Lovely house, gardens and host. Robert welcomed us with home-cooked Brownies and prepared a delicious breakfast with his home-cooked blackberry preserve! Quiet location & easy to find. Short walk to all conveniences.

I highly recommend to stay in The Rectory. Very clean, nice atmosphere, very close to sea, tasty breakfast and nice owner. You will never regret.

Robert's place is in an ideal location for Sidmouth being about 5/ 10 minutes walk to the seafront and the town. I stayed during folk week, and whilst i enjoyed the hurly burly of the festive occasion it was good to get back to somewhere quiet and peaceful. The views are good; pity about the trees on the garden border partly obscuring the view ! Checking in and out arrangements worked well. The bed room was a reasonable size. I found the decor a little on the gloomy side for me but this is someone's home not a hotel. All the appliances worked and the bathroom was clean. Robert was not in residence so cannot comment on his qualities as a live in host. Suffice it to say he answered my rather unnecessary questions courteously and promptly. Definitely recommended and a good base for exploring Sidmouth and its' surroundings. This was the first time i had tried airbnb In England so was pleasantly surprised,

I had a light and spacious room, with a wash basin as well as the separate facilities. The continental breakfast was good and the host was flexible about the timing. Off street parking is useful in Sidmouth! I'd stay again.

Robert was on holidays but Phillip filled in wonderfully. In touch before and right there when I arrived with a welcome coffee and plenty of helpful advice. He provided great support and adapted to my needs. It is a wonderful room with great light in a lovely house in a perfect location to get to the sea shore, just a five minute walk away. The Rectory is a lovely, comfortable and clean house with the very pleasant guest room overlooking a large and pretty garden. Robert was away, so we were greeted by Philip. We had an amazing time at Jane's flat ,it was clean and tidy ,well situated in the town close to all amenities. Overall it was a pleasure to stay there and hope to be allowed to stay there again in the future.

We had a great week despite the weather being poor. The apartment is very well equipped, the main lounge is really light and airy and you can sit and watch the world go by quite happily. The setting right in the heart of Sidmouth is ideal too, we hardly used the car all week but were content to walk by the sea and potter in the interesting independent shops (we all treated ourselves to something!!) There are lots of good places to eat and also good shops to buy fresh food and cook for yourself if you want to including a fishmonger and a very good green grocers. I would recommend Sidmouth as an unspoiled place to stay and Jane's apartment as the ideal base from which to enjoy it.

Everything at Little Anchor was perfect! We were given a welcome basket full of delicious goodies and a personalised card to make our arrival special. Jane could not have done more for us and made herself easily accessible in case of any problems - although there weren't any as everything had been thought of in advance. The apartment was beautiful and in pristine condition making it a pleasure to stay there. It is also perfectly located in the town centre so the perfect way to idly wrath the world go by if that's the kind of thing you enjoy. The apartment is well stocked with puzzles, games, a wii, a Bluetooth sound system, Sky TV and Internet access so even if the weather is poor, there would be loads to do. I cannot recommend this apartment highly enough so if you are lucky enough to get the chance to stay here, don't hesitate!

The apartment is in a great location near to shops, restaurants and sea front. It is very clean and comfortable with all the equipment needed for our stay. Jane is a brilliant host, she responded quickly to any queries which we had and was in touch with throughout the stay. We highly recommend this apartment, it was one of the best holiday we had.

We really enjoyed our three nights at little anchor. It was spotlessly clean and tidy with lovely furnishings. The location is great you feel really in the heart of the town. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the flat and popping out for food walks and shopping was easy for the whole family. Great for the kids to be able to go out for ice cream on their own too! This studio is in the most perfect place to explore Sidmouth and feel completely away from everything. We could relax so easily and the studio was so beautiful and cosy! Probably even better than described. The studio has a huge garden in front of it and it's far away from other houses. Everything is high quality, from the forks to the mattress (also king size). Great value for money!

One of our Best stays with Airbb ! Great location to centre of Sidmouth via a walk through lovely gardens. We checked in 1 hour early. Ian met us and briefly showed us the luxury. The Cabin is looking out to their garden & into the distant with beautiful trees, birds chirping and plenty of Seagulls ! Everything was clean, tidy and perfect for our three nights. Sidmouth is very beautiful and had plenty of walks and even my favourite coffee shop ' Coffee 1. Ian ans Carols Cabin was a great location and a perfect price with all you need to enjoy Devon. Thank to Ian for a warm welcome and peaceful, relaxing and cosy accommodation.

The studio was so perfect for our needs. It was super tidy, beautifully appointed, and very quiet and private but just a short walk to town and beach. Ian and Carol were charming hosts and I hope to have an opportunity to return in the future!

Easy access to the roads leading out of Sidmouth to explore the surrounding area. Easy to walk from the Studio to view the nearby countryside. Absolute brilliant view from the nearby hill overlooking Sidmouth.

Ian and Carol's suite went beyond every expectation, from the morning beverages to the olive oil, from the heated towel rack to the drying rack, from the walking tips to the reading library. It is clear that both believe in making their guests as comfortable as possible. The suite was beautifully outfitted with all the modern cons and provided a peaceful and private sanctuary after a strenuous hike from Sidmouth. We loved our time there. Many thanks. Ruth and her family where welcoming from the start. They have a beautiful home in an fantastic location in Sidmouth perfect for seaside getaways. The room is a great size with a very comfortable bed. Ruth makes sure you have all the things you need down to a jar of cookies! You have your own entrance into the room and a stunning ensuite modern wet room with a fantastic shower. The breakfast was perfect exactly what we needed after a late evening and just another reason why Cedar Shade cottage is the best place to stay in Sidmouth. Thank you to Ruth and family! Xx

Tucked away in a leafy street less than five minutes walk from the High Street and about eight minutes to the beach is this lovely little annex. A free parking space which was a godsend and a warm smile greeted me on my arrival. A home from home is how I would describe my room, beautifully clean, spacious and airy. The tea and coffee facilities go above and beyond at this venue. Rather than sticking a big tv Screen in the room and disturbing the peaceful ambience, Ruth offers you free wifi so you can view your own preferred programmes on your phone or iPad. This place is definitely value for money and I would whole-heatedly recommend....although that might mean they'll be booked up next time I want to use them. Still, never mind, they're nice people and they deserve the business.

Very enjoyable stay and very private as you have your own exit. Ruth supplies ingredients for a lovely continental breakfast which is in your private room so you can help yourself rather than having to be presentable at a certain time. We had a good time in Sidmouth and this was our first Air B and B which we throughly enjoyed.

Ruth's place was clean, comfortable, well- provisioned with selections of tea and coffee in the bedroom and a great choice of breakfast options such as fruit, toast, cereal and other bits. The room was light, airy and very clean and had a lovely large wet-room as an en-suite. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

This is a very convenient place to stay being in the heart of Sidmouth. The flat was warm and welcoming when we arrived and the accommodation provided us with everything we needed in our short break in Sidmouth. It makes it a great place to stay.

This is a very cosy and comfortable apartment. It benefits from and easily accessible lock up garage underneath the apartment block. It is conveniently located to access the sea promenade in two minutes, the main bus turnaround and lots of restaurants, bars and shops but is really quiet. We walked to Seaton along the coast path (4 hours tough walking) and bused it back (£4 each) and bused it to Budleigh Salterton the next day and walked back via the Otterton valley and Ladram Bay. The views on both of these were amazing. Short walks around the Connaught gardens, along the sea front and up into Mutters Moor and along the river Sid are equally as pleasant. We also had a trip out into Exeter on the bus which was lovely. The apartment was like a home from home. We cooked for half our stay and found all the appliances easy to use and very functional. To eat out we would recommend Dukes, The Pea Green boat and takeaway fish and chips from the White Horse café but there are so many places to eat out you are spoiled for choice. The cakes in the Connaught gardens looked incredible but we held out for our chips! We would definitely recommend this apartment to others and Steve was a brilliant host. (Very committed to excellence)

'Safe Harbour' is a beautiful and well decorated mid-terraced cottage, very clean and comfortable, suitable for the entire family or even two families. Fully equipped kitchen with everything we needed for our stay. Location is absolutely perfect, quiet and not over looked, a stones throw away from the shops, restaurant/cafe/pubs, seafront, playground and coastal paths, it was lovely not having to drive the car for a few days. Parking is a bit tricky, but we managed to get a biggish car onto the drive and the other car was parked in the car park just opposite, special long stay rates available - just bear in mind you can't pay by card for long stays, cash only - so you'll need plenty of pound coins (4-days £20). Great communication with Michaela, not that there were any issues. Our short stay was perfect, very impressed - this was our first AirBnB experience, the benchmark has been set so other places have a lot to live up to. Would highly recommend and would definitely return. Thank you!

Charming cottage with some great games, films and reading material.

Spotlessly clean, artfully decorated, with every amenity that you could need (wifi, flatscreen tv, books, games, DVD's, fully equipped kitchen - even ice in the freezer!). An easy walk into town or down to the beach, but quiet and peaceful location. Parking place on the property, accessed down single-track lane. We had a wonderful time with our 89 year old Dad, who had his first experience of Arbnb - and loved it. Michaela was incredibly helpful when I phoned the day before we went, and gave us some fantastic local tips for places to eat and visit. Thoroughly recommended.

We (4 adults and 3 children) enjoyed our stay in Safe harbour very much. The cottage was very clean and very well and careful planned and functional in every detail (the bathroom is a bit small for 7, but there is a second WC). The parking place at the house was big enough for a VW Caddy, the beds were very comfortable and the kitchen very well equipped. The kids loved the nice decoration and counted every piece in each room. We had a lot of nice things to do, even when the weather was not so nice. The first evening we watched the parade of the folk week with real burning torches and firework - a good start! On other evenings we played games with the kids and we had a lot of fun. A nice playground - even for older children - is 100m away. Michaela was very friendly and helpful - thank you so much! We will remember our stay very well! In German: ein perfekter Platz für Familienurlaub!

We had a fantastic long weekend down in Sidmouth! The property is beautifully furnished, very comfortable and perfectly situated for a family break. We couldn't have asked for anything else from Michaela or the property and cannot recommend it enough for a break on the Devon coast.

Wendy was a great host, very welcoming and accommodating. We had bikes, which she kindly found space for in her garden shed. Lovely garden and interesting to know about the unique Sidmouth climate. Good local pub tip after our bike ride, just what we needed, and a much appreciated breakfast in the morning to set us on our way. Lovely stay.

Situated in a quiet sub-urb of this very Edwardian scenic seaside town with many facilities and coastal walks from the house. Wendy is very welcoming and friendly and enjoys her guests sharing her beautiful home which she also shares with two young playful cats. The house interior is very beautiful and the ground floor is largely open plan leading to an enclosed south-facing garden. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfasts with fresh fruit salads were delicious!

We had a lovely stay. Clean, cosy and friendly with a great breakfast too. Forgot to mention - great value! Would definitely come again if we were in the area.

The stay at Wendy's was a pleasant one. The room was pretty and nicely decorated. Wendy was friendly and down-to-earth. Breakfasts were fine. The house is about 10-15 minutes from the centre of Sidmouth, a pretty town with nice shops, a little museum and a park at one end. The bus stop is near-by on the main road, handy if you are coming from e.g. Exeter (central bus station) or Honiton (train station). Or if you take a trip to the surrounding area like I did, to Beer and beyond.

Wendy made us feel very welcome and comfortable in her home. We slept very well and the room was lovely. A nice shower and super breakfast in the mornings set us up for a couple of days at the folk festival. We managed to park nearby despite the town being so full of visitors. Wendy even lent me a raincoat due to the summer weather. We would definitely stay here again.

Mirella's flat is located close to the beach and nearby shops and restaurants, which we found ideal for our midweek stay in Sidmouth. We found it easy to find and to gain entry to the property following Mirella's instructions. Whilst you can briefly stop at the flat to drop things off, overnight parking is arranged FoC by the host at Manor Road Long Stay Carpark, which is less than 10mins walking distance via the seafront. The flat is nicely presented. We liked the separate full size kitchen which includes a breakfast bar, this in addition to the dining area in the sitting room. Importantly, the bed was comfortable, bathroom has a good shower and everything was clean and tidy. There is no wifi in the flat, but as we were supposed to be on holiday, we found that no hardship. Some pubs and eateries in the town offer free wifi if needed. Whilst we did not actually meet Mirella during our stay, we found her to be an excellent and responsive host answering questions and providing local information which helped make our holiday enjoyable. As did a couple of days without rain, bonus! Would definitely recommend.

My wife and I stayed at Mirella's apartment in Sidmouth for a short break with our 6-month old son. The apartment was perfect for our needs. Close to the town and seafront. Quiet and comfortable. Plenty of space for our son to roll about on the floor. A nice little balcony for breakfasts/evening drinks. Mirella went above and beyond by providing a baby bath and highchair for our stay. It would have been more convenient if there was a space in the car park below the property, but Mirella provided us with a parking permit for a nearby car park which was a short walk away. Thanks for a wonderful trip.

The apartment is very clean and tidy. Well furnished and equipped with most things you could ask for on a short break. This is one of if not the nicest apartments I've stayed at from Airbnb. The lack of parking space could be off-putting to some but the long stay car park is only a 10 min walk away down the prom. Not a bad walk really!! Short stay parking is available nearer with some 30 min stay spaces available which I did use. Mirella gave perfectly detailed instructions regarding parking and access which were easy to follow - thank you! Mirella has been really helpful throughout. The apartment is situated centrally and only one street away from the sea front. Convenient for the shops, bars and beach. Sidmouth is a lovely small seaside resort which has retained its victorian character. A nice quiet place for families and couples. Also an ideal base from which to explore the local Devon and Dorset coastline. I'd definitely stay here again :)

Tons of room in this beautiful townhouse. Great views of the sea and within easy walking distance of the town centre and coastal trails. Keys, parking, etc. were nice and easy. Jenny was very conscientious about passing along all the information required for our stay. The house has games, information about the local area, and a well stocked kitchen.

Jenny was a delight to deal with and the property exceeded expectations. Clean and classy and lovely and warm. Built in the early 1790s you can't help but wonder what stories are held here and what characters have also sat on the balcony overlooking the crochet and cricket pitches gazing out to sea. All in all a stunning place.

We just spent three wonderful nights at this fantastic property - the only nights that were available all summer! There are many reasons this lovely home is always booked! I could have stayed forever. Jenny was always very prompt in replying to any email questions I had. The sheets we arranged for were soft and the bed was extremely comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. The location is perfect; lots to see right from your balcony. I happily recommend this property and hope to come back for a longer stay.

Stayed here in July with myself, husband, son, daughter and granddaughter (who were visiting from abroad). We had an absolutely wonderful time and couldn't have asked for a better location. We spent evenings out on the balcony watching the sun go down. The four bedrooms and layout worked perfectly for us (two large doubles, and two singles). No wifi at the house, but we were able to use BT homehub for a small charge. Lots of DVDs for use in the drawer, and board games! Would definitely rent this property again! Carla and her husband are warm, friently and helpful hosts. The room I stayed in was spacious and comfortable. I could sit and read in comfort and watch TV if I'd wanted to. It looked out onto a lovely garden. Having my own bathroom was an added bonus. Though a littl way out of town there was a bus service at the end of the road.

Loved this cosy, tastefully decorated and very airy room with private shower room. Carla's garden is delightful and Skye and Rosie, the dogs, quite charming. They are an easy-going and very welcoming family and the lovely walk to town through The Byes, accessible just a couple of minutes away from the house, is an added bonus. Highly recommend!

Golden Cottage is the perfect place to stay if you want to get stuck into Sidmouth and everything it has to offer. You are a few minutes walk from anything - beach, shops, bars, coffee shops etc and literally a stone's throw to a great park and the leisure centre (which has inflatables sessions for kids for an hour every day in the school holidays). The house is immaculate, very clean, has everything you need and more, the rooms are fantastic and the beds are ridiculously comfy! It was great to have such a large table in the kitchen / diner, we had lots of great evenings there with food we cooked in the very well-equipped kitchen or take outs from town. And we loved the cosy lounge for chilling by the fire and watching a movie after a long day exploring. Lizzy the host was so helpful, always responding to emails quickly and we can't recommend this place is enough. We'll be back , hopefully in the summer when we can take advantage of the outdoor patio area. Also it is so important to have a carpark space in Sidmouth. Even in February it's hard to get a space, so just to know you can drive back and park on your own drive was a godsend. Thanks for an amazing stay, we are telling everyone about how great it is!

Good for family holiday trip

We were made to feel very welcome, with a bottle of local apple juice as a welcome gift. The description was totally accurate, the images selected for the property were excellent and an accurate representation if the cottage.

We visited in July 2016 during a very warm week in Sidmouth. The property itself is very well equipped, newly decorated and perfect for ourselves and our two small children. I also had a lot of questions for Lizzy and she responded very quickly to them. The location is perfect, just a very short stroll to the beach, which we took advantage of every day. Having a private parking space, which is very hard to come by in Sidmouth this close to the seafront is another added bonus. I would not hesitate to recommend this property if you are thinking of having a break in Sidmouth, and we are looking forward to hopefully staying here again one day!

We had a great few days away in October Half Term. The cottage was just what we needed and the central location was ideal for the town or the beach. Certainly one to come back to in the future.

This is an excellent home. Very comfortable and very well-equipped. The location is sensational and the fact that there is parking so close to the sea front is a huge bonus. We are all getting on in years and manage the stairs all right, however if there are people who really have difficulty with stairs maybe the top floor is not for you. I would have absolutely no qualms about recommending this property very highly indeed.

Jane and Ed communicated with us from the start of our journey and reassured us that they will be available even if we are early to check in. They welcomed us at their immaculate front facade which had beautiful flowers and plants, and showed us the accommodation which was beyond our expectations. Very fresh, immaculately decorated to good taste and well equipped. Highlights were the ensuite, kitchenette, very comfortable bed and the small conservatory. The town is typical English coastal town with quite a few restaurants. A 20 minute drive through narrow lanes takes you to Ladram Bay which although is a caravan holiday park, has a lovely cove and pebble beach. Parking costs £5 but can use all the amenities all day. Ed recommended the next quaint seaside town Beer for good restaurants but you should book during peak days so as not to be disappointed like we were. The village itself is worth visiting. We spent the last day at Exmouth beach which is actually sandy and lovely on a sunny day. We loved our stay at Ashlea and Sidmouth and wished we stayed longer. We recommend it very highly.

Ashlea is well thought out for a comfortable, self catering stay. There is peace, privacy and our hosts were a good source of information about the area. So many lovely nearby walks of all capabilities. Being fit to take the 10 min walk into town and back a slight hill is a bonus and takes away the problem of parking and who gets to drink.

Plenty to do around Sidmouth and the free bus is a bonus. Lots of walks of various kinds. Cafes pubs and hotels are plentiful. Friendly locals and beautiful gardens. Three nights was not enough.

Comfortable 3 night stay in Christines home in a peaceful area. Lovely continental breakfast, and within a short walk to shops restaurants and the sea front.

Christine's house is a short walk from Sidmouth town centre and seafront. Christine has a lovely house & dog! The room was clean & tidy. The breakfast was delicious. Christine was a great host.

Very clean and comfy room. Christine is a great host and her dog Joe is lovely. Royal breakfast that kept us going on the coast path in gray weather.

Excellently located house. Beautifully decorated and furnished, and well equipped. Easy access to the Byes (local pathway along the river Sid to Sidmouth). Lovely and warm centrally heated and log burners for atmosphere. Smart bathrooms and comfy beds. Highly recommended.

Great location - easy walk into town. Managed to find parking in a close side street. Stairs are quite steep to bedroom (very common in Sidmouth) but there is also a bedroom and bathroom downstairs. Lovely homely feel and very flexible hosts. Easy, flat walk into town and beach. Nice outside courtyard. Great shower and well equipped kitchen. Would happily stay here again.

Throughly recommend this place perfectly located to walk down to the sea. House is well furnished and feels lived in rather than a other places which feel quite minimal. We all had a amazing time and will definitely return.

My wife Jodie and I booked the cottage for a family wedding in Sidmouth Church. In total three couples stayed the weekend. We had a fantastic stay and the cottage was a real home from home. We were very comfortable, parking was easy and the location at the top of the high street was perfect. Communication from Deb was regular and very clear. Lovely cosy home an easy five minute drive to Sidmouth beach. A car park is provided. The house itself is clean and on a quiet street. Lisa and Ross would send us the odd message making sure we were doing ok - a nice personal touch!

A great spot to stay, clean and tidy. A short drive to the water front and the house had everything we needed. I recommend staying.

A comfortable and cosy home within walking distance to Sidmouth, and easy driving access to the surrounding area. The house information folder is very useful and there is a supermarket close by for those cooking at home. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Our stay was exactly as we had expected and wanted. The house was clean, fresh and warm. It was comfortable and a brilliant investment for us as our other option was camping at a (URL HIDDEN) thanks!! The hosts answered all questions in a timely manner, we're friendly and accurate in their descriptions and offered great advice. Could not fault the whole experience.

Despite only visiting the Sidmouth area from North Devon we found the area an interesting place to visit, with many curious and interesting shops; a wide selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. There are a vast number of footpaths, cycleways and attractions close to the property, reached by foot, car or bus. The local Lidl supermarket, bakery and the Londis corner shop could not be more convenient. I have no hesitation in recommending Ross and Lisa's home as a place to stay. From start to finish the experience of dealing with Lisa & Ross was superb, extremely flexible, and quick to respond to emails. The house was a great base for a lovely weekend in Devon with easy access to the coast with Exmouth, Sidmouth, and Plenty more all within a very quick trip. Tracey is a lovely and friendly host. She provides a beautiful and comfortable apartment just steps away from the beach. We appreciated the fresh linnen and quick clean she provided for us half way our 2 week stay. We will definately book the apartment again if we're visiting the area.

Lovely apartment right in the heart of Sidmouth. Tracey was a great host and always available if needed. The apartment itself is a great home from home with everything you need and very clean. The seafront and town are both less than a minutes walk away and there's plenty of great places to eat. Sidmouth is a fantastic base to see the Jurassic Coast and be sure to visit the Donkey Sanctuary.

Great apartment! Very comfortable and clean. The communication with the host was perfect. The apartment is very close to the centre of Sidmouth and the beach. Perfect place to stay and to explore the stunning area of the Jurassic Coast. ---------- IT Appartamento perfetto. Pulito e confortevole, molto carino. La comunicazione con Tracey non poteva essere migliore, ha sempre risposto velocissima a tutte le mie domande. La casa si trova a pochi passi dal centro di Sidmouth dove ci sono negozietti e ristoranti e dal lungo mare. La zona è molto bella, e l'appartamento è un ottima base per esplorare la Jurassic Coast. Super consigliato.
