Il Gufo is set in a beautiful location in the mountains. There are many walks in the surrounding area. It is easy to visit Florence and Lucca. The local town has plenty to do and we recommend the butchers restaurant and the gelateria next door. Sandro is a great host.

Il Gufo is a paradise! Feels like its away from everything in the mountains but close enough to anything you might need on a Tuscan retreat, including a great pool. Sandro could not be more friendly or more helpful. Always available but not intrusive. The road/track from the village up through the forest to the house is perhaps not for the faint-hearted but it only adds to the sense of being away from it all. Once there, the scenery is breathtaking. Florence and Pisa are within easy reach as are many small Tuscan villages and the beautiful mountain scenery. We had the whole place for our large family and it was ideal - separate apartments but large communal kitchen/lounge too. We recommend Il Gufo for families and groups alike.

The house is in the middle of the nature. Beautiful and quiet, with a great view. The swimming pool is huge and has also a perfect view. We loved it!

Il Gufo is an absolutely wonderful place to stay! We rented the whole house for a week and we have only positive things to say about it. It was perfectly clean, it had all we needed for cooking etc, the garden and the pool were absolutely stunning with excellent views of the mountains - and the whole place was totally silent with only the sounds of the nature. Sandro is a great host! He is very kind and helpful and the communication runs smoothly. We really hope to come back to Il Gufo some time!

We have been in this beautiful place for a family reunion! The only negative was that it lasted too little, this unforgettable setting allowed us to spend a fantastic weekend, the apartments were clean and above all well stocked with everything we needed! We stayed in 16 people and we were very comfortable, the common areas very spacious, the beautiful pool even though we could not use them! The house can be reached without problems with a small road (sometimes unpaved) that connects it to the nearby village of San Marcello. Very helpful and kind Sandro, whom I thank again for giving us the opportunity to turn our stay into an event that we will hardly forget !!! Absolutely recommended, we hope to come back !!!

Francesca's place is marvelous. The house and the view is like in a fairytale. We even had dinner from a neighbour that cooked porcini with polenta. Definitely recommend, the house and nature is better than in the photos. The only thing to take care of is that the road is a challenging. You need a 4x4 or something taller. We had a Giulietta and managed pretty well. Don't know if we could have reached the place if it rained. Also, it's easier to arrive during the day because the road is hard to find in the dark, it's basically into the woods.

We were a huge group of friends post-wedding, and Francesca’s place provided the perfect setting for intimate conversations, long board games, amazing evenings looking out over the mountain. We loved it!

Lovely farmhouse in beautiful setting with great pool and outdoor area. We had a fabulous stay with our friends from England and Germany, with the children in and out of the pool all day. The driveway, as well as being steep (as described) is narrow and bumpy in places so not for the faint hearted. If you coming from La Lima direction the turn into the driveway is difficult and turning out towards La Lima is difficult too, but if you continue driving to just after the 74km road marker we found an area where we could turn around. Then you can get up the driveway easier and more safely.

This place is amazing. It is as good or even better than what you can see in the pictures. It is the perfect place for nature lovers, up in the mountains sorrounded by trees. The house is beautifully decorated. You can feel that the owners have put their heart and soul in so many details, with great taste. All the typical Toscana spots are quite close by car (Firenze, Pisa, Lucca, Pistoia...). We hiked to the Scaffaiolo lake starting right from the house. We were 4 adults and 9 children (2 families), staying a total of 9 nights. The house is big and spacious, and has many corners if you need to be alone. Daniele and Ambra were really helpful and easy to comunicate with. They gave us all the tips we needed to discover places, restaurants, museums (the Marino Marini Museum in Pistoia is a must!!!). Of all the great food that we ate, the one that we probably enjoyed most was "Resticceria Port Arsa", a small, casual and very affordable place in Pistoia, run by a grandmother, daughter and grandaughter. They open everyday till 5 pm, and on Tuesday, Friday and Saturdays they cook wood oven pizza until 9pm, a really top level pizza. Don't miss it. Also the ice cream on "Officina del Gusto" is great. We will repeat "Casetta del Pievano" someday again for sure!

This holiday was very good, the enviroment very nice, we suggest to visit in San Gimignano,it is öné of the most beautiful towns in Tuscan.

Beautiful house in a beautiful setting. Large cities are within traveling distance. There is a sauna for those chilly days. Lots of trees for the hot days. Pleasant contact with the owner always responds quickly.

Ambra & Daniele's house is a palace. Immersed in the woods of the Tuscan Emilian Apennines, it is the perfect place to start hiking or spend relaxing days. Impeccable hospitality and magnificent location.

This property's location is really out of this world if you are a nature lover. It is beautifully remote, surrounded by woods and once the evening comes on you are left with just the moonlight and the sounds of the adjacent stream for company. You can hike straight from the door or just bask in the sunlight in the garden. The access is by winding mountain roads and, over the last few meters, by dirt track which was perfect for getting away from it all. It takes some time to rejoin the road system for day trips but we had a very nice outing to Pisa and also the exceptionally good zoo in Pistoia. Otherwise I would recommend staying local and enjoying the splendid isolation. The house is full of rustic character and the sauna is an added bonus.

Perfect place, very beautiful. Daniele has proven to be a reliable and accurate person. We were among friends, we had fun. We used a wood oven.

This house was perfect for our extended family Christmas. It is large and comfortable, having been restored over several years. The pizza oven and sauna were a highlight, as were the incredible views over wooded mountains and peaceful forest surroundings. This is authenic rural Tuscany at its best - look out for the sheep guarded by the iconic Maremma dogs in fields on the way down to the surronding towns. Spingana and San Marcello are charming, make sure to buy some local Toma cheese. A word of warning - if you are arriving at night the road might give you heart palpitations. But drive carefully and you will soon be there, blessed by some of the most peaceful, beautiful surroundings we have ever been in.

For the second time we stayed in this beautiful comfortable and welcoming house surrounded by greenery and woods a few km from the ski slopes and for those who want there are trekking routes to do in the very nice surroundings, like what the very kind recommended home owners, at the Torre del Fattucchio ...... can't wait to return again.

Wonderful experience! We arrived late in the afternoon and were warmly welcomed. The apartment is immersed in the nature of the Tuscan Apennines surrounded by chestnut trees that welcomed us with the typical autumn shades. Because of the time we stayed at home and so we could enjoy the refreshment offered: living room and cozy kitchen with everything you need to be able to prepare a hot meal. Together with the comfortable rooms we were able to resume the journey the following morning well rested. Highly recommended! I hope to come back soon!

Wonderful place to explore the mountains, is absolutely a little fairy tale. Gloria is lovely and will help you out with anything you need! the only thing is address doesn't come up on google maps because is a wonderful spot of the road, so contact gloria and she will get you there no worries, communication is very good and swift! Amazing hospitality! We felt so at home and welcome in Glenda’s home. She was really interested in all of our plans and gave us great tips of places to visit and eat at. We were give a fantastic breakfast every day which was such a great touch. The home was beautiful and the surrounds were amazing to look at. Would highly recommend to anyone planning on visiting the area. The location was also good for day trips to places such as Pisa and Florence.

Casa Nelson is pretty, in the typical mountain style, very neat and clean. The rooms are comfortable, we were there with a person in a wheelchair and we enjoyed ourselves. Sandra is a very attentive and kind host, ready to help you with any need. We will definitely be back.

Five-star 100%, in the area is the best accommodation for 2-4 people, impeccable cleanliness, well-kept apartment with all the accessories, in excellent condition, similar treatment to a 4-star hotel (bed linen, wardrobe, soaps etc.) , the host is very responsive, quick, kind and competent (Mrs. Sandra), parking is easy and close, access from the ground floor convenient. We returned home after spending a few days in Sandra's house. The house is a small jewel that transmits all the good taste and hospitality of Sandra. Great stay at Casa Nelson where we were greeted with great friendliness and availability. The house is in a strategic position, in the center, but in a quiet and peaceful street, where personal relationships, the presence of shops of typical food products, the green of the surrounding parks, the gardens cultivated with love make you find the best of tradition Tuscany. Furnished with care and originality, complete with utensils, appliances and excellent linens, it offers you everything you need. Silvia is an exquisite host. We have set mushrooms freshly picked by her husband, rare in these times, and pumpkin flowers in her garden. What to say? It was a wonderful experience that I recommend to everyone.

Sandra was very kind and considerate, and quick to respond. We loved staying at her cozy and spotlessly-clean, and very updated and modern place in the center of San Marcello Pistoiese. It has the most wonderful view of Sandra's amazing garden. We were there for a trail race and could not have asked for a more perfect location 2 minutes from the race start and headquarters. It's also very close (walking distance) to the grocery (Coop) and several restaurants and cafes around town. San Marcello is a beautiful, small village in Tuscany, surrounded by amazing hiking and running trails and we are grateful to have been able to stay at CasaNelson.

Chiara's house is a real nest ... it is located in the upper part of Cutigliano, connected to the center of the town by a panoramic pedestrian road ... Truly incente! The furnishings are a little dated but typical of a mountain home, the stove is truly the top, and spending the evenings on the sofa in front of the heat of the crackling wood was really the relaxation we were looking for! Thanks Chiara for your availability, and thanks above all to Elena and Roberto, your parents, for waiting for us until late afternoon!

Very pleasant stay. The apartment is spacious and well equipped. Good location a few steps from the center. The cable car can be reached on foot even if, with the ski equipment, it is a bit tiring. We enjoyed both the village and the various activities that the area offers (skiing, snowshoeing, trekking). Definitely recommended and we hope to return.

This was a lovely place! Gianna and her Mama were wonderful as well! Just a heads up that there is no internet (or cell service) and they don't speak English. So brush up on your Italian! Even so, they were so kind and very willing to try to communicate through Google translate and charades!

Gianna's house is large and welcoming, a real apartment complete with a hall. We found everything cozy and clean. The availability of Gianna was excellent, she always responded early and even at check-in they were friendly and helpful. If we need we will be back for sure.

I felt in love with a quiet and nice place where the house is located. It’s a place where you feel like home with a dog and cats in the yard and spectacular view from the hill. The house looks like pretty old renovated building and you feel there so special and cosy. It was a fireplace in our apartment! So cool! A dip in nature and in the countryside, among sheep, chickens, silence and calming panoramas

We spent a weekend with Gianna in the name of tranquility surrounded by nature. The apartment, reachable along a short stretch of dirt road and quite narrow, is really very beautiful, bright and functional. I would say that nothing is really missing. The gem is the fireplace that kept us company both nights. Gianna was flawless and she also left us some delicious breakfast biscuits. We will definitely be back when we want to spend a weekend away from the city.

The views you get from this AirBnB cannot be overstated. It is absolutely breathtaking. The apartment is very clean and furnished with everything you need. Whether you’re staying for a day or a month, this flat will have everything you need. Giannas place is a true taste of living in the mountains of northern tuscany. The apartment is on the top floor of a large family home & while Gianna was available if we needed anything, it felt like we were in our own home. The apartment is very well furnished & has excellent kitchen facilities. We absolutely loved the view out across the valley and it was a very relaxing place to be. There is an excellent veggie garden & lots of chickens to give a real farm feeling and their dog Zampa is so lovely and gentle. We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it.

Great place to stay. Rosa was very responsive to all our questions. The place itself is very quiet with a very warm and homely feeling. Awesome house in the mountains about 40 minutes drive from Florence. 2 rooms for 4 people - a double for parents and a two-tiered for children - just our option was. Huge room with kitchen, table. Everything is convenient, high quality and stylish. 2 separate bathrooms with toilet - enough for 8 people. Everything is really very, very good. Nearby there are cafes / restaurants. The owners live on the bottom floor, but there was no sound from them. Very friendly bikers :)

The house is a nice, somewhat remote place in the mountains. Everything was clean and more than ready when we arrived. Finding the place is a little difficult though as the street is not marked on Google maps as of now. Over would definitely recommend this place.

Fine, child-friendly accommodation with a beautiful large garden and beautiful surroundings. Lisa is really a top host and has given us a lot of information about the area. Our children were very happy with the many toys, the swimming pool and the playground. In short, a top location that we definitely recommend.

I highly recommend this place if you love nature. Our family of 8 had plenty of room and had so much fun exploring.

Lisa is Maurizio, they were kind and with a great sense of welcome. The house is immersed in a fairy forest. Warm clean is characteristic. He Deserves.

Already the arrival of the reception of Lisa was sunny and pleasant, we did find the heater turned on, and in our opinion was a super advantage considering that we used it to cook. Furthermore the house is spacious and welcoming, impeccable cleanliness. Do not forget the fact that we have all the necessary linen, shower gel and the necessary basis for cooking. It is one of those houses that you would not go away from, in fact we will definitely be back for more than one night.

Best example of the owner, big hospitality taking care of details and perfect recommendations/tips for local visits, roads, and restaurants. I strongly recommend asking for a cooking class with Daniele's mother and dinner with all family afterward, the perfect experience for our family and warm memories. You need a car to travel in the area and in the Tuscany and we reached even south of Tuscany from Daniele's place. The very nice local restaurant just 1 km from the place. And many more. After this visit, I feel that I have a new friend in Tuscany. Looking forward to coming back one day.

The time at Danieles apartement was more than perfect. It is so peaceful an quiet there, a great place to relax. The apartment was really clean and included a balcony with a great view and sun in the evening. Furthermore there is a big garden with a swimming pool and whirlpool, that we could use all time. Daniele is the perfect host. He has good advices for trips around toscany and brought us fresh eggs and vegetables from the garden. But the highlight was the dinner which Daniele and Veronica prepared for us. They cooked a delicious meal with fresh toscany products, that was way better than every restaurant we had visited. So we really had an amazing time and would recommend the apartment.

We spent a week in the apartment and it was our best airbnb experience by far. The clean and comfy apartment has everything you need, plus a beautiful garden completed with a pool and hot tub. Daniele is a great host. Even though we arrived late after some car problems, he gave us a warm welcome. We felt at home from the first minute on. We loved the evening in the cooking school, when Antonella, Daniele & Victoria served us delicious homemade pizza from the stone oven outside. Daniele also had great recommendations for exploring Tuscany - from city trips to great restaurants. He truly introduced us to his culture and is just a great guy. 11/10 would book any time again.

What a fantastic day we had in Pistoia. Due to the bad weather we chose to leave our camper for a few days. Partly because our 10-month-old son had more room around him. This turned out to be a super choice! What a nice welcome from Daniele, so very hospitable. Even a baby cot and high chair were ready to use in the appartment. Daniele has tips for everything and we even had dinner with the family one evening. We have learned to make pasta, which we will soon repeat here at home in the Netherlands. Tribute to Daniele, his mother and Veronica. With the extra tips we have driven nice routes (to lucca), took the train to Firenze and seen more and had much less costs, for example parking. Keep it up! I would recommend this spotless apartment to anyone. Do you want to discover the real Italy away from the crowds, go! We had amazing days here.

This was - by far - the most sensational Airbnb experience I have ever had. The appartment is wonderfully comfortable, clean and equipped with everything you need. Free delicous Italian coffee pads are complimentary :). Yet, the hosts are the absolute highlight! Daniele, Veronica and Antonella treated us like family throughout our entire stay. We were supplied with fresh eggs, coffee, breakfast and invited for the most wonderful evening including homemade pasta and wine. We came as guests and left as friends. Antonella also runs a cooking school close by which I would strongly recommend. We are now able to cook our own Italian pasta! The area is lovely, around the house there is a heavenly garden, a swimming-pool and an outside hot tub (best enjoyed at night with a glass of white wine). Daniele arranged mutliple restaurant visits for us (all incredibly delicous!) and the highlight was a wine and cheese tasting at San Marcello. The products were so good, we basically bought half the store afterwards, even though nobody expects you to do so. All the important cities are close by (Pisa, Florence, Lucca, Pistoia) and Daniele will tell you the best places to visit (including where to park, ...). Communication was perfect, as Daniele replies within seconds on Whatsapp and seems to be around the corner pretty much all the time. I could go on forever, but long story short: If you want to have an amazing holiday experience with heart-warming hospitality in the wonderfull hills of Tuscany - book it!

Veronica and Daniele go to extraordinary lengths to make sure you feel as good and comfortable as possible. They are such lovely hosts and make you feel welcome and special with their relaxed, helpful and giving personalities. We could not have had a more relaxing and enjoyable stay. On top of that, we received help beyond expectations, e.g., when our car got stuck and Daniele immediately came with a friend and his Jeep to pull us free. If you want a good experience and recharge your batteries, then visit Veronica and Daniele!

Daniele and Veronica are just amazing! I don t know where to start. The flat is very clean, equipped with everything you may need and even more. Also there was already everything prepared for breakfast. Big, nice rooms and a very nice outside area. There is a pool, an inside Whirlpool, an outside Whirlpool and a Sauna. You could not ask for more. The sourrounding is perfect to do day trips or to just enjoy a day at home. Daniele welcomed me with a bottle of wine and showed me everything. You can tell how much Daniele and Veronica are giving to make your stay as good as possible. They put in all their heart and even cooked for all guests at my last night. I can not thank them enough to make my stay as wonderful as it was. I will definitely come back and can only highly recommend to enjoy Danieles and Veronicas lovely nature and the beautiful place in which they are welcoming everyone as a friend.

Antonella is an exceptional host! We have had a fantastic time at Leonberger Haus. It's absolutely beautiful, surrounded by nature. Antonella was very attentive, friendly and most helpful. We felt very welcome and truly came as guests and left as friends. Antonella has created a fantastic, warm and relaxing atmosphere in the house.

We had a great time!!! The guest house is completely equipped and even has a separated garden where our two small children could play freely. Antonella was the nicest host ever. She not only welcomed us with cake and fresh fruits but also gave us sightseeing advice based on our interests and time of the year.

The house of Antonella is absolutely awesome! It has everything you need. The heating works tip top what is important in October. Sam Marcello is an excellent place for excursions of all kinds, also for hiking! We enjoyed it very much and can only recommend this accommodation

Antonella's place is my favorite! I loved the location so much, I hope to return someday. Her house was quiet and cozy. You stay in a small house near their main house but it's very private, they were there when we needed something but left us alone otherwise. The property is fenced and gated so it felt especially safe. The pool is beautiful, you're swimming around over looking breathtaking mountains. It was an amazing experience!

Antonella is a great hostess. We were greeted with a cake and fresh fruit. Delicious! On the second day there was even homemade plum jam. :) Unfortunately, our dog did not get along so well with the dogs. But that's more because our dog is a little bitch. But this was also very well accompanied by the hosts. For questions Antonella was always there and could give good hints. The accommodation is very clean and there is a high level of privacy. CONCLUSION : We recommend We will be back!

We can’t express in words how much we loved staying at Casa die Leonberger last week. Antonella and her family received us as if we were their own family and even baked us a cake, left us fresh fruit and wine! They have literally thought about every little detail, from the bathroom to the pool, the kitchen to the garden, everything you need is there. The bed guarantees you some good night sleep and taking a dive in the pool with these warm days is lovely. Even though it’s a bit colder as your higher up, the temperature in September is perfect. The house is sparkling clean and gives you a lot of privacy, especially with the nice terrace on the side of the house. We also want to express our warm feelings towards the village and it’s nice people. Everyone smiles, is patient and wants to help you. The supermarket and restaurant are within walking distance and the region is perfect for nice hikes. 10/10!!!

We were warmly welcomed by this beautiful sweet family and super sweet dogs. The estate where they live is fantastic and only radiates tranquility. The holiday home is nice, clean and lots of privacy. Everything is there, towels for showering but also for the pool and beds made. The pool is nice and you often have it for yourself. Sometimes on the weekend you have to share this with the family. We found everything far away if you want to go to the famous places or once to the sea, you are soon 1.5 hours on the road. But when you come back to this nice place, it makes a lot of good! Rest is the key word. ☀️ The village is small but cozy with 2 small supermarkets. In the middle of the village is a terrace restaurant pup where we would like to eat a snack. We were there the first 2 weeks of August and then the climate is super nice .. you go down quickly it is 5 degrees warmer. Conclusion: perfect place !! Highly recommended .. ☀️☀️☀️

A New Year spent in the name of peace and tranquility, with long walks in the surrounding woods. We found Fabrizio and Claudia waiting for us and they immediately made us feel at ease. The house is extremely clean, warm, finely restored with great taste and with all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay.

Calamecca is a small mountain village in the Sierra of Pistoia. Quiet is beautiful. Church of the Siglo XII. The house of Claudia and Fabrizio is beautiful and welcoming. Perfect suit. The photos fail to show the quality of the place. Claudia and Fabrizio are beautiful people. They waited late because we arrived a lot later, but they were waiting for us.

It is amazing place with true hospitality. The town is super cute and very quiet. You feel like traveling back in time, really. And the area is not spoiled with mass tourism so it is very authentic. Wonderful experience! House super clean and comfortable. Hosts are super nice and friendly! Highly recommended!

This house is a magical place in an idyllic village. The house is beautifully appointed, charming and wonderfully comfortable. Th local community made us feel like we were expected guests . Fabrizio was an amazing host who went out of his way to help us. Any traveler lucky enough to find themselves in the dream of Tuscany.

Highly recommend staying here, an authentic Tuscan hillside village with incredibly friendly locals and a great host. Our bed and pillows were so comfortable- really felt like home. Wish we stayed longer.
