  • Clean and lovely. I will certainly be back and recommend the property highly! I stayed in the Sunset Room.

  • One of the best places we have stayed! I loved the inviting atmosphere and the coffee bar in the am! Would definitely recommend!

  • Sweet little hostel with 4 private rooms and one large bunk room. Coffee and tea provided in the morning was a nice touch. So much beautiful character in the house and lots of board games next to the wood stove. Couldn’t imagine how incredible the place must be in the summer

    Benji2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Salida Hostel is a great place to stay! We stayed in the Sunset room for one night. The room and the whole house was very clean and comfortable. Tom was very friendly, and gave us great tips on the best food in town. He also baked some delicious muffins for everyone to enjoy in the morning with coffee and tea. Everyone in the house was respectful and quiet. The hostel is about is a little less than a mile from downtown which was great too. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

    Drea2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay, beautiful and clean place to stay with a great little coffee and muffin bar in the mornings and access to a full kitchen! I will absolutely be back to stay during my next Salida trip!

    Jennah2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • The private, "Sunset room" was perfect for my wife and I. There were 2 gentlemen staying in the bunkroom and then a couple in another private room neighboring ours, but it was very quiet and peaceful. We utilized the shared space and kitchen which were well kept and stocked well enough for some basic cooking. Perfect place for our short stay while enjoying Monarch Ski resort.

Located on our 20 acre goat farm, with fantastic views from every corner, among Juniper and Pinon Pine trees, you will find our modern yet rustic canvas tipis with either a Bighorn Sheep or a Mountain Goat painted on it! This marvel of native American engineering is just what you need to feel like you are camping, without all the work. Even when it rains - you stay dry!
  • The teepee was wonderful. The electric blankets kept us warm. Be sure to bring your own bedding. Goats, ducks, and chickens on the farm.

    James2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay with easy access to 6 14er trailheads. The greenhouse and hot tub and nice touches after a long day in the mountains.

    Dalton2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing time staying in this Tipi!! We were looking for something simple, easy and a beautiful location and got it all! It was definitely cold as it’s the beginning of October but the host was very nice and even provided a heated blanket! Would definitely stay here again. The lodge is also amazing and we would love to try it out. Breakfast basket is a must and everything was absolutely delicious!

    Tamara2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the tipi!! Had such a fun night stay here. Cots are comfortable and the heated blanket was great! Adorable animals on property and an amazing breakfast was served in the morning. Clean portopotty for use. Amazing mountain views, I love this place!!!

    Lindsey2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Fun stay! It was a little cold at night so glad there was an outlet for our electric blanket. We’ll be back!

    Suzanne2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful stay at the Tipi! Gina and her husband couldn't have been nicer and the place was sparking clean. The heated blanket was perfect and the property was beautiful! We will definitely be back!

    Olivia2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Delicious breakfast, wonderful critters, beautiful land and hosts.

    Molly2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Mountain Goat Lodge is a one of a kind experience and I couldn't recommend it more! My husband and I stayed in the tipi which was one of many unique accommodations on the property. We loved it but we are also used to camping in a tent - it's probably not for everyone. Gina was a great communicator with quick replies. Her and Darcy were the perfect hosts and their coffee & breakfast was amazing! Not to mention all the animals around the property - so cute! We hope to stay longer next time.

-Sunset Ridge RV Site- Bring your RV and stay on our little piece of heaven we call Sunset Ridge! Located only five miles from Salida, you can skip into town for a bite to eat, take off on your bike and petal into town for morning coffee, or be at the Arkansas River in a matter of minutes. The site has plenty of room for pulling in and maneuvering large RVs. The site is primitive without any running water or electricity so you will want to plan accordingly.
Site has an amazing view of the Sangre de Cristo and Saguache Mountain Ranges. Close enough to town, yet far enough away for privacy. Drink your morning cofee as the sun rises, or sit in your lawn chair and watch the sun set.

We are located on a 1500 ft. stretch of the Arkansas River, 3 miles from downtown Salida. Our rural setting is beautiful in every season, offering amazing views of the mountains and river. Your guest suite is located in a private section of our home with its own exterior entrance, bathroom, and kitchenette. The main room is spacious, quiet, and filled with natural light. Whether you are here to fly fish, ski/snowboard, explore downtown Salida or to simply relax, you won't be disappointed!
Our guest space is very peaceful and the king bed is quite comfy, so expect a great night's sleep! The bathroom is for your use only, and features a stone and tile walk-in shower. Your suite is separated from the private portion of our home by a locked door in the adjoining hallway.
The Arkansas River makes our neighborhood unique! There are only a few homes down here along the river, so it's fairly quiet. Sometimes it seems like we are living in a wildlife area - expect to see deer and a wide variety of birds and water fowl on our property. The surrounding views of the mountains and river are spectacular! There are plenty of places to walk, explore, play and fish on our property or along the country road.
  • Lisa & Dave were wonderful hosts! I am so grateful to have stumbled upon their Airbnb - can’t wait to book another trip!

  • A true hidden gem! Delightful hosts and a beautiful home in a gorgeous setting!

    Donna2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our visit was wonderful. The bathroom is newly done and they provide extras for you if you need it- first aid kit, cotton balls, hair dryer, shampoo, etc. There was an extra pad for the sofa bed which made it super comfy for the kids. Lisa had great communication with us before, during, and after our trip. They are very friendly hosts. They helped us get the grill ready to grill burgers for dinner. They provided some snacks, coffee, and tea which was an extra bonus. Overall we enjoyed our stay and getting to know Lisa and Dave. I highly recommend this place if it fits your needs and the size of your family.

The Simple Lodge is close to the city center (right in historic downtown Salida), Riverside Park, art and culture festivals, music venues, restaurants and dining. The Simple Lodge is located in historic downtown Salida. This town has been rejuvenated by a large outdoor community and a major impact from artists. We are so happy to show guests the joys of living here and what our quaint town has to offer.

  • Way way way better than expected. Loved staying a 15 minute walk away from town and right on a hiking path along the river. So comfy. Everyone was kind and hospitable. I stayed in the dorm which was hardly populated that week so I lucked out. Would definitely choose to stay here over the other hostel in town ( which I have stayed at many times). This is definitely for those who want a chill vibe with great WiFi and muffins fir breakfast. Loved it. ❣️❣️❣️❣️

  • Tony and Kiwi were amazing hosts! They both are so nice and chill and very hospitable. Great first time stay in a hostel. The house dogs, Styx and Bruno, were sweet. Very cute, clean, and in a great area. Was really fun meeting fellow travelers and locals at the house.

  • You can expect everything you see and read in the description. A nice, clean place to stay for an affordable price.

    RuthAnne2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Check is was a breeze, they were very accommodating with how late we arrived. The feel was like any other hostel I have stayed in. Not too quiet or private as you are renting a room in a house with other people. The fire alarm did go off on the first night we were there and it was a little bit scary as it smelt like burnt toast or something from the upstairs suite yet noone came out to let us know what was going on.. This is not the host's fault unless they were the ones in the suite that night.. Overall as I expected it would be! Great location and met a few other guests who were super great!

    Courtney2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is the best place to stay in salida! The hostel is welcoming and in the perfect location to walk anywhere in town. The hosts are extremely communicative and the hostel is clean and cozy. We will definitely be staying here again in the near future!

Welcome to The Apartment at Howl! It's our greatest pleasure to host you in our beautiful town of Salida, Colorado. This studio apartment sits behind Howl Mercantile & Coffee. It features a sleeping loft with 1 queen bed below and 2 twin XL beds up top (can be pushed together to form a king), full kitchen, full private bathroom, covered patio and private parking. Located 2 blocks from the river, this is the ideal location to experience the best of Salida - Bars, Restaurants, Recreation...
*** Please read through the entire listing before booking with us.*** Welcome to the Apartment at Howl! This apartment is most suited for a family of 4 or young people traveling together. If you're wondering what Howl Mercantile and Coffee is all about, you can find us on Instagram @howlmercantile. Our Apartment is sure to give you a similar experience to being at the shop. The 2 loft beds are only for persons +4 years old who are comfortable climbing a LADDER. While adults have been fine staying in the loft, it does have low ceilings (about 4') and may not be best for all adults. Children must be supervised at all times. Also note, the bathroom is accessed across a hallway within the apartment. The entire apartment is your space, it is NOT shared with the coffee shop nor do you have to worry about customers entering the apartment. We get this question a lot, rest assured, it's your space while renting. Our downtown parking space located behind the apartment is large enough for a vehicle with boat trailer. Please also note, this apartment is in the rear of a coffee shop (NOT UPSTAIRS). We open in the morning and sometimes have events at night. THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR NOISE. Quiet hours are between 10pm and 7am and outside of that, you WILL hear us. You have private access to the apartment including the bathroom (BATHROOM IS NOT SHARED WITH THE SHOP), but in the unlikely case of an emergency, we reserve the right to access the electric panel, utility closet or the hallway. We will message you and knock on the door should this occur.
Downtown Salida is the largest creative district in Colorado and has an abundance of bars, restaurants, galleries and shops. This rental is located in a downtown setting and shares an alley with restaurants and bars. Downtown Salida can be noisy at night and so this should be noted before booking our apartment.

  • Really awesome Airstreams. Very clean & super cute. The community bathroom made me nervous. But you only share the private two large bathroom with the people renting out the other airstreams. Overall wonderful, zero complaints. The hot tub was really nice to come back to after a long day of sight seeing. Highly recommend.

    Meredith2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The amigo motor lodge is such a cute place! I had to check in late and they were so accommodating. It was easy to pull up and get settled. The airstream was clean and super stylish. In the guide they said they have “surprisingly good coffee” and they are right! In the morning the staff was friendly and kept the coffee flowing on the lobby! Traveling alone I was nervous but I felt very safe there. I would definitely stay again.

My place is about 15 to 20 minutes to restaurants and family-friendly activities. We are about 30 minutes to Mount Princeton Hot Springs and 30 minutes to Monarch Ski Resort. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids). We also now have a propane grill for you to use.
Our property backs up to National Forest with miles and miles of trails. We have a pond on our property stocked with trout. You may fish in there but only catch and release and no bait. It is $20 pp. We have a canoe and a paddle boat you can use also. We have one bedroom that is private with a queen bed and the loft is about 5 feet high with two twin beds. The loft overlooks the living room downstairs.
We own 100 acres and our land backs up to National Forest with amazing views and trails for hiking.
  • This cabin is an absolute hidden gem. My husband and I, and our dog, just spent Christmas week in this beautiful little cabin in the slightly remote snowy mountains of Salida. Jodi and Clint thought of everything to make our stay incredibly comfortable and cozy. They even had Christmas decorations which were very much appreciated. Monarch mountain is only a short 30 mins away and offered so many fun activities, we happened to snow tube and snowmobile. Downtown Salida is only 15-20 mins away with many cute shops and restaurants. Is it important to note that you may get ZERO cell service and there is no WiFi. We didn’t mind this for a few days, it was actually kinda nice. Lastly, the cabin is small and we packed very large suitcases (packed with winter gear) which made storing them a little tricky but we managed just fine- just something to keep in mind!

    Emma2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jodi's place is great! It is so cozy in the winter, and it has all the kitchen basics you need! We loved our time there - the check in process was super easy, and we loved being able to bring our pup!

    Jonathan2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jodi’s little cabin was the coziest little cabin in the most gorgeous location! We wanted somewhere to get away from it all & this was the place! Feel so lucky to have experienced it although it was only for one short night. The Christmas decor made us feel so at home, the lights just added the sweetest touch & the views are just unreal. We spent the day in Salida, cooked dinner at the cabin and then headed out early morning to the Great Sand Dunes NP which was only a little over an hour away. Was perfect in every way & we cannot wait to come back!

  • Definitely going back! Jodi is such an amazing host! We arrived on Thanksgiving afternoon and stayed a full week. Everything in the cabin was clean and well thought through. Jodi is always available if you need anything. Her husband Clint is also a great host! He is always available to plow the driveway when it snows. Such great people and such a nice cabin!

    Laura2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jodi’s cozy cabin was the perfect place to steal away to for a couple of days and enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains. We did some local hikes and went into town for lunch, but our kids would have been happy to never leave and just play in the snow around the cabin the whole time, it’s such a gorgeous spot. We were very comfortable and relaxed (and warm, even on very cold nights!) Great communication from Jodi, especially helping us find the spot in the dark. A wonderful Air BnB experience.

    Laura2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin has everything you need to be a home away from home for the weekend. Comfortable bed, fluffy towels, complete kitchen for cooking meals. The sweeping views of the valley are stunning. My pup and I had a wonderful time!

    Catherine2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed only a short time and left early in the morning but the owners communicated well and made sure to come over and chat with us, which was really nice. You can tell they really care about their guests having a nice time. The property is beautiful and special and the cabin was comfy and warm.

    Erica2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • We booked Jodi’s cabin for an anniversary trip. Due to inclement weather and poor road conditions we were unable to make it to the cabin. Jodi was so kind and helpful in making sure we were able to cancel our reservation and were refunded. She was so helpful to us as we looked at the roads and weather conditions as well. She truly went above and beyond and we will book with here again for sure!

Beautiful snow capped mountains early in the year. Picturesque mountains abundant with wildlife throughout the year. Streams, hiking trails, and 4X4 trails combined with local attractions/activities year round make this an unforgettable experience.
  • Theodore was GREAT at accommodating with our schedule. He was more than willing to assist in any way possible. Our trip was compromised by COVID-19 and He was so helpful in the process. I will definitely be coming back in the future.

It is 3 rooms, 1 bath and a full kitchen. It also has a bbq and a fire pit outside. It had a game room and a laundry with washers and dryers. Great place to go with kids or friends we had a great time. The staff on sight were great extremely helpful.

  • If you are looking for a convenient place to stay to enjoy the outdoors and don't like camping in a tent, this is the place for you! The camper is stocked with all the amenities you need! They have a nice patio and a fire pit to enjoy sitting outside. The hummingbirds were so fun to watch! I was a little concerned about privacy because the camper sits right next to the owners house but once you pulled around the camper, it felt as if you had the mountains to yourself! Lisa is a great host!

    Rita2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was awesome! We had a great stay at Lisa's RV, it was very clean and had everything we needed. Lisa was a great communicator and a wonderful host. We will definitely stay here again when heading to the mountains.

    Karen2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The RV is located near the highway, but honestly we didn't hear any traffic and we slept with the windows open. It was spotless, comfy, and parked so you felt like no one was around. We would stay there again for sure.

    Brenda2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in Lisa’s trailer! It was much roomier than we expected, it was very comfy, clean and the thoughtful touches were appreciated. We loved walking around their pond. Also, Lisa’s local tips were outstanding!

  • Just book it.

    John2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, both the rv and its location. Lovely place to wake up and see the mountains. Lots of accommodations and just an overall relaxing place to be. Highly recommend if you are passing through this area.

    Dani2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you are considering this camper, stop thinking and just book it now! Holy cow, this place was way cooler than we expected. The place is totally decked out with amenities and is super comfortable. At night, we got to build a campfire right next to the camper and sit in lounge chairs while we told jokes and gazed at the billions of beautiful stars only available in places like this. One tip to people who have never stayed in a camper before: Take your showers really fast. My wife and son got to learn that one. I guess I should have warned them, LOL. We can't wait to come back as there is so much more we want to do and experience and we just plain loved this place, that much.

We have intentionally tried to preserve as much of the ranch house as possible while still updating the house to today’s standards. The most notable piece of history is the Monarch cook stove in the kitchen, the doorways and doors that are not as tall as today’s standards, the original wood floor in the master bedroom and original moulding around some of the doors. The house is a 3-bedroom, 1-bath house with all the amenities from home. We hope you enjoy our little piece of ranch history!
The ranch house was built sometime in the early 1900s. We aren't sure of the exact date. It started out as a one or two room house. Throughout time additional rooms have been added on.
The ranch house is located on our family's ranch which has been in the family since 1890. Our family came to Colorado in 1865 prior to the Civil War before Colorado became a state. While staying at the house you can look out the window and see the horses in the corrals. If you walk to our corrals you can see pigs and cows depending on the time of the year. Our ranch house is conveniently located approximately 5 miles from the town of Salida. If you're into fly fishing the house is within waking distance to the Everett Fishing Lease on the Arkansas River. You can also hop in the car and be there in a couple minutes. If you wish to go to Mount Princeton Hot Springs the house is about 20 minutes away. If your planning to go skiing, Monarch Ski Resort is about half an hour away.
  • Brady and Kim are wonderful hosts and provide the perfect home with its rustic country charm complete with antiques and farm animals! It has a cozy comfortable feel of staying at Grandma’s farmhouse. Very clean and has everything you need to for a comfortable stay to make lasting memories with your family. Highly recommended and would love to stay again!! Brady and Kim are quick to respond to questions and are very friendly and helpful, but give you all the privacy you want to relax and enjoy your stay.

What is all the buzz about: “Just what is that adorable, new little house down near the river?” It’s the perfect little spot we lovingly created just for your getaway! Our brand new tiny house, nicknamed the “tiny mansion” by locals, is 360 sq ft plus loft space. Located in South Main, an acclaimed new urbanist neighborhood. A short stroll from the river/trails, parks, South Main Square & downtown. Book now and mountain solitude, outdoor adventure, hip eateries & shops will all be steps away!
***New, June 2019 - for the additional comfort of our guest we have just added Air Conditioning to the Tiny Treat. *** We thoughtfully designed our Tiny Treat based on the overwhelming success of our nearby “River Trail Retreat” apartment and how much we truly have enjoyed hosting guests there. Our new town logo, “Surround yourself with what matters,” is very apropos for a tiny house and we have carefully designed it to do just that: not only is it’s location ideal for accessing all area attractions, but we have meticulously outfitted the interior with everything you need for your getaway (and nothing you don’t)! We even placed a wall hook in just the right spot for a bride to hang her gown. That said, if there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable, we’re only a block away and happy to help! Located in the nationally acclaimed South Main neighborhood, our 360 sq ft tiny house is fully equipped with a kitchen, full bath, private bedroom with queen bed, living room, and loft. The classically designed exterior with its vibrant color scheme is paired with a cozy, rustic modern farmhouse interior. Wi-Fi is included and while furniture, linens, TV, and DVD are all brand new, we have also lovingly incorporated vintage treasures throughout the home. Please see the "Other things to note" section below for information about nearby construction. Kitchen -- Full kitchen includes electric range, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal, coffee maker (with complimentary coffee sample from the local roastery), toaster oven, blender, and the cookware necessary to make a gourmet meal. While appliances are slightly scaled down you’ll be surprised by how little that impacts your cooking - we certainly were! Living Room – Brand new 40" TV/Blu-ray DVD player, DVD’s and books to use during your stay, including our favorite local guidebooks/maps for hiking, fishing, rock climbing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, bird watching and wildflower viewing. We have also provided books on Colorado history and tiny house living. Full-size (i.e., smaller than queen) sofa sleeper with lots of comfy throw pillows so you can really snuggle in for a good read or flick, then convert it to a comfy bed for a good night’s sleep. Bedroom -- Cozy iron frame queen bed with oversized down alternative comforter, antique wardrobe closet, and restful essential oil aromatherapy. Stacked washer and dryer with eco-friendly laundry supplies. Bathroom -- Shower stocked with luxurious essential oil body wash/shampoo for him and her, unbelievably soft towels, hair dryer and plenty of storage for your personal items. Stunning encaustic tile floor. Dining -- Dining for four is at the extended kitchen counter butcher block bar. Enjoy sweeping views of stunning Mt. Princeton sunrises while sipping your morning coffee here (sample of local roast provided), or gorgeous evening sunsets with a glass of wine. Loft -- Ah, the space the young and young-at-heart will adore! Two convertible chairs for lounging that convert to twin XL mattresses. Books, games, puzzles and storage for your things. Decor -- Decor is inspired by our love of local history, nature and the great outdoors. Throughout the home you will find mementos of local and Colorado history, including a rare leather postcard from nearby Twin Lakes postmarked 1907 and a vintage Buena Vista map from 1882. We have also added nods here and there to our appreciation of the local avifauna. Sarah spent countless hours antiquing for just the right treasure to place here or there. With our limited space we have carefully chosen utilitarian objects to do double duty: they are fun to look at, but also practical to use, such as a vintage metal trivet, measuring spoons, grater and measuring cup all from the 1950s. Kitchen cabinet knobs are upcycled vintage valve handles from the 1960s, and our kids carefully selected exactly which one should go where. Recreation Access - Hiking, biking, bouldering, trail running, fishing, wildlife viewing, kayaking, rafting and SUPing are mere steps away. The house is about a block from the Buena Vista Boulder Garden, which provides rock climbing features for all levels from children to advanced. Adjacent to the Boulder Garden are several access points to the stunning Arkansas River trail. To access the Midland Mountain trail system and thousands of acres of BLM land, take a pleasant, short jaunt north along the river trail. Within a five-minute walk you can also enjoy Buena Vista's municipal tennis courts, disc golf course, pump track, new skate park and a brand new playground. Cottonwood and Mt Princeton hot spring resorts are each a twenty minute drive and Monarch and Ski Cooper ski resorts are both less than an hour away. Dining and Shopping Access - Within a five-minute walk you can enjoy a riverside mouth-watering gourmet meal featuring local farm to table fare at Wesley and Rose (inside the new Surf Hotel), pizza and an IPA from the Eddyline Brewpub, an espresso and to-die-for cup of homemade gelato at the Midland Stop, or the weekly farmers market (June through early October) and free summertime concerts at the South Main square. You will also find Rock Run Gallery, Sundance, and Adventure Hub: retailers collectively offering gifts, clothing, handmade leather goods and shoes, and fine art. Main Street, with its myriad shops and restaurants is a short 10 min walk away. If that’s not enough to convince you already, it’s a tiny house. I mean come on, how cool is that? We’ve even had tiny house aficionados stop and tell us that ours is one of the most well thought out tiny houses they’ve seen. Wow! This cozy space is not just another second home overseen by a property management company. When you stay with us, you are in your own private residence lovingly designed and built by us. We care for and maintain the property ourselves, which means close attention to detail and a very clean and tidy home away from home atmosphere. We use eco and people friendly cleaning products wherever possible. If there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable, we live about a block away and are happy to help. Bookings for this special, new property are rolling in so book now! We look forward to your visit! Buena Vista Short Term Rental License #STR18-053.
South Main is a nationally acclaimed New Urbanist neighborhood adjacent to the Arkansas River at the edge of downtown Buena Vista. What does that mean? Strict architectural standards and quaint landscaping throughout the neighborhood provide an inviting atmosphere for tourists and residents alike. Each home is painstakingly custom, developed through close partnership between the homeowner and architect. Mixed-use architecture includes single family residences, row houses, “live-work” buildings, apartments, businesses, a hotel, and rental properties (this listing, for example). Public spaces are thoughtfully designed for people, not cars. Narrow streets slow traffic and are pedestrian and bike friendly. All this translates to a vibrant neighborhood where people live, work, visit, shop, eat and play. Our unique little neighborhood is often the backdrop for engagement, wedding, commercial and other professional photo sessions. Yeah, it’s that pretty here! Beyond the architectural beauty of South Main, the people here are great too. Residents are about 50/50 full-time vs. part-time, and demographics range from retirees to young families with small children, and everything in between. The vibe is surreally pleasant, almost Rockwellian. We often hear comments questioning the authenticity of this special spot. No, we’re not filming another “Truman Show,” or “Pleasantville.” Summer visitors often ask what it’s like to live in a neighborhood with so many tourists and vacation renters. My wife tells them, “Are you kidding? Everyone here is enjoying themselves. They’re on vacation, they’re getting married, going to a wedding or family reunion.” You know the expression, “Find a happy place?” You’ve found it!
  • JJ, Sarah and Thuy have created a delightful little casita that has both style, functionality and comfort. Everything you need for a lovely visit is in their house. They were very responsive and helpful about sharing great tips about Buena Vista and surrounding attractions. I only am sad we didn’t get to stay longer! Hopefully we’ll get the chance to come back soon. Our family loved it!

    Rose2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this tiny treat! Close to the river, which was a beautiful walk. Close to a cute coffee shop that was walkable as well as the restaurant Wesley & Rose in the Surf Hotel. Highly recommend! And only about 20 minutes to the Mt. Princeton hot springs! Great hosts and hospitality :)

    Rachel2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Such a wonderful find in Buena Vista. We loved our stay! The tiny house is thoughtfully organized and so clean! JJ and Sarah are great hosts and provided helpful recommendations in the area and a very well equipped place to stay. We will definitely be back!

    Ellen2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is easily in my favorite Airbnb we’ve stayed in. I’m a little sad we didn’t plan to stay longer. It’s an adorable space that is well thought out and has all the small touches to make it a comfortable stay. It’s a quick walk to Wesley and Rose (I highly recommend them for food and cocktails), easy to find, close enough to walk downtown, a short drive to the hot springs. The neighborhood is very quiet (disclaimer that is is winter season. I can’t say for summer). Beds were comfortable and well supplied. Literally our only complaint would be that the floors were a little cold on socks, but it is February. We’ll definitely be back to stay.

    Lara2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Quite a lovely little place! This is a prime example of a tiny home so if you've wondered what it would be like to live in one this a fantastic opportunity. It was laid out well, very clean, and plenty of thoughtful touches. It is also located in a valley on the edge of town with spectacular views of the Rockies. Highly recommended!

    David2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Tiny house was the biggest treat our my life. Sarah and JJ have thought about every detail. There was not anything we needed that had not already been thought of. Honestly If you we’re building a tiny house I would go visit because the details were amazing! Thank you for making our honeymoon outstanding!!!

    Amy2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • If you're thinking of going tiny and also of visiting the beautiful Rocky mountains then this is the place for you! Loved all the little touches throughout the home and the location to downtown BV can't be beat. Had it been warm out, we would have walked to the restaurants and shops. We will for sure stay again!

You are welcome to thoroughly enjoy a pocket of 1950's fantasy and simplicity! Snuggled at the skirt of Monarch (8300ft up) in an enchanting aspen grove with the South Ark river in your front 'yard'. Then enter into Shangri-La retreat of gently bent rattan furniture, original (and slightly adapted) retro kitchen, down billowing the bed... ah! then enter into the cabana overlooking crashing waves and the palm tree that your mermaid sits under waiting to offer you sweet incense for the sauna!
11 miles to Salida and the Arkansas River and rafting/fishing. 11 miles to Monarch Ski area and the Great Divide. And the Colorado Trail, Greens Creek, Willow Creek and miles and miles and miles of unfenced adventures in between - right out your door!
Quite private and picturesque neighborhood. We are known for our Red Schoolhouse, mining days history (when Maysville was called 'Crazy Town', North Fork camping, Angel of Shavano waterfall, Foos and 'Damn-it' and other very close fishing lakes, mountain biking, walking and hiking, and oh, did I say "Quiet, Private and Peaceful"?
  • Perfect location for skiing and going into town. There is an amazing fire pit next to the river, and sunrises and sunsets are amazing by the mountain side. Deborah's kitchen amenities were perfect- everything you need for cooking. Comfy bed. Super neat shower and sauna area. Lots of bathroom amenities. Lots of board game options. Deborah went out of her way to help me complete a birthday surprise for my boyfriend by leaving balloons and a cake for him, which was sooo perfect. Talk about hospitality! Due to the small space and no solid doors, I would not recommend this for a first date ;) but since this wasn't our first date, everything was perfect. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to get away from town and enjoy the mountains. There is WiFi and a TV. 15 minutes to Monarch Ski area and 15 minutes to Salida.

    Greta2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay! The home was in a beautiful location, we had a few peaceful meals by the riverside. The sauna was incredible, and they left such delicious bread for us! We had a wonderful stay, and we would absolutely come again. Thank you so much for the kindness and generosity.

    Cathy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gem. A wonderful location for skiing, or just checking out the area. It is quiet, and cozy.

    Shannon2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Honestly one of the best AirBnB's I've ever stayed in. I was searching for a good adjective to describe Maysville Palms when I was there, and I thought of the word "magical". It's obvious that Deborah put incredible time and effort into the space, and it truly shows. We instantly felt welcome and at home. Everything was sparkling clean, in good working order, and perhaps most importantly, comfortable. I couldn't recommend this place enough!

    Joe2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cannot say enough good things about this stay. If you stay here you will not regret your decision! So relaxing. Host and hostess out of this world!!!

    Laura2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a weekend away. 15 minutes from Monarch Mountain. Love the little details inside the cottage. Deborah and Stan are great hosts.

    Jennifer2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was our 2nd stay here and it was great once again! Stan & Deborah are so welcoming and provided us with snowshoes as well as suggestions on where to go. We love the sauna and the whole vibe of the barn. This is one of our favorite places!

    Lillie2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This experience set high standards for all other AirBNB spaces... Deborah is extravagrant in her generosity and hospitality. The genuine old barn has been transformed into a cozy but spacious retreat, with plenty of privacy and amazing views. The location is perfect for skiing Monarch and enjoying quaint Salida and all the surrounding beauty.

This room is very sunny and bright, king bed with views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains south of Salida. Includes private bathroom and shower.
Our favorite room. Decorated in red and gray, there is a photo of Venice that reminds us of our favorite B&B ever. There is one king bed with a private bathroom and a gas fireplace. The bathroom and shower are carved out of closets original to the house, and the shower opens directly into the room. This room is very sunny and bright, with views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains south of Salida.

Bienvenidos a Casa Sandoval! Originally built in 1908, this adobe casa housed railroad workers for decades. Recently brought back to life with fresh charm and an uplifting vibe, this warm abode is a perfect place from which to explore Salida, the Arkansas Hills trails, or go ski Monarch. After a day of adventures nestle in by the fire with a good book and mug of cocoa. Whatever you do, you're sure to feel the magic of Casa Sandoval. **Book now to lock in these introductory rates!**
Nestled against Tenderfoot Mountain, Casa Sandoval is perfectly situated both in and out of town. On the other side of the Arkansas River, Casa Sandoval's quiet half acre comes with great views of the night sky, the Sangre de Cristos, and the Collegiate Peaks, and is yet a mere 5 minute walk to the "F street bridge" and downtown Salida. Trailheads to the Arkansas Hills Trails system are roughly 100 yards from your front door to boot! The house itself has an open kitchen and living room with the wood burning stove of your dreams. Big windows and french doors offer 180 degree views of town and the surrounding peaks. You'll find two warm bedrooms and TV room/ study in the back of the house. The celestial bathroom will take you to new heights as well. Finally, as you settle in, you may begin to notice that Casa Sandoval is unlike any other vacation rental in which you may have stayed. The magic of this land drew the Sandoval's who lived here and worked the railroad for over 70 years. Hard to put into words, there's something inspiring and uplifting--invigorating and reassuring. Kind of like a good hug from your favorite college professor, or the satisfaction you get from finally solving that rubix cube. The pieces just seem to come together here.
Its Salida! Enough said. Go have a cup of coffee and a scone at the local coffee house. Wander the shops and galleries. Go listen to a concert at the Steamplant. Grab some pizza at Moonlight or a whiskey at the mayor's distillery. But if town's not your jam, then wander the trails and the hills up behind the house. Maybe rent a bike in town? Go out a little further and get into the Sangres or the Collegiates. If it's warm enough, go jump in the river. Or if there's snow, make the 15 minute drive up to Monarch Ski area. Really, you just can't go wrong.
  • Great place to stay!

    Lyle2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • A beyond beautiful space with colorful and stylish touches, in a perfect location! We would stay here again every time. The home felt cozy, fun, and welcoming. We loved the mountain views from the windows and the close proximity to town. And the hosts were very responsive. Loved everything about our stay and can’t wait to return.

    Amelia2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best air bnb experience I’ve ever had. It was a perfect, private get away for my husband and I. The space and energy is incredible. So much intention and hygge has gone into this place. I appreciated that they had a coffee grinder and French press, and offered some tea options as well. It’s within walking distance of downtown- it’s just across the River. If you’re visiting Salida I highly recommend staying here.

    Katie2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is an amazing, peaceful, and cozy little sanctuary. Plenty of space for a small group (two couples) or just a short weekend retreat for two. The fireplace is just the cherry on top of the already wonderful ambiance. We will definitely be back during the warmer months to utilize the outdoor fire pit and adorable porch that all has a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains. The hosts were great with communication and their managers were more then accommodating with any requests.

    Alex2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Casa Sandoval was great! The house is adorable and very clean! The host was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Wood was even sorted and stacked for easy use of the wood stove. The door code was also provided a few hours prior to check in to ensure there was no stress upon arrival. It was also comforting to know that the host was available by phone the entire weekend if we had any questions or concerns.

  • We loved our stay at Casa Sandavol! It was the perfect place to relax after a weekend of skiing at Monarch. We will definitely stay here if we visit Salida again!

  • Sarah’s place was great. It was within walking distance of downtown and places around town. Sarah went out of her way to help us out. Great host!

  • Perfect place for a stop-over on our way to Telluride. Sarah was quick to respond, and the place was in a great location.

  • The description is very accurate! Everything was very clean and cozy. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet and friendly, we even saw a deer and a fawn across the street from where we were. We had a lovely time!

  • Colleen's place is immaculately clean, stylish and a super convenient launch point for mountain adventures. The bed is extremely comfortable and the space is peaceful-- a great spot for getting in a good night's rest. The views from this place are also phenomenal. We were very lucky to find Colleen's place as we were traveling through the area and booked last-minute. Despite our lack of planning, her communication and hospitality were excellent!

  • Nice, clean space that provides everything we needed. Separated from the house, the room is private and large.

  • Colleen’s place was cozy and comfortable. Perfect for our needs and easy access to Salida.

    Anne2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We were very pleased staying here. The room is cozy and comfortable, the carpet is super cushy and soft (great for walking around in socks at the end of a long day of hiking), the shower is awesome (hot and strong spray), and the bed is comfortable (slept great!). Great communication with the owner. PS, when you put the address in your maps, make sure you add the zip code - there are two of the addresses in that vicinity.

Come enjoy our private 5 acres of Pinon trees with the convenience of being 5 minutes from town. Enjoy the joys of children on property and views of incredible mountains with the wildlife that frequents our "back yard". Relax in our private guest lockoff including a kitchenette and laundry area, all separated from the rest of the house by a custom built barn door.
Our remodeled lockoff has several unique features that create the atmosphere of rest, relaxation and fun. To name some specifics, a jetted bathtub, an outside hot tub, a comfy and spacious bedroom, and an area to make meals (sink, microwave, stovetop burner, mini-fridge, a Keurig coffee maker, and all the dishes you may need). It is all set up and ready!
We live in an extremely relaxed neighborhood. You cannot see or hear our neighbors through the trees.
  • Great place! plenty of space, great amenities, really pretty view

  • Just what we needed after a week of skiing in Telluride. BV is a great place to stop to break up a long drive. The hot tub was perfect and the bed was very comfy!

    Julie2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The unit is so wonderful! In addition to the luxurious comfort of the bed, I was surprised to find a deep bathtub with jets! I was in heaven.

    Lydia2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing for the price. Just outside of town. Clean and great customer service.

    Ashley2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Easy to check in and out. The space is set up with everything you need, amazing views of the night sky from the hot tub.

  • We loved our stay here. Brooke communicated all details with us before and during our visit. We stay during February and there was plenty of heat and space heaters to keep us warm, especially since don’t live in a cold climate. Brooke was very responsive to our questions and checked in on us to ensure all was well. We even braved the hot tub one night! Located only minutes from town and our family whom we were visiting. The bed was comfortable and the environment was private. We could hear the family at times but not all that much. sharing their home made our trip possible without breaking the bank. We would and probably will return again.

    Byron2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay in buena vista! Brooke and her husband showed great hospitality and ensured we didn’t need anything else to feel more comfortable. Definitely recommend this stay!

  • Great location with clean and modern rooms. The vibe of this place was really nice.

  • We were unable to complete our stay due to a breakdown

    Byron2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • You will love the updated rooms and how clean everything is! We enjoyed sitting out in a couple of the many common spaces! Also, the staff I met and talked with were engaging and helpful. I even came back with a couple of wet and sandy dogs. I was able to hose them off and let them dry in the sun thanks to the staff!

  • Really Nice folks! Clean, convenient and very comfortable!

    Linda2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • The room was clean, comfortable, and with a nice style. The outdoor areas to hang out in were great as well. They also kindly accommodated our need to check in a bit early in order to get ready for a wedding.

    Ed2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Best atmosphere in Saluda living space! Loved all of it. The view of the mountains from our room, the hot tubs and pool, the patio to watch the clouds go by and the stars at night, even games to play in the common area, and l9ve the idea of a black washcloth for makeup removal. Most importantly the feel of love for a beloved furry friend, Loyal Duke is everywhere...from the welcome mat in the room to the welcoming of pets accompanying you. We will definitely will stay here everytime we come to Salida.

  • We stayed in the Loyal Duke Lodge Queen, perfect for two people looking to distress far from Denver. Communication with Skeeter was quick and efficient. When we checked in we were greeted by Steve who was very friendly and informative and directed us towards F street - a 3 min. drive from the lodge - there you will find Salidas Main Street with different restaurants, boutiques and a river walk. The room had thoughtful amenities down to the plastic rocks glasses great to take to either one of two New LED lit jacuzzis located outside by the pool or the amazing smelling shampoo and body wash. They had a very cozy fire pit / pic-nic area excellent for grilling out- wait for night fall the pic-nic area is covered in cute twinkly lights. For our one night stay in Salida the lodge was the perfect choice. Thank you again!
