Communication was excellent. Everything was as expected and felt very welcome. I would describe the apartment more of a family friendly guesthouse. Comfy, clean, quiet, high speed internet, complimentary treats/fruit and cable television were all very much appreciated. Don't forget about the built-in hidden table or sitting to have a meal may be a little awkward. I would stay here again for the great value, friendly hosts and all the above.

Very cozy very nice

This is a fantastic place to base yourself for Lake Tahoe and the surrounding area. The cottage is beautiful and well-equipped for a restful night's sleep - as well as to cook your own meals. The hosts were lovely and very knowledgeable about the area. They recommended some excellent hikes on the Nevada side near Genoa/Eagle Ridge, which we enjoyed. We have been using Airbnb for nearly 4 years, and this was one of our favorites!!

Dana was such a wonderful host! She provided everything we needed and more. I'd stay here just for the heated floors alone :)

We really enjoyed our stay. The condo was a 30 min drive to the slopes and even shorter to south lake tahoe and tobogganing. The complex was quiet and the condo was cute and clean. Devon was easy to work with and responded to messages right away. We stayed here with our 3 kids and 2 dogs and there was plenty of room. There is a dog area within the complex and a kids playground about a block away. We would definitely stay again. Thank you Devon!

The townhouse was nicer than the photos suggested- it's a relatively new building with good sound insulation and there was plenty of room for our small family. Devon was a great communicator and extremely welcoming- when the storm system closed every highway heading west except US50, she offered to have us return for a third night if we needed it. After a long day out snowboarding, my boyfriend and I were looking for somewhere to crash for the evening before heading out in the early morning. Avilone's space provided us with all that we needed with a few added homely comforts. The space is exactly as described- located in a small mountain town, Avilone's home is in a quiet, peaceful residential area. Avilone showed us our room which had our bed, a space heater, a small fridge, and a basket full of cleaning supplies. Bedroom and bathroom were both very clean, and we were provided shampoo/conditioner/body wash for the shower as well as plenty of clean towel and warm blankets. Avilone also provided us access to her garage to store our snowboards for the evening, and had warm coffee and yummy muffins waiting for us in the kitchen the morning before we headed out. Overall it had all we were looking for, very peaceful and homely space for us to rest up for an evening.

We had a very welcoming and comfortable stay with Avilone. The house was super clean, both Avilone and her daughter friendly, and we ended up enjoying each other's company sharing food and conversation. If you want a bonus, inquire about Avilone's sound healing journey she is able to provide with gong, chimes, and crystal and Tibetan singing bowls - you won't get this at your average bnb! A great experience.

Truly one of my best experiences with Airbnb! The room has all you need and a nice large bed and you have your own lovely bathroom. We had full access to the entire house including a nice garden, where we had our breakfast and morning coffee. There were very kind and helpful in giving recommendations for activities around Lake Tahoe. We felt at home from the second we entered the house and I would definetely recommend staying there.

The guest house was very cozy and comftorable, and it is well suited for those wishing to have more of a cottage-like experience. It is located very close to downtown Gardnerville. Check out JT Basque Restaraunt for some excellent food (minutes away)

This place felt like home during our stay. We did not meet Elizabeth during our stay but she accommodated our early check in time and the place was clean and ready for our arrival. The cottage itself is cozy and we spent a lot of our time there just listening to music, having some drinks, and soaking in the hot tub. There are plenty of fast food places nearby if you want something quick, as well as a Wal Mart and Grocery Outlet if you want to get some groceries for cooking. We tried the Thai restaurant that was recommended and it was delicious and very affordable (compared to SF prices). One of the days we wanted to see a little more snow so we drove 30 minutes to South Lake Tahoe and it was a great little day trip. The local town has casinos, saloons, antique stores, a small museum, and at night there are tons of Christmas lights to light up the street. This is a great place for people who want to relax and be away from the crowds. All the people in town are super friendly too. Would love to return here again someday!

What a wonderful experience! Elizabeth was a wonderful hostess and her cottage was impeccable. Between the cozy loft bed, kitchenette with all the amenities, flat-screen TV with all your favorite Netflix shows, and bubbling hot tub beneath the starts, you'd think you were in a five-star resort. However, waking up to a beautiful sunrise over the rolling snowy hills, greeting the grazing cows in the neighboring pasture, and spending a cozy evening sipping complementary tea and coffee made for a lovely home away from home. Just a 25 minute drive down the mountain from South Lake Tahoe, you can really appreciate the proximity to all the lake activities and restaurants but still feel the privacy and quiet of the farmland in Gardnerville. Perfect getaway stay for a couple. We can't wait to visit again!

Our third time at the cottage - just as good as we remembered it, beautiful, comfortable place!

Cozy little place, (URL HIDDEN) could stand a good cleaning along with getting rid of spiders and their webs. Don't bring a lot of food because the refrigerator is the small type found in motels. And coffee maker didn't work.

We were close enough to everything without the high prices and congestion of accommodations closer to the lake. Best value around without compromising comfort and aesthetics. We spent 5 wonderful days at Elizabeth's cottage and really enjoyed the location. It is pretty close to Heavenly ski resort / south Lake Tahoe. It took us about 30min to get there in the morning. The place was clean and very quiet. It does look a little bigger in the pictures but was perfectly find for two. The kitchen was equipped with all we needed. Unfortunately we could not use the jacuzzi that we looked forward to after a day of skiing as it turned out that it was broken and it could not get fixed while we were there. The bathroom does not have heating and for us got pretty cold. While during the day we had the radiator on in order to be warm enough at night the central heating (the vents are in the wall on each side of the bed) was set quite high and it got very hot even when we closed the vents. All in all we enjoyed ourselves and had a good time but think the place is a little overpriced for what it offers.

My boyfriend had a lovely stay in Avilone's home. The room was very cozy and the bed super comfortable. We even woke up to snow !!! Very cute town, we were able to go to Tahoe, Reno, and Genoa all in one day, and even finished with some bowling at Carson Lanes which was cheap and super fun! Highly recommend. Stephanie was super-accommodating in accepting my last-minute request to stay at her house for a wedding I was to attend in Tahoe. Her location provided easy access to both Tahoe & the highway back to Reno Intl airport the next morning. Room was very nice, tidy, clean, warm & welcoming. I even had a box of Valentine's chocolates waiting in the room for me - a pleasant surprise!! All the info I needed to get hooked into Wi-Fi was provided, making taking care of business back home quick and easy. A list was provided to find eateries and hiking trails. We appreciated that towels were provided so we didn't have to bring those. I definitely plan to stay here again!! Thank you both so much!!

The view from the inside/outside of the house was fascinating. Shawn showed the house condition accurately on the Airbnb website. The neighborhood is nice and friendly. This place is a gem located near a quaint, small town in the Lake Tahoe area. In addition, Carson City and Gardnersville are close by so that you do not have to go Costco and Target withdrawal. The staff was friendly and helpful. The mineral spring whirlpools and hot tubs were amazing. There is a cafe, next to the spa, serves great lunches and breakfasts. The "studio" is really more like a large hotel room. A couple of the photos were misleading, as they pictured the brand new time share apartments and not this studio.

Wonderful place. Just like a hotel really. Noisy neighbor next door at 2:00 a.m. but once I told him I could here every word he was saying, he quieted down. Great value having the hot tubs,etc... available for the price of the room! Loved the Happy Hour at the bar!

Had a wonderful time staying in the studio at David Walley's Spa. The front desk is very friendly and helpful. They take special care to make sure you have everything you need. It was wonderful to have free access to the hot springs. If you stay in the hotel then you have to pay 50 dollars per person per day but since this is a rental of a time share you get full FREE access. The restaurant and cafe on the premises are fantastic with great burgers. Also Genoa (2 miles down the road) is a fantastic little town with the oldest continuously running bar in Nevada and cute little country store. I would also recommend checking out the Pink House which is a little cheese store and restaurant which serves delicious food.

I enjoyed my stay here in the studio. It was a quiet and peaceful location located near Tahoe, spots to explore north and south (Yosemite). I enjoyed going to the hot spring pools every night. My only issue with the studio is how it connects to the other room. I could hear the people on the other side. My suggestion would be to install a heavier door between the studio and the 1 br units.

I stayed with Lynette over the course of 4 months while I worked in Carson. Her and Trevor were the best hosts, everynight it was like coming home to family, but you also have your privacy. The bedroom is roomy, bed in comfortable. Everything you need to relax or be productive.

I was in the area for a local event for four days. Communication with Lynette beforehand was great, and I checked in in the evening. Nice residential neighborhood, Keurig coffee in the morning, and their cat who eyed me warily 8^) Clean bathroom, good size bedroom, both very clean, and Wi-Fi. Very comfortable

Staying with Lynette and Trevor was a pleasure. We had our own room and bathroom which was great! The way the bathroom was decorated reminded me of my own home by the beach. I liked so much how there was a cat to pet because I'm an animal person. Everything about their home was very similar to staying at our parents house, very welcoming. Skiing at the mountain heavenly is only about 35-40 minutes away, which is where we spent most of our time. There's not much better you can get price/ distance wise. I would recommend staying here!

We were going up to Tahoe for the weekend and were delighted about the cheap listing for the holidays. Kent was great as a host - he gave timely, thoughtful, and professional responses to any questions I had. Unfortunately, the 3 stars is for the overall experience. When we entered the condo, we expected housekeeping to have already cleaned the space. However, we found half-full garbage bins, dirty towels, and used bedsheets. Housekeeping never showed up after multiple requests. Even when we hung the "Maid" sign outside our door for a whole day, no one came to clean. In addition, much of their equipment is outdated or outright disconnected, which was disappointing. I didn't try the mineral bath so I can't comment. Wi-fi barely works (we did get a heads up) so I would plan accordingly. The balcony view definitely looks better in pictures than in person. On the plus side, there is indoor heating which you will really appreciate if you're escaping the snow. There is nothing to see at the resort, but you will be fairly close to a few hotspots. Heavenly Ski Resort is full of dining options and holiday activities. I also recommend checking out Emerald Bay for sunrise - it's absolutely gorgeous. There's a Costco and Raley's within a 20-30 min drive if you need anything. For a cheap stay near Tahoe you will get exactly that. Just don't set your expectations too high.
