'The Howff' is a refurbished farm worker's bothy in a rural location with lots of walks and access to beautiful parts of Perthshire. One hour's drive from Edinburgh, 20 mins Dundee or Perth. This authentic bothy contains one room with single bed, wood burning stove, mini kitchen unit with fridge, oven, portable hob and kettle, separate shower room, wc, basin. Linen, towels, logs included. Although small, The Howff is warm and cosy and makes a perfect retreat. Please note for ONE only.
This is totally unique but please make sure you have read the description of the space.
The neighbourhood is well known for its connection with Macbeth and the bothy is on the lower slopes of Dunsinane Hill made famous by Shakespeare. Magnificent views from the top.
  • Just a perfect space to rest and work! Really well equipped and surprisingly spacious. Would highly recommend! Satnav may take you to the wrong place using the autogenerated map though so be sure to follow Jeanie's instructions! It is a few miles through Balbeggie set up on the lower hillside below an impressive crag. Cant recommend this enough. Excellent value and a fab host!

  • I stayed here for 3 weeks to do some writing and I can honestly say it was AMAZING. Jeanie has provided everything you need - a cosy room with a bed, kitchen, bathroom, desk and a little wood burner that kept it all warm during some very wintry storms! The area is absolutely fantastic and is extremely inspirational to get those artistic fires burning; there are some beautiful walks in the woods and up the Sidlaws. It's also only a short drive to Dundee or Perth, or Edinburgh (about an hour) where there are cinemas, museums and so on. Jeanie is a brilliant host, she was there when I needed and made herself scarce when I was in the writing flow. She had lots of recommendations for walks or things to see and do if I needed a break from writing. She has a lovely little dog too which is always an added bonus! I honestly can't recommend this place enough if you need somewhere to write, be creative or just need some peace and quiet away from everyday life. It's perfect.

  • My friends and I had a wonderful stay at Laurent’s family home. The accomodation is very well presented and spacious. It is in a beautiful setting in close proximity to Dundee and local sights. Great value and hospitality.

    Tony2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely place to stay and Laurent was very kind and helpful. It was a little further out of Dundee than I thought but that may have been my error. The buses aren’t great but there is building work going on locally so I assume in the future this will improve. We walked to ninewells hospital (about 40 mins) and got a bus into town from there. Taxis weren’t overly expensive either. Laurent was very friendly and helpful. He was even kind enough to give us a lift.

    Alex2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and me had a great time here, it was very easy to find and get to. The bed is very comfortable and Laurent and his wife Sian were really welcoming and brilliant hosts. Highly recommend coming here

    Daniel2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Super night at Laurent's, very welcoming, friendly and good advice for the rest of our trip!

  • I had a lovely stay at Laurent's place and would definitely recommend you book here. Laurent was very welcoming. The accommodation was clean and very comfortable. There was plenty of parking space and good wifi. I had everything I needed. The surroundings were very pleasant and the collie and kitten were a super cute addition. Thanks for having me :)

Situated at the foot of Dunsinnan Hill, this recently renovated beautiful cottage in rural Perthshire is more than a 100years old. It is a great place to relax and is ideal for hill walkers with beautiful countryside in this area. It is well located for Carse of Gowrie wedding venues - Fingask, Errol Park and Guardswell Farm all within 15 minutes from Cottage. Collace is very near to Dundee and Perth both approx 20 minutes away. A car is essential as there is no public transport.
Newly renovated country cottage, bright and airy with log burning stove. Logs supplied.
  • What a lovely place to stay. Very clean and cosy. Loved the welcoming treats and of course the log burner.

    Julie2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location, very peaceful and quiet. Very clean and tidy.

    John2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We can honestly say this is the loveliest Airbnb we have stayed it. Roomy, lovely decor, all facilities and amenities you could want, great host, peaceful, cosy, great woodburner, all added up to a wonderful stay. Don’t think twice, Book now!

    Selena2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is beautiful, so nice and cosy. Loved the wood burner and watching the dancing flames, so warm. It was immaculate, very fresh and clean. Sally was a great host, very friendly and helpful. She helped us arrange a taxi from our wedding venue - a friendly and punctual driver. The raspberry jam is delicious, the flavour just explodes in your mouth - reminded me of my granny’s. We had an absolutely gorgeous long weekend, so peaceful and tranquil with an open view of the countryside and hills. You just couldn’t help relax, hopefully we will return in the future and do more exploring in Perthshire and Tayside. Fabulous accommodation.

    Kirsty2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sally’s place is a real gem. Tucked away in a small village, quiet and peaceful for a getaway. The log fire was a real treat and enjoyed working it too. Sally and her partner were really friendly and quick to respond if we had any questions. Definitely looking forward to visiting again in the near future.

    Laura2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Sally’s place is great value and perfect for a quiet few days. We stayed for two nights and would happily book again if returning to the area. A car is needed but Sally makes sure you know where to go and there’s easy parking at the door. The log fire was great and easy to use and the whole house was absolutely spotless. Perth and Dundee are about 15 minutes away and the antiques centre at Abernyte is well worth a visit.

    Paul2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is amazing. The location is in perfect. The host is great. I would definitely stay here again 100%.

    Peter2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in this cottage was absolutely fantastic, we loved our weekend and Sally is so friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the idiot's guide to build a fire and the homemade raspberry Jam.

My place is half way between Perth and Dundee 1 hour from Edinburgh and Glasgow. You’ll love my place because of The magic Fingask has, it truly is a gem in the heart of the Perthshire countryside!. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets).
Rowan is a two storey cottage, in the middle of the courtyard. It has a back door leading onto the shared lawn with garden furniture provided in the spring and summer, the front door leads onto the courtyard. On the ground floor there is a sitting/dining room with a log burner (logs provided) and a kitchen with a fridge/freezer, cooker and hob, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster. Upstairs are a double room and a twin room with single occasional bed and hand basin. The bathroom contains a bath, shower cubical and toilet. The heating in this cottage is electric, which is included in the cost.
Fingask is a wonderful place to explore! Full of magical places to discover from a Chinese Bridge to an Iron Age Fort! Statues and topiary trees fill the lawns and hide & seek can be played in the woods! The Tufted Duck Cafe is a 10 minute stroll down the back drive to the village of Rait, excellent coffee and cake await, along with light snacks, also the Antiques centre to wander around, all open Monday to Saturday 10 am until 4.30 pm, Sundays 12 noon until 4 pm.
  • Had a lovely stay at Rowan Cottage , bottle of wine to welcome us , our dog had a fantastic time exploring the local area 🐶 as did we , lots of interesting points and only 15 mins into Dundee for some shopping and a chippy

    Lorna2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Its a little magical kingdom for family and our cottage was perfect for our famiiys' needs. We liked having a log burner too really adds to the cottage experience. Will definately rebook

    Sue2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fingask is a hidden gem and is well worth a visit. The grounds are beautiful with lots of exploring and adventure for younger visitors. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped and we really enjoyed the log burner. All round, a great hideaway and a very relaxing place to stay.

    Anthony2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • The setting is great: the castle park is beautiful and so quiet. Samantha is very responsive to messages. We stayed at the Rowan Cottage as a family with 3 kids sharing a room and us in another. There is washing machine and dishwasher. The mattresses are a little soft, it's really the only criticism that can be done.

    Marjorie2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very spacious cottage, clean and cozy. Samantha was very helpful and responded quickly to each question I had before arrival.

    Milena2019-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • ! wanted to give you four stars for description because our stay at Rowan Cottage was so much better than we expected! The cottage is warm, comfortable, spacious, well equipped and very homely, with a great wood burner and plenty of free wood, and the stable yard setting is beautiful. We really enjoyed exploring the estate and especially loved the wonderful, eccentric topiary, the dogs' graveyard and the sculptures. Sam and everyone we met were friendly and welcoming, relaxed and helpful. We were visiting family locally, including my very elderly mother, and having such a lovely, relaxing place to stay was an unexpected bonus, and made everything easier. Our ancient dog was very happy with the wood burner, and more enthusiastic about walks than he has been for ages. Thank you for everything.

  • the cottages are an absolute pleasure to stay in.very homely

  • This is a lovely warm comfortable space to spend a family holiday. Lots of walking opportunities and close to both Perth and Dundee.

    Mhairi2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • A warm, cosy cottage just perfect to get away from the stresses of modern day life. This was our second visit and even better than the first time with the addition of a lovely new kitchen. If you like a large mug of tea/coffee bring your own as the mug situation is on the sparse side. Also bring dishwasher tablets and washing powder if you want to use the appliances. You will find the beds extremely comfortable and the cottage is really warm once the heaters are up to temperature. The shower is adequate, plenty hot water and towels. There are lovely walks surrounding the cottage and Perth is a short drive away for any essentials. Rait is a great wee haven to get away from it all.

  • A quaint cottage with all you need - hot water, dish washer, washing machine, very good wi fi for planning trips. Well positioned for exploring Dundee (V&A and RRS Discovery ) Perth, Comrie croft for mtb and exploring. Sandra lives next door which is helpful if anything goes wrong!

    Shelagh2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cottage. If you want peace and quietness but with the city not far away then this is the place to stay. Waking up in the morning with a handfull of red squirrels dancing in the branches right next to the main bedroom windows along with every type of tiny birds around then this is has got to be hevean. A (very) short drive away from Perth and Dundee and all the inbetween places to visit coupled with the solitude of the cottage was mindblowing. A fantastic 4 night stay was had. Have definately bookmarked this cottage for another stay. Dave & Margaret

The cottage is traditional in style but has been recently renovated. It is in a conservation village within walking distance of Fingask castle which is a well known wedding venue .There is a wood burning stove which makes the cottage warm and cozy with a supply of logs to start you off. The location is ideal for exploring the area and is very quiet and peaceful. Dog friendly
The cottage has a sun lounge as well as a sitting room where you can eat in summer evenings. The door opens onto the garden It is not heated so isn’t usable during winter
There are lots of places to visit nearby . Scone Palace is 15 mins away for example There is an Antique Centre in the village with lovely cafe The cottage is equi distant from Perth and Dundee - 20 mins drive . Gean Tree is a lovely Cottage set at the top of the estate. Close to the pool and woodland walks, you also have a least two shetland ponies as neighbours in the field next door! The sitting/dining room has an open log fire (logs are in the box opposite the front door), TV and dvd player, two armchairs and a two seater sofa. The kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dish washer, washing machine, kettle, toaster and microwave. The heating is oil fired and included in the cost.
Fingask is a wonderful place to explore! Full of magical places to discover from a Chinese Bridge to an Iron Age Fort! • Fantastic place to relax and get away from it all. Really interesting grounds that would be super fun for kids to explore.

  • We had a fantastic stay at Gean Cottage, it exceeded our expectations. The cottage is really well equipped and comfortable and the garden was perfect to sit out in. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather during our stay so the pool was a very welcome cool down and the highlight for my youngest who we had difficulty getting out of it! The grounds were lovely to walk round, such a wonderful peaceful place, a welcome change of pace. We would love to come back again soon.

    Victoria2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful few days at Gean Tree cottage for our Easter break. The cottage was spotless and cosy with everything we needed. The complimentary bottle of wine from the nearby winery was a lovely touch. We also appreciated the easy system for recycling and the eco-friendly toilet paper, it's nice to see a business respecting the planet! Located just past the majority of the estate buildings the cottage felt secluded enough not to have to worry about our two noisy young children disturbing other guests and the grounds of the estate itself are just magical. There is so much to explore and discover, quirky sculptures and topiary, secret wells and footbridges, every venture out of the cottage turned into an adventure. And the trees are magnificent, ancient and towering and full of birdlife, it really felt like a haven for wildlife. We saw deer in the woodland one evening though unfortunately we weren't quiet enough to glimpse any red squirrel. Samantha was a brilliant host providing all the information we needed for arrival and our stay. Check in was very easy and she was lovely when we had to report a small, child related breakage. I would most definitely recommend Gean Tree and any other of the Fingask castle properties. It's a very special place, thanks so much for having us!

  • An ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle. Set in stunning surroundings and everything you need for hibernating for a while. In winter it’s fireplace is brilliant too!

    Tam2018-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • The grounds were spectacular with an old world sense...bonus with a Castle! The 2 bedroom 1 bath cottage is quaint and cozy. The cottage was spacious and extremely comfortable. Sam is such a friendly person and responds quickly to any questions. I would stay there again in a heart beat.

  • This is a real find. A fascinating and beautiful historical home and the perfect place to unwind. Lots of lovely touches - lotions and potions, a real fire, luxury bedding. Beautiful grounds by the river w lots of wildlife to spot including red. Squirrels. Even in her absence Fiona was the perfect host! Thanks to John also for all his help. I'd love to return ....

    Ruth2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona's home was a joy to stay in . I felt so comfortable and happy in this beautiful house. It feels like a home because it is! And that means so many thoughtful touches, plus access to everything you need. The bed was so comfortable — I never wanted to get out. And I'll never forget the view of the river outside. Plus, Fiona is the best host I've ever stayed with. Thank you, Fiona! <3

    Breena2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • The arrival at Fiona's house is almost royal, we drive through a large garden, we would think we would arrive in a castle! We were welcomed by John who gave us all the information. The house is huge, even impressive! A fire was lit in the living room with logs available to supply it. The main bedroom is large and has plenty of toiletries available. Breakfast is provided with bacon, eggs... Fiona told us some stories about her family that were vert interesting. It was a very pleasant stay worthy of luxurious hotel!

    David2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful two nights a crackling fire a cracking host and cracking home an atmosphere that transports you. Better than any hotel, worthy of a stay.

    Noel2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing, the house and the grounds are both charmingly beautiful. The home itself was cosy and inviting with a fire lit for us when we arrived (just wed). Fiona was a lovely host who told us lots about the history of the house and its previous residents (including a lady who survived the sinking of the titanic) and John gave us plenty of options for places to go and places to eat (chippy in errol is lovely). It was a fantastic stay and we cannot wait to book again! Thank you Fiona (and John)

    Nathan2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! I don't know how to put this into words. Fiona is such a sweet, caring woman. The home is incredible; the bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and common areas are all beautiful. Everything was clean, tidy, and well decorated for the period. The gardens and estate are immaculately kept by the kind grounds keeper John. I was lucky to see one of the red squirrels in the morning while drinking my coffee. There was an electric blanket on the bed, and such a fluffy duvet. The fridge is stocked, the kitchen has everything you could need. The floor of my bathroom was heated from underneath and there was a towel warmer rack for the towels. Fiona helped me with everything and had great recommendations on things to do and see. Highly, highly recommend!

    Britni2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful house with a great host! Fiona was so accommodating to our very particular needs, very informative of the many sights to see in the area and we felt right at home. I highly recommend this gem of a place :)

  • My husband and I stayed here for a week and what a wonderful week we had. We highly recommend staying here. Suki was super from the word go with communication. Any questions we had were answered promptly. This is truly a place we would love to return to. You can either get out and be active, or relax, wind down, and study like I had to do, within a perfect setting. The bed was comfortable and the area SO QUIET for a tranquil sleep. We thoroughly enjoyed the daily use of the fireplace and hot tub, and the walks around the area. Thank you for the lovely welcoming touches upon arrival, and the great tips we received during our stay. It was also great to meet Suki's partner while he was walking the dogs. Love Suzy!! And thank you for being so helpful, beyond what is expected from a host. My husband and I are grateful and would LOVE to return. It's a week we truly needed and will remember :-)

  • Great place for a family weekend.

    Emma2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great week at the cottage, very clean place, relaxing and quiet! Games room is great with plenty to do, Tennis court is also a great extra (even though we weren't very good at it). Our hosts were perfect and even went out of their way to get us some charcoal for the BBQ as we didn't have any. Would definitely recommend and we will be back! Thanks again.

    Owen2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved it! The place is beautiful and such a relaxing atmosphere. There was plenty to do with the walks and games room and gym if you chose to use it. Our puppy loved it although didn't want to leave the sheep alone! The information pack provided was very useful. We couldn't recommend the place highly enough!

    Joanne2019-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is in a very beautiful location, surrounded by peaceful farmland but not too far from Dundee and Perth. The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable and the hot tub was a great addition.

    Rachel2019-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cottage, great location and amazing views. Lots to do and see and can't forget the hot tub and sauna.

    Jack2019-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Suki's place is perfectly located between Dundee and Perth. It's far enough away from the road to be quiet and peaceful throughout the day and night. The wood fire and the wood burning hot tub are fantastic although at -7° we needed a bit of assistance to get the water to warm up! Suki was available to help however and lit the tub while we were out being tourists in Edinburgh. Eric is a nice addition and is great to watch running around his pen. When booking, check the temperature in Scotland, the colder the better as the hot tub is rather special on a freezing cold night under the stars! We would definitely recommend!

Beech Tree is a two storey cottage at the end of the courtyard. This house has oil-fired central heating and an open log fire (we do supply logs, but not kindling). The ground floor has a sitting room with a log fire, two four seater sofas, one reclining chair, a dining table, TV with freeview and a door leading to the shared back lawn where the children can play on the trampoline, swing and climbing frame. There is also a utility room off the living room containing a toilet and the washing machine. Patio furniture is supplied from spring to autumn. On the ground floor there is also the kitchen well supplied with pots and pans, crockery, glasses and cups. etc. It also has an electric oven and hob, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. Next door is the ground floor double bedroom with en-suite shower and toilet. A stone staircase leads up the second floor, to your right up another few stairs is a cabin bed, narrower than a normal sized single bed, this will fit a small adult. To the right there is a twin bedroom containing two standard single beds, next door is a bathroom with a bath and sink, in the cupboard here you will find the towels. Opposite the bedroom is the family shower room containing a sink, large walk in shower and toilet. And the last room is another twin room containing two single beds and a hand basin, it also has an occasional bed if required, the bedding for this if you have not requested it is in the blue bedding box at the other side of the room. Electricity is included in the cost and the wi-fi is also supplied free of charge, we are rural though and cannot guarantee a strong signal if there are a lot of guests using it at the same time. Pets are also welcome at Fingask, just let us know they are coming. Please ensure you clean up after your pet and keep them off the sofa's and beds. We have a cot, high chairs and stir gates available if required, please let us know prior to your arrival as depending on what time you arrive there may be no-one in the office. We don't have check in here, so follow the directions and enjoy your stay. Sam is in the office Monday to Friday 8.30 am until 4 pm, 5 pm Monday and Friday if you need anything, there is also a handbook on the coffee table in the living room telling you how the heating etc works. You may park your car outside the cottage, please be considerate to the other guests staying and park sensibly. In all the cottages bedding and towels are supplied along with, kitchen towel, toilet rolls, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, bin bags and hand soap. There are also irons and ironing boards in all of the cottages, but NO hairdryers! No food or drinks are supplied, so please bring the basics with you, alternatively both Asda and Tesco deliver here, so you could get shopping delivered. Please make sure that you state the name of the house you are staying in and ensure that you make the time of delivery for after you have arrived. (the office is not able to sign for food deliveries). The pool is open from Easter until first frost (usually October), any guest caught using the pool cover as a diving aid will be asked to leave immediately. The motor is expensive to repair and we have had two broken in 2019. The games room is up the stairs and turn left, at the end of the building there is a door, they key is under the stone if its not in the lock, please ensure that under 12's are NOT left unsupervised! There are seven Fingask Castle Cottages, ranging from Sir Stuart's House sleeping up to fourteen to the romantic hideaway, with sauna and rowing boat, known as The Boathouse. Fingask Cottages are set in over 100 acre’s of the historic gardens and woods of Fingask Castle, enjoying southerly views to the Firth of Tay and the hills of Fife beyond. The half mile long drive curves up through the wooded glen and crosses Fingask stream on a high arched stone bridge overlooking St Peter’s Well in the dell below. Fingask is truly a magical place! You are welcome to roam the estate, there is a map provided in the cottage, but please respect the owners privacy and avoid the area immediately around the castle. The Pavilion is also to be avoided please if there is an event happening during your stay.
Fingask is a wonderful place to explore! Full of magical places to discover from a Chinese Bridge to an Iron Age Fort! Statues and topiary trees fill the lawns and hide & seek can be played in the woods! • We are just back from a lovely trip to Beechtree cottage! The cottage was lovely and spacious, the log fire was so cosy and perfect at this time of year. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and our 4 children aged 5-10 loved exploring the grounds, playing in the games room and even had a swim in the pool (even it was a tad cold) would definitely recommend if your were looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle.

  • We had a lovely stay at Beech Tree Cottage. We stayed for two nights and a family of seven adults and one little one all fitted comfortably. My niece loved the play area at the back. The cottage was very clean and tidy. The beds were very comfortable and it may be good to know that the cabin bed does fit a full sized adult. This is a great place if you are big group and are attending a wedding nearby. Rooms big enough that if you are new to putting on kilts you can!

  • Tracy and David’s farmhouse is a beautiful property, cosy in winter, with views out across the Tay estuary, and the hospitality we received was outstanding. Breakfast in the dining room, looking out at the view, was a real pleasure. Tracy and David are very relaxed, friendly and helpful hosts who could not have done more to make us welcome and comfortable. We were attending a wedding at a local venue so this suited us perfectly. Our thanks and best wishes to them both.

Fernbank Holiday Cottage is a traditional 17th century thatched cottage set in the idyllic village of Rait in the heart of Perthshire. A listed building, Fernbank has all the present day comforts as well as the charm of past times. Fernbank lies in the heart of Scotland and is only an hour away from Edinburgh and Glasgow. 'Relaxing', 'cosy' and 'peaceful' are words our guests use to describe the cottage. Ideal location for dog walkers with fantastic countryside
A unique thatched cottage, situated close by a picturesque burn (stream) that flows down through the village My grandparents lived in Fernbank for over 60 years and my Dad grew up in the cottage. It’s very much a family affair, I do the bookings and communications and my mum and dad do the cleaning and hosting. Fernbank is very much part of our family!

  • We stayed in this lovely bungalow for the weekend in February. We couldn’t have been more comfortable. The rooms are all modern and beautifully decorated with all modern fixtures and fittings. Jennifer was a lovely host who greeted us when we arrived. She showed us around and made sure we had everything we needed...she also had made the place spotless, all in all a fantastic place. Cheers

  • Clean, tidy great position. Perfect for our stay

    John2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Everything you could possibly need even down to games and films. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. Location was great as Dundee was so easy to get to. We will certainly be back.

    Lisa2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer is a fantastic host! The house is sparkling clean and at a perfect location on the outskirts of Dundee. We were last minute bookers but that was no bother and we were in the house in no time. I would definitely recommend any family to stay with Jennifer. She’ll be getting the 1st call the next time we are in the area.

  • Staying at Strawberrybank was a wonder, the house itself is already worth a vacation. It is without a doubt the ideal place for those who want to visit Scotland and do not want to rent three or four places to stay. There are two supermarkets and fuel pumps about three miles away. Renters are very friendly and attentive, always available to help. Wonderful.

  • This gorgeous cottage can be found on the extensive grounds of the castle. The cottage had everything that you could possibly have wanted and more. We loved the log fire which was amazing on a chilly evening. The grounds are stunning and we enjoyed regular walks with the dog who loved splashing about in the stream. The games room and basketball net kept my daughter & husband entertained each night. We will hopefully return another time!

I highly recommend this property , and am making plans to return !

  • What a wonderful place to stay! We had a fantastic time for New Year. The Cottage was charming and set in a beautiful location, with all the wonderful walks and follies to discover. A welcome package of shortbread and wine was a very lovely gesture along with the fire ready made up and just waiting to be lit. Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet Samantha, but we will hopefully be back sometime again very soon and will have the pleasure then. Thank you so much x

  • An amazing venue for a large family reunion and at a very reasonable price . The facilities suited both young and old and ample space to accommodate children at play and adults socialising in comfort. Although the weather was cold every room was cosy and warm and a log fire added to the ambience. The kitchen and dining area allowed the whole group to be seated in comfort . There were lovely walks and places close by to visit . Sandra was very responsive to emails and was very happy to allow us to enjoy her home with our family ... very much appreciated.

  • Carmichael farm is really something special. My family and I have stayed in a few Air bnb’s which have all been great but we all agreed Carmichael Farm has been the best by far. Nicola has created a really special place for people to enjoy. So homely cozy, modern and comfy. So luxurious with plenty of space. We’ve just returned from a weekend away with my family with ages ranging from 4 - 72! Everything was catered for. Nicolas welcome and information has been so helpful. The location is perfect as not far from all the tourist sites in Dundee, 10 mins away. So it was Perfect. Much thanks to Nicola and her family! All the best x

Great fun for the whole family with the gardens, the snug and the ping pong tournaments. We will definitely be back asap. Cant recommend enough. Nicola has the ideal setup organised and was a great host. 10/10!

  • Such a great choice for spending 10 days in the quiet splendor of central Scotland. The farmhouse was sparkling clean and had all the supplies we could ever need. Nicola and Angus were wonderful, thoughtful hosts and we highly recommend their home.

  • Such a wonderful week spent with family at Carmichael farm house. Suited everyone from 1 year old to 90 years old. The farm house is so comfortable and spacious. The outdoor space is also great with plenty of room for little ones to run around. Everyone we met on the farm was so friendly, even the cows!! We’ll definitely be back.

  • My family and I had a wonderful time staying at Sir Stuart’s house. If I could rate is six stars out of five for the location and locale that surrounds it I would. It is simply wonderful grounds that are a joy to explore and a very peaceful setting. To be surrounded by water in every direction creates a very peaceful setting. Andrew & Samantha were the most warm welcoming hosts and I would certainly love to stay here again. 100% recommend this property to anyone who would love a peaceful retreat to the country!

  • Samantha was amazing! Answered my questions very quickly. Loved the house, definitely coming next year. Great pool, great views, 20 mins from main Perth, lovely fire. Airbnb cancelled for no reason but Samantha was lovely and made sure I kept my reservation and was so patient throughout. THANK YOU SO MUCH for a lovely weekend away in Figansk!

  • Incredible accommodation, cannot recommend enough. Thanks

    Colin2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • This house is incredible! 13 of us came to stay for 3 nights in the height of the Scottish summer and we couldn't have had a better place to be. The lake outside is stunning, and the pool was perfect for our lazy sunny days. (although it is a bit of a walk from the house, but not too difficult to get to) Because of all the space we had the holiday was so relaxing; we had so much freedom with the space and the ground were enough to keep us occupied with plenty of room to explore. The inside of the house is cosy and comfortable, with a working TV and good enough WiFi, and I stayed with a friend in the Bothy which was surprisingly comfy. We bought our own projector along and made a little outdoor cinema behind the house - we could have done with an extension cable but we still managed! The outdoor tables are just the thing for big meal times, and the kitchen is spacious and clean. Couldn't recommend this place enough - we were blown away when we arrived and saw it for the first time. Walking round the corner to see this beautiful building in all its glory never gets old!

  • This is a very interesting farmhouse with a lovely en suite bedroom. It is in a quiet wing of the house set in a quiet farm setting. Even so, it was easy to find and centrally located. Penny is very knowledgeable about all things in the area and is generous with sharing that information. We had a very enjoyable stay.

    Holly2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We were expecting this to be a great place from the description but it surpassed our expectations. Penny is a great host and took great trouble to book us a meal out when most restaurants were fully booked. Clean, comfortable delightful en suite accommodation in a beautiful home. Mollie the dog was a joy. Breakfast delicious. Highly recommended!

  • Fantastic little sheds, perfect for a unique getaway!

    Lesley2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, exactly what we were after for our stay. Would definitely recommend. Might be useful to have the password for the WiFi up in the sheds somewhere as had been hoping to use it to plan for the following day’s trip in the evening.

    Rachel2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing quirky accommodation. Very simple for a nights stay but super comfortable and clean! Great shower! We stayed in number 1 on the end which has lots of windows which we opened all of for air as a little cosy in the summer months. The host was very accommodating giving us an early check in and late checkout, friendly communication, a map for the surrounding grounds and even allowing us to bring a takeaway into our potting shed. The highlight of the stay was for sure the discovery that the mentioned pool was an outdoor heated pool! Fantastic, refreshing dip under the sunshine in the evening! This was a perfect space for a relaxing girly evening and located perfectly for local attractions such as Cairn O'Mohr, the antiques centre, Erroll car boot sale and of course the beautiful grounds of Fingask. Easy to make a weekend of it in a superbly priced quirky potting shed! Fantastic! Should also add the potting sheds have LOTS of plug sockets...... Perfect for this modern day and age.

  • We had a great time in the house. It was bigger than expected, and we had plenty of space for the 12 of us. Very clean, big kitchen, but bring few extra kitchen tools was helpful. Cooking in an Aga cooker was a new experience for us. All of us fitted in the big living room table. The shower was like a waterfall...very nice. Rosemary was very helpful and fast answering.
