Places to stay in Inchnadamph
Unique, architect designed, one bedroom, self-contained accommodation for up to two people, situated on our croft in Inverkirkaig near Lochinver. We have 2 purpose-built micro-houses (Lazybed Accommodation) both privately situated and surrounded by stunning scenery. It is possible to book either cabin (for less) through us directly if you wish.
Lazybed is a bespoke micro-house with an interior of 31sqm, built in 2011 by North Woods Construction Ltd. utilising 100% renewable Scottish timber. The high sloping ceiling and 3 metre front windows create a roomy, luxurious, livable space tucked in amongst trees. Sheep’s wool insulates the property throughout whilst hot water is powered by a mini, Norwegian-manufactured, boiler system. The main room has a wood-burning stove (and electric heater) keeping the cabin lovely and warm for those occasions when the weather turns inclement. The accommodation consists of a lounge /well equipped kitchen, a separate cosy kingsize/twin bedroom, a bathroom with a walk-in shower, toilet and wash hand basin. There is a generously sized deck area with views South West to Inverkirkaig’s tranquil sea loch and the wonderfully remote peninsular of Rubha na Breige. We now have another cabin for holiday bookings (the Batbox) on the east side of our bungalow and about 65 metres from Lazybed. It is possible to book either cabin (for less) through us directly. Please check all terms & cancellation conditions before making a booking.
Lazybed is located, adjacent to the owner's house, on their small croft in Inverkirkaig, a lovely coastal settlement, a few miles south of Lochinver and about 40 miles north of Ullapool. This area of the magnificent North West Highlands is known as Assynt, a geographically and geologically remarkable landscape. Many of Scotland’s most individual and charismatic mountains are close by and the stunning coastline stretches north to the white sandy beaches of Achmelvich, Oldshoremore and Sandwood Bay and south to the wild, rocky coves and shell sands of Wester Ross. A multitude of trout-filled lochs cover the hinterland and the beautiful River Kirkaig, with its excellent salmon fishing and waterfall path, is only 10 minutes walk from the door. Continue beyond the falls passing Fionn Loch and eventually reach the summit of Suilven, northern Scotland’s most iconic peak. Walking, kayaking, fishing or simply relaxing, this beautiful area of Scotland has it all.
  • Truly magical place. Highly recommended.

  • Great cabin - amazing location

  • We spent our New Year’s Eve in the cabin and it was the perfect way to see in the new year completely secluded, with great views of the the bay and the stars at night. The cabin has everything you need and the log burner kept it lovely and toasty!

  • This is a lovely place to stay, everything required for a short stay and super helpful hosts too. We loved the garden, the views, the bench, everything!

  • We stayed at the Lazybed cabin for our mini-moon and it was a perfect escape from the hecticness of our special day. The place was perfect . David and Gita included thoughtful extra touches for us to celebrate our wedding, and were also incredibly helpful when we had car trouble! Even if the weather was mainly rubbish we had a fab time hanging out by the fire, and when the sun came out, nothing beat sitting on the bench with a beer, reading and looking over the Loch 💕

  • A lovely cabin in a beautiful part of the world. Well worth a visit

  • The Lazybed was superb. We loved its eco credentials and the house has been really well thought through. We will definitely stay again and have recommended the Lazybed to several friends. The photos don't do this place justice, hugely snug and spacious. The surrounding area is amazing and the lazybed is fantastically located for hiking. Thanks again Gita for your great hospitality!

A bright and spacious timber roundhouse nestled below a single-track road amongst trees and by the shores of Loch Broom. Am Falachan offers a warm welcome within a private and peaceful self-contained dwelling with sweeping views over Loch Broom to Beinn Dearg and the surrounding hills. Am Falachan is located in Letters (An Leitir), 2.5 miles off the A835 and approximately 10 miles from the west coast fishing village of Ullapool. A perfect basecamp for Scotland's Highlands.
The accommodation is a beautiful round wooden space, the front half of which is fully glazed providing a near 180 degree panorama of the surrounding view. Within this one room there is a double sofa-bed, kitchen and sitting area, and additionally there is a small private shower room and an entrance porch with storage cupboards. The roundhouse sits below the single-track road and is tucked into the contour of the hill. In front is a small wooded area leading down to the sea loch which can be accessed from the roundhouse.
Am Falachan is located in Letters, one of 5 hamlets along a quiet single track cul-de-sac in the crofting community of Lochbroom, near Ullapool, Scotland, United Kingdom. The predominant surroundings are the natural environment - sea, hills, lochs, trees and myriad wildlife. The village of Ullapool has local shops, restaurants, pubs, coffee bars, art galleries and is a small and delightful gateway to the NW Highlands and the outer Hebrides of Lewis, Harris and Uist. If you are walking, the Cape Wrath trail passes through Clachan, just 2 miles away on our road.
  • Rebekah’s place is truly a hidden gem. Definitely the highlight of our two week Scotland trip. Located in such a remote, idyllic village, we were given a very detailed direction before arrival. Everything is exactly as shown in the photos: the sleek interior, the magnificent view overlooking the loch and the mountains. Even on what seems to be a dreich and cold day in February, it is always warm in the room we love it! Rebekah’s personal touch on the space is impeccable; everything is fully prepared to ensure a comfortable stay. We love the fresh baguette, butter and cheese, even the hair and body soap! With a lot of beautiful walking trails nearby, we hoped we could stay longer...

  • The perfect place to relax and unwind. Gorgeous views, cosy and comfortable and a stunning little space. We took some little walks out in the local area which had lovely views. Great host who was kind and helpful with anything we needed. A great place to stay

  • Thank you to Rebekah and Jonathon for sharing the roundhouse. Am Falachan is an outstanding property. The setting is perfect. Despite being on the banks of the sea loch it's very sheltered. While we stayed Storm Ciara hit the UK and all we experienced was sound of birdsong and an occasional patter of raindrops, which even managed to sound meditative. And those windows! Perfect for lying in bed and watching the sunrise. Rebekah is a great host and has left lots of lovely touches around the roundhouse with information and local maps for walks. Spotlessly clean, while the kitchen is small its more than adequately equipped to cook all meals, I even managed a sausage casserole! It's the perfect mindful retreat to centre ones-self and enjoy the winter hygge.

  • Amazing place. we didn't want to go home.

    Jacek2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Roundhouse is in the perfect idyllic spot and is ideal for a quiet, romantic getaway. With superb views of the loch, it is fully equipped with everything you could need - the luxury products provided were an extra special touch. Rebekah was an excellent host, always attentive to our needs and happy to help out with questions whilst giving us privacy to offer the escapism we were looking for. The Roundhouse is definitely a special find and I would 100% recommend.

A modern house in an ancient landscape. In a country of beautiful landscape, Assynt in the far north west highlands stands out for its extraordinary geology, mountains, lochs and coastline. With some of the oldest rock in the world (3.5Bn years old), numerous remains of iron age settlements, abundant wild life, wild terrain and sporting activities, there is much to see and experience in this special corner of Scotland. It is remote yet accessible, being a 2 hour drive from Inverness through wonderful scenery and generally empty roads. So much so, that at certain times of the year, visitors are more likely to see red deer than other cars. The house is newly built, of solid (cross lateral) timber construction allowing for a very open and distinctive interior. With under floor heating from an air source heat pump and wood burning stove and high standards of insulation it is warm and welcoming throughout the year. The guest bedroom has its own door to the outside and ensuite shower and toilet. It is connected with the rest of the house by 10 steps from inside your room. Guests are free to use the upstairs ‘gallery’ sitting room with spectacular views of nearby sea and more distant mountains. This is where breakfast will be served as shown in one of the images. Please take note that the living room and kitchen area is also very much our own living space during the day and evening, so while it is absolutely fine if you want to sit at the table in the panorama window for a while, you will not be able to use this space as freely as if it was an area especially for guests to use. If you decide to have an evening meal with us (optional) it will be within the kitchen/living room. We are vegetarian so this is the food we serve, but we can assure you of its variety and freshness. We can provide a meal for our guests provided it fits in with other commitments we might have, so if you would like to join us for a meal on one of your evenings please enquire in advance what is possible at the time of your visit. We charge £18 pounds per person for a three course meal (not including wine or beer), you can bring what you like to drink or make a financial contribution to drinks we provide. Being a new house, the garden is in a state of development. There are always projects going on and some materials around, be it related to Nigel's artworks or generally to do with developing the garden. The house is accessed up a track through a surrounding field. There are several houses and crofts nearby, a beach with easy access to the sea and many places to walk and explore. Clashnessie has no shops, the nearest village is Lochinver (8 miles away) where there is a selection of shops, a petrol station, restaurants and other places to visit. Please click on "Location" to read our advice on eating out in Lochinver. It is possible to get to the house by public transport from Inverness, but this is likely to take a day’s travel. To explore the area and for ease of travel it is recommended guests come by car. Inverness is best reached by either train or plane, and we recommend if coming from the south of England, to use the Caledonian sleeper service that arrives in Inverness at 8.30 am. There is a Budget car rental depot five minutes from the station. We can provide further advice on routes etc if required. Assynt is often described as being in the ‘wild north west’. This is an apt description of the landscape and at times the weather. Strangely this part of Scotland often has drier weather than places further south. Being on the coast the weather is changeable with often dramatic skies and ever changing light. Highly photogenic and at times it is extraordinary to experience such variety in a short space of time. Finally, another advantage of being on the coast with wind (of varying force) there are few midges – a real bonus in the height of the summer.
Clashnessie is a small place and doesn't have any shops. The nearest village is Lochinver, 8 miles south of Clashnessie. There is also "Flossie's Beach Store" by the road in Clachtoll (approx. 2.5 miles away) where you can buy essentials and get a coffee or tea when out and about. We advise guests to make arrangements for eating out if that is what you would like to do. Compared to cities and many places in Europe, restaurants here often don't serve hot food for very late into the evening, especially in the early part of the season or later in autumn. In the summer it can get very busy too, so if you haven't booked a table you may have to wait a while until there is a table available. I am happy to give you more information if needed, but as a general rule I would say, make sure you book a table and don't plan to arrive at the restaurant of your choice too late (especially in the early part of the season (April) some restaurants don't take food orders after 7:30pm). The restaurants in Lochinver are: Lochinver Pie Shop (specialises in all sorts of pies but also serves other dishes), The Caberfeidh Dining Pub (pub bar and restaurant), Inver Lodge (higher end of the price spectrum), An Cala Cafe (serves breakfast, lunch and evening meals until around 8 in the summer), Peet's Restaurant (in the harbour area), Culag Hotel, Glen Canisp Lodge (a B&B which also serves food in the evening to non residents, approximately a mile and a half up a single track road branching off left from the main road). They all have their own websites if you want to do a bit of forward planning.
  • Andrea and Nigel are lovely hosts with an even lovelier space. The room offers amazing views of the country side, and the drive there is one beautiful scene after another. Andrea and Nigel gave us wonderful recommendations of what galleries we could find in the area, as well as showing us their own work. Breakfast was fantastic. We can't recommend this place enough, and would be delighted to stay with them (and Bruno, their wonderful dog!) again.

    Janine2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time using Airbnb and Andrea and Nigel provided an outstanding first experience. They thought of everything and the set up at their home was perfect for what we needed. Private yet homey and accommodating - with the extra advantage of an awesome Bruno who welcomed us each time we got back to the house. The place is beautifully and uniquely decorated mostly with their own art which just added to the beautiful landscapes surrounding their home. Friendly people, beautiful animal and lovely home: 10/10 from me!

    Maria2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Would definitely go back there, wish our stay would have been longer. Andrea and Nigel were unbelievably helpful, our car had a flat tire in the middle of nowhere and they were kind enough to pick us up there as there was no other help whatsoever from the hire company. Without them we probably would still be standing on the side of the road. The place was great with amazing views and lots to explore near by. Hope we manage to be back there soon!

  • We had a wonderfull time here in clashnessie ! The bedroom was cosy and clean, the house and garden was super cute, but the best part is the surroundings ! It feels like being in the middle of nowhere, and you can enjoy this while eating breakfast, which was amazing. The hosts were very nice with us, easy to talk to ! Would highly recommend :)

  • Striking location, intriguing hosts, beautiful accommodations, and a very gracious home for even one day. Countryside is filled with such beauty and history, an excellent choice to stay.

  • We spent one night with Andrea and her husband. Their great house is a bit out of the way, but that's why we chose the room. Great hostess, excellent breakfast, great accommodation. We would come back anytime!

    Ramona2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous accommodation in such a remote part of Scotland. Wonderful hosts and enjoyed seeing Andrea's craft workshop and learning about Nigel's sculptures.

  • Andrea and Nigel are very nice people. The view is really amazing and the breakfast was really nice with lots of choices and a nice spot with an amazing view. The room and bathroom were very nice and clean. The hosts gave nice and helpfull tips about the surroundings. We had a nice and comfortable stay.

  • Simon was a very responsive host since we made reservations at 5pm for the same evening. Then what about Simon, his wife and the house ... a meeting and a "lovely" discovery! A real little cocoon, in the heart of Ulapool, opposite the port. The decoration and the conformation of the house are adorable. The impeccable cleanliness, and it was very hot in the toilet and the bathroom (on the same floor as the bedroom, 3 steps down the hall), which I love especially in the middle of winter. We had access to the washer and dryer, thank you again. Our room was cozy and spacious, with a small armchair and coffee table facing the window overlooking the harbor. It is even possible to have breakfast brought there. Regarding the latter, it was simply the best and most generous of breakfasts we ate during our 2 weeks vacation. So a big thank you to you for your smile, your sweetness and your welcome. We will be back with pleasure in a few spring :)

  • A delightful little place nestled in the highstreet overlooking Ullapool's harbour. Simon and his wife made us feel immediately welcome and made our short stay in Ullapool all the better, with easily the best breakfast we had during our road trip on the NC500. This rustic home is a wonderful setting for those wanting some peace and quiet or a simple base for the night with a hearty breakfast.

LOOKING FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT? THIS COULD BE IT, BUT IT'S NOT FOR THE FAINT-HEARTED. YOU NEED TO BE HARDY, CONFIDENT IN YOUR ABILITY TO LOOK AFTER YOURSELF WHEN THE TRAPPINGS OF MODERN LIFE ARE NOT SO ACCESSIBLE! BEFORE BOOKING, PLEASE READ ALL THE INFORMATON, ESPECIALLY REGARDING USING THE WOOD-BURNER - THE ONLY HEATING AVAILABLE. THERE could BE A SMELL OF SMOKE! KNOW YOUR LIMITATIONS AND THINK IF THIS IS REALLY FOR YOU. OUTDOOR TYPES USED TO CAMPING OR BOTHIES WILL HAVE NO TROUBLE!
Dave saved the Signal Box from being destroyed when no longer required on the railway, and transported it 12 miles to our home. Remember - it is a SMALL wooden box in the country, not a house! We have installed a small double sofa bed and a single, a microwave, kettle and toaster and other stuff to make it pretty comfortable. Bed linen, towels, crockery, cutlery, etc all provided. This is basic, rural accommodation! At the top of our driveway you will see a silly silver motorbike 'sculpture' - this will help you find us. Around the property are other quirky items made by Dave! We try to keep the interior of the box in keeping with its age but with modern appliances and comforts. The single bed is standard size; the sofa bed is a small double, two adults sharing do have to like each other! We are dog friendly so anyone with allergies should be aware. Also with the age of the box and a wood burning stove there is likely to be some dust, no matter how we try! This is not really suitable for very young children.
Rural village with the stunning Cassley Falls a short walk away where you can watch salmon leap (at certain times of year). Central location making it ideal for touring all three coasts of the Northern Highlands.
  • A really unique and quirky place to stay. Mary and Dave are fantastic hosts, and are so friendly and welcoming. It felt like coming to visit a friend! The space itself has such a great history, and is very well equipped and comfortable. The provided breakfast is very filling and kept us going all day. We stayed in winter and no problems with the temperature at all! Would recommend to all for a something special and different.

    Annie2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • I had such a wonderful time staying in Mary and Dave's cabin. The space was perfect, clean, tidy and super warm even in the depths of winter once the stove was going (top tip... feed the fire from the top to stop smoke blow back). Dave was perfect for suggesting local walks with my dogs and I had a really perfect New Years Day walking to Cassley Falls and the fascinating graveyard. I can't recommend the cabin enough and will definitely stay again!

    Rebecca2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in the Signal Box, the fire kept us so warm, even in December! Dave gave us some recommendations for some beautiful walks in the local area which were amazing. Stunning area, great hospitality and would really recommend. Many thanks!

    Charlotte2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect place for a hardy (in winter) couple/family who want to get away from it all. Expect great hospitality and a lovely welcome. The unusual life of the signal box is fantastic to share in and a great base for many Sutherland sites. Perfect peace and tranquillity.

    Claire2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing area and interesting place to stay!

  • Interesting accomodation and super nice hosts.

    Andrew2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Mary and Dave were amazing hosts and ensured our comfort throughout. Breakfast was amazing and we tried out the traditional Scottish porridge. The railway signal box was warm and cozy, and we had a very comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

    Naveen2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • What an AMAZING place. It’s exactly how I imagined it to be. Yes, you’re out in the middle of no where. BUT it’s perfect. Mary and Dave are amazing hosts and genuine about making sure you have everything you need. The space is small, but totally do able with 3 people. (Snuggle up). Dave will make you breakfast porridge (which we had to miss out on), so he left us some cereal to enjoy! We will be back!!!

Award-winning tiny house is located the most northerly stretch of NC500, Scotland's answer to Route 66. Stay in this partly off-grid, wooden house on wheels with its breathtaking view, very close to the beach. Lots of other things to explore nearby.
The tiny house movement began in the USA as people explore the future possibilities of living in compact, low energy spaces. This tiny house was built by British trail-blazer Mark Burton (http://www.custombuiltsurrey.com/one-bed-house-on-wheels.html), who won an award from the Independent Newspaper, and has featured in numerous "lifestyle" TV programmes including Grand Designs. The tiny house in Clashnessie is the first to go largely off-grid, depending on mains supply for water and high-output electric appliances only. Supplementary power comes from photovoltaic panels and cylinder gas, and there is a composting lavatory. But this is not rough-living, and offers a shower, a fabulous king-size bed, a fridge - more or less all you need in a house, except space. The furniture has been chosen to a high design standard; this is emphatically not a caravan!
We are located on the most northerly stretch of NC500, 'Scotland's answer to Route 66' and voted one of the six most scenic coastal roads in the world by Traveller Magazine. (http://www.northcoast500.com/home.aspx). Clashnessie itself is quite simply a magic place, with a large sweep of safe sandy beach that is never busy, a fascinating coastline and rugged hinterland. The patient observer can see seals, otters, dolphins, porpoises, and sometimes orcas, as well as varied bird-life. Red deer are as common as rabbits - a nuisance to agriculture, but splendid beasts nonetheless. This is Scotland's "wild west", lying north of the Hebrides. It is one of the dark places of Europe, perfect for astronomers. The area, Assynt, is also world famous for its geology, and the tiny house sits on some of the oldest rock in the world. Just round the coast is the spectacular sea-stack, the Old Man of Stoer. The ring of local mountains - Quinag, Canisp, Suilven, Cul More and Beag, Ben More, and Stac Pollaidh, stand up dramatically on the landscape. No Munros among them except Ben More Assynt, but challenging day-climbs for all that. Brown trout abound in local lochs, and salmon fishing can be arranged by permit. There are numerous places suitable for sailing, kayaking and scuba-diving, and the "main" road, scenic, undulating single-track with passing places, makes for interesting cycling and motor-cycling. Botanists also enjoy the area for its flora including varieties of wild orchid. The nearest pub and shop are in Drumbeg, 5 miles to the north, and the hub of local activity is the scenic fishing village of Lochinver, 9 miles south, which has shops, a varied offer of social events, and 9 food outlets from a sandwich bar to a Michelin-starred restaurant. The North Assynt Estate in which the crofting "township" of Clashnessie is situated, celebrates twenty years now since its famously unprecedented tenant buy-out, since when, in an area notorious for the Highland Clearances and absentee landlords, the people finally own the land. The Gaelic language is also enjoying a revival in the area. And yes, there are midges, but we cope with them.
  • Pam is a wonderful host who will go out of her way to make your stay enjoyable. I would recommend going on her 'historical' tour as she is very knowledgeable of the area and history. The tiny house is 'tiny' but contains all the essentials you will need for a pleasant stay. It is a beautiful area with many hike opportunities.

    Tom2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Tiny House was a unique and unforgettable place to stay in a gorgeous location. The hike to the waterfall just down the lane was amazing. Host Pamela was wonderful, stocked the fridge with breakfast for us and even came to the rescue with loaner wellies when my shoes got soaked--and dried them off on her radiator overnight! The house lived up to its name--very tiny!--but a fun, cozy adventure in off-the-grid living. Be prepared for an experience a bit closer to camping than a standard b and b, but that was part of the charm.

    Allison2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely the best house in the north, great view, nice neighbours with cute fringes, and amazing host that gave us awesome, memorable welcome!

    Kajetan2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The place is truly unique, can only recommend to visit Pamela's tiny house in Clashnessie.

  • Our stay at the Tiny House was amazing! The house is really small, but is has everything you need (and the bed is amazing with the most beautiful view). We stayed here for 9 days and we loved every day. When the weather would permit it, we would eat breakfast outside while enjoying the view of the beach and the waterfall. We walked al lot every day, the area is beautiful! Pamela was a great host, she was very helpful before and during our stay. She told us about nice walks in the area and she was always ready to help us if needed. This was a vacation to remember.

  • The house is located in a wonderful nature and is equipped with everything you need. Despite the size you have enough space and can enjoy the beautiful views. Pamela has explained everything in detail to us, she is a very loving and attentive hostess. We really enjoyed spending some time there. It's really an experience !. Thank you so much for everything. With very best regards Gudrun and Stefan

  • We had a great stay in the Tiny House - a wonderful place to get away from it all in a beautiful setting. Pamela was a great host and made us feel very welcome. She provided us with some great recommendations of things to do in the local area to make the most of our time here. Would definitely recommend.

  • If you want a quiet, comfortable no frills place to stay, Jackie’s place ticks it all. She’s lovely and very welcoming and only a short walk from the restaurants and pub. With a Tesco just behind the house. She says no breakfast but she leaves a lovely fruit basket & biscuits & instant porridge which was a lovely touch.

  • Just complete perfection, nothing to fault, nothing to change. We stayed here for 3 nights and it was perfect. We spotted birds, seals and stags, went on stunning walks right from the front door and just loved every moment. Julian was so helpful and responded super quickly

    Charlie2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is simply an amazing space and will be stunning at any time of the year. The accommodation has everything you could want or need. We chose to spend as much time as possible at Tigh-na-Mara and utilised the well equipped kitchen to cook each night, looking at the spectacular view. We had combinations of wind, rain, sun, sleet, hail and rainbows, all of which we could watch from the cosy comfort of the living room, with the wood burning stove keeping us warm. I would highly recommend this place, the pictures are gorgeous, but don’t come close to the reality of just how lovely it is. We have stayed at many Airbnb’s - this is absolutely one of the best and will exceed your expectations. If you can get booked, just do it...

    Tiny2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for 14 days and enjoyed the peace, the place and the whole atmosphere of this area. For us with the most beautiful part of Scotland. The accommodation is clean, everything is there what you need to provide for yourself - although there are also very good restaurants in town. Tesco is almost around the corner so to speak - but that also applies to everything else in Ullapool. Definitely visit the Smokehouse and taste the smoked salmon. Just for the trip worth it!

    Stefan2019-09-07T00:00:00Z

  • Speechless or should we say stuck for words to write - such amazing hosts, such an amazing place - two nights of hot tub heaven and then a cosy nights sleep with the wood burner crackling - I almost wrote a poem! We will be back in October.

  • Loved this place. Very well done out, great kitchen. Lovely walks, hot tub was great & fab location to explore the Scottish Highlands.

    Jeff2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was absolutely perfect in every way. The shepherd’s hut is located over a loch with outstanding views, and the starry sky at night whilst in the hot tub is just magical. The shepherd’s hut has been finished to the highest standard and there are so many lovely touches that make it the perfect, cosy nest. We got engaged over New Year’s Eve and it couldn’t have been a more romantic setting! Thank you so much as well for the lovely bottle of champagne. Our dog Roo loved it too, and the location was perfect for exploring all the breathtaking scenery. We will be back! Karina & Tim x

  • The Shepherd Hut is an idyllic place to stay while touring the Highlands. Spectacular views and the hut is kitted out with everything you could need, completely modern with a great rainfall shower. Then of course there is the wood-fired hot tub. Despite it being 2 degrees outside, we fired up the hot tub on all four nights and spent hours star gazing, sipping on prosecco. Amazing! Hosts Jacqui and Jason are friendly and on hand if you need anything, and have great tips on places to visit. Can not recommend enough.

Set In the picturesque village of drumbeg in the north west highlands, We run a little croft with sheep, goats, chickens, dogs & cats so you can experience a taste of rural highland life. An excellent stop over if you are on the NC500 or a space to relax for a few days, the choice is yours. WiFi is satellite so good speed and mobile signal can be slow but that’s all part of life in highlands, instead, fill your day with walks, Munro’s or peat tracks or fishing in the many local lochs.
Zero light pollution and absolute quiet makes this one of the places where you can really get away from it all. The only noise you’ll perhaps here is the cluck of chickens, the bleat of sheep and goats looking for their breakfast! You are of course welcome to help out on our little croft, gathering eggs, feeding goats etc or just sit and chill out with views to die for of Loch Drumbeg and watch for deer coming down off the hill in the evenings. This does mean that this is a remote rural location and amenities are limited, mobile signal is patchy at best.
Drumbeg has a village shop with a delicious deli counter and all the basics, including fresh fruit & veg and a good selection of beer and wines, including Drumbeg cask whiskey! There is also a small hotel with bar just a short walk away (seasonal) Restaurants are in lochinver, a 15 mile drive or kyleslu 9 miles so we recommend that you eat prior to your arrival. With the Atlantic on one side and over 200 fresh water lochs on the other, you are always close to water. Ideal for a spot of fishing or just following the old peat tracks into the hills, Drumbeg is the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of life, recharge your batteries and get an idea of what it’s like to live in the least populated place in Europe. Surrounded by history, geology and scenery, and if you’re lucky the northern lights, enjoy the best of rural life with all mod cons.

  • We loved Helen’s place! Communication was great and welcoming from the beginning and she offered many helpful suggestions. We arrived at night and were so happy to climb into such a comfortable bed. We appreciated all the nice touches like the beautiful hand soap. Little did we know the view that would greet us in the morning! Helen and her husband were away but their very kind and welcoming adult son Jack brought us the most incredible breakfast, including eggs from their chickens. Then we accompanied him while he fed and watered all the sweet animals and told us about croft life. We especially loved Polly, one of the cows. Thankfully we had brought our muck boots but we were offered wellies, as it was quite muddy. They were also helpful to keep us dry just down a tiny hill to the gorgeous beach. We rinsed boots off back at the house. We can’t recommend Helen’s place highly enough and only wished we had stayed longer - just go - you will love it.

  • Marianne is a wonderful and super friendly host with a wealth of knowledge about the area. The property is lovely, the views are breathtaking and it’s a treat to be on a working croft with a variety of animals around. Highly recommended!

  • A really great place to stay. Host Marriane was very gracious and helpful even supplying me with a surprise dinner. Highly recommended.

  • Marianne was a lovely host both relaxed and attentive. Her house is located in a beautiful location overlooking Loch Drumbeg. It really is idyllic!! Highly recommended.

  • Excellent place. Marianne was incredible and the location was stunning.

  • Marianne's place is in a beautiful, peaceful location and she made us feel right at home. It was the ideal base from which to explore a great part of Scotland.

  • Marianne was a lovely host, she took care of my mother and helped her find her way in her journey onwards. I'm very pleased to have booked this accommodation and would recommend anyone looking for a polite and hospitable host and a clean and tidy room to stay here. Many thanks.

    Jonathan2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Marianne's farm is a real farm, in an authentic place overlooking a pretty little lake. Marianne is very welcoming, the room and the bathroom are comfortable. We dined while chatting with her son, and the next day Marianne kindly showed me her farm, and her many animals - shetland sheep, goats, chickens, dogs and cats - a real moment of happiness at a very reasonable rate. No doubt I have my favorite experiences in the highlands! Thank you

    Arie2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place is a little hard to find after dark, but once we did we were made very welcome. It is properly warm and cosy, the breakfast room is nice.

The Cathair Dhubh Estate is tucked into the rugged Sutherland coastline on the NC500 between the villages of Lochinver and Clachtoll. Nestling in the heart of the spectacular Assynt countryside, it is a haven for wildlife lovers, hikers, fishermen, photographers and outdoor enthusiasts, not to mention those families looking for white, sandy beaches and crystal blue waters.
At Cathair Dhubh Estate the views are simply amazing! Bring your binoculars and you could be watching whales, basking sharks, porpoises and dolphins all from your window! Thistle cottage is a cosy semi-detached property looking west over the Atlantic ocean, enabling you to enjoy glorious sunsets as you relax after a hard day's hiking in the hills or a an afternoon spent frolicking on the nearby beaches. The cottage has 2 bedrooms; a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. It has a good sized family bathroom. There is a fully-fitted kitchen, incorporating an oven, hob and microwave, together with a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The open plan lounge and dining area provide a comfy place to relax and is equipped with satellite TV and DVD player and CD radio. We do have Wifi but in keeping with the spirit of getting away from it all, it is quite basic and at times, elusive! There are patios leading to outside seating where you can experience the breathtaking views.
Cathair Dhubh looks out over Achmelvich Bay and is set against an awesome backdrop of sandstone mountains, with names that trip from the tongue of any walker – Quinag, Suilven, Canisp. These ancient hills are formed from some of the oldest rocks in the world and create a timeless wilderness. In the hills around the estate, wildlife and birdlife abound. Black throated divers, otters, red deer, seals, porpoise and sea birds are but a few of our neighbours. With a touch of extra vigilance, you may even happen to spot minke and pilot whales, orca and sea eagles – binoculars are a must! The coastal path from the glorious sandy shores of Achmelvich passes through on its way to the abandoned millstones at the old water mill at Port Altan ‘Abradhan. Here you will find another beautiful, secluded cove to explore minutes from your front door. If you continue along the path, you'll see the iconic silhouette of Split Rock and then the creamy sands of Clachtoll beach, another Assynt treasure which also plays host to the annual Sand Sculpture competition - a brilliant day out for families. At the entrance to the estate, lies Loch an Ordain allegedly haunted by the mythical Black dog of Creag an Ordain – a two-headed, horned beast belching fire, with a human face and eyes that glow like burning peats – you might not find him listed in many of the nature books but he abounds in local legend!! For those anglers undeterred by the prospect of the Black Dog, the hills behind Loch an Ordain cradle a network of lochs and lochans teeming with brown trout. Some lochs further afield, even have migratory Sea Trout and Salmon passing through them – there is indeed a wealth of fishing opportunities. The picturesque fishing village of Lochinver is about four miles away and provides a good range of local amenities, including two grocery stores, a butcher, a post office, 24 hour filling station, a newsagents, a variety of cafes, coffee shops and restaurants, gift shops, a chandlery, health centre, ATM and Tourist Information Centre.
  • We had a wonderful stay in the thistle cottage. The house has a great view of the sea and the house has everything you need. The environment is incredibly beautiful and there are great opportunities for hiking and fishing. Nearby is Lochinver where there are shopping and a gas station. Kate is a wonderful hostess. We were warmly welcomed.

    Eliane2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • The location is stunning, and all the cottages have fabulous views out to sea. There’s loads of space surrounding them, and access to a little cove ideal for launching kayaks and canoes, a tiny beach and coastal walks / running paths to the nearby beaches of Clachtoll and Achmelvich. The cottages themselves are really well laid out and exceptionally well-equipped with lots of fridge/freezer space, and all the pots, pans and equipment needed to cater for groups. Kate was a great host, easy to contact and quick to respond.

    Cal2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning location! Beautiful views, well equipped, warm and cosy. A really lovely base from which to explore this spectacular part of the world.

    Rebecca2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is in a wonderful location with magical views and a fine array of animals outside the front door: highland cows, lambs, red deer and even saw porpoises. A great base to explore Assynt.

    Matilda2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location, beautiful views, lovely walks, great paddle boarding location, nice wee cottage - loved it!

    Gilly2019-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • The property is very well equipped, warm and comfortable. Be prepared to enjoy the solitude, the sheep and perhaps deer close to the property. The autumnal light and changeable weather make the area a palette of delights for the artist or photographer. There are walks from the cottage door or just sit with a nip in the lounge and enjoy the ever changing view in comfort.

    John2018-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Would highly recommend Thistle college! The place very clean! We can't wait to come back and visit again with Alba my dog. Kate is such a welcoming host and has great attention to detail! Can't wait to come back!

    Mhairi2018-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a superb spot. I’ve sen these cottages from afar in the past and was delighted to be able to stay there. Don’t be put off by the traditional local architecture - public convenience chic - they’re lovely inside and the situation is frankly unbeatable worldwide. Unobtrusive service, yet instant response. There’s even WiFi, although be prepared to hear the cogs grinding at Highand speed. It rocks.

    Linda2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at this beautiful cabin as part of our nc500 journey. The space was absolutely spotless and decorated perfectly. It was also much bigger than we expected from the photos! The hot tub was very private and the fairy lights made it just perfect at nighttime as we sat looking at the stars. The little touches such as dressing gown and slippers made this stay feel luxurious. Thank you for an amazing stay!

    Laura2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • A treat of a pod to stay in for the weekend. So clean, lots of nice touches like robes, slippers, ice machine for a complementary nip. the hot tub was the reason we booked and it was fantastic, overlooking lochinver harbour but not overlooked. We would definitely recommend and return.

Lovely double room in bungalow on outskirts of Ullapool, (walking distance) with king size bed and very modern en suite shower room with large walk in shower. This comfortable room looks over the back garden. The views from the front decking of the bungalow over Loch Broom and the mountains are simply superb! A free substantial ‘help yourself’ continental breakfast is available and on dry days we suggest taking it out onto the decking to soak up the lovely open views!
Our bungalow sits in an elevated position on the outskirts of the lovely town of Ullapool. A pleasant 25 minute walk takes you into the town. The house is furnished with comfortable soft furnishings and a variety of landscape paintings and prints. We are happy for our guests to use our living room where there is a wood burning stove which is lovely on a cold evening. We have a good selection of Scottish books both fact and fiction for guests to enjoy. We also welcome guests to make use of the kitchen for our free substantial ‘help yourself’ breakfast and for making coffee and tea anytime but its not available for making dinner, however there is a great selection of bar/restaurants in the village which is a 5 min drive or pleasant 25 min walk away. We are a friendly and relaxed couple and are happy to give advice on what to do in Ullapool and surrounding areas. We have a lovely friendly 10 year old black Labrador called Corrie and we welcome guests with well behaved dogs.
Ullapool is a lovely town of about 1500 people. It has various book and music festivals throughout the year and some lovely small shops as well as a small market on Saturdays in the summer months. Beautiful beaches and mountains are nearby and the ferry can be taken from here to the Outer Hebridean Islands.
  • A gorgeous bungalow with amazing views! Super easy to find and plenty of space to park. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and it was clear that Rosie and her partner had put a lot of thought into their property – we particularly enjoyed the small things, like the breakfast options and whisky. Although the couple were travelling away at the time, communication was still superb and they managed to help us with a few technical difficulties regarding the tele/speakers. Definitely recommend.

  • What a super place to stay , wonderful hosts amazing breakfast and superb position high on the braes of Ullapool both Ben and Rosie so helpful and welcoming . Able to come and go as suited us will definitely stay again.

  • Lovely location in the Braes of Ullapool, just outside the town. Extremely friendly hosts, offered us food and drink upon arrival and gave us a tour of our room and facilities. Made us the most amazing breakfast buffet/spread. Seriously... couldn’t of asked for a better breaky to wake up to. Highly recommend and I’m sure we’ll be back on our next trip.

  • Great peaceful location, with amazing views. A little tricky to find, (on a dark winter night) but good directions from Rosie keep you right. Lovely cosy room, & living space, and a wonderfully inspiring palette of items for breakfast. I had a fun time designing my breakfast :-) Up there with the best sleeps ever in the comfy bed after my epic day in the hills, and good chats with Rosie, a lovely host. Heartily recommend

This modern and comfortable chalet is in the North West Highland village of Achiltibuie. With its large picture windows and decked terrace it is a perfect spot to relax and unwind. The views over the Summer Isles and the mountains are stunning as are the dramatic sunsets and starry night skies. There is a bright and airy open plan living area, two bedrooms a shower room and of course wi-fi. The perfect base for exploring, walking, climbing, kayaking, fishing and so much more.
The local crofting and fishing community has a rich history and was a gaelic speaking area until recent times. It is now a Scottish Wildlife Trust Reserve, ideal for hill walkers and nature lovers. The chalet is in easy walking distance of The Piping School Café, Local Artists Gallery, Community Hall and the Summer Isles Hotel.
  • The cabin is cosy and comfortable and the location is hard to beat. Una is a great host and was helpful with local knowledge including the visit at the village hall by the fish van! The summer isles hotel is excellent for fine dining or a bar meal and the Am Fuaran Bar at Althandu is much better than either the outside or the inside decor suggests and definitely worth a visit. Brilliant seafood platter. Wherever you eat, the seafood is fresh and local.

    Ben2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 3 nights at Una's place. The location is absolutely stunning (can't beat those views!). The accommodation was also super cosy for that time of year. Una was very responsive and accommodating. We would definitely recommend for anybody in search of a special place to stay in that area.

    Isabelle2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • The chalet is positioned in the most perfect place with incredibly and far reaching views. The large windows mean that whatever the weather you can appreciate where you are. The chalet is compact, clean, comfortable and provides all the facilities you need.

  • We just stayed for four nights in the chalet and loved it. Everything you need and feels homely and warm, with the most fantastic views. We did walks nearby (saw ptarmigan), took our kayaks out on a nearby loch, and saw deer both in the area and also just beneath the chalet on the edge of the loch. The chalet was the perfect base. Would very highly recommend!

The Hideaway with private outdoor hot tub and spectacular view is a luxurious cosy cabin overlooking the bay of Lochinver and the Assynt mountains. The property is open plan and features a superking size bed, high quality armchairs, a sleek kitchen and a flat screen tv. From the main living area, french doors lead to a generously sized balcony featuring a BBQ, wood burning stove, seating and stunning sea and mountain views.
Baddidarroch is a quiet area on the outskirts of Lochinver, with beautiful views across the bay to the mountains beyond, and within walking distance of local amenities.
  • The Hideaway is a great little hidden gem. We didn’t get to use the patio area because of the weather but if the weather was good it would be great to sit out in the evening and enjoy the view. Everything was spotlessly clean and we had very good communication with Jason. We did use the hot tub despite the wind and rain which was great. Disappointed that no restaurants open or take away options so had to get food from the spar. But I guess it’s the time of year.

  • Jason’s Hideaway in Lochinver was everything we had hoped for and more. We could not fault this little haven of tranquility! Although we didn’t have much sunshine this weekend to go with it, the hot tub was a dream and a great way to end the day. The cabin was immaculate and well equipped with everything you could need - we were worried we hadn’t brought enough stuff with us for the weekend but there was no need to worry as we had everything there. The fire was a great addition as well, especially as we had a chillier evening. All in all a fabulous getaway and we will definitely be back - 10/10.

  • Nancy's place is perfectly located for anyone exploring the mountains and lochs of Assynt. Due to a change of plans, we had to add another day to our stay the same day and Nancy quickly confirmed it was all ok. The property itself is a lovely, warm space sheltered from the elements and the lack of wifi actually makes it a great place to switch off.

  • Very warm and cozy place, expect amazing views, silence and peacefulness. We stayed over Christmas and really enjoyed the solitude. There are really nice walks to go on, especially the waterfall at Eas a' Chual Aluinn.

  • The Shepard’s cottage was a fantastic place to stay for a long weekend. I was still holder at the Winter Festival and so coming back to a lovely warm house was fantastic. So quiet and peaceful, with stunning views to wake up too. Perfect spot to tour around the west. Highly recommend. 5*

  • 2nd stay at this location in the last month.. Stayed for 4 nights on the first visit, which just wasn't enough time and so booked up a further 7 nights of which I've just gotten back from. Managed to see the deer this time around... Not quite sure how I must have missed them the first time as everywhere I looked there were huge groups of deer at all hours of the day and night throughout my 7 night stay. Props to Nancy for making this place available, it's absolutely stunning. Hopefully it'll not be much longer until my next trip! Thanks again, Ross

Extremely great value for money and the views are breathtaking, both from the property and travelling to the property. Red stag were regular visitors.. At night. Never did see one on my visit but must have been a good 20 feet away from them most nights given the noises they come out with. I've no doubt if I wasn't such a slob with my lie ins I'd have spotted a few grazing about in the early mornings. Place is pretty much slap bang in the middle between Ullapool and Loch Inver, both places I visited a couple of times on my trip (visit the pie ship in Loch Inver if you're in the area). Cannot recommend the place enough and it's definitely not a one and only visit from myself.

  • We had a great 5 night stay at Graham and Alison's place. The apartment is joined to their bungalow in a quiet culdesac with lovely views. The accommodation was cozy, clean and very comfortable and had everything we needed. We were blessed with good weather and enjoyed long walks (bagging munros) paddling at white sand beaches and sampling cakes at local cafes. Fantastic holiday and brilliant hosts.

Traditional stone cottage on the coast 8 miles from Lochinver, with views of sea and hill, renovated to a high standard with underfloor heating and a modern well-equipped kitchen and bathroom. A peaceful hideaway for 2 people on a working croft.
Beyond the end of the road, with views across Clashnessie Bay to the spectacular Sutherland hills of Quinag, Ben Stack, Arkle and Foinaven, you will find Laid Bothy. It is a traditional single storey stone cottage, renovated sympathetically and to a high standard. The rooms are warm and cosy, with underfloor heating under natural slate tiles. Walls are natural stone and well-insulated wood panelling. There is a well-equipped modern kitchen off the cosy living room, a high-spec. shower room, and a bedroom with a king-size double bed. There is also a large entrance hall with plenty of space for boots and coats, and a concealed washing machine. The Bothy is ideal for individuals or couples, with the bed normally set up as a king-size double, although it can be separated into two singles. There is free wifi. There is also a television which receives Freesat channels. The house is attached to a byre on one side and is set on a working croft, with rare breed Hebridean sheep, pigs and hens, and Highland cattle on the neighbouring croft. Produce from the croft may be available to purchase, depending on the time of year you visit. Laid Bothy provides a peaceful escape from the pace of modern living, without compromising on comfort and is an ideal base for exploring the magical landscape of Assynt and the Northwest Highlands.
Clashnessie Bay, with its large sweep of sand and gently sloping beach, is a short walk away (1 km round the coast or 1.5km along the road) and has a car park if you want to transport equipment there. There is also a small stony beach at the bottom of our croft where we launch our kayaks. The main beach is very safe, although we recommend wetsuits if you are going to be in the water for long! There are other excellent beaches nearby, at Clachtoll and Achmelvich, walks to suit all ages and levels, from the All Abilities Path near Loch Assynt, to the Munros of Ben More Assynt and Conival, not forgetting iconic Suilven, Quinag, which you can see from the Bothy, and the other beautiful hills of the Northwest Geopark. This is a mecca for geologists, with a visitor centre at Knockan Crag and a cafe and exhibition at Rockstop in Unapool. Those interested in historic buildings can visit the ruins of Calda House and Ardvreck Castle near Loch Assynt, the old kirk at Inchnadampf and the newly excavated broch at Clachtoll. You can go on boat trips from Lochinver and Kylesku or visit Handa Island, an RSPB reserve where puffins, guillemots, razorbills, fulmars and kittiwakes nest in the cliffs, not forgetting the skuas who may dive bomb you as you walk across the island! There are small but well-stocked licensed grocery shops in Clachtoll, Drumbeg and Lochinver and a Tesco in Ullapool. Drumbeg Stores provides a delivery service for advance orders. Lochinver is also famous for its pottery, where you can see articles being hand-painted, and its pie shop, and there are many places to eat there at all price levels, including a Michelin-starred restaurant.
  • Fantastic spot in an absolutely beautiful spot. Has a really nice cosy cottage feel to it, and nice and warm, especially at this time of the year. My girlfriend and I loved the long weekend spent at this Airbnb.

  • We loved our stay at Laid Bothy. The place was sparking clean and cosy. Vanessa and David provided detailed descriptions of lovely local walks and were very happy to answer any questions we had. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to get away from it all and take in the beautiful Scottish scenery.

  • A remote and wonderful location. This is a very comfortable place to stay and is highly recommended. Just make sure to bring enough food for your intended stay.

    Michael2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Spectacular location overlooking the bay. A gorgeous stone bothy which has been beautifully decorated. A very special place. Make sure you stock up on provisions for your stay as it’s quite a long drive to the nearest shops.

    Hilary2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Laid Bothy is beautifully situated with great views. It's just nice to stay here! It is perfectly decorated, you can start cooking and catering right away, all super practical with fully equipped kitchen, here Vanessa thought of everything. The living room invites you to read and you can also see what happens outside weather wise. You can also start right from the house, otherwise the surrounding area offers very good hiking possibilities. We used several suggestions from Vanessa, all great. The washing machine was also briefly in use. We had changeable rainy weather and felt very well there. We would go back anytime. Also, the larger house above is beautiful!

    Ulrike2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Idyllic stay This is a beautiful little Bothy, tastefully and comfortably converted to all modern needs and with everything you could need (even a knife sharpener which many places could add to their ‘must-have lists’). The location is sublime - with lovely views across Clashnessie Bay and to the mountains beyond and North. It is as the end of a little road, so completely peaceful. A wonderful place to escape to is this stunning part of the world. Vanessa was swift and clear with all communication and welcomed us with a tour of the bothy and plenty local advice. Definitely recommend.

  • STAY HERE!! Coilessan is a beautiful cozy modern wooden home in the stunning hamlet of Inverkirkaig. Clean, well equipped, beautiful location , fab balcony and nice safe garden - and it’s all just meters away from the shore (perfect for sea kayaking). We have stayed here twice before and we be back again. This is my dream home! We enjoyed our home made meals both outside and upstairs in the fabulous lounge. This time M and I took the bunk room (we had friends with us), and we were v comfortable - the bunk beds are a good size for tall adults ....2m long and a decent width. We did some lovely walks, wild swims and of course a spot of kayaking on glassy water. Turquoise beaches, abundant wildlife ( spotted water vole, a slow worm, various frogs and one toad, a dragons flies, bumble bees, siskins and a vocal tawny owl all in the garden). Elaine and Charlie are lovely hosts. Spend time at this lovely home and you’ll not be disappointed! Hoping the wooden bear will be back too

We're offering a totally unique stay in our Polypod at Croft 76! You will have a private room, inside our huge polytunnel, along with veggies growing all around. The bedroom is cosy and comfortable and it's a semi off-grid experience with a compost toilet and pebble-floored shower (don't worry it's hot water!) We have a small croft, with a few free range laying hens, and grow lots of our own produce. Croft 76 is a 15 minute walk, or 2 minute drive, from the village and its amenities.
We're just into our third year, here in Scourie, having moved up from Cumbria. Our aim is to be as self-sufficient and eco-friendly as possible growing organic produce on our 1.5 acre croft. We're aiming the polypod towards cyclists touring the NC500 route (although, obviously, not exclusively...everyone's welcome!)
We are just a 15 minute walk, or 2 minute drive, into Scourie village with it's local amenities and beautiful sandy beach. There is a village store, 24 hour fuel station, fishing and outdoor shop, bar and restaurant, and a cycle repair shop. There are so many things to see, just on our doorstep, so you may like to stay longer than one night! It's just a 15 minute drive to the Handa Island ferry, a bird reserve with over 100,000 birds over the summer season, and it's a great place to see puffins!
  • Really lovely, magic space in a great location. The hosts are amazing and really friendly with good local knowledge for hikes and places to visit.

  • Kirsten & Nicks space is great for being close to nature and the environment. We were a little worried about it being late November and it being cold. However the bedroom is so well insulated with a heater and the Pod room allows you to have a nice warm space to relax in after a long day in the hills. Homemade bread went down very well.

    Henry2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Kirsten and Nick’s place; they made us feel very welcome and the bedroom and the ‘snug’ were warm and cosy even in November! The homemade bread and jam for brekkie was a highlight. Would recommend!

  • A unique and wonderful place. There are so many quirky and interesting aspects to the spacious environment that Kirsten and Nick have created. Wonderful bread and jam for breakfast, alongside cereal and great coffee. Both were generous in sharing their local knowledge and relaxed home. The bedroom was cosy too and a warm and fleecy robe was on hand for the shower.
