Situated in a perfect location with one foot close to the hustle and bustle of the heritage town of Hawick and the other with unbridled access to the beautiful Wilton Lodge Park. Entrance Lodge overlooks the Teviot river, with steps right outside the front door to the water's edge where little ones can go feed the ducks. • The cottage was in a great location, peaceful but near town and great for a bracing walk. It was spotlessly clean, great amenities and Sam was an excellent host, quick to communicate and help!

    Lucy2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Needed a weekend away to de-stress and this old gatehouse was excellent. Historic building is the right way to put it. Clean, well laid out and lots of great tv apps to watch. Bad flooding in Hawick on the Saturday, however, Sam called us to say everything will be okay as the house is on a hill. He also said if we need anything else just let us know. Wonderful stay.

    Logan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely house in a lovely location! There is everything you need and more, and, to be honest, we all thought it was a lot nicer than our own homes! Sam and Bev were very helpful in all their communications. I would definitely go back!

  • Hilltop cottage is a wonderful little sanctuary in the Scottish wilderness. I had such a wonderful time there in a clean og cozy cottage with amazing nature to walk in every day. The hosts were one of the most wonderful people that lives in this country. They always made sure I had everything i needed, whetever it was firewood, coffee, places to take my daily walk or just good company. It was with heavy heart I left the cottage and the lovely people that lived close by. I would highly recommend everyone who feel the need to get away from the hectic life in the city to take a few days in Mary and Andys wonderful cottage. Bless them

Allars Bank is the entire corner building and although there is a side entrance to the flat down the ramp to the right of the entrance, this door is NOT in use.The entrance to our place is from the top street level where there is a grey door which has no 3 on it . (There are two plaques on the right with 2A and 3G and 3H on them) You will need the code to get in. Please take a careful look at the photos to make sure you are at the right door. Enter the building and follow the corridor to a flight of red steps leading down to our flat. (Look for the arrow with 2A on it!)There is a key safe on the door frame so if we're not able to be here to check you in, you can get the keys and let yourself in.

  • Absolutely spot on accommodation! Mason was communicative and helpful and accommodating of our schedule. He was also thoughtful enough to leave milk and wine for weary travellers. Very kind indeed. The bathroom is bright and fresh and clean with a nice shower. Rooms are spacious for temp accomm. with place to hang some clothes, lay out suitcases and change - plus the option to create twin beds vs double. There are blackout curtains - always good! Carpets are new and clean. Linen was soft and the rooms are warm. Kitchen is very nicely finished and has a fancy coffee maker (and coffee) as well as tea and sugar alongside a kettle. There is a microwave and full fridge-freezer as well as pots and pans and knives and so on for cooking and storing food. Salt and pepper grinders were there. This flat is first floor, with a light coming on as you hit the landing, in case that's useful info. This location is ideal for exploring Melrose, Hawick and the general surrounds. We had a FABULOUS time in Scotland Border country. This is an absolute top choice and great value. Thanks so much Mason!

Five minutes walk gets you either into the town centre with multitude of shops / pubs / restaurants, or to a lovely park with a super play area. It's also next door to the leisure centre so you can go for a swim if you need something to do on a wet day! There are lovely walks through stunning scenery in local area, and the apartment is great to come back to at the end of the day. Having an Alexa-enabled device was a nice touch for the kids. John was really helpful in answering questions and making sure the booking process was seamless. All in all a great place to stay!

  • A great flat in Hawick, accommodation clean and tidy. Quick and easy communication with owner.

  • Great appartment close to the centre of town. We were doing the Borders Abbeys way and the appartment was on the route. It's a nice quiet spacious appartment which is very well appointed including lots of cooking essentials like oil and spices and John was even kind enough to get in some bread and milk for our stay. There are supermarkets in walking distance and a range of places to eat in the high St, although I would recommend booking ahead as all the best ones were full when we were there.

  • We stayed here for one night on our lands end to john o groats cycle. Pam and Ronny were the perfect hosts, making us feel so welcome and going out of their way with little extras. The space was amazing with a comfy sitting room and bedroom kitted out with a small fridge of goodies. We would definitely recommend this place and would love to stay for longer if we came to Hawick again.

  • What a fabulous place to stay! Although it’s small, is so quaint and peaceful. The flat is full of fabulous quirky handmade crafts. On arrival it was dark and raining. The flat was easy to find and close to the town. We stayed two nights and took full advantage of there not being a tele and played scrabble and uno for hours! Thank you for an excellent stay. Lindsay and John.

  • Massive thanks to Simon and Claire for their fantastic little gem of a place for the night. They were very accommodating with the late arrival, the little touches (chocolate/ great coffee / takeaway menus to hand etc) really made a difference after travelling a distance. The vinyl player was fantastic, and added to the atmosphere/ambience of the property. Nights sleep was comfortable and shower great. Top it off with breakfast on the terrace... Perfect. It'd be nice if there was a mirror to take off the wall/freestanding for the other half to do her makeup in the morning with, but that's us being really specific! Thanks again, Rob

  • We booked the house for a large family get together to celebrate a 21st birthday. Emma was extremely helpful from the moment we booked and welcomed us on arrival. The house is spotlessly clean, very spacious and is very well equipped to help you relax as soon as you arrive. It’s very well stocked including tea, coffee, prosecco, cooking ingredients, milk etc left for us and even a card and chocolate for our daughter who was celebrating her 21st. The hot tub was amazing and we managed to enjoy it despite the weather! The games room and cinema screen with a games console made for tremendous fun. The views from the dining room were fantastic and the beds were very comfy. Overall it was a fantastic place to spend time with our family ( and dogs! ) and I would highly recommend it to others and will book again.

    Lesley2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • House was awesome and communications between the host was excellent! Lovely location!

    Kelly2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at Croft Angry. The photographs really do not do the place justice. We absolutely loved the large open plan lounge. It is such a relaxing space. The weather was pretty poor when we were there but the underfloor heating worked a treat and we also made use of the open coal fire which Emma had prepared for us. It was quite a feature. We spent hours just chilling with music and drinks in that one area. Despite the wind and rain, three of us also enjoyed the hot tub. As with the rest of the property it was ready for use and spotlessly clean. We didn't get round to using the games room facilities but were very impressed with the range of options which would certainly be perfect for anyone staying with mixed age groups. In addition, the excellent position of the property means that everything is only a short walk away if you feel the need to venture out. I could wax lyrical for ages but in short, the house is very well equipped, with many lovely touches which really do make it feel homely. As for Emma, she is a star. She ensured we had everything we needed and helped us out with recommendations for dining. We enjoyed the Golf Club Carvery before checking in on the Sunday afternoon and had a lovely meal at the Italian - Santa Marina - on the Monday night. Two nights simply left us wanting more and we may very well be back.

  • Just spent a weekend with the girls here for my 40th birthday, the place is as lovely as it looks in the pictures, spread out over three floors gave the 10 of us plenty space to relax in the hot tub, play pool in the games room or watch a movie on the big screen in the lounge! Emma the host was so helpful and very quick to reply to any questions I had. Would definitely recommend this property!

    Adele2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We booked a a trip for 12 adults and 1 dog for a weekend in January. All communication prior to the stay was very helpful and the hosts were always quick at replying to messages. Accommodation easy to find and check in was very simple. Accommodation is beautiful with lots of space for large groups. The accommodation was very clean and the technology in the property was fantastic with all the latest mod cons. The house is supplied with everything you could need and more and my family had a great time playing the many board games and games of pool. Would recommend this Airbnb to anyone and we are already planning our next stay here!

House has more than enough space so it didnt feel crowded with 9 adults. Could not fault the kitchen and bathroom facilities. Theres no doubt we would happily return in the future.

Hawick is famous for it's cashmere knitwear shops. We have our own shop at Wiltonburn. There is an award winning park at the road end, and a leisure centre in town. A wonderful area for playing golf with around 18 golf courses in the Borders. Also an excellent area for horse riding and walking or cycling, with marked routes from the farm. Floors Castle, Hermitage Castle, Melrose and Jedburgh Abbeys are all within easy reach. Sir Walter Scott's house at Abbotsford is also worth a visit. It is approx. 50 miles to both Edinburgh and Newcastle, and 40 to Carlisle with a new rail link from Tweedbank to Edinburgh. The fabulous beach and castle at Bamburgh is good for a day out or Alnwick Castle and gardens in Northumberland where Harry Potter was filmed is good for children too.
  • Willow herb cottage is the perfect getaway! Comfortable, cosy and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed a long weekend break - despite the grey and wet weather. Sheila is an excellent host - prompt communication and thoughtful touches such as fresh flowers in the cottage and home grown tomatoes! We made use of the log burner whilst we were visiting so the cottage felt cosy and warm throughout. We used the cottage as a base to explore the borders and further up into Scotland taking in sights such as the Galloway Forest, Kielder Water, Melrose, Abbortsford house, Preston Mill and Wellington house and gardens. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and shower convenient on the ground floor. We used around £8 on the electric machine for the weekend so handy to have a few pound coins on the side and a little seemed to go a long way! Thank you Sheila for a lovely stay, I am sure we will return! Emma, Neil and the dogs 🐾

  • Great location. Loved the log burner. Sheila acknowledged that the place is being updated but all was fine. It's a traditional cottage in a stunning area.

  • Thank you for the amazing hospitality. We really enjoyed our trip. Willowherb cottage was secluded even with the neighbours in Foxglove next door. It was so quiet we couldn’t even tell we had neighbours. We stayed for 5 days with 4 adults and a baby and used approximately £8 in electric and we stayed in a lot. The coin box is £1 coins only and easy to use. It was an amazing location and followed the instructions on how to find it. So lovely, quiet and beautiful.

  • Lovely house in a lovely town, very well placed for getting into the centre and also popping out into the countryside. The thing we found most handy was that all the taxi drivers knew where the house was without us trying to explain novice directions - just "oh yeah, the fireman's house!"

    Eilidh2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn't ask for a better place to stay. The house itself is great and it's incredibly clean. There's a good selection for breakfast in the morning as well. Keith is a brilliant host, quick to respond to questions and very attentive making sure you enjoy you stay.

  • A lovely, well kept, large old house set in a great position up on the hill. Beds were comfy, breakfast was a great little extra to start the day - with a good and varied choice. Our thanks go out to Keith for the accommodation and the help and advice regards where to go on a wet and windy day.

Airy and comfortable Static Caravan. Situated beside the River Teviot. Convenient for exploring the Scottish Borders. Hawick Town Centre is less than 5 minutes drive away where you will find all your bar and restaurants, supermarkets and a brand new play park at Wilton Lodge Park. Jedburgh is a 10 min drive away which is a lovely historic town with plenty to do such as visit Mary Queen of Scots house, Jedburgh Castle Jail.
  • Great stay for a great price. Other reviews mentioned it was a little run down/older which it was but it was absolutely nipping clean and really comfortable.

  • Had a lovely relaxing 4 nights at this lovely cosy caravan. Surrounding area beautiful. Fab value for money and Shirley very quick with communication. Definitely would stay again and recommend. Thank you for a great peaceful mini break x

    Rachael2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The van is spotlessly clean and nice and cosy. Great location for exploring the surrounding area - we visited Jedburgh Abbey, Lindisfarne, and Hadrian’s wall, but there was so much more we could have seen. The weather was utterly dreadful, so you really did appreciate having a nice caravan to return to. Had it not been for the weather, we would have also explored some of the walks around the campsite. The campsite itself is quiet and there is no club house or evening entertainment, which is perfect, if like us you are looking for a relaxing break. I would recommend this caravan to anyone looking for a quiet retreat for a few days.

    Carys2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely few days at the caravan. Its a quiet and friendly site. It was very relaxing and I slept like a log ! The caravan is very homely with every thing you need . Its located next to a river and 5 mins in the car to the town when required Would definitely recommend as not too pricey

    Sarah2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Nice spacious caravan to stay in. Sits in a lovely quiet area and only 2 mins drive from the main town Hawick. Will hopefully be back at some stage in August.

    Greg2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great caravan at realistic price in a location that allows you to explore the local areas. Supermarkets are about a 5 minute drive away, river is right out of the living room window, road into Hawick is to the rear of the caravan. Towels, sheets, hand soap, crockery, washing liquid, tea towel, TV, were all provided for our stay, we just had to turn up and relax.

You can also follow the Ruberslaw Circular Route, a 5 mile hike where you will be rewarded with breathtaking views to the Cheviots, or the 6 mile Minto Hills route which starts and finishes at Denholm Village Green - a perfect spot to enjoy tea and cake after the day’s exertions! Similarly, there is some fantastic cycling and mountain biking to be had here from family friendly leisure routes to more challenging hill terrain including the NCN Route 1, Four Abbeys Cycleway, Tweed Cycleway, and Borderloop tour. For wet-weather fun, the Teviotdale Leisure Centre has a pool and other activities to keep children happy and entertained, and the Tower Mill Hub has a cinema, theatre and cafe. The outstanding cultural city of Edinburgh is an easy day trip - just over an hour by car from the property. Not to be missed are some of the events and festivals running during the course of the year - our historic Common Ridings and Cavalcades, Border Rugby Sevens, National Hunt Racing at Kelso, the epic Borders Book Festival as well as Food Festivals, Music Festivals and Walking Festivals. For golfing, the 18 hole Minto course lies approximately1.1 miles north of the property, a gem of a parkland course with wide challenging holes and the very aptly named ‘Everest’ at the 12th. Across the wider area, you have a vast choice from stunning parkland tracts to PGA courses, including the Roxburghe Championship course at Kelso. There is clay shooting at Braidwood and fishing and shooting days can all be arranged nearby. For riding, the area has rich historical connection dating back to the Border Reivers in the 13th and 14th century and the Ian Stark Equestrian Centre and Broomhill Riding Centre both have an illustrious reputation for training those new to the sport through to advanced riders looking to refine their technique and skill set. Fishing for salmon, trout and grayling can be arranged directly with the owner, within season, on Teviot Bank's own 1.5 mile stretch of river just minutes from the cottage where reputedly the largest salmon on the Teviot was caught. My place is close to the town centre and all amenities, including the Leisure Centre and Parks. Local transport is just around the corner. You’ll love my place because of the river views. Heron and Ducks are quite regularly seen on the River as well as Salmon (when in season). We have endeavoured to make the Apartment as comfortable and cosy as possible with all mod cons. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with kids).
The Apartment is centrally based for easy access to Hawick town centre. The Leisure Centre is only 4 minutes walk away. If you wanted to take a train to Edinburgh, the local bus service is just around the corner and will take you to Galashiels, in under an hour, where you can hop on the Waverley Line train. The beautiful border countryside is only a couple of minutes drive from the Apartment. Or you can take a scenic walk along the banks of the River Teviot.

  • What a fabulous place to relax. Gorgeous flat, spotlessly clean. The town is a short walk away and lovely to explore. Morrisons is 2 minutes away, very convenient! We had a very relaxed weekend. Would definitely like to come back.

  • Lovely flat in riverside location. Easy, short walk into town. Parking on street outside flat. Great hosts, good communication. Thoroughly recommend if you are planning a trip to the borders of Scotland.

  • A nice flat. It is very nice on a river. Look big enough to feel good with a family
