Discover Minglewood, a lovely old barn converted into a 800 square foot private getaway. Soaring ceilings with exposed beams provide a light, spacious main room. This great room design includes a cozy seating arrangement facing a classic woodstove, allowing you to enjoy a romantic open fire. The queen bed is situated to provide privacy as well as an intimate sleeping space. French doors lead out to your own deck-the perfect spot for your complimentary morning coffee and pastries. Adjacent to the great room is a kitchenette complete with refrigerator, microwave and sink. Dishes and silverware are also provided. A modern ¾ bath, heat and air conditioning complete the amenities. In addition to television, Minglewood offers you the unique experience of a home theater. Watch your favorite DVD’s in blue ray, Netflix, HBO; or connect your laptop and enjoy a slideshow of your vacation! Situated on a scenic rural lot abutting pastureland, Minglewood is less than 5 miles from the bustling shopping village of Freeport and LL Bean. Portland, with acclaimed restaurants and Old Port nightlife, is an easy 15 minute drive south. You can also enjoy the islands of Casco Bay from Winslow Memorial Park, located less than 2 miles down Staples Point Road. This lovely park boasts a tidal beach and boat launch, awesome playground, and picturesque hiking trails. The rural byways of South Freeport are popular with the biking crowd.
  • Minglewood is a wonderful combination of location, amenities, and gracious hosts.

  • My wife and I had an amazing stay at Minglewood. Thoughtful touches everywhere and we felt immediately at home! The fresh baked goodies, fruit and creamer you left made our mornings effortless. The provided coffee was wonderful as well. Even on the coldest weekend in Maine this season the multiple heating sources kept us cozy throughout our stay! I'm sorry we didn't have a chance to meet Jamie and Sally but we were eyeing that firepit under the snow outside and are already thinking about a return during the summer or fall to enjoy the outdoor amenities as well! Thanks again and best to you both, Jamie and Sally!

  • We absolutely loved Minglewood! I think the pictures don’t even do it justice. It was much bigger than we thought it would be, clearly newly renovated and super clean. It was cozy because of the way they’ve decorated (and the fire place, of course!) but the high ceiling and bright windows meant it didn’t feel stuffy and it was not overly rustic. It felt private and was off the beaten path but not deep in the woods. The bed was really comfortable and the projector set up was great. They left coffee and tea as well as a light breakfast - banana bread, orange juice and yogurt! The kitchen was bigger than I thought and they’ve outfitted it with everything you’d need (a microwave, hot plate, electric kettle, crockpot etc.) but just note that there isn’t a stove or oven so don’t plan on cooking an elaborate meal. It was perfect for a weekend getaway. It really exceeded our expectations and we’ll definitely be back!

    Jane2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful time staying here! Loved it and would definitely come back again!

    Robert2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Super nice place to stay in the Freeport area. Very neat and clean with great amenities. From homemade muffins to fresh flowers, Minglewood fits the bill. Nice wood stove, comfy queen bed too. Tucked in the woods a bit, just enough off the beaten path. Do not hesitate to book. You will be pleasantly surprised!

    Marie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Minglewood is the sweetest, coziest little getaway. It’s private enough to make you feel like you’ve truly gotten away from it all, but still just a short drive to all the shopping and dining in Freeport. Jamie and Sally made it so welcoming for us with thoughtful little touches like fresh baked cranberry bread and candies on the pillows. It’s the perfect romantic weekend hideaway!

    Bren2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fabulous time at Jamie & Sally’s. Location was close to local shopping yet far enough away to be private, quiet and relaxing. Minglewood has unique home decor and very clean. A definite return visit.

    Karen2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Minglewood is the perfect place for a couple getaway! A beautiful cabin with wood stove, comfortable living area and a lovely view. Only a 20 minute drive to Portland and 5 minutes to Freeport. We spent a whole morning just relaxing in front of the wood stove while it snowed! Jamie and Sally add wonderful special touches like fresh flowers, essentials for coffee and snacks and homemade baked goods (which are amazing!) We don't often visit any place twice but we will definitely be back!

Welcome to our dog-centric organic habitat! You have the comfy first floor of our split level home, with your own entrance and little fenced yard, and we live upstairs. Take full advantage of our “stay and train” program (Jenny is a CCPDT certified professional dog trainer) or just enjoy Bliss Woods Farm’s organic gardens, local trails, tidal beaches, and Freeport/Yarmouth restaurants and shopping! Twenty minutes to Portland or Brunswick, with many dog welcoming excursions nearby!
Our organic gardens are nested in multiple layers of fenced in rooms that allow you to safely manage your dog and condition positive emotional response to training. If you only need one room, you get a room with a private bath that opens into a small private dog training and exercise area. Your room is equipped with giant crates and gates that you can use if you need them. Beyond your very dog friendly room and yard are mown fields, and dog-centric organic gardens, sometimes with a view of lovely belted gallway cattle. In winter, bring skis and learn to skijor around the fields. An addition bedroom abuts your room and is available (additional fee may apply) if you need a second bedroom. Our facility of fields, fenced training yards and trainer lounge/barn is surrounded by 3 miles of preserved woodland trails. We are 1.7 miles to Winslow Park (a dog friendly waterfront park, where the tidal waters are warm and very swimmable, to us anyway) and 3 miles in the opposite direction to LLBean's flagship store and factory store. We are only 1 mile to S Freeport Village, the marina and maybe the best fried clams in the world!
We are an organic subsistance farm, growing approximately 50% of the food we eat, and we are happy to share. You are welcome to pick berries or flowers or herbs, enjoy the gardens and leave your dog here while you enjoy swimming at a Winslow Park. Bliss Woods Trails here are dog friendly, but not TOO friendly! Bring bug off clothing for venturing into the woods, where mosquitos can swarm! Bliss Woods surrounds our farm, it’s a preserved forestry area with approximately 3 miles of dog friendly trails. We are about 1 mile to the S. Freeport marina, the YMCA, restaurants, 3 miles to downtown Freeport and LLBean. We're barely a 20 minute drive to Portland’s East End Beach (dogs welcome off leash before 8 am and after 5 pm) and the trail to the downtown Portland waterfront. We're on a fairly busy road but our property is entirely fenced in. You can just open the door and let your dog(s) outside with no worries.
  • Perfect place for you and your dog. We are repeat clients. Jenny and Al are great hosts. Despite the focus on dog visitors, the space is spotless. Very convenient to both Freeport and Portland.

    Kevin2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful experience!!! My husband and I were so happy with our stay, and our dog Luca was equally happy. We chose to stay because of Jenny’s expertise with dogs and dog training. She was great with Luca!! Her facility is excellent and we recommend anyone who wants training for their pup, please go see her! Our room was in a great location, just couple miles from great restaurants and shops in Freeport. Our room was clean, and the location was beautiful. We highly recommend.

    Nicole2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely Clean accommodations. You probably will not find a better place to bring your dog! Jenny is most accommodating and helpful. We highly recommend.

    Doug2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny and Albert are wonderful hosts. I really enjoyed the gardens and the opportunity to let my dog roam the property and to train with Jenny. Jenny was a wonderful guide to local places and it really enriched our trip. I have to mention that the beds were so comfortable and the rooms and amenities were cozy and we felt totally at home.

    Kendra2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a unique and incredible place. I didn’t have my dogs with me, but wish I did. For my purposes the location was ideal and the unit perfect. It had lots of room and a basic kitchen area with microwave and refrig. Being dog-centric, it is a very practical place... not luxe. The farm and dog training areas were beautiful, with trails running off into acres. I was carless, but Uber was available. Jen was an incredible and helpful hostess. Loved her enthusiasm.

    Susan2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny kept in great communication and was very accommodating! Great value and an awesome location.

    Rachael2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Repeat client. There is no better place to stay with your dog. Recent addition of porch was a great idea. Massive fenced area is great to let dogs wander off-leash.

    Kevin2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a fun stay with unique accommodations. We brought our 17 year old beagle and Jenny was so understanding and sweet with our situation. We could not have asked for a better place for our needs traveling as a family with a dog. Very convenient to Freeport (important - El Jefe and Frostys Donuts) and Portland. Everything was perfect! We joke that after seeing our pup on the farm, perhaps she wants to retire to Maine!! Thank you again to Jenny!

We are renting out our converted microbus on our small farm. The bus has a double bed, counter, writing desk, small fridge, captains chair and storage space. It's parked next to our 100 foot, cement floor greenhouse, which has a propane grill, an outdoor shower and it is a great spot to sit and relax. *Winter months* There is no running water. Bring drinking water and good boots for snowy terrain! We have a heater and tons of extra blankets that keeps the bus very cozy!
The bus has been home bound for three years now, hosting folks from all over. Before it’s current role as tiny home, it traveled across the country, mobile home style, running on waste vegetable oil and lit up by solar power. Our family has grown and put down roots and the bus was our first home on this land as we began our farming adventure. The farm is very much a work in progress. There is currently a small food forest on the land. A hoop house and some field space where we grow all of the tomatoes, onions, garlic, peppers and greens our family eats year round as well as many seasonal fruits and veggies. We are working at planting many perennial medicinal herbs including echinacea, marshmallow, lavender, mints, lemon balms, California poppy and lemon balm to name a few. At the same time we are leaving many wild spaces for native plants to flourish and planting more native plants to see if they will take in this ecosystem.
We live five minutes from the highway, 8 minutes from downtown Freeport, 15 minutes from Brunswick and twenty five minutes from Portland Maine. We also live near some off the beaten path towns including Lewiston and Lisbon falls, be sure to check them out for fun events (hot air balloon festival, moxie parade etc) and great restaurants. The bus is set back off of a commuter road which is busy at rush hour times, the only traffic is getting off the highway around 5 pm but that is minor. We rent out the bus and a tent platform so the greenhouse can be more of a communal space when we have multiple guests and our family is working on the farm or playing in the field. When we are around we are happy to give tours of our herb gardens and let you know about the best swimming, walking and eating spots around.
  • Really nice place ! :)

    Flo2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stop by during our road trip! Super cute and a fun story to tell

    Oliver2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the bus! Very cool and perfect place to crash for a night. It got below freezing overnight and the space heater and blankets kept the bus nice and warm. It's small but absolutely worth the value.

    Kevin2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Though we only stayed for one night we had an amazing time under the stars at Kristen's place. Check-in and check-out was seamless, and the hosts were super communicative. Thanks!

    Winnie2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this stay. Couldn't have asked for kinder hosts! The bus is very cozy and warm with the space heater. Bed is also very comfortable. Recommended!

    Emily2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • There is something magical about staying on Kristen's microbus. My stay was super cozy and the solar powered heater was very useful during my Autumnal stay. Her hospitality is superior and the property itself is simple but beautiful. I highly recommend her place to anyone looking for a rustic, bohemian experience!

    Sarah2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great way to spend the night semi-outdoors. The bed was very comfy and although it was cold at night the space heater helps a lot. Nice way to spend a night during a week of leaf peeping!

    Susan2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • It was a lovely experience to spend the night at the converted bus. It is very ingenious and unique. The farm where it is located is amazing and very close to Freemont. I would recommend it to anyone visiting this part of Maine.

Bailiwick Cottage is a cozy, private cottage that looks south down Freeport (Harraseeket) Harbor in Freeport, ME. It is a 4 season accommodation that is close to Freeport shopping, Portland eating, and the Adventure Schools of LL Bean. The cottage sits approximately 50 yards from our main house, has its own parking space and patio, and offers the ability to come and go as you wish. We have had 12 honeymoons in the cottage and several have used it for a multi-day, solo meditation retreat.
This is a relatively new cottage, built in 2013/14. The interior is 280 (14'x20') square feet and is essentially an efficiency apartment with a single room serving as living, bedroom, eating, and kitchenette. There is a private bath with tub/shower and toilet. The hand-tooled copper sink in the kitchenette serves both the kitchen and the adjacent bath. It has Heating and Air Conditioning and all new appliances. The interior is cozy/artsy/funky, yet functional with cable TV, Wi-Fi, and a blue tooth speaker for music from your iPhone or Android. The kitchenette is functional for light eating or warming up food. There is a bar size refrigerator, microwave, and an induction single "burner" cooktop. In season, we also have an outside patio table with chairs for outside eating or reading. The cottage stands alone and has its own parking. Come and go as you please. You can walk through the woods to the shoreline to view the clam diggers or shorebirds. We pretty much leave you alone in your space. You come to Maine to get away, and we respect that. The cottage sits on a dirt road, about a 1/4 mile off the "tar". Wolfe Neck Woods State Park is about a mile away and offers hiking, biking, and shore walks in summer and cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. It is great jogging and biking around us and, if you are lucky, you will see Joan Benoit-Samuelson (Olympic Marathon Gold Medalist) out on her daily run. We are 4 miles to downtown Freeport and its shopping and 10 miles to downtown Brunswick and Bowdoin College. The Portland Jetport is 25 miles away and is about a 35 minute drive. Bow Street Market offers just about everything with a Maine twist (best wine and liquor selection in the state) and will even cook lobsters for you to pick up. The "Wedding Field" and "Wedding Barn" of Wolfe Neck Farm are less than a mile away and this cottage would be a nice location if you are attending a wedding at either. There is no public transit near the cottage. Walk to the park or to Wolfe Neck Farm. Otherwise you need a car. In winter, the road can be a little icy, so all wheel drive/4 wheel drive is recommended. In all other seasons, any kind of car works. Many people bring their bikes and enjoy great road biking. LLBean runs great half day and full day "Adventure Tours" including kayaking, paddle board, biking, fly fishing and trap shooting in spring, summer and fall. In winter they shift to cross country skiing and snowshoeing. They also host summer concert and own the 9 hole Freeport Country Club, if you like to golf. We are open all winter and the cottage is well heated. Bring your snowshoes or cross country skis for winter fun.
We are on a quiet dirt road that is about 1/2 mile long (Birch Point Road) and the cottage is about 2/3 down the road. There are some families with small kids on the road, so drive carefully. Our general area is populated with a mixture of farms going back to the 1700s and 1800s along with some more recent builds. You will see woods, farm fields, grazing belted Galloway cattle, grazing sheep, and some pretty cocky wild turkeys. Not many deer, no moose or bears, an occasional fox, and overhead some eagles, ospreys, a heron and an occasional egret. It is Maine.
  • The cottage is lovely. It is perfect for one or two and making simple meals. It feels secluded, but is very close to Freeport shopping, restaurants, and parks.

  • My fiance and I stayed at George's cottage while looking for a place to live in the Greater Portland area. Although we didn't get to spend much time there, it was the perfect place to come home to in the evenings after having busy days driving around Cumberland county looking at homes and apartments. We wish we could have had a full day to just hang out in the cottage, watch the tides, and explore Wolfe's Neck. If you are looking for a private, secluded, cottage to get away from it all, this is the place! It's also close enough to Portland to enjoy all of the amazing restaurants! Thank you George!

    Erin2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful little spot. Very peaceful and serene. George was very helpful and responsive.

  • George was an amazing host in our Valentine's trip to Portland this weekend! A very cute little cottage right next to a lake which was beautiful. Super easy check in and check out and was always available to message during the weekend. Right down the street from LL Bean and the cute shops in Freeport! Thank you so much for a great stay!

  • Had a great stay at George’s cottage!

    James2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The location is superb, with beautiful views of the water. It’s close enough to Freeport and Portland but far enough away for privacy and peace and quiet. And close to the State Park for great walks in the woods and stops at sweet little beaches. The house is adorable with all anyone would need for a romantic get away. It was a perfect place in every way: comfortable, clean and convenient. Perfect for us!

    Gloria2020-02-02T00:00:00Z

  • Ren’s place was immaculately clean. We asked to check in a little early and that was no problem. We loved the coziness and decor of the space. The hot tub was amazing too! All in all, it was just the right place for our weekend getaway! Definitely would go back and recommend to our friends!

  • This air bnb was fantastic. My boyfriend and I had everything that we needed during our stay. Additionally, Ren surprised us wine and chocolate for Valentine’s Day weekend. That was incredibly sweet and thoughtful of her. My only complaint is that we didn’t stay long enough. Can’t wait to come back next year!

  • Beautiful home in a nice quiet neighborhood with easy access to anywhere you would like to go. Sandra and Cam were very welcoming with lots of great tips and what to see and do!

  • Quite possibly one of the best Airbnb's we have ever stayed in! Sandy and Cam were unbelievable hosts - warm, accommodating, and very hospitable! Their home is lovely, with a beautiful homegrown garden in the back full of fresh veggies and herbs. Cam took us a on fun tour of the garden on our last morning of our stay, definitely a trip highlight! The private room is cozy and clean, with a large en suite bathroom. There is a great kitchenette just outside of the room, with a fridge and freezer to put food/drinks in. There is also a larger kitchen towards the entrance with a coffee machine for the guests! We would highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone planning to visit Freeport ME. Their home is centrally located and makes getting around Freeport easy. We already know we need to come back to Freeport and stay with Sandy and Cam again!

  • Great stay experience. Sandy and Cam were so welcoming and helpful.

  • This was our first trip to Maine as well as using Air BnB; and it was an excellent experience. The location was in a quiet neighborhood; but not too far away from the main roads. The room and bathroom were very clean and met our needs. There was a list of local restaurants and places to explore. If we had any questions Sandra answered them promptly. We would definitely book with them again without question!

    Melissa2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra's place was in a great location to Portland and Freeport and many other towns. The home was spotless and the room was perfect as the bathroom was inside the bedroom....so no need for walking down the hall! There was a little sink and full size refrigerator just outside the room which was extremely convenient. Both Sandra and Cam made us feel welcomed throughout out stay. I would definitely book this AirBnB again!

Quiet, wooded, private, airy, beautiful North Eastern Coastal Town...
  • I LOVE THIS HOUSE! Honestly... I rented this home while visiting the area for a wedding. I grew up not far from here, but we have all since moved away. My husband, mother, and sister all stayed here and there was plenty of room for all of us to stay comfortably without feeling like we were at each other's toes. The beds are SUPER comfortable and they have wonderful bath products and plush towels... clearly, these owners are all about the details... which I love because so am I. We cooked two big meals during our stay and the kitchen is extremely well-stocked and ready for your families culinary needs. Now onto the important stuff... the design! This house is better in person than it is in the photos if you can believe that. Tucked back in a wooded lot that backs up to a creek, we instantly fell in love with the cozy, modern farmhouse vibe. Trust me... you're going to want to live here! We made day trips to the Old Port in Portland twice as it is only like 20 minutes, so it is super convenient.

  • Randy was quick with his response and the house was very clean and as advertised. Tucked back in a fairly remote location on the river and tree lined. Great spot for a quiet retreat.

    Jay2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Randy's home is amazing. I stay there annually with a small group and we always have a great time. The space is as stylish as it is functional. The furniture is beautiful. The kitchen is awesome. We love sitting by the fireplace. The rooms are all comfortable and well-appointed. The setting couldn't be better — there always seems to be a fresh coat of snow outside and it's calming to look out the abundant windows and see the flurries coming down. Just an all-around wonderful spot. Look forward to staying there again next year.

  • Good jumping off point when heading to Midcoast Maine, Bath etc. Sweet family and it was cool learn about their plans for their permaculture project. Fun with B the pup also :)

  • Aleister and I enjoyed our week at the farmstead! Kristen and her family were a pleasure to get to know; they have a lovely property so full of life...from bees and butterflies in the gardens to ducks and a sweet pup who loves to play. I'm excited about all of the plans they have to build a community there! The greenhouse with kitchen, seating area, and shower is a welcome treat - especially on cold evenings. The last night, we made a camp fire and chatted with new friends staying in the micro bus. The close proximity to Freeport and surrounding small towns is a bonus! There's even a 24 hour laundromat about 5 minutes away. Great food and shopping so close. Thanks for offering such a unique place for us to hang out! We'll be back someday! ✌

  • Exactly what we were looking for. The platform is upgraded to have a roof and three walls. It’s very clean and easy to find. Simple and easy.

    Alla2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at Kristen’s place! There’s a great shelter up on the platform, awesome composting toilet and semi-outdoor shower with hot water, and all on a gorgeous farm. Had no trouble finding the place, also did not find it a noisy spot. Would recommend to everyone and definitely stay here again!

    Katie2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The spot was absolutely lovely! The greenhouse is impressive and really well-conceived. Thanks for the great hospitality :)

    Connor2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is the prime destination for someone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world. Propped on the top of a hill above the ocean and nestled in the woods .. it just doesn’t get much better than that. Andrea and Kim were incredible hosts. Even when the power was out due to a storm, they made it seem as if nothing had even happened. They left a thoughtful breakfast, assisted us with kayaks, and gave us a lot of local options for activities. Kim even let us see the bees up close and personal! A great stay all around!

    Savannah2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea and Kim are natural hosts and their location provides for the idealic Maine experience. The kitchen is a delight for cooks and we ended up not eating out once. The kayaks are a wonderful addition for paddling around the very quiet bay they live on. Absolutely a must stay place if you are visiting the area.

    Byron2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space that feels like a true getaway. Andrea and Kim were great hosts and gave local suggestions. Highly recommended!

    Ryan2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here twice on either end of a big Maine trip and loved it! The perfect start and finish to a great trip. If you like to cook, this is the place to stay - wonderful kitchen and farm. Incredibly generous and kind hosts. Looking forward to staying here again.

    Jeremy2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea and Kim are the definition of super hosts! So generous with their time, knowledge and hospitality. They gave us the warmest welcome and made us feel very at home. Their local recommendations for activities and food were incredibly valuable although we could have happily stayed in the cottage all day talking with them. The space itself was very stylish and had great amenities, we only stayed two nights but could have comfortably stayed for weeks - when we return it’ll be for longer! The location is great if, like us, you’re exploring the Maine coast and being able to kayak (after a reassuring safety briefing) right on your doorstep is just a dream.

    Joni2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! It was amazing to unplug and enjoy some fresh air away from the city. The cottage was very clean and the owners do an amazing job of making you feel special with added food touches. They run it how Airbnb’s should be run. Will definitely stay again next time we come to Maine.

    Michael2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was such a lovely place! Quick access to a cute little beach and Andrea made sure equip the kitchen so we were able to cook ourselves breakfast in the morning. My partner and I especially enjoyed swinging in the hammock and enjoying the stars in the evening. We were able to see the milky way!

Located in the lovely coastal village of South Freeport, a stone's throw from Harraseeket Harbor, our barn-studio-suite is a separate living space (3 rooms plus a bath with shower) situated on a private, quiet lot, looking out on gardens and apple trees. A queen bed (new Saatva mattress) with silky, luxury sheets from Cuddledown.
In addition to the sunny bedroom, the bathroom with shower, and the entry foyer, there is a studio used for teaching T'ai Chi during the week (when we don't have guests), ideal for anyone who wants to bring their T'ai Chi, Yoga, or meditation practice with them, or roll out a sleeping bag for a friend. We also have an outdoor shower in our garden area.
The village of South Freeport is considered a hidden gem. A true harbor village, the streets are quiet and scenic for walking. There is so much nature to explore nearby- nature trails, beaches, swimming, kayaking. Then only a few minutes away the world changes and you have the shopping mecca of Freeport's legendary outlet stores, including the original LL Bean flagship store. And Portland, only 20 minutes away, has so much to see and do, offering a walking waterfront, museums and an abundance of outstanding dining opportunities.
  • This is a great place to stay if you want a slice of life in the picturesque village of South Freeport, Maine. It's a very private location, and convenient for taking walks down to the water and around the village. The Airbnb itself is comfortable, quiet, and well appointed.

  • Ken’s apartment was great! Perfectly located, clean, warm, quiet — and just a short walk from the Freeport harbor. We will be back!

    Mattias2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • My husband & I stayed @ Kens barn for x3 nights, using it as a home base while we traveled through Maine, Vermont, & New Hampshire. Ken was such a thoughtful host going above & beyond. He thinks of everything & was so hospitable. The barn was cozy, clean, inviting, peaceful, & welcoming. We loved staying here & would totally stay here again. Thank you Ken!❤️

    Leah2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Ken was a great host. He communicated frequently and was very fast to respond. His offered many suggestions and the ones we tried were spot on. My wife and I had a great time and we can't wait to visit Maine again.

    David2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptionally clean space overlooking beautiful gardens. A great jumping off point to explore Freeport and Portland. Host was responsive and thoughtful in all communication. if this place has any drawback, it is that the bathroom is downstairs, which was not really an issue for us, but might be for someone with difficulty using stairs.

    Crystalclippard@Gmail.Com2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • A stylish and comfortable place to stay! Especially loved the bed linens and coziness of the bedroom. And the gardens are exquisite! Perfect location for access to local restaurants and sights, as well as an easy drive to Portland.

    Marsha2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Kens place was fabulous. The location was perfect, off the beaten path but not too remote. The beautiful harbor was a quick stroll away. Ken was a great host and offered many great suggestions for dining, activities etc. We’ve stayed in a lot of AirBnbs and Kens place was one of our favorites. It was super clean, well appointed and very comfortable. I highly recommend.

We wanted our spaces to be an extension of the excitement and fun that comes while traveling and exploring new areas. That's why you'll see modern touches and bold colors throughout both units. Definitely not your everyday Hotel, or BnB!

Privacy and nature on the edge of the Village with a deck onto the yard, laundry, and small kitchen. Relatively quiet residential street. Walk to trails (2min), the famous Bow Street Market (3min), LLBean (5min), restaurants (3-8min), movie theater (4min), and Amtrak (4min). Have the best of both worlds!
This space is great! It is clean, simple, modest, and super comfortable. The flooring is new Pergo-style (summer 2015). It is perfect for either a single/couple or a couple with one child. The bed is a queen Tempur-Pedic. Third and/or fourth guest can sleep on an air mattress. The yard is great for children too. What really makes this space unique is how separate it feels from the hustle and bustle of Freeport despite being just a few minutes walk away. Small TV does not have cable, but it does have DVD and we do have strong wireless.
  • Jennifer's place is great! Perfect space with everything you need, plus such an amazing location in Freeport. Could not recommend it highly enough!

It was spacious, clean, and hospitable! Despite being a 1 night stay, we got the most of it! I highly recommend booking the place during the fall as the trees in the backyard were colorful!

Come and enjoy our new 1000 sq. ft. 2 bedroom, 1 bath barn apartment. Located on the 2nd floor & conveniently located 5 minutes drive from downtown Freeport. Living Room is bright, spacious and comfortable. Kitchen is fully-appointed with brand new appliances as well as pans/dishware/utensils. Bedrooms are quiet & feature comfortable memory foam beds. Bathroom is private & clean & features a spacious shower. This apartment was designed to accommodate short or long stays. No pets allowed, sorry.
The apartment is located on the 2nd floor of the barn. Over the past three years, we have converted the space from an empty hay loft, into a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment. It was a labor of love and now we are ready to share it! The barn is located on our property, but you will have the privacy of it being located in a separate building. However, it is located close enough, so if you have any questions or needs we can tend to them right away.
The apartment is located less than 3 miles from Interstate 295 Exit 20, but is located in a quiet rural residential area. The apartment is also only a short 5 minute drive from downtown Freeport.
  • What a gem! This beautiful, spacious space with woodland views envelopes you in warmth and comfort. Sparkling clean and well designed area. Kitchen has all the pots and pans and tools you need to cook, king size bed was very comfortable and warm, convenient laundry made our week+ stay easy. You feel you’re out in the country but freeway is only minutes away as is Freeport, Brunswick, Yarmouth and Portland a little farther. Highly recommended.

Our peaceful and secluded year-round oceanfront property's unique location allows our guests to appreciate beautiful sunrises and sunsets, enjoy the many geese and ducks swimming in the bay, and see eagles soaring overhead. We are located on the end of a private peninsula with large windows overlooking the water. The northern view looks across the water towards Wolf's Neck Woods State Park and Wolf's Neck Farm; and the southern exposure offers views of Casco Bay islands.
The property has been in our family for three generations and while the original log cabin is no longer with us, the updated post and beam house offers modern amenities and comfortable furnishings. It is tastefully decorated with amenities including all linens and towels; plenty of dishes, pots and pans, and utensils in the kitchen; bottled water; and high speed internet and flat screen cable television. A small selection of books for reading or you may take one, leave one. Plenty of DVDs and VHS tapes for both adults and kids. Full size washer and dryer. A two-zone baseboard heating system which you may adjust to your comfort level.
  • Great location. Lots to do in the area. The house was very clean and extremely comfortable. The views were wonderful.

    Dennis2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had another great stay at this peaceful house. This was our first time staying here this late in the year (November). The house was warm and cozy. The outdoors still beautiful! Amazing sunsets!

    Catherine2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at this property is like being on a ship at sea with incredible water views on both sides. The sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. LL Beans and Freeport village is about 7 miles away as is Bow St Market that has everything you need. This home was clean and well stocked and Philip the owner was welcoming and nearby. Lots of privacy here and quiet. Awesome stay, a 10!

    Peter2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • The views from every window are beyond compare. If you want to experience what old Maine felt like before all the ocean front development this is the place to feel like you have the peninsula to yourself (although there are houses nearby you can’t see them).

This very spacious and light filled apartment has beautiful views of a marsh and the headwaters of the Harraseeket River and also borders a bird sanctuary. You can put kayaks in across the street and it is a short 20 minute walk into downtown Freeport. There is a queen bed in the bedroom and an additonal twin in the large living room and a twin in a small private nook under the eaves off of the kitchen. Great year-round location.
This is a fully furnished and wonderfully lit apartment with it's own private entrance in a vintage Freeport home. It is very private and spacious and looks out on the marsh and Harraseeket River where you will often see our local Blue Heron. Also all of our electricity is generated from 28 brand new solar panels on our roof! There is wireless internet, cable TV, bathtub and shower, queen size bed plus two comfy memory foam twin mattresses for additional guests.
We overlook the beginning of the Harraseeket River with a place to put in kayaks and paddle all the way to South Freeport Harbor. We are across the street from the 200 acre Mast Landing Bird Sanctuary owned by Maine Audobon and a short walk up the street to Pettingill Farm, an historic saltwater farm. Both of these places have several walking trails. The Mast Landing area refers literally to where they landed the pine trees in the colonial times in preparation for shipping them to England for ship masts. It is one of the four original settlements in Freeport. We are also a 5 minute drive or short walk into downtown Freeport with all of it's shops, outlets and restaurants.
  • Great location! So easy to get to Freeport. Mandana is an excellent communicator. Thank you!

    Kate2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • I am a repeat guest - several times - at Mandana's charming apartment and hope to return many times in the future - so that about sums up my opinion! Outstanding is Mandana's kindness and welcome! Since I had to chose one outstanding feature, it is Mandana herself! But the apartment is so sweet and the perfect space for my dog and me when I come to Freeport on business. Best of all, the proximity to where I am working during my stay is perfect - about 1 mile! There is more than enough room for my purposes and I love the light and spaciousness. The bed is super comfortable and the ability to walk out the door and down the steps to several good walks for my dog is a bonus. It is also very very quiet. You can hear the swish of passing traffic in the distance, but the speed limit is low and the noise never bothers. The apartment itself is as quiet as you make it. In all, this is my go-to place for Freeport Maine!

    Linda2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was a large, cozy, sparkling clean and convenient space. We travel often, and rarely feel so "at home". The kitchen is large, clean and bright, bathroom sparkles, the living room is great for relaxing after a busy day, and the bed was very comfortable. There is beautiful artwork and ample reading material as well as games. A good place to unplug, if you need to, but with the ability to stay connected. Will visit again!

    Bob2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was very clean , the living space was well appointed. Although the location is on a slightly busy road , the living quarters are well insulated from traffic noise, therefore making it very quiet. It is appealingly close to downtown Freeport.

    Susan2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful and quiet location that’s close to everything in Freeport. Great value.

    Mark2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and comfortable. Tranquil setting, yet very close to town.

    Suzanne2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Even though we were only here for 2 days, the space was clean and comfortable with basic amenities provided. Mandana was provided quick responses to any questions. The location was very close to downtown Freeport and provided an easy commute to Portland. I would definitely recommend the place.

    Andrew2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Mandana's place is really great! Well-located, roomy, clean and with beautiful views. Also a great place for kids. Our 3-year old didn't want to leave!

Your own private hideaway very close to town and the water. Private sitting room with cozy chairs and TV. Just bought new sofa bed for the sitting room. Separate bedroom with double bed, large closet and bureau. Full private bath w/tub-shower. Fridge, microwave and coffee maker.
This space is convenient to shopping, restaurants, town parks and steps from a beautiful cove that once was a busy shipbuilding site. The rooms have all you need for a comfortable, relaxing stay. Also within walking distance is a town dock which is great for swimming at high tide.
It's an historic area where schooners were built. We're close to the salt water and there's pond for winter skating right across the road. And in the summer we've a dock for swimming a very short walk away.
  • Emma and Bob's home is a warm, inviting colonial in a great location in Freeport - close to the downtown hub but very quiet and peaceful. The privacy of the separate bathroom and entrance was great, and the space is cozy with warm touches (variety of coffee, extra linens, etc.). Hosts are very communicative and flexible with arrangements. Be aware that the home has cats and dogs, who are quite friendly.

    Adam2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Emma is a great host. The house is located close to downtown Freeport and was very convenient for our visit. The Studio was clean, check-in was fast and informal, and we loved her very friendly cat.

    Steve2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I had a lovely stay...we enjoyed visiting with the house kitties!

    Kyle2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • When you book your room in this old sea captain’s home, you may think you’re just booking a bit of history - but you’re actually booking Emma. Emma is one of those people who just wants you to be comfortable and happy, and she will look after you, whether you see her or not! Our towels were changed in the bathroom without our involvement, the lights were left on outside on our first night in case we were late....Emma is just kind by nature! The accommodation is as described; not exactly rustic, but it is old style. We were very comfortable, and enjoyed having the lounge next to our room, but you just have to understand that it’s not modern. Others have commented about the animals, who are lovely, but if you’re not keen, Emma will keep them away from you. There are others in the house, but we didn’t see them. And the bathroom door is right next to your bedroom door so we had no issue with that. We didn’t ever see Emma or her husband when we were using the bathroom. This is not a hotel, but it has character and charm, and you will feel as though you are living in times gone by.

    Julie2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • You can't go wrong here. Emma is a wonderful hostess ready for any of your needs. Bedroom and sitting room making your stay very pleasant with a private large bathroom full of fluffy towels and hot shower. Great location to walk to town, shop eat and walk off dinner on your way home. Delightful place.

    Mary2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a great find if you want spacious and comfortable accommodations slightly away from the busy main street but still within walking distance to the shops and dining in Freeport. Emma will make you feel right at home and after relaxing here, you may not want to leave.

    Suzanne2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great large space with very friendly host.

    John2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This home was a perfect place for a week of exploring the South and mid-coast regions of Maine. Unpretentious and comfortable. Emma and Bob were the perfect hosts for our stay. The two cats and the beyond cute little dog were an added bonus. If you don't like animals, don't come here. Yes, the bathroom is in the hallway right by the hosts bedroom, but their door is closed at night and they've got large bathrobes you can use if needed. This place has tons of character as it's from the 1800's. Would highly recommend Emma's place.

Escape to this quiet space and deep soak your mind in the meditation room or relax your body with the deep soaking tub and recharge after a long day. The whole 3rd floor is yours. A private sitting room, bedroom and bath are ready for your arrival. This is a 3rd story walk up. There is a parking space right outside the front door and a keypad lock. Easy access in and out. Your dog is welcome to join you.
There is a refrigerator, microwave, electric tea kettle and coffee maker for your use. There is no kitchen for cooking.
This neighborhood was developed well over 100 years ago by the local mill owners who built the homes here to provide housing for mill workers from Canada and their families. Eventually a walking bridge was built to allow families to get to church and to school across the Androscoggin River. That bridge will bring you into Brunswick in 5 mins. where you'll find great restaurants, breweries, a local movie theatre, museums, art galleries and Bowdoin College. My favorite coffee shop is an 8 min walk across the pedestrian bridge. Union Street Bakery and Coffee Shop makes the most amazing muffins, breads, cakes and cookies. Along with sandwiches and soups. You won't be disappointed if you head there. You're 15 mins from Freeport and LL Beans and just 30 mins from Portland and its amazing food and music scene. The most beautiful beaches in Maine are just a short drive from here. Along with hikes through the woods, bike trails, boat launches if you've got a canoe or kayak on the roof of your car.
  • We stayed with Mary for a month in winter and loved the place. it's a short 0.5 mile walk to downtown by way of the beautiful Androscoggin foot bridge and 0.75 miles to the Amtrak station. This makes her location perfect if you want to spend time at the wonderful restaurants in Brunswick and take the train into Freeport or Portland, all without driving. Mary's place is larger than the pictures suggest and it's very cozy and private. You effectively have a private entrance. The mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and kettle are sufficient for longer stays if you don't need a full kitchen. Mary is very kind and communicative. We have already booked another month with her and would highly recommend you give her place a try as well.

    Byron2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Mary was very friendly and easy to communicate with. We arrived a weekend of a snow storm and she made sure to check in on us to make sure our trip was going well and we were staying warm with the below average temperatures outside! Great location with plenty to do!

    Scott2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • I very much enjoyed my time in Mary's sweet place. Luxurious bath, comfortable bed, and a convenient spot to enjoy Topsham, Brunswick and Portland. I loved walking across the footbridge to Brunswick (there's a yoga studio only a 10 minute walk away). Short drive to beautiful hikes through woods or on beaches. I'll be going back, for sure!

    Amy2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • This space is clean, organized and stylish. The tub is spacious and pleasant amenities are provided to enjoy it in. Interesting books are provided to read with a sitting area. The mediation room is tranquil. The bed has great pillows and is cozy, the room stayed warm the entire night even with the snowfall outside. Highly recommend this blissful getaway retreat.

    Ally2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place for a quick getaway! Mary’s space is exactly as it’s described in all the best ways. It’s as peaceful and charming as it looks, the tub is amazing and the location is perfect for quiet and strolls into town. I hope to visit again!

    Lauren2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Mary is a wonderful host. If you get the chance to try her breakfast, it is absolutely delicious!! I enjoyed the meditation space and the amazing candle-lit bath. All-in-all, I had an amazing and memorable experience here!

You’ll love our place because of the neighborhood, the comfortable bed, the light, the screened in porch, walking trails, water access to the bay for swimming kayaking, and fishing. Our location is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, college visitors and families (with kids). The room has a queen size bed and a single daybed. There is also a comfortable leather couch.

Beautiful setting for a relaxing vacation. A quaint Maine cottage located on South Freeport Harbor and Casco Bay with views over the islands and open water. The cottage is only 50 feet from the water's edge with complete privacy and unobstructed views. The cottage has a living room area, a full kitchen and eating area and one bedroom with a queen bed. Pre and Post season 3-day minimum, July and August 5-day minimum.
We live in a house above the cottage. Guests are welcome to enjoy the dock but the boats are not available for use. Kayaks may be rented locally.
The cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood approximately 4 miles from downtown Freeport.
  • We came for a long weekend to get out of the city and we were very happy with the peaceful and beautiful setting of the cottage. It's a great location to quickly get to state parks to go walking/hiking, close to shopping, and close to Portland to spend time there as well. The cottage has a big picture window that frames the water view beautifully, even in rainy weather. The bed and sheets were very comfortable and whole space was clean and cozy for two people. I'd love to go back and see it in a different season, but late fall was still a great choice!

    Christi2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely spot, very quiet, with beautiful views across a harbour filled with sail boats and lobster boats chugging in and out. Nice walks with old colonial houses and a lobster place just at the end of the road. The cabin is very comfortable with everything you would need. Bring your bike.

  • My husband and I loved the cottage. Very relaxing. Stephanie was a great host and had breakfast Fixings waiting for us. It was also awesome that they had cable tv. Please note I do not take reservations from guests with no AirBnB reviews. Very private and quiet Carriage House. A long 600ft driveway puts you far away from the road into a secluded field surrounded by trees. Built in 2012, the 750 sq ft apt has an open concept living room/kitchen with vaulted ceilings but bed and bathrooms have doors. Sun pours into the home from sunrise to sunset and there is plenty of AC/ heat to keep you cool/warm.
Tempur-pedic queen size bed. Full shower and washer/dryer. Fully applianced. Comfortable and private. Enjoy the sunrise at the kitchen table and finish your day with a firepit or sitting in the private backyard enjoying the sunset. Just 2 miles from downtown Freeport's exciting shopping and superb restaurants! Catch one of LLBean's free concerts on select summer Saturday nights. Plenty of hiking at near by Bradbury Mtn or Wolfe's Neck Park. Tour an ocean side salt water farm at Wolfe's Neck Farm or spend an afternoon at Winslow Park Beach right in Frpt.
    Very quiet neighborhood, country-like setting.
  • Stephen’s home was lovely and perfect for a couple visiting the area. It’s just down the street from Freeport for easy access to shopping, groceries, breweries, and the highway to travel around. It was clean and a comfortable place to hang out when we got snowed in. Would definitely recommend!

  • Stayed up at Stephen’s place for a few nights and it was awesome. It was such a cute house and had everything available we needed for our stay. We did have a little trouble figuring out the heating system, but we figured it out. The house was also just about five minutes from downtown Freeport. I’d highly recommend staying here!

  • Stephen’s place was amazing!!!! Everything was perfect and close to Freeport downtown but far enough away to enjoy the peace and serenity Maine has to offer. Stephen was a wonderful host and quick to respond to any concerns I may have had or just to offer insight to any local attractions if not familiar with the area. I highly recommend Stephens place if traveling to Maine any time of year. I look forward to future stays if his place is available.

Adorable 3 bedroom house 10 minute walk to downtown Freeport, yet private and surrounded by greenery. It's a great spot for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). Bow Street Market is right up the street with everything you need to fill the cupboards and fridge.
The house is set on a 2.5 acre wooded lot on a hill by Frost Gully Brook. You will have the house to yourselves. There is storage and an art studio in the basement that is used intermittently, but not often, and only during the daytime hours. There is also a washer and dryer in the basement available by appointment.
The house is very close to the Harraseeket River with a place to put in kayaks and paddle all the way to South Freeport Harbor. It is also a very short walk to the 200 acre Mast Landing Bird Sanctuary owned by Maine Audobon and a short walk up the street to Pettingill Farm, an historic saltwater farm. Both of these places have several walking trails. The Mast Landing area refers literally to where they landed the pine trees in the colonial times in preparation for shipping them to England for ship masts. It is one of the four original settlements in Freeport. The house is also a 5 minute drive or short walk into downtown Freeport with all of it's shops, outlets and restaurants.
  • As others have mentioned, the location is great! So close to Bow Street Market and downtown Freeport. The house is very cozy and comfortable. We arrived in the midst of a significant snow storm, and the driveway was plowed and Mandana had kindly shoveled out the front steps for us. My kids enjoyed playing in the snow in the very private yard. As another reviewer noted, the water is well water, so I would recommend bringing your own water to drink. We had a great visit!

  • Stayed here while attending a 4 day workshop. The location was minutes away. Super easy to communicate with Mandana and appreciate her quick responses. Though the space is dated, it suited us. We cooked meals in the evening and played games around the dining room table. The wooded yard added a nice space for our dog.

  • Totally recommend staying here!

This room, Haviland, is set in a quaint but large cape home, within walking distance from the downtown shopping district where you'll find retail, a movie theater and lots of wonderful restaurants. There is a shared living room, dining room and study/library if you'd like to relax with a book or play a game with your companion(s).
Centrally located, Freeport is only 1/2 hour from Portland, 2 hours from Boston, and 1 hour and 15 minutes from Camden. West of Freeport is also beautiful, if you want to explore lakes and mountains.
My home is in the Design Review District, which means I am surrounded by some very old homes. You can walk to town, or just wander the neighborhood, looking at the architecture of these large homes, once owned by Sea Captains. I'll be happy to share the history of my home.
  • Jacqueline's place is as advertised. Very clean, and walking distance to LL Bean, the Amtrak station and all of downtown Freeport. Very convienent and well organized for a short or long stay.

    Ryan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time staying there. It was 10 mins walking and 2 mins driving distance to Llbean and everything around there. Sparkling clean and comfy room She told me to visit Tuscan Brick Oven there and it was one of the tastiest food I’ve ever tried. Thank you:)

  • This is a gem of a find! Jacqueline and Paul were fantastic hosts. They thought of every little detail that made us feel like we were at home, even if just stayed for the weekend. Check-in was easy, everything was sparkling clean, and the living spaces are very cozy. We enjoyed sampling Jacqueline’s very own tea selection and enjoying good conversation in the dining room. The location couldn’t be better, it was a quick ~ 7 minute walk to the start of downtown, and there are street lights and sidewalks the whole way. We love Freeport, and being there for the Sparkle Celebration made the town even more magical and special to us. This is a fantastic home to stay in and we cannot wait to come back! Thank you Jacqueline and Paul!

    Jacqueline2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jacqueline was a great Host. I enjoyed our conversations over tea in the mornings. Jacqueline mixes her own teas, which are classy and delicious-I especially like the smoky Scottish breakfast tea!

    Marguerite2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, clean home. Cozy and comfortable with pretty breakfast room and yummy tea selection. Jacqueline is a charming hostess and welcomed us with open arms. Her home is very close to all of the downtown shops and restaurants. Great location and a perfect setting. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you Jacqueline.

Private entrance 2 bedroom, 1 bath available 0.5 miles from downtown Freeport, Maine! Conveniently located right off interstate 295 and close to L.L. bean, all Freeport shops & only a 15 minute drive to Portland. Includes private deck & patio that is adjoined with owners large 2 acre backyard.
  • Lindsay's place was clean, conveniently located, and comfortable for our family of two adults and three children during a recent week-long stay. She provided all sorts of thoughtful touches (e.g., a box of candy and bottle of wine, numerous magazines throughout the apartment, a basket of unopened toiletries), and she and her husband went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. When the hot water went out on Christmas Day, Lindsay's husband rushed back from their holiday festivities to fix it, and when it snowed heavily on the day of our departure, he shoveled out a spot right next to the door for us to back into to load our car. As indicated in the listing, there is no dishwasher or washer/dryer, but the price reflects that fact and the apartment is an excellent value. We have stayed in many rentals in the Freeport area over many years, and while you can certainly find fancier digs, you'll pay a whole lot more for them. Lindsay's place is an easy, clean, welcoming home base for exploring the area.

    Kim2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place to stay while doing some Christmas shopping at the Freeport outlets! Would highly recommend. We will be back!

  • This is a perfectly centralized location just a few minutes from downtown Freeport, yet it's quiet and surrounded by tall pines with a spacious fenced back yard and nice porch. Parking for 2 vehicles gave us plenty of space to load and unload. The apartment is bright and open yet cozy, with a very functional kitchen. The hosts are super friendly and quick to respond to any questions via text or phone. The main house is attached to the apartment but it's completely sound proof so you feel like you're the only ones there. Truly a home away from home!

    Kathryn2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay in Freeport. Super convenient and so much more comfy than a hotel. We were surprised at how big the space was for our family of four. Would definitely stay again the next time we’re in town.

  • Location, hospitality, stylishness all exceeded my expectations but what really got me were Natalie & Jahn themselves. Stay here because you'll be amongst shy and thoughtful artists who fill the spacious cottage with the muted melodies of guitar and dreamy singing behind closed doors. Being around them (as fleeting as their appearance is out of respect for you) will make your heart happy and enrich your stay in one of the most beautiful areas of southern Maine.

    Leona2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Natalie and Jahn are both very accommodating and will do whatever is necessary to ensure you have a quality stay.

    Collyn2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Natalie, Jahn, and Dunkin were amazing hosts. We had never stayed in an air bnb where the hosts also lived, but this was a pleasant surprise. They were down to earth, fun, accommodating hosts. We spent our last night hanging out with them singing, playing the guitar, and talking on the deck. We will definitely stay again and also stay in touch with these amazing, talented people!

  • if you can, make sure to book this lovely space. it’s a really sweet and spacious place with so much sun and charm. i was able to travel everywhere without a car. it’s a quick uber/lyft to portland or just take the bus that stops three minutes from their place. they have a schedule. it’s super easy, cheap and brings you into the center of portland. my bed was so cozy and the shower was great. coffee and bagels and cereal in the morning, they even managed hot coffee when a storm knocked out power to the entire town. so thoughtful and warm, i felt at home and slept like a baby every night. if you can, book this for a maine stay and say hi to dunkin for me. :)

  • Jessica and Jeff's place was fantastic. Super close to downtown Freeport and to hiking in Wolfe's Neck State Park. It is a great clean space perfect for two people, and has a small kitchen and fridge if you don't feel like heading into town for dinner. They also were easy to communicate with, and even checked in about our departure plans in order to make sure the driveway was plowed in time after a snowstorm. And their pup is super cute and friendly! We would love to stay there again!

  • The studio is spacious, comfortable to the max, fully equipped and conveniently located just a short drive from the center of Freeport. It is walking distance to some nice trails in the woods. The host provided every possible comfort: it is an exceptionally well-designed and -maintained studio. We liked her recommendations for local hiking and restaurants. Muriel was warm and welcoming, and then left us to our devices. She always responded quickly and helpfully to our messages. She was gracious about providing us with perfume-free linens.

  • This space was just so special... being built from wood that was actually milled from the land it sits on was such a special nod to the type of attention I appreciate so much, and built by the owners! Muriel and her husband were so welcoming.. and the property’s location was perfect. Would move in. Haha

Private ground-level apartment. Near downtown Freeport but in the woods, with access to great swimming pond and trails, with winter ice hockey, ice skating, and XC skiing at the property. Separate BR has full daylight sliding glass doors - sleeper-sofa and air mattress are in main part of semi-finished but pleasant basement. Private bathroom and entry/exit. Can sleep up to 4 people.
Private lower-level apartment in modern unusual house (some call it a Treehouse). Pond is great for swimming - access to beach is a 3-minute walk down a path. Hiking trails start at the backyard. All of Freeport's amenities, including LL Bean's flagship store are about two miles away. Beautiful ocean views are just up the road and Freeport's picturesque harbor and local lobster shack (in season) are just a mile or two away.
Very quiet and pretty neighborhood, sparsely populated by homes, many with world-class ocean views, and full of good walking trails, all within a short distance of the best shopping in Maine.
  • Wayne was very sweet and welcoming the whole time, meeting us to show the space and offering advice about what to do and see around Portland and Freeport. Everything was very clean, especially the bathroom, which had great water pressure for the sink and shower. It’s beautiful in the morning to look at the sun on the snow right outside the large bedroom window. Overall an excellent stay!

    Harris2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cool place. Nice walking around the pond

    Brett2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wayne was a gracious host, very welcoming and generous. Upon arrival he greeted us, having just mowed the lawn and tidied up our entrance way. Immediately he began to tell us about the lay of the land and the surroundings, the trail to the pond and the other woodland trails leading to a beautiful overlook of the inlet and ocean islands around Freeport. We had arrived and checked in early (a nice feature provided) in order to do some Maine adventuring - so perfect on a warm fall day to have those recommendations. The apartment was very clean and pleasant, nicely arrayed with some Maine artifacts and cultural touches. Especially nice was the Maine Atlas and Gazetteer which was a perfect curiosity piece for those geographically minded such as ourselves. The bed was entirely comfortable, and the room could be both darkened and lightened accordingly. There were some other nice touches as well such as an old stereo with speakers, a room divider and some nice artwork on the walls. There is a refrigerator only, so do keep that in mind if you are used to having and expecting a kitchenette in your accommodations. Wayne very kindly brought us a hot water pot for morning coffee and did offer a microwave as well. Also, there is no television but that turned out to be a nice subtraction for us. We will hope to return. Wayne mentioned how the pond becomes a local ice-skating treasure in the winter. The charm of the very accessible Freeport village and surrounding Maine woods combine nicely here at Wayne's place.

    John2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wayne was a fantastic host! My girlfriend and I went to a concert in Portland and then stayed at his place. A large chunk of the area lost power this week due to a storm, but Wayne was a great communicator. It was unclear whether his power would return before our arrival, so he took the time to arrange backup accommodations for us just in case. Luckily, the power came back just in time and we were able to stay with Wayne. Loved the space, location, and blueberry scones!

    Alex2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nice Stay in an awesome location. Wayne took us walking around the neighborhood, showing us the beach view etc... The airbnb has everything you need. Awesome host and location :)

  • The partially finished basement was comfortable, dry, and warm. Wayne is a nice and interesting host if you have the chance to chat.

Small, newly renovated mobile home in a fantastic location. 5 minutes to downtown Freeport and Yarmouth. 15 minutes to Portland. 3 minutes off of 295. Very quiet country setting. House has an electric toilet from incinolet. It is extremely easy to use. Feel free to go to their website to learn more. Clean, simple kitchen makes cooking here a joy. Some amazing pieces collected from around the world add character to the space which is already colorful with oranges, reds and papaya.
Bright and airy with lots of plants and unique decorations. High-speed internet and a huge flat screen TV and ps3 with games. Netflix and amazon prime for streaming. Cute kitchen. You might not want to leave home!

  • Great place to stay. There is a lot to do around Freeport, like breweries and sight seeing. There is a nice river hike and you are close to seeing the Cape Elizabeth Light house. Dan had dog bowls out and a dog bed for our pup to use (thankfully because we forgot them) they place was clean, and instructions were very clear on how the house is run, like the electric toilet (which was very interesting!) overall this was a great place to stay! Thank you very much Dan!

    Meaghann2019-09-29T00:00:00Z

  • Had a great stay at The Mothership! Perfect for extended stay or just weekend travel. In a quiet area, and just a hop, skip and jump away to hop on the interstate. Was interesting to use the electric toilet as well.. once you get used to it, it’s a breeze! Would definitely recommend!

    Chelsea2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Mothership was a cozy and quaint getaway, just outside of Portland. We really enjoyed the fenced in back yard and quietness that this place afforded. Lots of nice touches inside that are great for unwinding from days in the city.

    Tharon2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at The Mothership was lovely. The space was clean, private, and very quiet. The electric toilet was easy to operate and didnt take very long to get used to. There were bowks and a bed ready for my pup as well. Main Street Freeport and Portland were a short drive away. Thank you for being a great host!

    Mimi2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at The Mothership was great. Dan was very responsive & made the process very easy. I'm still fascinated by the Electric Toilet, it was a lot easier to use than I expected. The location was also great, 15 minutes to downtown Portland and close to some great seafood spots (Day's Catch) and cafes (Mable's).

    Jeff2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The mothership is indeed a very special and beautiful place to stay. Dan was a great host, communication was easy any time. The mothership is well equipped and very comfortable. We hope to come back someday, definitely recommended!
