Minglewood is a wonderful combination of location, amenities, and gracious hosts.

My wife and I had an amazing stay at Minglewood. Thoughtful touches everywhere and we felt immediately at home! The fresh baked goodies, fruit and creamer you left made our mornings effortless. The provided coffee was wonderful as well. Even on the coldest weekend in Maine this season the multiple heating sources kept us cozy throughout our stay! I'm sorry we didn't have a chance to meet Jamie and Sally but we were eyeing that firepit under the snow outside and are already thinking about a return during the summer or fall to enjoy the outdoor amenities as well! Thanks again and best to you both, Jamie and Sally!

We absolutely loved Minglewood! I think the pictures don’t even do it justice. It was much bigger than we thought it would be, clearly newly renovated and super clean. It was cozy because of the way they’ve decorated (and the fire place, of course!) but the high ceiling and bright windows meant it didn’t feel stuffy and it was not overly rustic. It felt private and was off the beaten path but not deep in the woods. The bed was really comfortable and the projector set up was great. They left coffee and tea as well as a light breakfast - banana bread, orange juice and yogurt! The kitchen was bigger than I thought and they’ve outfitted it with everything you’d need (a microwave, hot plate, electric kettle, crockpot etc.) but just note that there isn’t a stove or oven so don’t plan on cooking an elaborate meal. It was perfect for a weekend getaway. It really exceeded our expectations and we’ll definitely be back!

Super nice place to stay in the Freeport area. Very neat and clean with great amenities. From homemade muffins to fresh flowers, Minglewood fits the bill. Nice wood stove, comfy queen bed too. Tucked in the woods a bit, just enough off the beaten path. Do not hesitate to book. You will be pleasantly surprised!

Minglewood is the sweetest, coziest little getaway. It’s private enough to make you feel like you’ve truly gotten away from it all, but still just a short drive to all the shopping and dining in Freeport. Jamie and Sally made it so welcoming for us with thoughtful little touches like fresh baked cranberry bread and candies on the pillows. It’s the perfect romantic weekend hideaway!

Had a fabulous time at Jamie & Sally’s. Location was close to local shopping yet far enough away to be private, quiet and relaxing. Minglewood has unique home decor and very clean. A definite return visit.

Minglewood is the perfect place for a couple getaway! A beautiful cabin with wood stove, comfortable living area and a lovely view. Only a 20 minute drive to Portland and 5 minutes to Freeport. We spent a whole morning just relaxing in front of the wood stove while it snowed! Jamie and Sally add wonderful special touches like fresh flowers, essentials for coffee and snacks and homemade baked goods (which are amazing!) We don't often visit any place twice but we will definitely be back!

Perfect place for you and your dog. We are repeat clients. Jenny and Al are great hosts. Despite the focus on dog visitors, the space is spotless. Very convenient to both Freeport and Portland.

Absolutely wonderful experience!!! My husband and I were so happy with our stay, and our dog Luca was equally happy. We chose to stay because of Jenny’s expertise with dogs and dog training. She was great with Luca!! Her facility is excellent and we recommend anyone who wants training for their pup, please go see her! Our room was in a great location, just couple miles from great restaurants and shops in Freeport. Our room was clean, and the location was beautiful. We highly recommend.

Jenny and Albert are wonderful hosts. I really enjoyed the gardens and the opportunity to let my dog roam the property and to train with Jenny. Jenny was a wonderful guide to local places and it really enriched our trip. I have to mention that the beds were so comfortable and the rooms and amenities were cozy and we felt totally at home.

This is a unique and incredible place. I didn’t have my dogs with me, but wish I did. For my purposes the location was ideal and the unit perfect. It had lots of room and a basic kitchen area with microwave and refrig. Being dog-centric, it is a very practical place... not luxe. The farm and dog training areas were beautiful, with trails running off into acres. I was carless, but Uber was available. Jen was an incredible and helpful hostess. Loved her enthusiasm.

This was such a fun stay with unique accommodations. We brought our 17 year old beagle and Jenny was so understanding and sweet with our situation. We could not have asked for a better place for our needs traveling as a family with a dog. Very convenient to Freeport (important - El Jefe and Frostys Donuts) and Portland. Everything was perfect! We joke that after seeing our pup on the farm, perhaps she wants to retire to Maine!! Thank you again to Jenny!

We loved the bus! Very cool and perfect place to crash for a night. It got below freezing overnight and the space heater and blankets kept the bus nice and warm. It's small but absolutely worth the value.

Though we only stayed for one night we had an amazing time under the stars at Kristen's place. Check-in and check-out was seamless, and the hosts were super communicative. Thanks!

There is something magical about staying on Kristen's microbus. My stay was super cozy and the solar powered heater was very useful during my Autumnal stay. Her hospitality is superior and the property itself is simple but beautiful. I highly recommend her place to anyone looking for a rustic, bohemian experience!

Great way to spend the night semi-outdoors. The bed was very comfy and although it was cold at night the space heater helps a lot. Nice way to spend a night during a week of leaf peeping!

It was a lovely experience to spend the night at the converted bus. It is very ingenious and unique. The farm where it is located is amazing and very close to Freemont. I would recommend it to anyone visiting this part of Maine.

The cottage is lovely. It is perfect for one or two and making simple meals. It feels secluded, but is very close to Freeport shopping, restaurants, and parks.

My fiance and I stayed at George's cottage while looking for a place to live in the Greater Portland area. Although we didn't get to spend much time there, it was the perfect place to come home to in the evenings after having busy days driving around Cumberland county looking at homes and apartments. We wish we could have had a full day to just hang out in the cottage, watch the tides, and explore Wolfe's Neck. If you are looking for a private, secluded, cottage to get away from it all, this is the place! It's also close enough to Portland to enjoy all of the amazing restaurants! Thank you George!

The location is superb, with beautiful views of the water. It’s close enough to Freeport and Portland but far enough away for privacy and peace and quiet. And close to the State Park for great walks in the woods and stops at sweet little beaches. The house is adorable with all anyone would need for a romantic get away. It was a perfect place in every way: comfortable, clean and convenient. Perfect for us!

Beautiful Cottage .. perfect for a couple .. we spent most of our time exploring the views around the area ... ate out at the local rest. Would definitely stay there again the views behind the cottage leading down to the water were beautiful too. We are from fla. so we came up to see the Snow !! 35f was the average temp ( not normal for this time of the year ) has a wonderful Weekend Thank You George !!❤️

This place was amazing. Great host, great location, great space, everything was perfect. The hot tub is nice in the cold weather and the loft bed is surprisingly comfortable. The washer and dryer were super convenient and we were provided with laundry detergent which was super nice. The kitchen has the full set up as well as all the usual utensils and cookware which was very nice as well. If you’re looking to stay in Maine definitely stay here. This place is a 10/10 🤙🏻

Adorable, quiet , & private! Loved the entire place! Hot tub was great , loft was super comfy. Take a 20 minute drive to harpswell and check out the “giant stairs” it’s a must see !!! The Maine state museum is also fairly close & worth the ride to Augusta! Ren was a perfect host 👍🏼 Enjoy!

This is wonderful spot. I loved the loft bed and the view of the birds and squirrels. Plenty of space to move about, relax and feel at home and still cozy. I traveled by train and could walk everywhere.

Ren’s place was immaculately clean. We asked to check in a little early and that was no problem. We loved the coziness and decor of the space. The hot tub was amazing too! All in all, it was just the right place for our weekend getaway! Definitely would go back and recommend to our friends!

This air bnb was fantastic. My boyfriend and I had everything that we needed during our stay. Additionally, Ren surprised us wine and chocolate for Valentine’s Day weekend. That was incredibly sweet and thoughtful of her. My only complaint is that we didn’t stay long enough. Can’t wait to come back next year!

Quite possibly one of the best Airbnb's we have ever stayed in! Sandy and Cam were unbelievable hosts - warm, accommodating, and very hospitable! Their home is lovely, with a beautiful homegrown garden in the back full of fresh veggies and herbs. Cam took us a on fun tour of the garden on our last morning of our stay, definitely a trip highlight! The private room is cozy and clean, with a large en suite bathroom. There is a great kitchenette just outside of the room, with a fridge and freezer to put food/drinks in. There is also a larger kitchen towards the entrance with a coffee machine for the guests! We would highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone planning to visit Freeport ME. Their home is centrally located and makes getting around Freeport easy. We already know we need to come back to Freeport and stay with Sandy and Cam again!

This was our first trip to Maine as well as using Air BnB; and it was an excellent experience. The location was in a quiet neighborhood; but not too far away from the main roads. The room and bathroom were very clean and met our needs. There was a list of local restaurants and places to explore. If we had any questions Sandra answered them promptly. We would definitely book with them again without question!

Sandra's place was in a great location to Portland and Freeport and many other towns. The home was spotless and the room was perfect as the bathroom was inside the bedroom....so no need for walking down the hall! There was a little sink and full size refrigerator just outside the room which was extremely convenient. Both Sandra and Cam made us feel welcomed throughout out stay. I would definitely book this AirBnB again!

I LOVE THIS HOUSE! Honestly... I rented this home while visiting the area for a wedding. I grew up not far from here, but we have all since moved away. My husband, mother, and sister all stayed here and there was plenty of room for all of us to stay comfortably without feeling like we were at each other's toes. The beds are SUPER comfortable and they have wonderful bath products and plush towels... clearly, these owners are all about the details... which I love because so am I. We cooked two big meals during our stay and the kitchen is extremely well-stocked and ready for your families culinary needs. Now onto the important stuff... the design! This house is better in person than it is in the photos if you can believe that. Tucked back in a wooded lot that backs up to a creek, we instantly fell in love with the cozy, modern farmhouse vibe. Trust me... you're going to want to live here! We made day trips to the Old Port in Portland twice as it is only like 20 minutes, so it is super convenient.

Randy was quick with his response and the house was very clean and as advertised. Tucked back in a fairly remote location on the river and tree lined. Great spot for a quiet retreat.

Randy's home is amazing. I stay there annually with a small group and we always have a great time. The space is as stylish as it is functional. The furniture is beautiful. The kitchen is awesome. We love sitting by the fireplace. The rooms are all comfortable and well-appointed. The setting couldn't be better — there always seems to be a fresh coat of snow outside and it's calming to look out the abundant windows and see the flurries coming down. Just an all-around wonderful spot. Look forward to staying there again next year.

Amazing stay. The house is simply gorgeous in the winter. We stayed with a group of people and more than enough room for everyone. Bedrooms were huge and master bathroom was simply immaculate. Location is Prime too. What a gem in Yarmouth. Would book again!!

Aleister and I enjoyed our week at the farmstead! Kristen and her family were a pleasure to get to know; they have a lovely property so full of life...from bees and butterflies in the gardens to ducks and a sweet pup who loves to play. I'm excited about all of the plans they have to build a community there! The greenhouse with kitchen, seating area, and shower is a welcome treat - especially on cold evenings. The last night, we made a camp fire and chatted with new friends staying in the micro bus. The close proximity to Freeport and surrounding small towns is a bonus! There's even a 24 hour laundromat about 5 minutes away. Great food and shopping so close. Thanks for offering such a unique place for us to hang out! We'll be back someday! ✌

Exactly what we were looking for. The platform is upgraded to have a roof and three walls. It’s very clean and easy to find. Simple and easy.

Had a great stay at Kristen’s place! There’s a great shelter up on the platform, awesome composting toilet and semi-outdoor shower with hot water, and all on a gorgeous farm. Had no trouble finding the place, also did not find it a noisy spot. Would recommend to everyone and definitely stay here again!

This is our 2nd time staying at the Beekeepers cottage. It is certainly becoming a tradition! We really appreciate Kim and Andrea’s hospitality when we come to the cottage. It’s such a beautiful spot and they are such nice people. A great combination! We highly recommend.

This cottage is the prime destination for someone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world. Propped on the top of a hill above the ocean and nestled in the woods .. it just doesn’t get much better than that. Andrea and Kim were incredible hosts. Even when the power was out due to a storm, they made it seem as if nothing had even happened. They left a thoughtful breakfast, assisted us with kayaks, and gave us a lot of local options for activities. Kim even let us see the bees up close and personal! A great stay all around!

Andrea and Kim are natural hosts and their location provides for the idealic Maine experience. The kitchen is a delight for cooks and we ended up not eating out once. The kayaks are a wonderful addition for paddling around the very quiet bay they live on. Absolutely a must stay place if you are visiting the area.

Andrea and Kim are the definition of super hosts! So generous with their time, knowledge and hospitality. They gave us the warmest welcome and made us feel very at home. Their local recommendations for activities and food were incredibly valuable although we could have happily stayed in the cottage all day talking with them. The space itself was very stylish and had great amenities, we only stayed two nights but could have comfortably stayed for weeks - when we return it’ll be for longer! The location is great if, like us, you’re exploring the Maine coast and being able to kayak (after a reassuring safety briefing) right on your doorstep is just a dream.

What an amazing place! It was amazing to unplug and enjoy some fresh air away from the city. The cottage was very clean and the owners do an amazing job of making you feel special with added food touches. They run it how Airbnb’s should be run. Will definitely stay again next time we come to Maine.

The cottage was such a lovely place! Quick access to a cute little beach and Andrea made sure equip the kitchen so we were able to cook ourselves breakfast in the morning. My partner and I especially enjoyed swinging in the hammock and enjoying the stars in the evening. We were able to see the milky way!

This is a great place to stay if you want a slice of life in the picturesque village of South Freeport, Maine. It's a very private location, and convenient for taking walks down to the water and around the village. The Airbnb itself is comfortable, quiet, and well appointed.

Exceptionally clean space overlooking beautiful gardens. A great jumping off point to explore Freeport and Portland. Host was responsive and thoughtful in all communication. if this place has any drawback, it is that the bathroom is downstairs, which was not really an issue for us, but might be for someone with difficulty using stairs.

A stylish and comfortable place to stay! Especially loved the bed linens and coziness of the bedroom. And the gardens are exquisite! Perfect location for access to local restaurants and sights, as well as an easy drive to Portland.

Kens place was fabulous. The location was perfect, off the beaten path but not too remote. The beautiful harbor was a quick stroll away. Ken was a great host and offered many great suggestions for dining, activities etc. We’ve stayed in a lot of AirBnbs and Kens place was one of our favorites. It was super clean, well appointed and very comfortable. I highly recommend.

Our stay at Lime Twist was fantastic and exceeded expectations. We were in town visiting family and needed a place close by to stay. Keith’s place looked brand new inside, was very clean and had a lot of little touches to make our stay as nice as possible. Keith’s place was amazing. Almost everything in “Lime Twist” was tastefully bright green and wonderfully clean and new. Our daughter enjoyed the space and the family games in the closet. Each bedroom was well stocked with floorboard heating and fans and white noise generator. Family room had comfortable heat and air conditioning mini split unit. Bathroom was clean and well lit. Everything in new condition. Would love to stay again!

My girlfriend and I wanted a place to stay that is close to Downtown Freeport for one-night; we ran the LL Bean 5K the next day. Jennifer's place was a great match for our needs! It was spacious, clean, and hospitable! Despite being a 1 night stay, we got the most of it! I highly recommend booking the place during the fall as the trees in the backyard were colorful!

What a gem! This beautiful, spacious space with woodland views envelopes you in warmth and comfort. Sparkling clean and well designed area. Kitchen has all the pots and pans and tools you need to cook, king size bed was very comfortable and warm, convenient laundry made our week+ stay easy. You feel you’re out in the country but freeway is only minutes away as is Freeport, Brunswick, Yarmouth and Portland a little farther. Highly recommended.

Liza and Co. offer a great new renovated space. Extremely modern, very clean, and above and beyond. Their communication is well above standard. My wife wife and I enjoyed our stay very much here and is the space is very roomy and cozy. As far as we are concerned, we are considering this rental again in the near future. The hosts are very professional and accommodating. We highly recommend this rental for any getaway whether short or long term. AAA+++

We had another great stay at this peaceful house. This was our first time staying here this late in the year (November). The house was warm and cozy. The outdoors still beautiful! Amazing sunsets!

Staying at this property is like being on a ship at sea with incredible water views on both sides. The sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. LL Beans and Freeport village is about 7 miles away as is Bow St Market that has everything you need. This home was clean and well stocked and Philip the owner was welcoming and nearby. Lots of privacy here and quiet. Awesome stay, a 10!

The views from every window are beyond compare. If you want to experience what old Maine felt like before all the ocean front development this is the place to feel like you have the peninsula to yourself (although there are houses nearby you can’t see them).

This wonderful rental is surrounded by fabulous views of The Atlantic! The owners have added many thoughtful touches to this home. We were very sad when we had to leave.

I am a repeat guest - several times - at Mandana's charming apartment and hope to return many times in the future - so that about sums up my opinion! Outstanding is Mandana's kindness and welcome! Since I had to chose one outstanding feature, it is Mandana herself! But the apartment is so sweet and the perfect space for my dog and me when I come to Freeport on business. Best of all, the proximity to where I am working during my stay is perfect - about 1 mile! There is more than enough room for my purposes and I love the light and spaciousness. The bed is super comfortable and the ability to walk out the door and down the steps to several good walks for my dog is a bonus. It is also very very quiet. You can hear the swish of passing traffic in the distance, but the speed limit is low and the noise never bothers. The apartment itself is as quiet as you make it. In all, this is my go-to place for Freeport Maine!

This was a large, cozy, sparkling clean and convenient space. We travel often, and rarely feel so "at home". The kitchen is large, clean and bright, bathroom sparkles, the living room is great for relaxing after a busy day, and the bed was very comfortable. There is beautiful artwork and ample reading material as well as games. A good place to unplug, if you need to, but with the ability to stay connected. Will visit again!

Everything was very clean , the living space was well appointed. Although the location is on a slightly busy road , the living quarters are well insulated from traffic noise, therefore making it very quiet. It is appealingly close to downtown Freeport.

Even though we were only here for 2 days, the space was clean and comfortable with basic amenities provided. Mandana was provided quick responses to any questions. The location was very close to downtown Freeport and provided an easy commute to Portland. I would definitely recommend the place.

Emma and Bob's home is a warm, inviting colonial in a great location in Freeport - close to the downtown hub but very quiet and peaceful. The privacy of the separate bathroom and entrance was great, and the space is cozy with warm touches (variety of coffee, extra linens, etc.). Hosts are very communicative and flexible with arrangements. Be aware that the home has cats and dogs, who are quite friendly.

Emma is a great host. The house is located close to downtown Freeport and was very convenient for our visit. The Studio was clean, check-in was fast and informal, and we loved her very friendly cat.

When you book your room in this old sea captain’s home, you may think you’re just booking a bit of history - but you’re actually booking Emma. Emma is one of those people who just wants you to be comfortable and happy, and she will look after you, whether you see her or not! Our towels were changed in the bathroom without our involvement, the lights were left on outside on our first night in case we were late....Emma is just kind by nature! The accommodation is as described; not exactly rustic, but it is old style. We were very comfortable, and enjoyed having the lounge next to our room, but you just have to understand that it’s not modern. Others have commented about the animals, who are lovely, but if you’re not keen, Emma will keep them away from you. There are others in the house, but we didn’t see them. And the bathroom door is right next to your bedroom door so we had no issue with that. We didn’t ever see Emma or her husband when we were using the bathroom. This is not a hotel, but it has character and charm, and you will feel as though you are living in times gone by.

You can't go wrong here. Emma is a wonderful hostess ready for any of your needs. Bedroom and sitting room making your stay very pleasant with a private large bathroom full of fluffy towels and hot shower. Great location to walk to town, shop eat and walk off dinner on your way home. Delightful place.

This place is a great find if you want spacious and comfortable accommodations slightly away from the busy main street but still within walking distance to the shops and dining in Freeport. Emma will make you feel right at home and after relaxing here, you may not want to leave.

Great large space with very friendly host.

This home was a perfect place for a week of exploring the South and mid-coast regions of Maine. Unpretentious and comfortable. Emma and Bob were the perfect hosts for our stay. The two cats and the beyond cute little dog were an added bonus. If you don't like animals, don't come here. Yes, the bathroom is in the hallway right by the hosts bedroom, but their door is closed at night and they've got large bathrobes you can use if needed. This place has tons of character as it's from the 1800's. Would highly recommend Emma's place.

This is the second time that we stayed here. The location is great just a few minutes from Downtown Freeport but in a nice more rural neighborhood. The apartment had everything that we could have needed a very good value.

This apartment is quite comfortable and has a full kitchen. The location is easy to find and in a rural setting but not far from the highway.

We stayed with Mary for a month in winter and loved the place. it's a short 0.5 mile walk to downtown by way of the beautiful Androscoggin foot bridge and 0.75 miles to the Amtrak station. This makes her location perfect if you want to spend time at the wonderful restaurants in Brunswick and take the train into Freeport or Portland, all without driving. Mary's place is larger than the pictures suggest and it's very cozy and private. You effectively have a private entrance. The mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and kettle are sufficient for longer stays if you don't need a full kitchen. Mary is very kind and communicative. We have already booked another month with her and would highly recommend you give her place a try as well.

Mary was very friendly and easy to communicate with. We arrived a weekend of a snow storm and she made sure to check in on us to make sure our trip was going well and we were staying warm with the below average temperatures outside! Great location with plenty to do!

I very much enjoyed my time in Mary's sweet place. Luxurious bath, comfortable bed, and a convenient spot to enjoy Topsham, Brunswick and Portland. I loved walking across the footbridge to Brunswick (there's a yoga studio only a 10 minute walk away). Short drive to beautiful hikes through woods or on beaches. I'll be going back, for sure!

This space is clean, organized and stylish. The tub is spacious and pleasant amenities are provided to enjoy it in. Interesting books are provided to read with a sitting area. The mediation room is tranquil. The bed has great pillows and is cozy, the room stayed warm the entire night even with the snowfall outside. Highly recommend this blissful getaway retreat.

Jimmy's place is in the PERFECT spot to walk EVERYWHERE! We absolutely loved the convenience of the location of the apartment to Freeport Yoga Company as well as all of the shops and restaurants in downtown Freeport. We came for a long weekend to get out of the city and we were very happy with the peaceful and beautiful setting of the cottage. It's a great location to quickly get to state parks to go walking/hiking, close to shopping, and close to Portland to spend time there as well. The cottage has a big picture window that frames the water view beautifully, even in rainy weather. The bed and sheets were very comfortable and whole space was clean and cozy for two people. I'd love to go back and see it in a different season, but late fall was still a great choice!

This is a lovely spot, very quiet, with beautiful views across a harbour filled with sail boats and lobster boats chugging in and out. Nice walks with old colonial houses and a lobster place just at the end of the road. The cabin is very comfortable with everything you would need. Bring your bike.

Stephanie's little cottage was everything I could've asked for. Right by the water, private dock, gorgeous sunsets. Stephanie was thoughtful and always just a message away if we needed her.

My husband and I loved the cottage. Very relaxing. Stephanie was a great host and had breakfast Fixings waiting for us. It was also awesome that they had cable tv. We live in Florida and we’re keeping an eye on hurricane Dorian. The view is amazing. The cottage has a lot of added touches. We will be back!!

Stayed up at Stephen’s place for a few nights and it was awesome. It was such a cute house and had everything available we needed for our stay. We did have a little trouble figuring out the heating system, but we figured it out. The house was also just about five minutes from downtown Freeport. I’d highly recommend staying here!

Stevens place is community located to downtown Freeport. Although it is close to the Hustle and bustle of the city, is actually quite secluded.

As others have mentioned, the location is great! So close to Bow Street Market and downtown Freeport. The house is very cozy and comfortable. We arrived in the midst of a significant snow storm, and the driveway was plowed and Mandana had kindly shoveled out the front steps for us. My kids enjoyed playing in the snow in the very private yard. As another reviewer noted, the water is well water, so I would recommend bringing your own water to drink. We had a great visit!

Enjoyed staying here. Very closeto walking trails and downtown. The place was clean and easy to find.

Stayed here while attending a 4 day workshop. The location was minutes away. Super easy to communicate with Mandana and appreciate her quick responses. Though the space is dated, it suited us. We cooked meals in the evening and played games around the dining room table. The wooded yard added a nice space for our dog.

This is a gem of a find! Jacqueline and Paul were fantastic hosts. They thought of every little detail that made us feel like we were at home, even if just stayed for the weekend. Check-in was easy, everything was sparkling clean, and the living spaces are very cozy. We enjoyed sampling Jacqueline’s very own tea selection and enjoying good conversation in the dining room. The location couldn’t be better, it was a quick ~ 7 minute walk to the start of downtown, and there are street lights and sidewalks the whole way. We love Freeport, and being there for the Sparkle Celebration made the town even more magical and special to us. This is a fantastic home to stay in and we cannot wait to come back! Lindsay's place was clean, conveniently located, and comfortable for our family of two adults and three children during a recent week-long stay. She provided all sorts of thoughtful touches (e.g., a box of candy and bottle of wine, numerous magazines throughout the apartment, a basket of unopened toiletries), and she and her husband went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. When the hot water went out on Christmas Day, Lindsay's husband rushed back from their holiday festivities to fix it, and when it snowed heavily on the day of our departure, he shoveled out a spot right next to the door for us to back into to load our car. As indicated in the listing, there is no dishwasher or washer/dryer, but the price reflects that fact and the apartment is an excellent value. We have stayed in many rentals in the Freeport area over many years, and while you can certainly find fancier digs, you'll pay a whole lot more for them. Lindsay's place is an easy, clean, welcoming home base for exploring the area.

This is a perfectly centralized location just a few minutes from downtown Freeport, yet it's quiet and surrounded by tall pines with a spacious fenced back yard and nice porch. Parking for 2 vehicles gave us plenty of space to load and unload. The apartment is bright and open yet cozy, with a very functional kitchen. The hosts are super friendly and quick to respond to any questions via text or phone. The main house is attached to the apartment but it's completely sound proof so you feel like you're the only ones there. Truly a home away from home!

Being around them (as fleeting as their appearance is out of respect for you) will make your heart happy and enrich your stay in one of the most beautiful areas of southern Maine.

if you can, make sure to book this lovely space. it’s a really sweet and spacious place with so much sun and charm. i was able to travel everywhere without a car. it’s a quick uber/lyft to portland or just take the bus that stops three minutes from their place. they have a schedule. it’s super easy, cheap and brings you into the center of portland. my bed was so cozy and the shower was great. coffee and bagels and cereal in the morning, they even managed hot coffee when a storm knocked out power to the entire town. so thoughtful and warm, i felt at home and slept like a baby every night. if you can, book this for a maine stay and say hi to dunkin for me. :)

Jessica and Jeff's place was fantastic. Super close to downtown Freeport and to hiking in Wolfe's Neck State Park. It is a great clean space perfect for two people, and has a small kitchen and fridge if you don't feel like heading into town for dinner. They also were easy to communicate with, and even checked in about our departure plans in order to make sure the driveway was plowed in time after a snowstorm. And their pup is super cute and friendly! We would love to stay there again!

We booked Jessica’s place last minute for New Year’s Eve with our pup and the space was perfect for us. We made dinner both nights, explored the area, and enjoyed the large king bed. It was a wonderful getaway from city life!

The studio is spacious, comfortable to the max, fully equipped and conveniently located just a short drive from the center of Freeport. It is walking distance to some nice trails in the woods. The host provided every possible comfort: it is an exceptionally well-designed and -maintained studio. We liked her recommendations for local hiking and restaurants. Muriel was warm and welcoming, and then left us to our devices. She always responded quickly and helpfully to our messages. She was gracious about providing us with perfume-free linens.

This is a fabulous studio in a great location, minutes from Freeport shops and less than half an hour from the heart of Portland.

Wayne was very sweet and welcoming the whole time, meeting us to show the space and offering advice about what to do and see around Portland and Freeport. Everything was very clean, especially the bathroom, which had great water pressure for the sink and shower. It’s beautiful in the morning to look at the sun on the snow right outside the large bedroom window. Overall an excellent stay!

Wayne was a gracious host, very welcoming and generous. Upon arrival he greeted us, having just mowed the lawn and tidied up our entrance way. Immediately he began to tell us about the lay of the land and the surroundings, the trail to the pond and the other woodland trails leading to a beautiful overlook of the inlet and ocean islands around Freeport. We had arrived and checked in early (a nice feature provided) in order to do some Maine adventuring - so perfect on a warm fall day to have those recommendations. The apartment was very clean and pleasant, nicely arrayed with some Maine artifacts and cultural touches. Especially nice was the Maine Atlas and Gazetteer which was a perfect curiosity piece for those geographically minded such as ourselves. The bed was entirely comfortable, and the room could be both darkened and lightened accordingly. There were some other nice touches as well such as an old stereo with speakers, a room divider and some nice artwork on the walls. There is a refrigerator only, so do keep that in mind if you are used to having and expecting a kitchenette in your accommodations. Wayne very kindly brought us a hot water pot for morning coffee and did offer a microwave as well. Also, there is no television but that turned out to be a nice subtraction for us. We will hope to return. Wayne mentioned how the pond becomes a local ice-skating treasure in the winter. The charm of the very accessible Freeport village and surrounding Maine woods combine nicely here at Wayne's place.

Wayne was a fantastic host! My girlfriend and I went to a concert in Portland and then stayed at his place. A large chunk of the area lost power this week due to a storm, but Wayne was a great communicator. It was unclear whether his power would return before our arrival, so he took the time to arrange backup accommodations for us just in case. Luckily, the power came back just in time and we were able to stay with Wayne. Loved the space, location, and blueberry scones!

Great place to stay. There is a lot to do around Freeport, like breweries and sight seeing. There is a nice river hike and you are close to seeing the Cape Elizabeth Light house. Dan had dog bowls out and a dog bed for our pup to use (thankfully because we forgot them) they place was clean, and instructions were very clear on how the house is run, like the electric toilet (which was very interesting!) overall this was a great place to stay! This was a great space and central location, while my daughter visited Bates and we checked out the coast & breweries. Enjoyed the eclectic decor and the fire pit was a bonus! Great value too!

Had a great stay at The Mothership! Perfect for extended stay or just weekend travel. In a quiet area, and just a hop, skip and jump away to hop on the interstate. Was interesting to use the electric toilet as well.. once you get used to it, it’s a breeze! Would definitely recommend!

The Mothership was a cozy and quaint getaway, just outside of Portland. We really enjoyed the fenced in back yard and quietness that this place afforded. Lots of nice touches inside that are great for unwinding from days in the city.

The location was also great, 15 minutes to downtown Portland and close to some great seafood spots (Day's Catch) and cafes (Mable's).
