Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Freeport

We had a great stay at Diane and Joe’s place—it was exactly as described and exceptionally clean. We decided to arrive a day early, and Diane was kind enough to accommodate us without hesitation. She was consistently responsive and pleasant throughout our stay. The Reno Barn itself is charming and comfortable. We especially enjoyed relaxing on the back deck, which has cozy seating and an umbrella for shade—a perfect spot to unwind. While the spiral staircase to the loft and second bedroom might be a bit tricky for some, it wasn’t an issue for us. The master bedroom on the lower level was very comfortable, and we appreciated the generous supply of sheets, towels, and blankets. While the location isn’t walkable, it offers easy access to both downtown Portland and the airport, each just a 15-minute drive away. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would absolutely recommend this place to others. We’d be happy to stay here again the next time we’re in the Portland area.

Our son, his girlfriend, my husband and I enjoyed staying at the cottage in late October 2024. The location was quite scenic as it overlooked Casco Bay, near Portland, ME. The host made suggestions that we followed (bringing firewood & blankets). The kitchen was equipped with utensils & coffeemakers. The neighborhood was quiet. We enjoyed walking in the local preserve along the water and took advantage of visiting the Portland Museum of Art and eating at The Honey Paw, an Asian fusion restaurant.

We came here for a private getaway on our honeymoon and it did not disappoint. The price was a bit much, but for such a special time I felt it was worth it at the time I booked, and worth it it certainly was. beautiful, quiet, serene, it was perfect for a getaway. I would absolutely recommend, and I already have, this stay. 10/10

It was a perfect place to stay for our weekend adventure. The place was very clean and tidy. It was obvious that a lot of work and thought was done to make it a really great home. I would definitely rent again when my travels take me back to the area.

This home was perfect for our stay in Maine. It had everything we could have needed short of groceries. Three nights were definitely not enough to fully experience it.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We unexpectedly had beautiful cloudless days most of the week. Great location & easy to get to the Harbor and Southport both of which we enjoyed! Recommend the Carriage House for a really top quality meal as well as Blue Moon Cafe (good lobster roll) which was one of Shirin’s recommendations. Would totally stay here again!!

What a beautiful and peaceful cottage to serve as our home base while on a family trip. We felt right at home, had everything we needed and plenty of room to spread out. Comfortable beds, awesome to have a washer and dryer, the parking spot could not have been more perfect! The deck was the most incredible part as we watched all forms of weather from the gorgeous spot. When we’re back in Maine next, we will return!

This is a great spot to stay while in Damariscotta - cute, peaceful and comfy, looks just like the photos. It's in a great location, right in town, and near multiple sights and activities, including 4 lighthouses in the mid-coast area - Pemaquid, Marshall Point, Owls Head, and Rockland Breakwater. You can grab the boat to Monhegan in Port Clyde or head up to the Farnsworth in Rockland and tons of other things - it's a fun area and this is a spot that can work nicely as a home base. I didn't see Valerie, but all of our interactions were very pleasant and she's very responsive.

Dan and Kalee were so hospitable, kind, and just wonderful hosts. They were responsive and communicative and their place was exceptional. It was in a fantastic location and extremely comfortable and well-appointed. We really loved the fireplace during cold and rainy days.

My stay here was fantastic! You truly cannot beat this location. It's perfectly situated with easy walking access to local shops, restaurants, and scenic spots. Parking is right outside, so exploring other nearby towns is a breeze, too. The place was clean, cozy, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend!

My dog and I had a great time here and would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area. We found lots of dog-friendly hikes and nature reserves nearby within 15-30 minutes . Otherwise we enjoyed the peaceful yard and small brook on the property. Beautiful and thoughtful rental, with very friendly hosts.

Seth was a great host, super responsive and helpful. The place is easy to find, clean and in a great location walkable to anything you want in Portland. Would definitely stay again!

This was a great, comfortable space and convenient to everywhere we wanted to drive in Portland! Barry’s instructions were clear and easy to understand, which made finding the house and getting in easy. There were also little details that we valued, like leaving out bowls for our pup travel companion :)

We loved this charming apartment! The place had so much character and you can tell the host put a lot of work into this place. It was clean and quiet and we loved walking to Willard Beach every night to watch the sunset and the dogs run around and play. Overall, we had a great time here!

Great place to stay. My family and I stayed for a long weekend and really enjoyed. It was comfortable, clean and the kitchen had all the necessities for cooking a meal. Loved the hot tub!

My husband and I stayed here for our baby moon and it was perfect! The location couldn’t have been better and the airbnb was stocked with everything we needed. Nick was super responsive and made sure our stay was wonderful. We will absolutely be back!!!

Matt’s place was welcoming comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen. Matt was always responsive within a few minutes. Matt’s place was conveniently located to Portland with restaurants and shops. Spent A day at Cape Elizabeth, Peaks island and dinner in Naple….. previous visit was to Boothbay Botanical garden Really a great state to visit!!!
