Places to stay in Fonda
Our cottage is minutes from the interstate, but you'll swear that you've traveled miles out in "God's country." Surrounded by many Amish neighbors, we are centrally located to Cooperstown, Howe’s Caverns, the Southern Adirondacks, Saratoga, Albany, Utica, and the Mohawk Valley (all within an hour's drive or less.) Enjoy a quiet retreat far off the road with authentic Amish furniture and decor and modern conveniences (private garage, washer & dryer, dishwasher, AC/Heat, WiFi and streaming TV.)
The cabin was completed in February 2017, so everything is practically new. Our goal in setting up the cabin was to provide a quiet country retreat where people can relax in between their travels to local sights. The furniture and decor reflect the area--an Amish community, the Adirondacks, the Baseball Hall of Fame, and the beautiful night sky here at our home far from any city lights. There is a "figure 8" walking trail on the property and a back field with amazing sunsets.
Expect to see a horse and buggy (or 3...or 10) during your stay. There are at least four Amish communities nearby, all of which sell seasonal produce and other goods. We are just north of Canajoharie (a town with restaurants, a museum, a pub, a drive-in theater, antique stores, a coffee house, a bike path, and home to one of 3 or 4 remaining "dummy lights" in the U.S.) It is situated in the Mohawk Valley, which has many ties to Colonial American history. Thirty miles to our south is the world-renowned National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown. We are also near Howe’s Caverns. Ten miles to our north is the majesty of the Adirondack Mountains. Travel an hour northeast and you'll find the cultural and horseracing excitement of Saratoga. Spend a day galivanting or stay at the cottage and enjoy the peace of living in the country.

Year round indoor pool house that is 2000 square feet located in the lower adirondacks. There are several outdoor activities to do in the area...fishing, boating, kayaking, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross country skiing & restaurants. Check out my guidebook with things to do in and around the area including near by lakes and restaurants on the lakes. Spend the day exploring and then come back to relax in the warmth of your very own private pool, sit by a fire on the patio or start the grill.
THE POOL HOUSE IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS!!! PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ AND UPDATE YOURSELF ON THE COUPLE OF CHANGES WE HAVE MADE TO ENSURE EVERYONES SAFETY. ASK ME ABOUT THE MONTH MAY STAY SPECIAL!!! This is a great place to “work from home” Excellent WiFi. Work while the children are enjoying themselves in the pool. The entire pool house is yours and you have complete privacy. Plenty of restaurants are doing take out orders and delivery’s. Hello... If you just want to get away from it all and get some R&R this is the place. We are going above and beyond with disinfecting the pool house. We are using 2 cans of Lysol each cleaning on every single service including counter tops, appliances, furniture, chairs, beds, pillows, door knobs, light switches, etc. along with using 409. It has always been common practice to wash all linens, blankets and towels even if they were not used. We have kicked it up a notch and everything is getting washed twice in hot water. We are leaving all windows and doors open when guest leave and when we do not have guest. We made a decision almost 2 weeks ago (March 14th) to self isolate and quarantine ourselves. Also, keep in mind I may ask you to check in sometime between 4-6 if I have guest leaving on the same day as your arrival. But I will give you an exact time the pool house will be available when your reservation is confirmed. The reason is because we are not going into the pool house for 3 hours after guest leave to disinfect and clean. This is to protect everyone including you and your family. We are asking all guest to leave all the linens, towels, blankets, hand towels, bathroom rugs, etc on the pool house deck the morning of your departure. These new practices have been in place now for 2 weeks because of what is going on in the worlds today. It is for the safety of everyone around. If you are not comfortable performing the couple of new temporary departure procedures I put into place for the safety of everyone please do not make reservations at this time. Thank you. Please do not make reservations if you have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for the virus or had symptoms of the virus. I am also asking that all NYC residents and all boroughs to make reservations from May 1st on and not before. Please and Thank you. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to me. Please be safe and take all precautions to keep everyone safe. -Chantale :-) Come, enjoy, relax and create memories. You will love being in the heated pool during the fall looking outside through all the glass doors at the beautiful foliage. In the middle of winter watching the snow fall while you’re splashing around in a heated pool. At the end of the day cozy up with a cup of hot chocolate on the comfy sofa and watch your favorite TV show. In the summer time enjoy spending time on the wrap around deck sipping drinks, playing corn hole and having a BBQ and ending the day with making s’mores over an open fire. This property will not disappoint. You have everything you need for an awesome get away. We do live in the country and have well water. We do have a filtration system. But if we get a lot of rain the system can not always keep up. So you may sometimes have the smell of sulfur coming through the water. Unfortunately this is beyond my control. I would say 95% of the time you will not experience that. Please click on the photos of my place to scroll through so you can see the entire photo and not just part of them. The pool house is 2000sf with a 16’x32’ year round heated pool. Fully equipped with a full bath, 1 bedroom/loft which sleeps 4 guest. 2 additional guest may sleep on the sofa sectional. There is a day bed that pulls out and very comfortably sleeps 2 and the Futon which sleeps 2 in the loft. There is a fully kitchen has just about everything you would need for your stay. There is an air fryer, blender and Keurig coffee maker as well. I provide all the bathroom towels, pool towels, linens, blankets and pillows. You have access to the internet. We have Netflix, Hulu and CBS All Access. There is no cable TV. Also, in the pool house you can use the wireless speaker to connect to your favorite music app. The acoustics in the pool house are amazing. There is a concrete patio that wraps around 3 sides of the building and also another 25’x25’ patio with an outdoor fire pit. We provide wood free of charge. This building is new construction and the siding has not yet been put on. That will be done in 2020. I do live on the property and will make myself available for whatever you might need or any questions you have. We do have 2 dogs that live on the property. They are very friendly. We have a black lab and a German Sheppard. Guest are not allowed to bring any pets. When we have guests we will be outside with our pups so they do not disturb you. They are very loving friendly dogs and are well trained. If you are not a dog person this is not the place for you to stay because my pups will be out and about on the property with me when I am working. Please message me if you have any questions at all about the space. I have been staying at Airbnb’s for many years. IMy goal is to provide you with a great and memorable place to stay, excellent service and a place you will tell all of your friends about. After your stay but before you leave I would greatly appreciate any feedback. I want to know what you loved most about your stay and also where I might be able to make improvements for my future guest. I want you to be comfortable and happy during your stay. Even though I do not allow pets because I have 2 dogs we have a 2 nice boarding places 10-15 minutes from us. If you want your fur babies close to you while your enjoying some time away you definitely have that option. Muddy Paws in Gloversville and Harvey’s Pets in Johnstown. Don’t forget to checkout my GUIDEBOOK...for amazing stuff in and around the surrounding area. Saratoga Track season is just around the corner. Spend the day in the wonderful city of Saratoga and return to the refreshing pool and have a BBQ and sit by the fire at the end of the sipping on your favorite beverages. We do have taxi services that will take you into Saratoga and you can take an Uber or Lyft back. The average cost for the share ride runs around $40 or so. Depending on the time of day and what’s going on. If you are going to stay during track season season reach out to me. I will be offering a discount if your stay is 4 nights or more. Track season 2020 is from Thursday July 16 through Monday September 7. Some last notes to keep in mind and that is I will give you total privacy unless you have questions or concerns. My goal is to give you the best possible get away I can offer. My space is very unique unlike most other airbnb’s and it has a lot of offer. I am big on communication. So I most likely will check in at least once during your stay to see how everything is going. Regulating and maintaining an indoor heated pool requires a lot of attention to detail. That is why it is so important to follow the pool house guidelines which are outlined here on my page, displayed in the pool house and I go over them with you in detail when you arrive. I only take up about 15 minutes of your time. You will not be disappointed with your home away from home getaway!!! Thank you for looking at my space. If you have any questions please reach out to me. I look forward to giving you the best get away experience while you are here. P.S. TAKE A LOOK AT MY GUIDEBOOK :-)
There are several really good restaurants in the area all within 10-30 minute drive. The food market and Walmart is 10 minutes away.
  • Warm pool, great sound system and TV, clean, new - just perfect for a place to hide away and relax.

  • Chantale's place is AMAZING! We had a wonderful time in the middle of the winter with our children. They swam all day while it was 35 degrees outside - where can you find such fun while having the whole place to yourselves? The house has everything you need and Chantale is a great host who is always within reach. The pool is kept nice and super warm (in the winter) Chantale gave us awesome suggestions as to where to eat close by and there were lots of great choices. The location is the perfect combination of being tucked away and close to hiking paths and being close to restaurants and supermarket. Everything you ever wanted for a winter getaway with kids, just perfect. I can only imagine what it's like in the summer. Wonderful!

    Andrea2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This Pool House was so much fun. Chantale is an amazing host. Very accommodating. When we arrived she quickly showed us how to take care of the pool and what was needed when we were using the pool as far as the ventilation system. You don’t even realize you are sleeping in a pool house when the pool is covered. No smell of chlorine like you would at a hotel. The pool was nice and warm and it was bigger then I thought it would be. You have a full kitchen so making meals is simple plus plenty of places just minutes away if you want to eat out. We will definitely be back and we can’t wait!!! I don’t have one bad thing to say about this place or the host. Very fun weekend for sure!

    Larry2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here in this beautiful, rural location. Chantale is a warm, welcoming, and accommodating host.  The pool house has all the amenities to make you feel right at home. The woodwork is beautiful and must be seen in person as the photos don't do it justice. In addition to being able relax in the temperate, climate-controlled pool, this property is conveniently located in proximity to outdoor activities as well as fine dining. Every place we visited we were met with a warm welcome. We had a memorable stay and can't wait to return. Thank you so much for having us. It was the best Airbnb experience we have ever had!

    Jessika2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time with airbnb so didn’t know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised with the all around place, service hospitality and an amazing place to spend our little mini getaway. This pace looks 100% better in person (still looks amazing in pictures) and the host is just as amazing. We will definitely be returning customers there. Awesome awesome awesome !!!!

    Alexandra2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved spending time in the pool. Sometimes we just lounged in floaties watching a movie and other time were playing intense games of pool volleyball. It was awesome to get into the water even though it was freezing outside. Our host was very welcoming and attentive, but gave us privacy. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

    Rachel2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place. The land surrounding was private and it was so peaceful. The heated pool was a dream and the place was clean and welcoming. Chantale went above and beyond to make our valentines weekend getaway special, even got us wine and chocolate with a card. Will definitely be returning again. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Camp Garoga offers high quality accommodations year round for guests. Located in the foothills of the southern Adirondacks and bordering 400+ acres, Garoga(Bear or Moose Cabin) offers so much more of an experience than a hotel could ever offer!
Two cabins are available at Camp Garoga. So if our calendar shows no vacancy please inquire. If you are interested in the cabin with the jacuzzi, please let me know when inquiring. I do have other cabins as well, with jacuzzis. Think of Camp Garoga as a log cabin condo. Meticulous and affordable(priced just higher than hotels in town yet offering SO MUCH MORE!). We take great pride in owning one of the 3rd nicest cabin accommodations around. **FYI, we also hold the #1 and #2 positions :) The cabins are connected back to back to each other with Moose Cabin facing west and Bear Cabin facing east. In regards to amenities both cabins are completely separate from each other with their own driveways, private screen porch, fire-pit and gas grill. The likelihood of seeing the other guests is slim(unless you're both hiking the private 400 wooded acres with trails that start at your doorstep). Moose Cabin now offers a BRAND NEW 4 person jacuzzi! Please inquire about availability. There is an additional $35 jacuzzi fee for a 2-3 night stay and an $50 additional fee for 4-7 night stay. This fee is not secured through Airbnb and is due on arrival. We think that it's a wonderful addition to the cabin and are excited to have finally installed it. **NEW** Because of a high demand of guests looking for snowshoe rentals we have purchased some high-end SNOWSHOES that are now available for rental. Please inquire about availability($10/weekend per set. $20/wk per set). A liability/replacement waiver will need to be signed on arrival to cover lost or damaged snowshoes. Some guests have mentioned the quality of the water and have expressed concern(including 2 older guests who left a gas burner on for 2 DAYS STRAIGHT without a flame and blamed the odor on the tap water. I can't believe they made it out alive, yet never mentioned it until I informed them that housekeeping nearly "dropped dead" when she walked in to clean 2 hours after they left. Please know your carcinogens, people :/ ) Well water isn't like city water and does have a different taste, but the water is VERY safe to drink(as most people in the area use it) and is excellent for your skin and hair. If you prefer not to use the tap water for drinking, we do supply an unlimited supply of fresh drinking water(which is delicious) Pets are not allowed in any of our cabins. NO EXCEPTIONS. Character, warmth, and charm are the cornerstones behind the very idea of Camp Garoga. We wanted to create an inviting, cozy, and AFFORDABLE space for guests who wish to explore ALL of what the Adirondack's can provide. Whether you're looking to enjoy a long romantic weekend or a week long vacation for the your adventurous family, Camp Garoga offer so much more than a hotel ever could and it won't disappoint. Upon pulling in the driveway you will notice the care and attention to detail starting with the traditional rustic adirondack style twig work rails on the screened in porch. Reminiscent of the historic "great camps" from the onset of Adirondack lodging. The comfortable screened in porch offers privacy as well as a sitting area for reading and relaxing out doors and a picnic table for any meal of the day or playing one of the many board games provided. Most cabins in the area overlook the importance of the adirondack screen porch, offering you solace from the springtime bugs and nighttime insects that would otherwise be attracted to your evening reading light. We have added 2 porch ceiling fans for your added comfort. Once you enter through the double French doors, nothing will disappoint! From the light balsam fragrance and immaculate accommodations, to the handmade soap and the natural pine woodwork we have created a cabin masterpiece. And it HAS to be clean! Our cleaning staff is spot on with keeping the cabins looking brand new each and everytime. Our guests continuously feel that they're the first ever guests and feel instantly at home. The bedrooms and living room space are ULTRA inviting with their unique cabin decor, clean linens, and quaint reading spaces. With the fireplace being the heart of the cabin. Garoga borders over 400 wooded acres for your immediate outdoor needs right from your doorstep. Particularly enjoyable would be a morning walk along the trails with a cup of coffee or tea. Let the kids loose to enjoy the woodland or large grassy backyard with fire pit(some wood provided). The occasional bench along the trails offers a comfortable and quiet resting place for reading a good book or just taking in the private forest surroundings. Autumn and winter walks are particularly enjoyable! And when you've worked up a good chill, the cabin awaits your arrival for a warm fireside nap or conversation. Sit on the hearth with its bearskin rug for instant warmth. No detail is overlooked! Not only was Garoga built by the owners, but the rustic details inside are original as well. Specifically built for the cabins in a small wood shop on site(in the historic Adirondack great camp tradition), nearly every Adirondack inspired table, sign, and mirror was hand crafted by your host. A genuine love of the Adirondack style is pleasantly obvious throughout both the Bear and Moose cabins. Each cabin boasts 20 foot cathedral ceilings with natural pine woodwork, a loft, skylights, and antler chandeliers. Beautifully finished pine plank flooring hand engraved with bear paw prints or oak leaves throughout(depending on which cabin you're in) add unexpected charm. Comfortable bedding and cozy new furniture offers you a relaxing and enjoyable stay. If you enjoy coffee or tea, Garoga has that covered! We supply as much as you need. If special arrangements need to be made in regards to birthdays, anniversaries, or even marriage proposals(we've had our share), your host is ALWAYS there to help make it happen flawlessly. Don't be afraid to ask. Our reviews on other sites speak for themselves as guests return year after year, season after season to the special accommodations of Camp Garoga. Come be a part of our growing family of regulars at this one of a kind cabin experience. Where as I require guests meet with me upon your arrival, my preference is to leave you alone to enjoy the coziness of the cabin. Texting is the best way to accomplish that. Most guests text me periodically throughout the day for special attention, or many times just to say hello (go figure). I want to be reachable at all times of your stay but I don't want to be 'all up in your grill'. Unless it's your gas grill and the propane needs to be replenished. Because in that case, you want me up in your grill. The cabin is located in a rural area without much foot traffic. It is a very safe place to enjoy the outdoors. Although there are bears in the area, the odds of you running into one is very rare. In 13 years I've seen 3 and only one was by the cabin. Rt 29, 29A, 10, and 30 are the best roads to get you to where you want to go. Both 29's run east and west, while 10 and 30 run north to south. Some firewood is provided for your outdoor fire pit, but if you plan on excessive use(which is fine), there are local roadside places to purchase extra campfire wood. We charge a $100 premium for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. We require a 3 night minimum for any holiday weekend.
The cabin borders 400+ acres for your leisure enjoyment with marked trails and benches along the way. There isn't anything remotely touristy about this location which allows you to be free of interruption. Camp Garoga is a high quality cabin experience at hotel prices and is a great location for complete relaxation or a "home base" for day trips. There are plenty of hiking trails within a short driving distance.
  • Great time at that cabin to get away from it all. Clean and very homey. Would like to go back another time!

This is a one bedroom apartment on the second floor of my home. It includes a full kitchen, full bathroom, bedroom with king size bed and large closet and large living room. It is fully furnished and air conditioned. The windows are large providing lots of light and fresh air since they face both the east and west sides of the house. The apartment is in a Victorian house built in 1892 which I have been carefully restoring for several years. I live on the ground floor.
The house is in a residential neighborhood which is quiet at night. However, we are one block from Main Street which is a traditional old downtown with 19th century architecture. It is very walkable to a great food co-op with cafe and deli, and other downtown businesses.
  • We loved our stay at Vince's beautiful home so much. The 2nd floor apartment is very spacious, and gets lots of natural light. The breakfast foods Vince provided were delicious - all organic and many of them locally made. Vince was very easy to communicate with and an excellent host. Definitely recommend!

    Jessica2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • I stay at Vincent's whenever I can when I'm in the area (which is fairly frequently). He's interesting, friendly, knowledgeable, responsible and in general a superlative host. Can't recommend his house more highly.

    Thomas2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Vincent’s B&B. The old home is gracious and spacious! We had the whole third floor which was very quiet and clean. The self serve breakfast included great items and all the kitchen supplies, including a coffee grinder for fresh coffee. The parking was good, we enjoyed a walk around the neighbourhood which included the beautiful town library.

Recently renovated flat two blocks from downtown where you'll find the oldest courthouse in the country and the birthplace of Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Our home is just 30 miles from Saratoga Springs. It's also a short drive to the Adirondack Park with excellent hiking trails, and the Great Sacandaga Lake and Caroga and Canada Lakes for boating, fishing, and swimming. We welcome people from all backgrounds and nationalities. We love to meet new people, but also respect their privacy.
A cozy upstairs flat features one bedroom with a Queen-size bed and a walk-in closet. There is also a sleeper-sofa in the living room that sleeps one adult comfortably. While there is not a full kitchen available, we offer many amenities, including a coffee maker, mini-fridge, microwave, and toaster. We supply coffee and tea, cream and sugar, as well as a variety of baked goods. Also hot and cold cereals will be on hand. Milk and bottled water will be in the fridge. We are a short drive away from the Adirondack Park, with their excellent hiking trails, downhill and cross-country skiing, as well as many lakes, both large and small. Johnstown was founded by Sir William Johnson in 1763. He was the British Indian Affairs Superintendent for the Colony of New York and had strong relationships with the Mohawk and the other Iroquois Nations. His Baronial home still stands and is a State-owned historic site and museum. The site is approximately a five-minute drive from our home.
If you enjoy walking and looking Old Victorian architecture, a stroll down William Street, located a block away, is right up your alley.

  • Another perfect stay!

    Lisa2019-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • This flat was immaculate and very comfortable. The common area is small and cozy and I felt very comfortable there. The bedroom is quite spacious. The fridge had all the necessaries for coffee and light breakfast. Both a coffee maker and toaster are available for use. On the first night I was there I couldn't make the TV work, I contacted Bob and he came right up and took care of it. The following day I had a lovely visit with both Bob and Betsy. They are very pleasant and very gracious hosts, while at the same time not at all intrusive. I have already booked a follow up stay!

    Dianne2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Betsy's flat was immaculate! The personal touches were awesome. Was surprised to see milk and juice in the mini fridge, as well as condiments, tea, brown sugar, silverware, a large muffin and other items here and there. I have decided to always go for an AirBnB before trying to book a hotel because Betsy's place was so comfortable.

  • We were blessed to call this precious little apartment home for a month. My husband travels for work so we use Airbnb to make our lives easier. We got lucky that we found this place! The host is so sweet and was very accommodating to our suggestions and needs for this place. The apartment was so new a few things weren't available at first but as soon as we pointed out our needs she had them at our door within the next day. She found out we had two kids so without us even asking she sent an extra comfy cot for my son to have his own place to sleep on. They communicated quickly and were always professional. We would 100% stay here again if we needed to. 😊

This 3d floor flat is bright & airy with 3 bedrooms, bath with shower, full kitchen & laundry room - less than a 5 minute walk to our downtown with theater and a great food co-op. A 20 minute drive to Adirondack wilderness lakes & winter skiing.
The third floor was originally living space for household staff in this classic Queen Ann. It has very interesting roof lines reflected in the rooms, but is also very bright and spacious. Three bedrooms. One has a queen and the other two have twin beds, so it comfortably accommodates 4 guests. But we also have 2 air mattresses which allows it to sleep a total of 6.
It is a walkable neighborhood very close to downtown in our small city. Yet it is only a 15 to 20 minute drive to the pristine wilderness of the southern Adirondacks with its numerous lakes and mountain trails. Skiing, hiking and the best canoeing and kayaking in the country are available.
  • We had a great stay at Vincent's place. The house is a cool Victorian house, and the third floor has interesting architectural features, like a room inside of a turret. Vincent was a thoughtful host, and quick to respond to us. He left us some delicious items for breakfast, and was kind enough to provide some dairy-free options for a member of our group. I highly recommend his place!

    Rebecca2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Vince has a beautiful historic home and as a guest you get the entire spacious 3rd floor to stay. Climbing stairs is a must as he has built a lovely spiral staircase to reach this area! We had ample space for my family of 5. Vince offers a choice of teas, coffee and some delicious goodies from the local co-op a short walk from his house. We were lucky to be within walking distance to both the downtown area and my sister’s house over this Thanksgiving weekend. It has a lot of charm and beauty as well as privacy that outdoes any hotel stay!

    Catherine2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Vincent's house is beautiful! In a Victorian style, you will have all the top floor for you. In addition Vincent was very welcoming and warm with us. We had lunch together the next day in a Cooperative Market in the heart of Gloversville. I highly recommend the place.

  • Vincent's place is beautiful and spacious. It's the third floor with 3 rooms reached by spiral staircase. Comfy beds and sitting area. All the amenities were great. Especially the array of breakfast items he offered! We had a great stay!

    Rachel2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Vincent's 1890 Victorian home is clean, comfortable and unique. He is environmentally conscious (recycling and composting) and has a beautiful garden. He was an amazing host, providing great arrival appetizers and healthy breakfast items from a local food coop. He provided great tips on places to eat and things to do. We hope to be able to stay here again for more than 24 hrs.

  • The space is beautiful and very roomy. The bath towels were so nice - it's the little things :) I have never seen a kitchen better stocked with tools, etc. Felt like home....but cleaner - his place is spotless - you can tell he takes great pride in the house. The area had a lot to offer and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. William was a great host and I feel lucky to have stayed in his amazing house.

Located on a leafy residential street in the historic north Kingsboro area of Gloversville, NY, my 1830's house is minutes away from several lakes with year-round activities, including the Great Sacadanga and Caroga Lake, and less than an hour to Saratoga and Albany - a great place to stay during the Saratoga Racing season! Minutes from the scenic "forever wild" Adirondack Park, with gorgeous fall foliage, great hiking, hunting, fishing, winter sports including downhill & cross-country skiing.
Furnished with cottage antiques, original art, and an extensive library (I'm a poet and book artist), this cozy house is bright and airy. The first floor layout has a circular flow pattern with eat-in kitchen, dining room, living room and powder room. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a queen and a twin daybed with trundle in an attached alcove, and a full bath. The kitchen has a sitting area and a breakfast counter with Thonet bentwood barstools. There's a stainless side by side refrigerator with filtered ice, reverse-osmosis filtered water at the sink, a stainless dishwasher and a gas stove. Small appliances included a microwave, coffee maker, coffee grinder, blender, and hand mixer. The spacious dining room, decorated with a collection of floral paintings and two large gilded mirrors, seats 6 at an antique mahogany table. The living room has a Jotul gas fireplace, a down-filled sofa and chair and other comfortable seating. There's a glass-front bookcase and Roku tv that streams local network channels, the Roku Channel, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. There is wifi, a portable turntable with a selection of Lp's , and a bluetooth speaker for your devices. Upstairs, one bedroom has a queen bed with a white antique iron bed, a reading nook with pillows and a reading light, 2 dressers and shelves of poetry books. The other bedroom has a queen bed, a vintage library table desk with a printer, and an antique glass front bookcase with more poetry. Two curtained doorways and an interior window open on to an alcove with a twin daybed with a twin trundle below. With the trundle open, the daybed takes up the width of the alcove. The trundle is suitable for children, but is likely not a comfortable space for adults to share. All the beds in this room have memory foam mattresses. The carpeted alcove serves as a small exercise space equipment with yoga mats and dumbells. Mature plantings and magnificent maples enhance the experience of outdoor living on the large furnished porch and wrap-around deck with gas grill. There's a driveway for parking one car; parking on the street is easy, although overnight street parking is prohibited from November through March after 10 pm. If you need room for 2 cars in the driveway during the winter, please advise me in advance so I can arrange to have my car moved. Although this is a one-car driveway, a second car can be parked behind the first. The house is heated with forced air heat and a gas fireplace. Seasonally, there are air conditioners in the bedrooms, and dining room, as well as a ceiling fan in the kitchen and portable fans. Children are welcome although please note that there are glass-fronted bookcases and low windows in the bedrooms that could be a hazard for toddlers. I've rented my other homes, in Caroga Lake and the San Francisco Bay area, for a dozen years as vacation rentals to guests who've been consistently delighted with their unique charms and thoughtful touches. My California home has been featured in several interior design publications.
In the midst of gorgeous and historic countryside on the accessible southern edge of the Adirondack Park, Gloversville is a small residential city, whose early twentieth century downtown, built in the heyday of Gloversville's renown as the glove capital of the world, includes the excellent Mohawk Harvest food co-op featuring local farm products, a coffee house and Micropolis art gallery. The downtown area has antique, thrift and consignment shops , renowned fly-fishing and stained glass centers, the vintage Glove Theater performance space, a newly restored Carnegie library, a bakery, a music store, and a yoga studio. Nearby HWY 30A is a shopping corridor with local and chain stores and restaurants. We're minutes from the Great Sacandaga Lake and HWY 30, the famed "Adirondack Trail," which is the central corridor through the Adirondacks. The house is a few minutes walk to a 9 hole-golf course with a bar & restaurant, and a supermarket. Downtown Gloversville is a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk. It's a 3-5 minute drive to shopping, hospital (just down the street), restaurants, antiquing. Local artistic, cultural and historical destinations include the Fulton County Museum just around the corner, the Paul Nigra Center for the Arts, and the Karpeles Museum. Sister-city Johnstown, 10 minutes south, has the home of Sir William Johnston, the British colonial superintendent of Indian Affairs, and is the birthplace of 19th century women's rights leader and abolitionist Elizabeth Cady Stanton. 15 minutes west, Caroga Lake is home to the amazing Caroga Lake Music Festival, featuring intimate chamber music concerts by world class young musicians in July and August. Gloversville is in close range to hundreds of lakes, trout streams, mountain trails, Amish farm country, the Mohawk River Valley; the pleasures of antiquing, museums, restaurants and attractions like the Baseball Hall of Fame, Adirondack Museum, Great Escape/Splashwater Kingdom theme park, and Howe Caverns; world-class music and dance seasons at Saratoga, Lake George, and Cooperstown; the thoroughbred racing season at Saratoga Race Track. Winter sports include downhill skiing at Royal Mountain, cross-country skiing at Lapland Lake Resort, ice fishing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, ice skating. The FSG Rail Trail (bikes and pedestrians) is a block away. The Erie Canalway Trail is 20 minutes south along the Mohawk River. Caroga Lake is developing a mountain bike trail system, and hundreds of miles of hiking trails including favorites such as the climb to the Kane Mountain fire tower with aerial views of 5 lakes, Willie's Marsh with Boy-Scout built bridges over wetlands that are beaver and turtle habitat, and the Benson trailhead for the Northville-Lake Placid portion of the Appalachian Trail. It's 20 minutes to NY State Thruway Exits 27-29, 45-50 min. Saratoga and Albany, an hour or so more to Cooperstown and Lake George, 4 hours or less to New York City, Boston, Montreal and Buffalo.
  • We stayed for 2 nights, beautiful house & stay! Great homey atmosphere, highly recommended for a cozy stay in the Great Sacandaga Lake area!

  • We had a great time at Tina’s place! Amazing nature and peaceful environments. The house was clean and cozy, and travel tips were provided which definitely were of great help! It was absolutely an unforgettable trip. Thank you for hosting us!

    Nicole2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, just wow. Hard to put in to words how special and unique Tina's home is. But how about this, in one word: idyllic. And the creek flowing right outside the windows: magical. It is amazing in winter, including being cozy inside chilling out or sitting outside bundled up with a hot cocoa. I can only imagine how great it is in the summer, hanging out on the deck. And all the windows looking out on to the creek including from the second floor - again, magical. If you think the pictures are good, wait until you experience it yourself. I obviously highly recommend Tina's place.

    Josh2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Tina’s home is beautiful. We loved the area and the seclusion. There was plenty of outdoor activities. We really enjoyed the snow shoeing we did on the property. Exploring the Adirondacks was a blast. Spending the evenings in such a beautiful home was amazing.

  • This home is absolutely gorgeous. The home is very private and luxurious and the host were very responsive. The home was tastefully decorated and extremely cozy and warm. The stream roars through the property and is so relaxing to look at from every room. We will definitely come back.

    Natasha2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Tina's house is a very beautiful place, designed combining love to nature with high-end comfort. It's built according to Frank Lloyd Wright's organic architecture and provides its residents with astonishing nature views from each room. The rooms are very spacious. The furniture is all wood and leather, very comfortable too. The stained windows with art nouveau floral designs are amazing. The fireplace, the kitchen, the WiFi and HD TV - everything is high end and well functioning. The house has many books to enjoy. It sits on 20 acres of beautiful forest with a stream. We loved walking around in the snow and listening to the sound of the water. It's located not far away from Lapland Lake Ski Center that was our primary destination. The communication with the owner was easy and they replied very fast. They also have local contact in case help needed. They switched on the fireplace before our arrival so that we enjoyed the warmth of the house as we entered. Altogether - a lovely experience that we plan to repeat next year.

    Kate2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had a wonderful time in this gorgeous home ! The house was spotless and came with everything you need. It had snowed the day of our arrival, so breakfast the next morning overlooking the stream was amazing ! I can’t say enough about this place. Great host and very communicative. We will be back for sure !

Historic. This gracious house is on a street with moderate traffic, but the apartment is well-insulated, has interior shutters, and is very, very safe. Beautiful park across the street, too. A few blocks from a small hospital and the Great Sacandaga Lake.
  • This lovely private space has everything you could ask for- including a cozy kitchen space, very comfortable bed, a seating area, music room, and beautiful private bathroom and shower. Our host was gracious and helpful. It felt like being in a cozy cottage that is also decorated impeccably! And the area is picturesque and peaceful. I highly recommend!

Experience the dream! Gorgeous, 7000 sq ft PLUS finished basement, 41 person theater room, pool & tennis court on manicured 7.8 acres! Multiple fireplaces, studies, and living rooms. 7 large bedrooms with 2 master suites on the main floor. Vacation home, movie/production shoots, executive meetings/corporate retreats, etc. Amsterdam Golf Course around the corner was designed by famous golf architect Robert Trent Jones. Only 40 Min to Saratoga Springs. Close to beaches, shopping & ski hills.
  • ”The Mansion” was a perfect spot for our get together of family and friends. The house is absolutely huge so it can comfortably fit large groups. We were very happy with the space, particularly all of the amenities in the house. We were able to take advantage of the grounds and lighted tennis courts all weekend. The heated pool was great as well. The location is excellent if you’re there to spend time at the house/outdoors with family/friends and golf (1 mile from Amsterdam golf course). It’s also conveniently only about 5 minutes from the center of town (super Walmart, target, grocery stores, etc). It’s close enough that you can drive into Saratoga to spend the day there as well (about 35 minutes away). Finally, Rosa and the property managers Joe and Else couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating. Would highly recommend!

  • This was my first Airbnb booking. We were a big group and skeptical about places. I found this listing and was amazed by amenities. I decided to talked to owner and communication was great. Our stay was really awesome, we played lots of pool in basement, enjoyed sauna/Jacuzzi, watched movie in theater. Overall would love to stay again !!

So if our calendar shows no vacancy for this cabin, please inquire about Bear Cabin. Both cabins are identical. Think of Camp Garoga as a log cabin condo. Meticulous and affordable(priced just higher than hotels in town yet offering SO MUCH MORE!). The cabins are connected back to back to each other with Moose Cabin facing west and Bear Cabin facing east. In regards to amenities both cabins are completely separate from each other with their own driveways, private screen porch, fire-pit and gas grill. The likelihood of seeing the other guests is slim(unless you're both hiking the private 400 wooded acres with trails that start at your doorstep). There is an additional $35 jacuzzi fee for a 2-3 night stay and an $50 additional fee for 4-7 night stay. This fee is not secured through Airbnb and is due on arrival. **NEW** Because of a high demand of guests looking for snowshoe rentals we have purchased some high-end SNOWSHOES that are now available for rental. Please inquire about availability($10/day per set. $30/wk per set). We charge a $50 premium for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. We require a 3 night minimum for any holiday weekend. Guest access Cabin will be unlocked in preparation of your arrival. Moose Cabin is the left-side driveway, while Bear Cabin is the right-side driveway. Interaction with guests Texting is a great way for me to stay in contact with you. That way I am not interfering with your visit. It's important for me to meet you on your arrival. The neighborhood The cabin borders 400+ acres for your leisure enjoyment with marked trails and benches along the way. There isn't anything remotely touristy about this location which allows you to be free of interruption. Camp Garoga is a high quality cabin experience at hotel prices and is a great location for complete relaxation or a "home base" for day trips. There are plenty of hiking trails within a short driving distance. Getting around Most of your stores for shopping are located in historic Johnstown. There you will find groceries, restaurants, as well as a movie theater and a super WalMart. Other things to note For the months of July and August we require a 3 night minimum. Holidays require a $50 premium to be added(I will try to keep the calendar updated to reflect the price difference, but sometimes I do forget. I apologize in advance if this does occur.
  • This cabin is the perfect setting for a nature getaway. The trail in the woods behind the cabin is a perfect little hike. Coming back to the cabin with its thoughtful decoration and hot tub was a treat. We can’t wait to come back!!

  • This was our second time staying at one of Chris’s rentals and again he did not disappoint. We stayed at his Loons Echo rental last June and definitely influenced our decision to stay in another one of his properties. The house was extremely clean and furnished perfectly. I can’t say enough about this stay and will definitely be looking forward to coming back!

  • We had an amazing time at Moose Cabin. The place is super clean, cozy, and cute. The highlight is definitely the hot tub (which was very clean and roomy) and the fireplace. The only con we found (and this is not the owner's fault) was that the tap water smelled very very sulfury. It was very strong, especially when showering in it. However, this did not ruin our stay, and there is not much Chris can do about it. He made sure we had good drinking water in the fridge during the stay. Would highly recommend this place!

  • Jasna's place is located in a quiet and accessible neighborhood. Everything in the apartment is new. To us, Jasna's place is a home away from home. The host is extremely responsive and accessible. It's great value providing us a comfy place to come home to after a whole day of hiking and sightseeing activities.
