Google maps didn’t quite find it but I worked it out. You have to have faith and keep following the track! Hosts easy to deal with and discrete

  • The pictures don't do justice to how great Lara's place is. The space is great for a group, and all the rooms were excellent. Lara was very responsive and the information on arrival was very helpful. Would 100% stay again!

  • Great weekend away with some friends. Everything you need, lovely place complete with hot tub, comfortable beds and cosy wood burning stoves. Lara was very helpful allowing us to check in early and check out late. Thanks!

  • Lara was a superb host. Everything was straight forward and easy. Nice touches like a welcome basket and prepared fires in the stoves just made that special difference. Perfect getaway for family and/or friends in a great spot for exploring the cairngorms. Whatever the reason you’ll love the accommodation, warm friendly and welcoming! Can’t recommend enough :)

  • Outstanding stay! With 3 adults and 2 kids, we had more room than we could dream of - the house is even more spacious than the pictures convey. Beautiful decor, so comfortable, cozy and warm, and the hot tub is heaven. The nearby Landmark Adventure centre is amazing for kids (and adults!) Woke up to a red squirrel eating an apple right outside the window. Can’t wait to come back xxx

  • This wonderful house on the riverbank at the edge of the village has a very good layout for families, is very well equipped and has a cosy, comfortable atmosphere. We enjoyed the generous facilities with our family of 10. Renting this house is an exceptional opportunity. Bart

Situated just 5 miles from Tomintoul, the highest village in the Highlands and nestled into the wooded hillsides of The Braes of Glenlivet in the North East quadrant of the Cairngorms National Park. From pleasant walking right on your doorstep to fishing, cycling, skiing, canoeing, the whisky & castle trails and lots more to discover, there is something for everyone in the region. Whatever your passion you can rest assured that peace & tranquility await you here at the end of each exciting day.
COVID 19 (CORONA VIRUS) UPDATE: 23rd March 2020. Due to further restrictions imposed today, we will not be accepting bookings before 1st May 2020. If you wish to visit after that date please do book but be aware that if the situation remains the same or worsens, then your booking may have to be cancelled. Wendy & Mike offer respectful guests who share the airbnb ethos, exclusive use of our recently refurbished (October 2019) self catering chalet which sits within our cottage grounds and has its own pedestrian and vehicle access as well as off road parking. With fabulous views of the Brae and it's wooded hillsides, you can enjoy the peace of the countryside whilst being in easy reach of local amenities. Tomintoul (our nearest village) is just 8 minutes by car; there you will find pubs, a general store and post office and two restaurants. There are also two cafes, outdoor clothing & unusual gift shop and a gallery. The Whiskey Castle is a must see whether or not this is your tipple. Information on the area can be found both in the Crown Estates ranger centre & the Tomintoul Discovery Centre. Plenty of folk make this their base for up to a week as there is so much to see & do up here. Within a 90 minute drive lies the whole north east coast with it's myriad of beaches and interesting villages, the Black Isle and of course Loch Ness. If whisky is your thing then you are at the centre of tasting heaven; The Glenlivet is just 10 minutes away. Total privacy is assured. Whisky or Castles, Mountain tops or Lochs, it's all yours here at The Couples Retreat. I have been asked by previous guests to point out that there are animals around the area and that you might hear them at night. There are sheep & cows in the adjacent fields, we are also likely to have stoat, fox, vole, mice, rabbit, hare and deer in the grounds and quite close to the property. We also have owls that hoot at night (yes I'm laughing too).
Being situated on The Crowns' Glenlivet estate in The Cairngorms National Park has many benefits for the traveler, but the main reasons most people come here are the peace & quiet, stunning views and wildlife. If it is outdoor activities you crave then they are also here in abundance, visit the Glenlivet Estate or Cairngorms websites to find your passion.
  • Very clean. Located near nice village and beautiful scenery.

  • Lovely self-catering cottage with a big comfortable bed. Perfect for a couples retreat as the name suggests. Wendy greeted us when we arrived and gave us some visiting tips. Clean quiet place with a private entrance that is well lit at night. We got our food supplies at local town Tomnavoulin. Wendy 's place is well equip for self catering. Perfect location. It's a short drive to the Scalan heritage trail. We also did Carn Daimh forest trail which is about 10min drive away. Glenlivet distillery is also nearby. Definitely worth a tour if you are a whisky fan.

    Zia2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The chalet is situated in a very nice and quite place. Wendy and her husband are extremely friendly and will help you in any way possible. The chalet itself is very cosy and modern. You will feel at home at once. If you need any information regarding the area Wendy will help you out since she is very knowledgeable concerning the area.

Situated in the heart of Glenlivet with stunning views of the Packhorse Bridge (the bridge on the Glenlivet Whiskey logo) and the river Livet. Cosy Bridge Cottage is perfect for a quiet and peaceful retreat.
Bridge Cottage is a newly renovated crofters cottage in the beautiful Bridgend of Glenlivet. The ancient Packhorse Bridge can be seen from our garden and is stunning every season of the year. If you're into outdoor activities, castles, whiskey distilleries, clay shooting, scenic drives or just relaxing in a peaceful and cosy environment then Bridge Cottage is the place for you.
Glenlivet Distillery is a short drive or walk from the cottage. The bridge on the Glenlivet whiskey bottle logo is located behind the cottage. It’s beautiful and you can see the first bridge from the kitchen window.
  • Very warm and very welcoming cottage! A real haven of peace! I recommend 100%.

  • Lovely cottage. Very well equipped and cosy

    Miranda2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is a clean, comfortable and cozy place to relax. I only stayed for one night and wished it could have been longer! Everything was clean and the decoration is lovely. There were three of us so all had our own room, we found it spacious but still had a cozy cottage atmosphere. There are lots of dvds to choose from and a stack of tourist brochures. The internet connection was great. Although arriving in the dark and leaving promptly the next day, the view of the bridge from the kitchen/ garden was so pretty!

  • The place is cozy, quirky and beautiful too! Your back garden faces a stream with an ancient stone bridge, which gives a special and different touch to the place! I recommend!

  • Good hospitality and nice place along with nice view

    Abhishek2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • A sweet cozy cottage in a beautiful highland setting. We arrived at night, but the view out the kitchen window of the trees, river and pack horse bridge is stunning. It’s an older house, so it has its quirks, but none are bad (the door frames were slightly low for two of us staying there) each space was thoughtfully decorated and I especially loved the Christmas decorations they put up. Little reception, but there’s a huge range of DVDs to play on the TV and wifi. Wish we could have stayed for another night!

    Lauren2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a few days in January at the lovely cottage. The place was very lovely and cozy and the location was magical. Everything was very well-equipped and clean. Carrie and Rob even left us fresh eggs and water in the fridge which we appreciated very much. The communication was easy and quick and the instructions before check-in were very helpful, because there was relatively poor cell phone connection at this location. The WiFi in the cottage is really good so once in the Cottage, the cell phone connection is no issue. There was plenty of information and inspiration about what to do during the vacation even during the winter months. We were sad to leave this place and definitely want to come back. Can highly recommend!

This modern bothy, situated on the edge of ancient forests, would make an ideal retreat or base for adventures. As well as local walks and the riverside village of Nethy Bridge, it's only a short drive to the Cairngorms for skiing, hiking & biking.
The Bothy is recently redecorated and was only built about 10 years ago. It has its own decking outside and front door to enter. There is space to sit out on the decking and outdoor seating. Our house is on the same site and shares the large garden. Downstairs there is a large open plan living area with kitchen, dinning table and sitting area and washing machine. The kitchen is an Ikea style "kitchen in a cupboard" with electric rings, sink, fridge, and a combi oven/grill/microwave. Upstairs there is a king-size bed in a large double bedroom with ensuite bathroom (shower but no bath). There is a small double sofa bed that sleeps 1 adult or a child.
The Bothy is in a quiet area with mostly trees and fields surounding. The woods close to the Bothy are owned by the RSPB and there are some very accessible paths. There is also the River Nethy which runs through the village which joins the River Spey nearby. In the village, there are public tennis courts 5 minutes walk away with an honesty box. There are two hotels in Nethy where you can get a meal and a weekly fish and chip van on a Monday. There is a great new cafe. There is a small shop, a Farm Shop and Post Office. The nearest town is Grantown on Spey which has a range of small local shops or in the other direction Aviemore has a range of facilities. Also the nearby village of Boat of Garten has a restaurant and coffee shop. There is downhill skiing locally in the winter about 40 minutes drive at Cairngorm. You can also get to the Lecht for skiing in the other direction and it is also 40 minutes drive. About 30 minutes away, Loch Morlich is a base for watersports in the summer and also an access point for walks in the Cairngorms. There is some great mountain biking from the door including some local single track and various other locations and trails. There is also some road cycling on quiet roads locally and some accessible cycle tracks. There are many walks short and long including the Speyside way which runs through the village and plenty of Munros to go at in the Cairngorms. There are also various whisky distilleries to visit. For wildlife lovers, we regularly have red squirrels in the garden and various birds. Crested tits visit the garden in the winter and you might want to try to spot Capercaillie in the nearby woods. If you have any more queries about things to do in the local area please don't hesitate to ask.
  • Our 4th visit to The Bothy so that says it all! It's right beside the Dell Woods and walks are on your doorstep. Wake up to the sight of majestic Scots pines and silence! It's stylish accommodation in a great location. Nethy House offers good casual dining for breakfasts, lunches and snacks, the farm shop sells a good range of goods including fresh meat and vegetables and Andersons in Boat of Garten has more upmarket meals .Andy and Abigail are, in our opinion, perfect hosts as they leave you in peace but you know they are there should you need them.

  • This was our second visit to Yvonne’s beautiful cottage, and we couldn’t have been happier. Glenarder is the perfect spot to switch off and relax, explore the local whisky distilleries and nearby towns. The house is very well equipped and we really appreciated the basics (butter, bread, milk and eggs) on arrival. The views are breathtaking! We hope to visit again!!

    Charlotte2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Glenarder is a really cosy cottage in the middle of the countryside with stunning views and located closely to the Cairngorms. The property is really well equipped with lots of useful instructions and information about the area. We were 2 couples and a 2 year old and there was plenty of space. Would really recommend staying here and we especially loved visiting the lochs and mountains in the cairngorms. *Note: a lot of places were closed until late Feb/March which we were hoping to visit i.e. castles, steam railway etc. Worth checking before booking!!

    Steph2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this typical traditional stone cottage, set appropriately out in the vast hills with just one distant house visible, yet just minutes from Knockando. We had deliciously cold weather and wind (quoting Adam Nicolson, ridiculous weather) and loved it. The house is really comfortable. Also practical. Very warm, all mod cons. Soft carpet in the main bedroom, rugs in the lounge. Library full of books. Cook books in the kitchen. The best writing spot ever in the kitchen, in the window space, looking over the hills. Just wish we'd had more time there.

  • The cottage and its location are a delight. It is wonderfully situated to explore Speyside, while providing a quiet retreat. Highly recommended.

  • Glenarder Cottage is located at a unique spot surrounded by the impressive Scottish Speyside Highlands. It's carefully curated interior provides the perfect setting for memorable experiences. A fully equipped kitchen, a fireplace and the comfortable beds make it a very pleasant place to stay. Glenarder is a basecamp for nature lovers to enjoy the great outdoors of this beautiful part of Scotland.

  • The cottage and location is just perfect for a get-away, especially if you’re running away from a busy city life. Things to consider: 1- You have to have an SUV. 2- During winter, it gets really cold, even inside the cottage. 3- If it snows, transportation would be a bit difficult if your vehicle is not suitable for such conditions.

  • Yvonne’s place is absolutely beautiful, the cottage has everything you could ever need for a cosy few days! It will always be a lovely memory for me getting ready here on the morning of my wedding and all the lovely touches from Yvonne, hope to come back with family x

Wild Farm Cottage is situated on the beautiful Glenlivet Estate in the Cairngorms National Park. Only three miles north of Tomintoul, the location of the cottage is both exclusive and remote with a hot tub, sauna and plunge pool included.
Whether you want to watch local wildlife, be energetic around the local Glenlivet Mountain Bike Trails, fish in the nearby lochan or just relax in the hot tub and sauna, Wild Farm Cottage is the perfect location. There is plenty to see and do in the area. 'A wonderful haven' - Tony, Andrea, Izzy and Sophie, Oct 2015 'A perfect place to relax and unwind' - Lesley and Helen, Sept 2015 'One of the best views in the whole of Scotland' - Jon, Kirstie and Evie, August 2015 'A stunningly beautiful place and a great place to experience nature' - Greg and Paul, July 2015
The closest village is Tomintoul which is three miles away. It has a good pub but you may wish to do your grocery shopping in a bigger town (Aviemore or Grantown) before your arrival. The remote site of the cottage is great for wildlife, including roe deer, red deer, brown hares, pine marten, wild cat ( very shy ), rabbits, buzzards, osprey fishing in summer, kestrel, hen harrier, tawny owl, barn owl, short eared owl, raven, blue tits, coal tits, great tits, chaffinches and many more.
  • Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting.

    Fern2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing cottage with beautiful views. We stayed 10 nights for our honeymoon. The hot tub and sauna were very relaxing and we really enjoyed the games room too. Most of all we loved the wildlife around the cottage. So many deer and birds, we were entertained for hours. Tilly was very helpful and even came and refreshed the hot tub water for us during our stay. I also got the chance to read 2 of her books about reindeer which were very interesting. I'm sure we will be returning soon!

    Rebekah2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • It is a great place. In a remote valley. We had it for my husbands 30th birthday and it was perfect. A cozy house, great walking possibilities and lets not forget the very well maintained hot tub. Thanks a lot again!

    Helena&Lasse2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place looked amazing from the pictures but they still couldn't do justice to how beautiful and private the property was or the incredible experience of watching the deer graze right in front of us all evening. Tilly was incredibly gracious and we really enjoyed our "off the grid" yet comfortable experience.

    Chad2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage experience is somewhat difficult to accurately describe, because it is so beautiful & unique. The setting is bucolic, serene & one of a kind. The deer running past through the pastures in front & behind the cottage are breathtaking. Watching the stars at night while sitting in the hot tub is a sheer indulgence & unique experience. We loved our stay so much and hope to return again!

    Michelle2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic, peaceful weekend for our family. Beautiful views. Wonderful welcome from our host Tilly. Hot tub, sauna and plunge pool an added bonus!

    Abi2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at the cottage was an absolutely magical experience. We loved the view, the coziness of the space, the hot tub under the stars,... all of it. I would definitely stay here again

    Ian2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Tilly was our host for our short stay at Wild Farm. Communication with Tilly was excellent and she kindly met us at Tomintoul so we could follow her to the house. Upon arrival Tilly was very thorough, going through all the instructions in terms of the facilities and the power to the house which we had no issues with after she left us to it. The hot tub was a feature we particularly enjoyed, especially in the evenings. We wish we could have stayed longer to explore the area further as we had a wonderful relaxed time at the farm and would definitely return.

The living room is cosy and yet still spacious - perfect for our new year gathering with friends. The house is really clean and beautifully furnished and we particularly appreciated the well equipped kitchen. The setting is spectacular. • Amazing stay in an amazing house in an awe inspiring country. The main reason for our trip was to visit a relative who had recently had a baby. We stayed for 4 nights. It is ideally placed for trips out, we went up Cairngorm mountain and went to the beach at Loch Morlich, both less than an hour away. The house was immaculately clean the kitchen was well equipped, there was even a chest full of games to keep the kids amused. We would 100% return and already enquired about dates next year!

  • Good place to stay if you love being into nature. Really peaceful, Susan is a great host and very welcoming! The Den is clean and cosy, we enjoyed our stay. Emilie & Pierrick

    Emilie-Louise2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Den is a wonderful, cozy place with incredible views of lichen-covered trees right on its doorsteps. The host, Sue, is or has the most incredible cleaner, and made us feel so very welcome. There is a fully equipped kitchen for those wishing to make their own meals (we managed to cook a whole Christmas dinner!) and for those wishing to dine out, there is a comprehensive list of nearby spots compiled by Sue. A few things to note for those looking to book this place: it is, like most places in the Cairngorms, not exactly accessible without a car; the Den is an annex to the host's house and therefore the occasional dog bark can be heard through the shared wall; and the Den is perhaps on the smaller side (though it felt average for 2 city dwellers living in a 1 bedroom flat). Those things considered, it is lovely place to stay with so many incredible things to see and do within a quick drive. 12/10; would stay there again.

  • A wonderful stay, in a beautiful place with a lovely host. I highly recommend taking a trip to this lovely part of the world.

  • Had a great time in Susan's place. Its in a really relaxing location right in the woods. Perfect base for exploring the cairngorm and some great roadtrips

    Jason2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage in the middle of the forest. We completely fell in love with 'forest village' Nethy bridge. The cottage has all the utilities you might need, a lot of privacy, views on the woods and Susan is an absolutely fantastic host, making sure you get the most out of your trip by providing advice on whatever it is that you would like to do. Above combination made this stay the absolute best of our trip. Book this thing and stay a while :)

A cosy and contemporary cottage in the traditional highland town of Grantown-on-Spey. All of the town's cafes and shops are on your doorstep as well as the beautiful local countryside and River Spey which are just a few minutes walk away. This hidden gem is tucked down a quiet lane just behind the main street and offers a wonderful base to explore the Cairngorms and the Highlands.
The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with wood burning stove, oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. We don't have a washing machine but there is a launderette a short distance along the main street. The lounge has a Smart TV, comfortable sofas and a fireplace with candles (The lounge fireplace is not operational for real fires). There is a bathroom with mains pressure shower downstairs. Upstairs there are two rooms with built in wardrobes. One with a King size bed and one with twin beds. Outside there is ample space to park two cars and a shed to store bikes etc during your stay. A basket of wood for the stove and electricity/ heating is all included.
Grantown-on-Spey is a small town beside the River Spey. The area is famous for the lovely surroundings, whisky, salmon fishing and highland scenery. The town has a large Coop grocery store and quite a few small independent shops and cafes. There are some lovely walks right from the cottage and a great coffee shop two minutes walk down the road.
  • Wonderful little cottage in the heart of the town. Ideally placed to reach all the main Cairngorms sights and activities including the Reindeer hike and Highland Wildlife Park. The cottage itself was cosy, well equipped and a lovely little haven to return to after a day of activities. A really high standard of cleanliness and thoughtful touches to make guests feel really at home. Liz and Dave (hosts) were really communicative in the lead up to the booking, and whilst we didn’t need to contact them much during the stay, we knew they’d be on hand if we needed them.

  • Spotlessly clean, great location and a very well equipped kitchen - great spot, we'd love to come back ASAP!

    Janice2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cottage, excellent location for local amenities, walks and access to the Highlands.

    George2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • this is a lovely, cosy and comfortable cottage - spacious for a traditional mid-terrace. very clean and well equipped, with everything you could need (although it is worth pointing out that as there is no washing machine, you would have to use the laundrette along the street and it's quite pricey. we decided not to bother due to the cost and the fact we were only staying 5 nights, as it was doable). The beds were super comfy, the fire in the kitchen was a real bonus - we loved the kitchen! very homely, cosy and easy to use. the shower was excellent! very powerful and hot! we had a mini-blip with the hot water, but Liz was very quick to resolve the issue and it was fixed within a day - very efficient and hassle-free. the area is fantastic, with plenty to do even in winter with many facilities still closed. we travelled with our young child and found enough to occupy us, including beautiful scenic walks along the river Spey. we must recommend the dinosaurs at Landmark Forest Adventure Park, along with the other attractions that were open; the shop and cafe were very reasonably priced and the staff were excellent. and also the Grantown East Highland Heritage & Cultural Centre about 5 minutes by car - a lovely restaurant in a couple of restored train carriages, a shop/museum and a wonderful mini-train track for the wee one (and us!) when the weather allowed. we were lucky to grab a ride on the day we were leaving (cold weather/ice prevented us earlier on in our break). The staff there were outstanding! many thanks to Liz for being flexible with our check-out time; this was highly appreciated and more helpful than she knows. all-in-all, a wonderful holiday let and we cannot recommend it highly enough. oh, and the most beautiful sunsets over the Cairngorms National Park - a truly awe-inspiring part of the country. we will be back!

    Amanda2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable, cosy cottage ideally situated just off the High Street. Shops and cafes nearby. Great walks from the front door.

    Ann2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Liz and Dave place makes for a lovely retreat in a pretty town. The house is sparkling clean, nicely decorated and with really enjoyable features for a stay away such as the stove, board games... The cute cottage is spacious and has everything you might need. They provided a cot, high chair, baby spoons etc which was much appreciated to travel lighter. Communication was really easy and Liz recommended walks that were really beautiful as well as good places to eat. Would definitely return !

    Sarah Jack2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Bramble cottage is very cosy and we had everything that we needed for our short stay there. The location is perfect as it is just off the high street, but also not far from the beautiful woods and the Speyside Way.

    Joanne2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was the second time I had stayed at the cottage and it was just as good as before. We stayed for 3 nights over New Year and thoroughly enjoyed it. Communication from Liz and Dave was excellent. The cottage had lovely festive touches and it was clean, comfortable and well equipped as it was previously. We went to the square on the 31st for the street party and I would highly recommend it. It was so well organised and the band and fireworks were brilliant. Even better that we could walk back home in a few minutes as the cottage is so central but also very quiet. Lovely place, friendly people and perfect accommodation. Thanks again!

Anna was a great host replying to messages quickly and within 12 hours we had gone from no accommodation to enjoying this lovely place. Would love to stay again, we would like to wish Anna all the best with the future.

  • Betula really exceeded all of our expectations! It is beautifully decorated and sparkling clean. The photos don’t do it justice. The location is also perfect, in the beautiful Scottish countryside, with lovely walks on the doorstep. We really enjoyed exploring the natural environment and seeing the wildlife, we were even visited by a very friendly pheasant! Nairn is a short drive away, with it’s stunning sandy beach. Anna was very quick to communicate and came to welcome us on arrival. We were very comfortable in the cabin, the heating worked perfectly (underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom!) the shower had good pressure and the beds were comfy! I can’t recommend this place enough, it’s definitely one of the best Airbnb places I have stayed in. We have already discussed a return trip!

The fact that she popped out when she saw us arrive to show us about and had lit the fire ready (a welcome gesture since we arrived much later than planned) was next level hostess, and the place was spotless and well organised. All in all, a great find :)

As the name suggests, Little Dell is our perfect romantic retreat for two with woodburning stove and tall Victorian windows overlooking the back lawn.
The original pitch pine floor leads from the garden entrance past the bathroom and into the open plan living area with vintage style kitchen, cocktail cabinet and cosy lounge. Around the corner and into a sweet double room with views East beyond the bird table.
The Dell sits in three acres of mature grounds, dominated by the enormous back lawn and surrounded by 200-year-old towering trees. The Dell was originally built to house the head forester of Seafield Estate who kindly planted many of the different species towering head and shoulders above the house today. Beech and Copper Beech, Horse Chestnut, Oak and the fragrant Lime, which has been known to ‘calm ones nerves by simply walking beneath’ The Dell was also once home to William Forsyth, author of ‘In the Shadow of Cairngorm’ a good solid holiday read published in 1900 describing the people and legends of the area as they were at that time. In the 1960’s the Dell was bought by John and Elizabeth Fleming who saved the building then riddled with rot and carefully set about restoring and converting it into the business it is today. Son John took the helm on their retirement, followed by granddaughter Polly and husband Ross who look after the business now. Sitting just out with the village and in amongst the grazing fields the Dell presents a very peaceful spot. The former Seafield nursery and the expansive Abernethy Forest provide a network of wonderful winding footpaths, most of which are also great on a bike and even better with a dog. (Please note that during nesting season, early March – late July it’s best to keep your dog close by or on a lead) Nethy bridge village centre is a 20-minute walk from the Dell either by riverside walk, forest wander or scenic amble down the road taking in some of the beautiful architecture of old Nethy. The village, which has been a popular holiday favourite since the Victorian times remains unspoilt and is a quiet, friendly place. The River Nethy tumbles down through the village and is crossed by one of Telford’s great bridges. Alongside a very well stocked village store and post office, there is a fantastic butcher, ‘Mr Mustards’ offers wonderful local meats and a good selection of fresh vegetables. Come summer 2016 the butcher will have expanded to include a small cafe and deli and there is a second cafe to open in the village shortly. The Mountview Hotel serves great evening meals and there is a public bar within the Nethy Bridge Hotel. Activity wise, there is a tennis court, bowling green, a beautiful 9 hole golf course and a small swimming pool at the Abernethy Outdoor Centre. Explore Abernethy have marked out 45km of trails around the village and have a great visitor centre and ranger service in the village hall. Nethy Bridge is great base for exploring the Cairngorm National Park and beyond.
  • The Little Dell is a wonderful, cosy place to call home in a beautiful part of the world. We were traveling with our 8 month old daughter and found the space was perfect to relax and enjoy the gorgeous scenery of Nethy Bridge. Polly and her team made us feel really welcome and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We especially loved the fireplace and super comfortable bed. If we ever return to the Cairngorms we would definitely stay here again.

    Alice2018-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • The Little Dell is a picturesque getaway. We absolutely loved our time here and Ross, Polly, and Wendy could not have been more accommodating. Wendy even met us upon arrival with freshly baked brownies! There is so much to see and do in the area (distillery tours, ski mountain, hikes, activities at Rothiemurchus) and Ross + Polly have a great little welcome book with ideas. The wood stove was a definite highlight and helped to warm the little space up. The property is stunning and the kitchen has everything you need. We will be back!!!

    Hayden2018-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Little Dell is set in the most incredible part of Scotland, close to so many Cairngorms attractions yet also super cozy to chill and get away from it all. It's THE cottage of all cottages. Our only regret is that we didn't stay for longer.

Cosy self-catering accommodation sleeps two. Situated between Aviemore and Grantown on Spey in the Cairngorms National Park close to the River Spey and surrounded by woods and farmland. Boat of Garten village is within a mile. Refurbished in 2018 to a high standard, Sycamore Cottage provides cosy accommodation for single people or couples looking for a relaxed break in idyllic surroundings, or for those who want to take advantage of the many opportunities for outdoor recreation. The cottage is in a secluded location with wonderful views overlooking the River Spey and Strathspey Steam Railway track with the Cairngorm mountains in the background. Well behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement.
  • We spent a fantastic couple of days in Sycamore Cottage. Martin met us on arrival and gave us some pointers for the local area which was gratefully received. The cottage itself is perfectly orientated facing the river and countryside to create a private, fenced off area. The location is ideally placed for Aviemore and the Cairngorms and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

    Bailey2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cutest little cottage and perfect little getaway. Really nice to come back to a warm and cosy place after exploring the lochs and mountains in the snow. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting explore the Cairngorms.

  • We spent a great couple of nights with Briony. Immaculate place, and a very comfy bed!

    Tim2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Briony offers a brilliant location and excellent directions. Thank you again. :-)

    Stuart2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Home from home :) if you're a couple wanting to take in the sites of Aviemore whilst still keeping your home comforts then look no further! There was clear communication from Briony and Martin from the word go, even before we had booked the cottage. The cottage is down at the bottom of their garden, but don't let that put you off. They had fenced an area for our own private garden, bird feed and decking, plus the views overlook the river, not their house, so you feel like your in your own private location. Martin was there to greet us to ensure we were settled in and was to hand if we had any problems (which we didnt). The house was super clean and comfortable, but it was the small added extras that made it... - dog treats, bowls and towels (dog towels came in handy as we had so much rain ours were drenched!) - OS maps so we could plan our walks -fresh eggsfrom their chickens - wood for the fire (although the house was so warm we didnt need it) - a fully stock kitchen, we cooked ever night and wasn't short of any utensils. Was more than happy with the cottage and couldn't recommend enough. Thank you for a cosy cottage after our long days out.

    Kerry2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We have had a perfect stay at Sycamore Cottage. Briony met us on arrival and welcomed us with freshly made bread and eggs from her chickens. Waking up the following morning to a dusting of snow and amazing views was just wonderful. There's a lovely spot for dogs just out the back of the garden and the cottage is super cosy and warm. Lovely touches like dressing gowns, dog blankets and lots of logs for the log burner. Great location for driving to local amenities and loads of amazing walks nearby. We hope to come back in the summer.

    Eleanor2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed at the cottage as part of a weekend getaway in the Highlands. Briony's communication was great and the check in smooth despite us getting in a bit late. The cottage is cosy, modern and Briony has ensured that it is absolutely neat (even the cooking utensils are lined up neatly). We appreciated the eggs left for breakfast and the wood burning stove for cosy nights in front of the fire. I highly recommend Briony's place for a peaceful retreat near the Cairngorms.

  • The Bothy is a fantastic retreat and really welcoming. The space is sparkling clean, really neat, and has everything you need - the whole place was well thought-out and Karen even baked us some fresh homemade bread and left some homemade jam and marmalade. We loved our trip, we’ll be back!

    Kate2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This bothy was such a great place to stay, I could not recommend this place enough. Karen was a fantastic host and was incredibly helpful regarding local tips and trips. The bothy itself was maintained to a high standard and was also cosy for after a long day walking. The bothy was also situated within a 5 minute walk to amenities. Just really good!

    Kirsty2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a brilliant time staying at the bothy. We were made to feel really welcome and were really touched by the extra effort put in to make us feel at home. The welcome pack was a really nice personal touch and there was loads of information on hand about the local area. Karen's was a really fantastic host and was really friendly and helpful whenever we saw her..The bothy was really nicely furnished and very comfortable and private too. We bought our dog with us and it was the perfect space for him too. Grantown is also a great place to explore the highlands.

    Sally2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Had the best time at Karen and Neil’s bothy this weekend. All made special by their fantastic hosting and the lovely bothy and town. They were flexible with the check in times and we were welcomed with fresh bread and jam made by Karen and also milk in the fridge. The place was decorated to a high spec and spotless. The bed was very comfortable. There was plenty of information regarding the surrounding area with board games and books on site. We would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Great people and a great place!

The cottage is over 200 years old and has just undergone renovation. Surrounded by garden with ample parking space, it sits on a hillside overlooking the glen. Although this is a rural location we do have WIFI, Broadband and mobile reception - though the latter is usually found in the garden and not in the house itself. Not entirely out in the wilderness, there is a nearby village, Tomintoul, with pubs, village shop, cafes and restaurants, a lovely gift shop and the famous Whiskey Castle shop.
Your bedroom is a light and airy room with a large skylight above the double bed from where you can lie and watch the stars on clear nights. The night skies here are truly breath-taking (as they should be as we have Dark Sky designation here). The shower room is shared and has all new plumbing. A full Scottish breakfast (also a vegetarian version), or a lighter breakfast, can be ordered (just let us know when you book) for £8 each, and is served in the kitchen diner. The snug, which is available to you to sit and relax in, has an open fire for cooler evenings (although of course the cottage has central heating) and coffee and tea making facilities. The garden is also for you to enjoy. .
The cottage is situated in the Cairngorms National Park which is an area of outstanding natural beauty. The cottage itself is nearly 1000 feet above sea level and looks down over the glen. Scottish wildlife abounds: deer, reindeer, owls, eagles, red squirrels, badgers, hares and many more. The nearby mountains offer glorious opportunities for climbing and hill walking. Add fishing, canoeing, cycling, touring the many distilleries on the Whiskey Trail, exploring old Scottish castles, organised picnics in the wilds -reached by landrover or argocat, and much more. Glorious beaches also are reachable in just over an hour's drive north. Further info on such can be obtained online from the Tomintoul Discovery Centre, and we have plenty of information leaflets for you to browse in the cottage.
  • Ruth was a great host she made me feel very welcome on arrival. The room was warm and cozy. It also had a skylight so I could watch the stars in bed! I was served and enormous Scottish breakfast in the morning and Ruth was very helpful in giving me tips on the things to do and see nearby. Such a beautiful peaceful area surrounded by nature, just what I was looking for! I would highly recommend staying with Ruth. Thanks for a lovely time, hope to see you again soon x

    Elise2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay here! This is without a doubt the cleanest, best equipped and most homely AirBnB I have ever stayed in. We were greeted on arrival, which was extremely helpful. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. Everything was spotless, and the Christmas decorations were a lovely touch. Location is very central and only a minute away from the town centre and local woodland walks. Really couldn't recommend it highly enough!

Highland Shepherd Huts are located in the heart of Cairngorm National Park, offering the ultimate glamping experience. Perfect for two for either a well needed escape or romantic break. Experience nature and adventure in our shepherd's huts situated in 16 acres of woodland at Mondhuie near Nethy Bridge. We do accept well behaved dogs and the hut only has room for 1 large dog or 2 small dogs. We have to charge for this and the cost is £15 per dog per stay.
Hand-built to a high standard, this magical shepherds hut has all the essentials for a peaceful, revitalizing few days away. In Coorie the bed is king size and comfortable, the shower is large with a rain shower head and the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. The only source of heating is a wood-burning stove. This adds warmth to an enchanting interior. You'll have everything you need for a great stay and in a fantastic location to explore the surrounding area of the Cairngorm National Park.
Our huts sit in 16 acres of mixed woodland. Nethy bridge is only a 10 minute walk away with a local butcher, coffeeshop and local convenience store. Aviemore is accessible by car and takes around 15 minutes to reach by car or alternatively hop on bikes and enjoy a 45 minute ride in some lovely landscapes full of pine trees and heather.
  • The hut was perfectly placed just outside the lovely little town of Nethy Bridge. Friday morning, we were greeted by a roaming deer outside which we viewed from the bed, a lovely surprise and not a bad way to start your morning. The bed was extremely comfortable, and no matter the temperature of the hut, the shower was always perfectly warm. We certainly will make a second trip, next time we'd love to bring the dog with us. Thanks for a lovely experience and much-needed escape.

  • A superb little shepherd's hut in a beautiful part of Scotland. A very clean, comfortable, well thought out space with cracking views. The hut is in a secluded, yet very accessible spot, that was easy to find. We were greeted by Nic who was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. We really enjoyed our short stay and will definitely recommend to friends and family.

    Amy-Louise2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Genuinely can’t say enough good things about this little hut. Arrived in the evening to be welcomed by a little path with fairy lights into the hut which was already warm and cosy due to the fire having being lit prior to arrival. The hut has all the amenities you need and has such a well thought out design. With little touches most places often lack. We had a fantastic nights stay and cannot wait to come back for another visit in the future. Couldn’t recommend the place enough.

    Hannah2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Zoe has thought of everything. Would 100% recommend.

    Mike2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect cosy cabin to retreat and wait out stormy weather. We booked the hut at short notice but Zoe got straight back to us and made everything very easy. A little expensive although we only stayed for one night so were perhaps a little more stung by the service/cleaning fee. We loved it and wish we could have stayed longer!

    Annecy2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The shepherd hut is great! Lovely location with great views and walks nearby. We will definitely be back.

    Ross2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is really something magical and close to anything you want to see in the cairngorms. You can hide out from the world, but still be close to farms hops andthe best lochs and trails. Loved it.

    Do2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic break in the Hut. It is super cute in the most stunning of locations. Our stay was over a freezing January weekend and we were so cosy with the log burner on. The shower is amazing and the bed very comfy. The number 34 bus makes it easy to get back from the pub in either Boat or Nethy too. We’d recommend the trail to get to Boat though. Just on the door step and gorgeous.
