  • My wife and two son's stayed at Sajjad's house for the night. It was excellent. Sajjad gave us a thorough handover which was appreciated. The house itself is beautiful. My sons loved the swimming pool, steam room and the pool table. I'd recommend staying at Sajjad's house. Its spectacular and definitely has the wow factor.

  • Beautiful house and had a lovely stay

    Janice2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful house & was perfect for our family get-together with ages ranging from 12-75! The location is beautiful & the house exactly what we needed - plenty of communal space but equally individual space too. We absolutely loved the pool & hot tub and I can’t recommend this lovely house highly enough.

    Fiona2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say? Third year in a row our team has had their Christmas stay at this property. Facilities are excellent - swimming pool (nice & warm)/ Sauna/ Hot tub all put excellent use/ Theatre room used to chill out & relax and watch a movie. Any questions, Sajjad gives a quick response. If looking for somewhere to relax in a lovely location, then I recommend this property.

  • Vicky is the best host you can imagine. She was very flexible, answered immediately and gave us a warm welcome. Even when our car was stuck in the mud she helped us. Her place is beautiful and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and the view is awesome. I would come back any time! Thanks a lot for everything.

  • Great place - would highly recommend

    Brendan2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Vicki and Daisy were lovely! Their home is AMAZING, there is a small water fall and a beautiful padio just outside. Their chickens roam around on the lawn, giving the home a farm house feel. There is a sweet dog and cat who will love you to pieces. The breakfast was incredible... with fresh chicken eggs!! The house and decor is straight out of a country cottage magazine. Our bedroom was warm and cozy. So clean, so chic, the beds were super comfy, and the bathtub was so relaxing. Vicki was a great guide, and her friend Gregor was helpful getting us around.

  • A location not to be missed. Exceptional natural setting. Just perfect apartment. Renato was super reactive, and had good advice. Just the best of BnB!

  • Perfect location, not too far to travel from the city but feels like a million miles away. The apartment is great, very spacious but also warm and cosy! The kitchen is well equipped and there's an added bonus of a separate utility room for wet clothes /boots if you get caught out in the wild Scottish weather (as we did!) Directions and details for arrival were clear and much appreciated!

  • Beautiful location and peaceful. We arrived late and left early with easy check in, wish we had more time to explore.

  • Great place to stay we had a lovely time with our three boys, brilliant views would definitely recommend.

  • Fantastic stay at Carbeth House. Flat it’s self was immaculate, warm and welcoming, very homely. We slept exceptionally well. Renato was an excellent host, he is very welcoming and nothing was a bother for him. The views from Carbeth House were outstanding. We will definitely be returning in the near future, ideal location for a peaceful, rural get away. Wonderful little pub a mile down the road The Old Mill, it has a great atmosphere, friendly staff and friendly locals.

    Matthew2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! The photos and details on the site give you an idea what to expect, but the place is truly fantastic - you properly feel like you're living in a Lord's manor house, or similar. Tons of space, yet comfortable and well furnished throughout, our family had a great couple of days here. Only minor negative is the state of the driveway following the recent storms - make sure you travel in something a bit more robust than you might normally choose!

    Alex2020-02-20T00:00:00Z

  • The stay at Vicki's is very pleasant. The cottage is charming, the setting beautiful. The room is very clean and has everything you need. Breakfast is a real bonus!

  • Our stay at Vicky's place was amazing, beautiful place spotlessly clean. Vicky was so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much bother for her. Beautiful surroundings a lovely breakfast. We'll definitely be back.

  • This house located by a river is a haven of peace. It is close to Loch Lomond. Tastefully decorated, the house is welcoming as is its owner. It is a place where we felt good and we will return with pleasure! Good and plentiful breakfast with lots of choices. A thought for Missy (her cat) that we will miss!

    Marianne2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Vicki's place was wonderful. The house is lovely, very clean and comfortable with amazing views. Hospitality and communication was great as was the breakfast.

    Vicky2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Vicki’s cottage was so lovely and homely, we absolutely loved staying here. Whilst we only stopped for one night, Vicki went out of her way to make sure we were happy, giving us a great recommendation for dinner and some tips on local hiking routes. The cottage itself is in a great location to explore Loch Lomond and surrounding areas, it’s beautifully decorated and so cosy. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay for longer! Shout out to Daisy (Vicki’s daughter) too, she’s a little star and made our trip even more memorable.

    Benjamin2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot recommend this place enough. The hosts, Vicki and Daisy were brilliant. They are so friendly and welcomed us into their home, the kettle was on and the log fire was lit for our arrival. We were also really fond of their cocker spaniel Monty, big fluffy cat called Missy and their chickens. The room is perfect, cosy and warm and the cottage itself is tucked away, situated right beside the river, it’s so peaceful and beautiful! We will definitely be back ❤️

    Jess2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I loved this place. If you want more than the usual holiday locations Vicki is an amazing host and transforms the atmosphere into a warm and home from home experience. The bungalow is exquisite and the location is beautiful. Due to the thoughtful touches and help Vicki gave us we will absolutely go back. Simply put .. an experience not to be missed.

    Kenneth2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Vicky and another very welcoming and discreet house is ideally located in a quiet location while being close to the amenities and activities of the area such as Conic Hill. the house is really beautiful with a view of a very nice little river the room is impeccably clean and the bed is very comfortable. Vicky prepared us an excellent and very generous breakfast, there are many choices. I recommend ++ My only regret is the language barrier I will start to English when I get home.

  • River Cottage is like a dream, overlooking the river at the back. It’s wonderful to fall asleep to the sounds of the river, such bliss. I only wish I’d had the chance to enjoy the decking, but it was a tad chilly and wet in March. The cottage is the perfect size for a solo traveller or a couple, lovely and cosy. The kitchen is well kitted out (also has salt, oil, all the basics!) and the cottage is within arms reach of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. It was a perfect base for me and I absolutely intend to return. Vicki is a wonderful host, she popped over when I needed a hand with something and was so welcoming. Her directions are spot on, so make sure you read them beforehand. I used google street view to scope out the markers she mentioned and it couldn’t have been easier to find!

  • Follow the directions and you’ll have nonissue finding the place, a small cost cottage with everything you’ll need. The stream alongside the cottage is great for sleeping and loads of open space for our dog to run about. Locally there are so many things to do, we drove round loch lomond, walked ben lawers and so much more. We loved being what seemed ‘off grid’ yet so local to glasgow. The night sky was great for star gazing and the day time views are breathtaking

    John2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely space. Friendly host. Great stay

    Graeme2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely, cosy little cottage set in a remote location. Loch Lomond is just a short drive away. It’s tucked away, but Vicki’s directions were really clear so we had no trouble finding it from the village. We didn’t get the chance to meet Vicki during our 3 night stay. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean with good amenities. We appreciated all the extra blankets as our first day in Scotland was freezing! The bed was super comfy and the hot water bottles were a nice touch. Our dog loved the cottage and settled in quickly, and the big field outside was handy for walking him. At bedtime, we loved listening to the river and a nearby owl. The only downside was that the TV wouldn’t work; we did reach out to the host for help on the first day (we tried calling first then by text on the numbers provided) as we’d noticed a previous reviewer had recently been helped with a similar issue, but ours was never resolved or followed-up on during our stay. The text response we got felt a little dismissive, so we decided not to push it again. We didn’t come away to watch television, but it would’ve been nice to curl up at night after exploring the area. Luckily we had card games and conversation! Overall, this is a nice cottage set in a lovely part of Scotland that I would recommend especially to couples with a dog or two.

  • Yuliya and Mike's beautiful house is situated in a very quiet and peaceful area, I had no problem finding it. The room is very cosy, beautifully decorated, the bathroom quite large and luminous. The whole place is spotless. Yuliya and Mike are charming hosts, they took good care of me, gave me some good advice about the visits I could do around. I had very interesting conversations with them. Yuliya's vegan breakfast is delicious and very healthy. I would definitely come back.

  • Lovely hosts and facilities. Mike was able to suggest to us many places we could go and things we could do locally. Breakfast was lovely! Would recommend to anyone to stay for a night or long weekend :)

  • Attic room bright and spacious on the floor of a large house nice and quiet. Very good bedding (super king size bed). Very large modern bathroom with shower and tub down the hall. Shampoo and shower gel available. However, bad surprise on arrival, contrary to what the announcement said, we had to share it with another person.

    Nathalie2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Yuliya's place is a great way to enjoy the beautiful area near Loch Lomond. A clean and comfortable room and a delicious vegan breakfast. We would definitely repeat.

    Greg2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Yuliya's and Mike's place is very stylish, clean and beautiful decorated. Personally, I enjoyed the extensive vegan breakfast. It was delicious and the winter garden really invites to take long and relaxed breakfasts. Great start into the day. Overall great place.

  • Yuliya’s place is a great airbnb experience. The room is big, clean and nicely decorated. Yuliya and her husband were both lovely and very helpful. They gave us tips where to eat and what to see in Glasgow, and were really interesting people to talk to. The house its half an hour drive from Glasgow- so If you’re planning to spend time in Glasgow (as was our case) might be a bit remote, but other than that- only positive feedback for this experience!!! Thanks a lot Guys for your hospitality!! It was great to know you!

And we are only 45 minutes by car from Glasgow city centre or Glasgow International Airport. Walkers and cyclists are spoilt for choice with the John Muir Way passing the front door, and the West Highland Way at the other side of the village. Of course you don’t need to take on either of those in full, with easily accessible sections being a more leisurely way to enjoy them, or any of the other trails. Pets allowed.
Croftamie is a quiet, picturesque village. The house is a couple of hundred metres from the next neighbours.
  • The Oval was a fantastic hideaway experience, it will be hard to keep this review concise. There is everything you could imagine you’d need and more in this stay. It’s the perfect cross between glamping and a boutique hotel stay! It poured from when we arrived to the moment we left and it didn’t ruin a thing. The outdoor fire area is well covered and you’re provided with warm robes and blankets to keep you dry. There is a store with games and marshmallows for roasting and then when it’s time to go inside you’ll be in the comfiest bed listening to the quietest and unreserved nature over the gentle low light of the fairy forest. Added bonus: looks absolutely incredible for the ‘gram! Thank you again Katrina!

    Kathryn2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • After being disappointed about our trip abroad being cancelled our stay at the oval well and truly cheered us up. Highlights would be the the stylish and cosy interior of the room, quick responses from the host and great location. As it’s only about half an hour from Glasgow it’s the perfect balance of escaping the city but also not having to travel hours in the car. We loved all the small touches such as the welcome blackboard, fairy lights in the garden and the store in the garden which had board games etc in it for the guests to use. Would definitely recommend and will be back.

  • Amazing place to stay! We had everything we needed and more, very dog friendly, our pup loved lying in front of the log fire 🔥 🐕 despite the cold, we managed to sit outside till midnight in front of the fire with blankets and some gin, the oval was comfy, warm and had everything! We loved the little touches and the candles, it felt like a proper relaxing getaway! Will definitely be back and we have already been telling everyone to come here!

    Emma2020-03-06T00:00:00Z

  • We have just returned from a lovely stay in the oval. Both my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. It was the perfect place for us both to unwind and switch off from our busy family life. I was super impressed with all the hosts little welcoming touches from the personalised blackboard and the front door to the de-icer and scrapers placed at the parking bays. I hope this will be the first of many visits! Until next time... Greg & Ellis

The flat has recently been refurbished (the kitchen and bathroom are brand new and very stylish!). Kitchen is fully equipped (microwave, toaster, kettle, oven and cooker, cutlery, plates and pots) so if you want, you can cook for yourself. • Lovely wee pod to stay in. Perfect place to go out for walks and explore the area. We were given great directions to find the pod, much easier than I expected. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. We used some of the eggs from the hens for breakfast and they were delicious.

  • A beautiful place to relax after we walked the west highland way. A short trip to Glengoyne Distillery as well. Katrina was a delightful host! Engaging conversationalist, quick to respond, and true Scottish hospitality. Coming from a Mississippian (The “Hospitality State”) that’s saying something.

  • Myself and my fiancé stayed for just one night however we wished we could have stayed longer. The arch was such a cool space, spotlessly clean and had great little touches such as bagels and porridge for the morning. We can’t comment on the surrounding area too much, as we didn’t stay long, however we drank at the Clachan (the oldest licensed pub in Scotland apparently). We look forward to booking again soon! Thank you!

1 bedroom semi-detached cottage set on around 15 acres of private land with stunning views over some of Scotlands finest scenery and hills including Ben Lomond. The property itself is equipped with private access, private decking area, one bedroom with king size bed and a private bathroom with shower. The kitchen/living area is complete with all essentials including dishwasher and washing machine and a small dining table.
The property is accessed via the decking. Inside you will have a lovely log burner which I will supply the logs for.
We are lucky enough to be set just outside the village of Gartocharn. Our nearest neighbour is actually Duncryne riding and trekking centre so if you fancy taking up horse riding or fancy a trek when you’re here then we can arrange this for you. You will need a car to access our property.

The location is a great base for walking through the Trossachs, close to the car park for Ben Lomond while also being near to supermarkets etc. Fire is as delightful as you'd expect, kitchen amenities are great, and shower is really good. The bed was comfy and we were supplied two towels each. I loved the little touches, such as setting the fire for us on our first night so it was ready to go when we arrived. Very thoughtful! We will be back no doubt!

A rural upper floor apartment with stunning mountain view of the Scottish Highlands. Just 30 minutes from Glasgow and Stirling. A great location to explore Loch Lomond & The Trossachs.
Our apartment is very light, bright and airy and the views from the bedroom and living room make it extra special.
We are located in a quiet leafy lane just outside the village of Croftamie. Within 10 minutes you can be hiking in the Trossachs or cruising on Loch Lomond. The West Highland Way is just minutes away and we are on the National Route 7 cycle path. It is a very peaceful and idyllic cottage to relax and unwind.
  • Thank you once again, Jenny, for your thoughtful little touches (freshly baked bread!!) and great hospitality. The peacefulness + serenity of the area was such a memorable way to bring the decade to an end and welcome a new one! The stay calmed both our minds and was a much needed break away from the chaos of London. I am so certain that we will both be coming back again :-)

  • I stayed at Tullycross with a need for some R&R. I couldn't have chosen a better spot to stay at. The views from either side of the property are amazing and it's just so peaceful and quiet. The place itself is fantastic and had everything I needed. It's perfect location wise too, being so close to the various places around the southern tip of Loch Lomond. Jenny and Ned were brilliant hosts who were always there if you needed something and left you to it otherwise. There were some great suggestions on places to visit and things to do, which were perfect for someone who didn't really know the area. If you want somewhere to truly enjoy Loch Lomond and it's surrounding areas from, I'd recommend Tullycross hands down. Very much worth it.

    Ben2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Tullycross was most enjoyable. It is very clean, has extra amenities like heated towel racks, she is responsive to any need and has updated information about places to go and things to do and is most gracious. I would not hesitate to recommend Tullycross to anyone.

    Jean2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • A great stay. We arrived to a fresh bunch of flowers and freshly baked bread. The house is equipped with everything you need, great cooking facilities with all the basics, nice lounge room to relax and a GREAT bed. We also travelled with a 9 month old baby and Jenny provided a porta cot and some toys. A great base to explore Loch Lomond.

  • Very new and beautiful room and bathroom in a wonderful old, but completely renovated cow shed. Carolyn gave us a very warm welcome and prepared a delicious Scottish breakfast in the morning. One of the best Airbnbs I stayed in!

    Felix2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Carolyn's place. The place is clean, cosy, and in beautiful surroundings. The full Scottish breakfast was exceptionally done (and catered to my allergies), and the hospitality throughout was as if we were staying with a friend. Her lovely family are incredible hosts, such polite children, and of course the instantly loveable family dog - who we already miss! She also suggested an itinerary for our last day that we embarked on and which really rounded off our weekend perfectly. Thanks for having us!

    Shan2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect ! Carolyn warmly welcomed us and offered to dry our wet clothes (which she even ironed!). The room is cozy, nicely decorated and the bed comfortable! We enjoy the coffee / tea available in the room with small homemade cookies! The breakfast of the next day is also magnificent! I can only recommend this address!

  • Carolyn and her family make you feel at home. I highly recommend this B & B. The house is located in the countryside but close to the city where besides Carolyn we booked a table knowing that we would arrive late. Really everything was perfect until breakfast and Carolyn's little touches.

  • Amazing barn conversion in a great spot! Carolyn was beyond accomodating, her family are lovely (including the dogs) and the breakfast was delicious! X

  • We stayed for two nights at Carolyn‘s house. The room was very nice and clean. Carolyn is an absolute lovely host! Her tips were worth a mint. Also her dogs were very cute. We can totally recommend her!

Altquhur Cottage is in a beautiful location with stunning views over the Campsie Fells, 10 minutes by car to the Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond. The cottage is set on a farm with horses, cows and sheep in the surrounding fields and hens roaming around outside the garden. The cottage has a spacious dining kitchen, cosy living room with wood burning stove and comfortable sofa bed, double bedroom, bathroom and utility room. There is a fully enclosed garden with outdoor furniture.
The cottage is situated on a quiet lane one mile from Drymen with some fantastic walks from the front door. We have Wifi, Freesat TV, DVD Player and a selection of DVDs and books to keep you entertained should the Scottish weather live up to it's reputation!
We are in a very rural setting with views over the surrounding hills and farms. Drymen is one mile away from the cottage.
  • We loved staying in the cottage, it was very cute and had everything we needed. Would recommend!

    Lisa2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cottage in the countryside. Easy to get to local attractions and great access to areas to walk in the countryside. Would recommend to anyone looking to visit the trossachs area!

  • Fantastic cottage in a beautiful location. Perfect for a relaxing weekend for 2!

    Jo2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely homely base and a great location from which to explore Loch Lomond and the surrounding area from.

    Emily2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Carolyn was a great host! Excellent communication and very helpful - check in was really easy. The cottage was lovely and clean and the fire place was perfect to come back to after a day out. Thanks, Carolyn!

    Caitlin2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • From the outset the communication was flawless between myself and Carolyn. She gave accurate directions to the cottage and recommended a lovely little walk up conic hill are on first day. Carolyn met us at the cottage and showed us around along with gifting us a bottle of fizz. The cottage is in a perfect location for exploring loch lomand the surrounding areas. The village of Drymen is gorgeous nd has a couple of excellent pubs/restaurants. We ate at the Clachan inn which can highly recommend, they even allow dogs in the bar area where there is a long fire and friendly locals. The log burner in th cottage is a highlight and Carolyn supplies all the bits to get it started for the 1st night. After this it's £7 for a box of seasoned wood which is good quality and a great price. I cannot fault our 3 night trip to the cottage, it comfortably accommodated me my partner and our Labrador. The cottage has all the amenities required for an extended stay and has all the items you could need for cooking in the kitchen shohl you wish. I would definitely stay again and would not hesitate in recommending the cottage, location and Carolyn.

  • Great host, great cottage, great location. We wanted a quiet Christmas after a busy year and couldn't have wanted for more. Stunning surroundings, Drymen village is a 30 minute walk with lovely pub food and Loch Lomond and the West Highland Way is practically on the doorstep.

A 4 star accredited lodge which was converted in 2016 from an 18th century outbuilding, once the public conveniences for Kilmanarock Public School. The Old School was closed in 1907 and now operates as an established B&B where the owner lives in. Architecturally designed and meeting modern construction standards, Siberian Larch clads a new extension to the original stone building creating a unique space ideal for 2 to 4. A great place to explore Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park.
The building is designed as a one-bedded apartment with top quality fixtures and fittings. A small ensuite toilet adjoins the hotel quality bedroom with zip-linked king size bed that converts to twin beds, on request, oak bedroom furniture and TV. The place is heated by a thermostatically controlled LPG combination boiler providing instant hot water as well as central heating. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots and pans and includes a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge with small freezer compartment, oven, hob and microwave. The open plan diner/lounge provides a cosy space to relax with a lovely log burner and SMART TV to watch TV or stream video or film via the internet. Free WIFI is throughout. A four piece bathroom with bath and stand-alone shower completes the apartment. A private courtyard with table and chairs can be accessed through French doors off the lounge or from the bedroom.
Houlet's Nest is situated on the A811 one mile from Gartocharn and three miles from Drymen. The apartment is an annex to The Old School House Bed & Breakfast, and adjoins Loch Lomond RSPB Reserve. It is in the beautiful Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park and perfectly situated for exploring all the park has to offer. Drymen is a lovely village situated on the West Highland Way (long distance walking route) and has plenty of places to eat out. Balloch is only 4 miles away with more options for eating out or takeaways. If you want a day off from hiking, biking or sailing then Stirling, with its historical sites, is only 30 minute drive away and Glasgow a similar distance with its many museums and shopping options. There are endless things to do and see on the loch itself or at local attractions.
  • Hilary is such a wonderful, warm, welcoming host who is very thoughtful. Houlet’s Nest was sparkling clean on check in and offered so much more than a Five Star hotel. The welcoming hamper was so very thoughtful and put a huge smile our faces. The Nest lies next to a main road but when you close the door to the Nest, you really wouldn’t know. Walks/Hikes are plentiful (Conic Hill is a must for the views) and only ever a short drive (4 miles) away, the same applies for all local amenities. Balloch Castle (Plus huge park) and Loch Lomond are literally 5mins drive from Houlet’s Nest. Overall, I would highly recommend Hilary as the host and of course Houlet’s Nest. We will definitely be returning.

    Scott2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn't have asked for any more, the cottage is clean, cosy and has everything you could possibly need for a short or long stay. The location is ideal, as it's situated close to shops but is still very much rural and Hilary is the perfect host, communication was quick and easy and it's not often you find someone who comes across as warm and welcoming the first time you meet. We highly recommend staying and would love to return in the future! :-)

    Lorraine2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! If you are thinking of booking this place, do! The nest is a home from home with lots of added extras that aren’t standard with most self catering accommodation. Perfect for exploring Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Loved our week here.

    Paul2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Houlets nest is an ideal base to explore loch lomond and the trossachs and beyond. There are breathtaking views all around. The accommodation is excellent and Hilary is a friendly and welcoming host. It was all perfect. Highly recommended.

  • Hilary is a great host, good communication, always available if needed, good recommendations on pubs, things to see. Importantly, left you alone unless you needed help! Good location for exploring Loch Lomond and even the Cairngorns if you get an early start in. Car is essential.

  • We loved it. The place is even bigger than in looks on photos, very well equipped. We have been very pleasantly surprised. Hilary is perfect host, great communication, on time, helping us with local tips for the family. Great experience, really recommend.

  • Yuliya's warm hostess, prepared a vegetarian breakfast for my friends, we enjoyed it very much, and the room was beautiful and clean, the bed was very comfortable, I didn't want to get up in the morning, I didn't want to get up, hahaha... I have a chance to have a very good experience! If you want to experience rural life choices it won't let you down! If you like garden life and want to live in a forest park, choosing it will not disappoint you! A great experience!

    Zoyi2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Yuliya and Mike were very kind and welcoming throughout our stay. In addition to accommodating an unplanned late checkin as we arrived late, they also made an amazing breakfast for us. The house is beautiful with thoughtful touches, and the two bedrooms we stayed in were comfortable and spacious for us. The house has good parking spaces, WiFi works well and had all the amenities to make our stay very comfortable. It was a shame we only got to spend a night here as would have loved to be for longer.

    Shoham2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Yuliya and her husband are lovely and friendly. The house is really clean. The beds are comfortable. Breakfast was nice. Thank you. I recommend staying there.

  • A wonderful friendly welcome awaits you from Yuliya and Mike. Spacious rooms and sumptuous bed linen. A home from home with access to the kitchen and seating looking out onto the garden and views beyond. Dont be put off by the vegan breakfast, it was a wonderful continental spread and Yuliya couldnt do enough to help. Will definitely visit again in this lovely area.

  • Anything you can say will fall short of what you can say about the beautiful house and the unbeatable hosts. Pure kindness. Total tranquility in the house. Large rooms. Huge bathroom. A modern, new and beautifully decorated house. He does not lack anything. Friendly and very friendly hosts. The vegan breakfast and the glassed-in porch of the house also brings its grace.

Thank you for the little touch of attention: the croissants (especially when you are French !! ..) The accommodation is well placed, next to Loch Lomond. • We had a lovely stay at Sajjad and Thomas’ place! It’s not too far from Glasgow which means it’s really easy to get to yet still feels nice and remote when you get to the chalet. The place is very well kept and has all the amenities you’d need for a short stay. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to find and the check in process was very simple. I would certainly recommend Sajjad and Thomas’ place for a relaxing stay!

  • We had a great weekend here! Check-in was very easy, the location is absolutely stunning with great views and a great base to explore the area! The apartment was clean and warm and had everything we needed! Comfy bed, good facilities. We cooked in both nights and enjoyed the log burning stove! Communication was great. • Warm, cosy and very comfortable cottage with log burner and central heating. Comfortable bed and cooking facilities for self catering and a dishwasher as well. Pool and hot tub are very good, waterproof shoes are recommended for when making your way back to the cottage as the ground can be a bit muddy and stony. Had a great stay here and would highly recommend.

  • Wish we'd booked a few more nights! Loved our stay here and hope to be back soon, thanks again Rosie and Dave!

    Jack2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Hayloft was much better then we ever imagined. The house is well equipped with everything we needed I the kitchen and we loved the little touches such as the bottle of fizz and flapjack on arrival. The living room space is larger and nicer then we thought with a flat screen tv and blu Ray/dvd player and lots of films to watch (the photos don’t do it justice). The best feature for us was the swimming pool and hot tub. We took our 6 month old daughter so we took it in turns to go in the hot tub but it was so relaxing at night time. The pool was small but perfect as you can change the setting to allow a current so ku can swim against it. The only thing we struggled with was driving along the uneven track to the property but we have a low car so we didn’t want to be travelling on it in the dark. Other then that we moved our little get away and did lots of sightseeing as well as visiting the near by safari park in Blair Drummond

    Rebecca2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, comfy cottage in a quiet area. Thoughtful touches from host who was very quick at responding. The hot tub was fantastic to relax after a long day of walking. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a place around Loch Lomond

The Strath in Killearn is a delightful country home. The cosy seating area with wood burning stove opens into the kitchen and dining area. A large lounge with original fireplace is accessed through double doors. The kitchen doors provide access to the garden area, sheltered by surrounding trees. The two available comfortable double bedrooms upstairs provide views across the hills and countryside. A bathroom with bath and shower upstairs is complimented by the additional bathroom downstairs.
A beautiful family home with a cosy and modern interior. Sitting in a quiet part of the village down a wee lane, surrounded by its own pretty garden with private parking. Walking distance to the local Church and Village Hall. Only a few minutes walk into the centre of the village and with a 30 minute drive to Glasgow and Stirling. The house was renovated a few years ago and has a relaxing decor with an open plan downstairs. It has a well equipped kitchen and log burner with a couple of settees, one of which makes into a double bed. Leading into a lounge with the tv, open fire and two big comfy settees. Two double bedrooms are available and a modern bathroom with bath and over bath shower. A utility room with a washing machine and hanger dryer is available. And use of all bedlinen and towels is included in the price.
Killearn is a beautiful, pretty village, not too far from Glasgow or Stirling, and about 40 minutes from Glasgow airport. The surrounding countryside provides many things to do, walking from the house is very easy and you are soon off the main roads. The village is near to The Trossachs and Loch Lomond National Park. Providing a wide range of outdoor activities! Glasgow is in reach and provides an incredible amount of theatres, galleries and places to visit...Edinburgh can be reached in about 1.5 hours. There is a Co Op about 400 yards from the house, out of the lane and turn left on the village road, past the pub on the left and follow the road down. It’s on the right hand side. The nearest train station is in Milngavie, about 20/25 mins drive from the house. Trains go into Glasgow and through to Edinburgh.
  • The Strath is a great place to base yourself if you are visiting Loch Lomond or Stirling. It is a comfortable house where you can feel at home straight away.

  • We had an amazing stay! It's like home away from home. The house were fantastic, relaxing and it had everything that we need. This has been our best Airbnb experience. The house is clean with complete amenities. The open fireplace was gorgeous, my wife loved it. We did a lot of activities nearby for our 7-day stay, like Glengoyne Distillery, Doune & Balloch Castle, Loch Lomond Trossachs National Park and trip to nearby lakes and rivers. We tried The Old Mill Inn and the food were great! Everyone were so friendly and helpful. Thank you for making our wedding anniversary a very special one. We'll definitely recommend your place and hope to go back soon. Cheers!

  • Fabulous place to stay. Very comfortable and great location as cental to many areas. Great area for a variety of different walks to do, including section of West Highland Way. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this Air B n B .

  • We loved staying in this rather grand comfortable family house. The house is well equipped with a particularly great kitchen and dining area, there are also cosy areas to sit- a fabulous front room with a big TV. The house is exactly as described in the photos. The location is brilliant- so much stunning scenery, Loch Lomand is near, we drove around it, and visited Luss and several viewing points- as recommended by the v helpful local information office in Balloch. The bedrooms are comfy with nice beds. There are stacks of books, and some lovely family mementoes around. It’s feels very much like a home from home. We would stay again as we loved it, and we would like to see more of the local landscape. We came for a wedding taking place in Killearn town hall- (which incidentally is a great venue). In addition communication with Shona was great and quick. (The Old Mill in the village is a lovely pub/ restaurant but you may need to book, we also had pancakes at The 3 sisters and bought croissants from the deli/ wine shop at the side of the pub- Hewitt & Aker. A well equipped village.)

  • This was our first time booking with airbnb, so was apprehensive. But Shona, your house was perfect. Absolutely everything I could have hoped for and more. Amazing garden, spacious dining kitchen, comfy bedrooms, stunning staircase and cozy wood burner to end the night. Shona was great at keeping in touch and we really felt at home.

  • Superb facilities & lovely and clean . Beautiful home from home !

    Karen2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This listing is for a proper home, which is a lovely change from so many Airbnbs that are clearly not real living spaces. It was such a treat to settle in to a place that was well-equipped and cosy. The location is great for exploring the area and the local pub is fantastic. Thanks, Shona!

  • Lovely and attractive house with all modern conveniences. Cozy kitchen and comfortable bathroom (shower in the bath) and a view of a small local tennis club. Supermarket and pub within walking distance. Hour drive from Edinburgh Airport. We enjoyed 3 days and immediately felt at home! Very attentive hostess and easy check in. Recommended !!

Great friendly cats and other numerous animals about the property give this home a very lovely feel. There's a great view of the mountains and the sweetest local bar just down the road. 5 stars.

    Jeffrey2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • We were at Beccy’s place for such a short time, yet it truly enriched our experience in Scotland. She gave magical recommendations for our evening in Gartmore and for the rest our trip! The room was immensely cozy and Beccy shared a proper breakfast in morning! The property was beautiful with breathtaking views of the Trossachs. Beccy was so kind and we had great conversation! We would definitely stay again in the future!

    Mandy2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • A place not to be missed! Outstanding locations with breathtaking views of the Trossachs. Beccy's welcome is perfect. Dedicated to her animals, it is a very relaxing and very quiet place. If you can go for a walk in the pub of the village, the inhabitants cut themselves in 4 for you and are pampered! We have more than enjoyed this place, do not miss it if you pass in the area!

    Justine2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location for exploring the area of Loch Lomond/ Stirling. Beccy and David are great hosts and pleasant to talk with. Beccy gave us some great recommendations to do and for dinner. Lovely breakfast. It's a big room with a great view, so perfect die staying with a baby.

  • Lovely, warm and welcoming hosts and a really quiet and relaxing place to stay. And a very comfortable room too.

    David2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beccy's place is exceptional, definitely one of the most breathtaking places we have ever been with Airbnb. A true gem in the Scottish countryside, surrounded by nature and peace. The room is very large and full of character, the bed huge and super comfy. Breakfast delicious. Beccy is a kind, friendly and attentive host and she can give lots of very good advice on where to go and what to do to make the most of your stay. Definitely highly recommended!

    Ambra2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning location, best breakfast, big and clean room. In one word: FANTASTIC. If you are visiting Scotland by car, this B&B is a must-do. Beccy and her family are the best: very kind, easy to talk to and very good hosts. In the evening we were able to enjoy the sky with the million stars. The place is so quite you can only here the cat purring along your legs. We even saw a deer! The way to the house is a little bumpy but if you take the time, it is easy to do. The GPS on our phone gave great directions and we found the house immediatly. You can park the car very easily and the garden is huge. The funny sheep say 'hi' when you pass them and the chicks come and talk to you in the morning. The cottage is totally worth the money (maybe even too cheap for what you get?). We were only here for one night, and regret it already. We'll be back!

  • Amazing, definitely we will come back. Location was great, close to shops but still in the middle of the nature. The hall with pool, plenty of books and ping pong perfect for rainy days. Many thanks to Mira and Martin for looking after us

  • Warm, cosy cottages in an idyllic location. All mod cons but in a peaceful rural setting. Our cottage had a comprehensive guide with loads of helpful info on local attractions. Fantastic views out of the bedroom/lounge windows. Location is great for Loch Lomond, Glengoyne distillery and Devil's Pulpit, though (like most of Scotland) you'll need a car! We really enjoyed our stay here

    Andrew2017-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a picturesque setting. Fabulous views and a tranquil place to stay. The buildings have been beautifully and sympathetically restored. Ours was very comfortable, warm and well furnished. The bed was lovely to sink into after travelling from Australia and the feather pillows were much appreciated. Great size bathroom with good shower too. We'll certainly be back next time we're visiting the Family!

    Caroline2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is very secluded with beautiful views. It was very well kept and had everything we needed for our stay. I'd definitely stay again if I'm back in that part of Scotland.

  • We loved staying at Marguerite's place. The house is very tastefully decorated, and has all the amenities and comfort that one could want to truly feel at home, away from home. The hosts, who live in the large stately home just around the corner, are very gracious and considerate. On our daughter's birthday, when the weather was very sunny (the one day that it was that week), they graciously brought over a parasol to allow us to sit comfortably on the patio. very kind! the location is great for day trips to the surrounding area. we made trips to loch lomond, inchailoch island, stirling, falkirk, loch katrine, balloch and helensburg. highly recommended. wouldn't mind staying here again. it is a bit remote (as are most places in the Trossachs/loch lomond area, so you do need a car).

It was well equipped and there was also ample outside space for us. We were made very welcome on arrival and a welcome pack was a lovely touch. We had our dog with us and we were able to take her everywhere with us as there were so many dog-friendly bars, restaurants and cafes in the surrounding area.

We are Barbara and Thorsten and would like to invite you to our guest house in the beautiful village of Balmaha on the eastern shores of Loch Lomond – the perfect location for walkers on the West Highland Way or for a short break away from it all. We offer hire bikes, please reserve with your booking, limited quantity available. WiFi available now!
The guest lodge has eight en suite rooms which can be configured as double or twin rooms – whichever you prefer. A communal kitchen is now available. The rooms are much more than a bedroom. The unique design offers a flexible space and converts from a sitting area suitable for playing games, enjoying a snack or simply relaxing with friends. For walkers arriving with wet clothes, each room features a heated drying rail and hanging area. Birchwood’s ventilation system means there’s no condensation or odours even when drying wet clothes and, better still, provides ventilation without the need to open the window…which keeps the midgies at bay in the summer months! BALMAHA offers all you need including a village shop, a fantastic restaurant with great atmosphere and we recommend the home made ice cream from the coffee shop next to it. Check out the Loch Lomond National Park visitor centre nearby which offers lots of information about the local area. Interested in hiring a canoe? A boat trip to Inchcailloch a beautiful island with historical background? A boat trip to Luss on the west side of Loch Lomond which is a fantastic experience, If you like hiking, Conic Hill is just behind our location and the summit with it’s with a stunning view just an hour’s walk. And when you arrive back from your adventure, Birchwood Guest Lodge’s lovely rooms give you the perfect space for a well-deserved rest.
  • Thorsten has the most beautiful lodge in Loch Lomond, we had a perfect one night stay and would highly recommend it for anyone staying in the area. We could easily have stayed longer, with comfortable and clever convertible beds making the area very spacious during the day, a lovely bathroom and shower, and a fantastic cooking and eating space that was properly equipped for making and enjoying meals! The are itself is gorgeous and Thorsten was able to recommend a lovely local dinner as well. Do yourself a favour and stay in this beautiful space, you won't regret it!

  • Hilary is a great host. She gave me good tips for the surrounding area. The breakfast was good and the room very nice. The bed was super comfortable. The B&B is located on a street but the room was quiet because it was facing back to the meadow . I can recommend Hilary B&B. It is a great starting point if you want to explore Loch Lomond.

  • Excellent B&B

    Dietmar2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for accommodation in a beautiful, peaceful setting this is the place for you. Hilary is a charming, considerate and helpful host, who does her utmost to ensure that your stay is enjoyable, from the moment that you arrive. Her accommodation is exceptional, clean, tidy and comfortable, with the use of a lounge as well as your bedroom. Her breakfasts are excellent, especially the optional smoked salmon. I would say that a car is essential, since the local bus does not appear to run that often, but there is plenty of parking space. I could not fault Hilary’s place at all and am hoping to return there soon.

Hilary was helpful in providing tips on local things to do/places to have a meal and was accommodating to my needs. Her cat, Hamish, made an appearance and she is adorable! I would recommend a stay at The Old School house to anyone!

  • Beautiful setting, so easy to get settled. Lovely grounds, nice walk and watch deer in the morning from the window

  • We had a wonderful stay at Sycamore Cottage. The location was fantastic with stunning views over the Trossachs and within easy reach of great places to walk. During our stay we hiked Ben Lomond, visited parts of Loch Lomond and Loch Ard and hiked the Arrochar Alps. The cottage itself was homely and spotlessly clean, well furnished with a nice comfy bed and a very well equipped kitchen. We would highly recommend Finnich Cottages and will certainly look to stay again when we are next in the area. Matt, Jasmine and Otis the dog

  • I had a glorious time here in Finnich cottages. So peaceful and stunning views. Beautiful natural setting and wonderfully comfortable space. I'm missing it already as I leave and thank you for such a warm welcome and great suggestions for things to do. Love Emily

  • The arrival was easy, and the cottage was open on arrival. Communication was great before we set off on our journey, and we had no reason to contact the host while we were there - there was huge amounts of information in the cottage (maps, suggestions, a useful booklet). A fantastic cottage and great location for loch lomond national park.
