Holiday rentals with a kayak in Russell

Awesome stay! The kids had an absolute blast. We had no issues during our stay, the owner was lovely and super responsive to any questions we had. The staff at Haruru were also wonderful and welcoming. There are so many activities both on-site and in the surrounding area. We’ll definitely be booking again😊

Kay's place was perfect for a couple of night's getaway. She was a very quick communicator and everything was as expected. She kindly left us freshly baked bread, as well as honey and apples from her property. The beds were very comfy and the whole place was well stocked and much more spacious than we expected. Kay's husband James sorted the pizza over for us and we cooked homemade pizzas. The property is private and secluded but just up a driveway from the road. Would highly recommend both the hosts and the property. Would happily stay again or suggest it to friends and family.

I actually don’t want to give this place away….in essence, it was the most relaxing, gorgeous place to surrender to the everyday stresses of life, hot outdoor spa, cosy log fire place, everything we could have asked for. Great local restaurants, easy ferry access and so many things to explore. Thanks ladies, Dal and Greg

Blown away by location and beautifully presented home, complete with all the bells and whisltes. Loved that we had access to plenty of beach toys, games and books. Did not need a thing. Felt right at home after travelling 800kms. Perfect size for a big whanau who love the beach. The sunrises and sunsets are stunning.

Felt right at home. Had all the amenities and had the most beautiful view! Heaps of things to do for the kids. Super family friendly as well. Ben and Tereza were wonderful hosts.

This place was absolutely perfect. The private round meant the area was secluded, private and had the most beautiful surroundings. From hearing the sea and the kiwis outside, and kayaking from the beach at sunrise it was perfect. I could not recommend this place enough. The communication throughout was so good, it made checking in and understanding the area seamless. Thank you so much to Oliver and Anne for letting us stay in your beautiful home!

We had an amazing stay at The Perch for the weekend. Such a beautiful spot & so peaceful. Very comfortable and spacious with 9 of us, would book again!

Amazing little kiwi back in a private Rocky bay. Awesome for quality family time or a group of friends. Will definitely be staying here again!

The bach was lovely, real kiwi bach also Toni was amazing to deal with and left clear instructions on how to get to the bach as well as checking ourselves in Had everything you possibly would need for a trip away I absolutely loved the place and such an awesome area! The beach would be perfect for kids or swimmers who aren't to confident as the waves aren't strong at all but also have the option of a short walk to the end of the beach to a big shallow area with very little to no waves I really recommend this little bach, I fell in love and definitely would stay again!!

River Cottage was such a gem! The surroundings were like a jungle, the grounds were beautiful and there was fun activities like board games and kayaks. We were even able to borrow a fishing pole and caught a fish! I enjoyed walking around the farm property and river area. My favorite part was access to a lookout tower off the deck. I made my latte each morning and climbed up there to enjoy it while watching and listening to all the birds. Book this place, it's magical!

Our time at the Shearer’s cottage was absolutely magical. My husband and I stayed with our three children for three nights. We were all utterly delighted when we walked in the door - lots of excited gasps from everyone - the surroundings are gorgeous, the property is thoughtfully appointed and spotlessly clean… far enough from the madding crowd to feel peaceful and secluded, yet still a very convenient drive to Kerikeri and the Bay of Islands. Ian and Anna were very friendly and communicative and made us feel totally welcome. Allow time to make the most of this beautiful place. The dawn chorus is glorious! Make sure you opt in for the spa by the river. We really hope we can visit again. Thank you so much Ian and Anna.

Olive Grove Cottage is one of the best airbnbs that we have stayed (trying hard to recall one that was better). The bathroom had loads of bench space for all our things, the bed was so comfortable, and the kitchen had everything that we needed (including a sharp knife - almost a first!). The two cabins (one for bed and ensuite, and the other the kitchen) were connected by a fabulous expansive patio, partly covered with a sail cloth (just right for a bit of shade from the sun). This patio was a great place to relax, have dinner, and enjoy the view - spectacular. Such a lovely private enclave. To top it off, the herb and vegetable garden were available for what we wanted. Lisa is a fabulous host, who made us feel welcome from our very first contact, with a very quick response time. I couldn't recommend Lisa's place more highly.

Linda’s place is beautifully organised and very clean. Lovely starry nights there. I didn’t explore the surrounds as I was too busy helping set up for my sons wedding, etc. next time I’m in Rangitane I’ll visit her studio 🩵

What a beautiful location and fantastic AirBnB! The views from the property are stunning and the place itself is very private. The grounds are just amazing. Short walk to the private beach with access to kayaks and SUPs was a massive plus. Although we got hit by cyclone Tam during our stay this was a very cosy place to ride it out and Lisa was always responsive and helpful with questions. Would definitely recommend!

We absolutely loved it. It was the getaway we needed- my partner, baby and I. It was a walk to the beach and close drive a few minutes to town, we caught the ferry to Waitangi and we just absolutely loved our time. Nga mihi

Tyson’s Waterfront Bach is located very close to the ferry ramp in Okiato. It has a lovely view across the water towards Opua and is well-appointed, delightful, peaceful and cosy. Access to the water is good, the drive to Russell takes only about ten minutes and there is a lovely, local but at times tricky, walk through native forest. Within minutes of arriving, we were relaxed and enjoying our stay. So it continued for 5 nights. We’d come again. Thank you John

Kevin and John were such lovely hosts! They were kind and thoughtful and friendly .The place itself was cosy and filled with thoughtful amenities. Perfect for a weekend getaway. Beautiful walks around the area and close enough to the town centre. We would love to visit them again sometime :)

Amazing secluded location right on the river. We loved the remote get away and the property was truly spectacular. Even though we stayed during a major storm we couldn't have had a better time on the property and exploring the gardens. Only 20 minutes from town it was still easy to access groceries and restaurants but we felt a world away from city chaos. We would love to visit Magic Cottage again !

We had a fantastic time spending a couple of nights down at the River House. In particular, what stood out was the peaceful setting, the sense of being away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and the beautiful country landscape as an idyllic backdrop. If you’re looking to recharge your batteries and reconnect with nature, or if you’re just after a chance getaway for the weekend then I highly recommend this place as an option! Thanks for having us - hope to be back again soon 😊
