Waterfront holiday rentals in Rockley Beach

My partner and I stayed for a week in Jess’s apartment, whilst I surfed and remote worked from the UK and close to my partners home in Oistins. Jess’s cosy apartment was just what we were looking for, private, quiet, comfortable and with lots of outside living space. The breeze blows through all the open shutters making it nice and cool and we enjoyed dinners in the garden and afternoon naps in the hammock. The apartment is a 5 minute walk from Freights Bay to surf and 20 minute walk to Miami Beach and Oistins for the shops and places to eat. Jess was the highlight of the trip giving us loads of great recommendations and an all round great host and person. We will definitely be keeping in touch and saying again!

Miles and Karen looked after us well. There were small issues (there always are) and they dealt with them promptly and with understanding. The area and the unit are charming. Private access to the beach below is a great benefit. It is just off a road that is busy during the day. Whilst there is traffic noise we did not find that disturbing and did not interfere with our sleep. We appreciated the sizeable fridge freezer, the cooker that worked and plentiful kitchen equipment. The nearest supermarket is Jordan’s within 100 meters, mostly for basics. Holetown has a Massy’s store which is much better. Bus ride 15 minutes. Also more restaurants there to choose from. There is the Carlton store in the other direction. More choice than at Jordan’s. Again, 15 mins by bus. Off the sandy beach in the water there are rocks you find underfoot. Miles has provided rubber socks to protect your feet just in case. Within minutes is the Bikini Beach Club and that is a great asset.

The view is out of this world. Great restaurants nearby and you simply cannot beat walking out straight into the ocean to surf. Hundreds of sea turtles and the most beautiful water you've ever seen. Would love to return one day.

This is an excellent place to stay on the west coast of the island, exactly as described. The view is outstanding with the beach at your doorstep. The apartment is very nice, comfortable beds, nice living room, fully equipped kitchen. Lots of recent upgrades! Easy access to the bus to get to places along the coast. Lots of nice outdoor spaces, with sofas and a table, all under a shelter. The barbecue is great to have as well and a grocery store just across the street. The beach out front is rocky so would recommend some water shoes. The hosts answered all our questions and helped us get a taxi back to the airport. You should have no hesitation to stay here!

Lovely 2 bedroom/2 bath unit within the Glitter Bay property. The unit is under new ownership since we stayed there in March 2019 and its been completely and very well renovated since our last visit. White floors and comfy white living room and patio furniture, well equipped kitchen, nice bathrooms, good washer and dryer — everything felt and looked clean and well maintained. Only downside is that there is only one tv in the unit, in the living room; with older children traveling with us, it would have been nice if the bedrooms had televisions and the one in the living room had been a bit bigger. The unit has a nice view of the property and a peak of the ocean from the wonderful enormous covered terrace. There was housekeeping everyday but Sundays and they did an excellent job. For those who haven’t stayed at Glitter Bay before, the property is on one end of a lovely 1/2 mile white crescent beach with relatively calm waters — think snorkeling vs. boogie boarding. Lots of water activities (jet skis, sailing, kayaking) are easily available or can be arranged at the Fairmont. A small bar/restaurant is on site during the day and there is a beach attendant who provides beach/pool towels and, with your input, assigns you lounge chairs for your stay so there is no need to run down to the beach early in the day to put your stuff on beach chairs to “reserve” them; there are also plenty of umbrellas at the beach to provide shade during the heat to the day. For those who like swimming pools, there is a good sized pool for laps and kids to play in as well as a nice kiddie pool. Next door is the very high end Fairmont Royal Pavilion. While not cheap, they have a good restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner which overlooks the ocean. Farther down the beach is the Lonestar Hotel and Restaurant. It also serves a lovely breakfast, lunch and dinner by the beach but is a bit fancier than the restaurant at the Fairmont and quite pricy. It is easy to walk about a mile or take the public bus/drive/taxi into Holetown. There is a very well stocked Massey’s Supermarket, for those who need supplies and/or want to cook while staying at Glitter Bay, as well as a liquor store. Limegrove shopping center has a number of upscale show and restaurants. Good restaurants in Holetown include Nishi, The Mews, and Fusion Rooftop, with Paul Owen’s Beach House just outside of town. The area around Glitter Bay is relatively low density and low key compared to the areas closer to Bridgetown or Oistens. We really love it and hope to go back to Barbados and stay at Glitter Bay #207 again next year.

Highly recommend! Jo the host is phenomenal and went above and beyond to ensure our stay went well. She was very quick to respond and provided so many great recommendations for us. We could not have asked for a better host. The area is wonderful, we were very comfortable the entire time, and we had everything you would want. Bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, patio are all great! Very clean and super spacious. Jo’s extra efforts would make me feel beyond comfortable staying here again with my family or in any other listing she had. Thank you Jo!

We loved this tastefully decorated and restful Villa and have already booked it for next year. Chanel and her team were so helpful, proactive and caring. She even came to our rescue when our flight was cancelled and we needed to extend the stay. Pool was lovely and quiet and the people we met around Schooner Bay were very friendly. Can’t wait to come back!

We really enjoyed Glitter Bay. It was very peaceful and has a great beachfront. Swimming can be a bit rocky right on the property, but with access to the Fairmont Beach Club that is no problem. The service down at the bar and restaurant was friendly and accommodating. On our last night we had cocktails at the edge of the beach and watched a beautiful sunset--very memorable. The rooms have lots of space and the kitchen is serviceable. My only complaint would be that some of the finishes are not done as well as they could be (e.g., it is a tight squeeze to get into the cupboard with the safe and some of the cupboards aren't mounted that well). The location is great and you can walk into Holetown easily. It took me 3 days to realize there was a Fitness Centre, but once I did that was great. It is small but has everything I needed. Our cleaner, Margarita, was outstanding! She did an amazing job every day and was lovely to deal with. We would definitely return.

Lex’s place had it all. There is a beautiful beach right outside the back door, it’s walkable to a grocery store, several cafes and bars and the Friday fish fry. We also could grab busses right outside the house to get to Bridgetown for more beaches and restaurants. Walking around felt safe (well lit) but of course be aware of your surroundings and the cars wiz by so be aware of where the sidewalks are. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space. We loved how there were lots of towels and pillows! The only thing to prepare for is that the second bedroom gets traffic noise so maybe bring earplugs if you’re sleeping in that room.

Turtle Reef has been my lengthy stay in Barbados for many years. We refer to it as our home from home. The decor is totally my taste and is totally conducive to why it suits myself and my special needs daughter. John and Shirley are the perfect hosts.

Salty toes is unbelievable!, and it's a must visit! From the cleanliness of the house itself to the sandy beach coming right up to the outdoor seating area, simply amazing! It's one of those places that's quiet and off the main street but it has everything on its doorstep! lovely bars, restaurants, food courts, lovely boardwalks etc it has it all.. the house was spotless, fully stocked with everything you could imagine. Big cooker, big fridge freezer/ washing/ dryer facilities. Salty toes has ample space for families. Two big seating areas inside for eating at, and then the outdoor area just has to be seen! Amazing! All 3 bedrooms were huge, crisp clean linen and all beds with memory foam mattresses! We'll definitely be back to Salty Toes, home away from home. I'd be giving this place 20/10! Top Class Chloe, keep up the good work!

We had a fabulous 2 week stay at La Canoa. With 6 of us there was plenty of space and we loved hanging out in the garden and on the veranda. We especially enjoyed the wildlife in the garden and the direct beach access. The kitchen was great, fully equipped and clean. Chris was a great host and swiftly responded to any questions we had. Having never visited Barbados before we could not have asked for more. La Cabane, the closest restaurant to La Canoa, serves the best food in a perfect location. (walking distance) We loved being by the harbour and rum distillery, there was something quite unique about this location. I would recommend hiring a car if you are staying here although we used the buses, we also explored further afield to the East and South coast Thank you Chris for providing such a wonderful place to stay in Barbados.

My family and I just returned from a wonderful week stay visiting family in Barbados. We have stayed at Seagaze before and honestly, you just can’t beat the location! Everything was great and we always always feel at home. We will definitely be back again!

What an absolutely perfect holiday my family and I had. I would strongly urge whoever reads this to go ahead and book. Being located on a quiet beach with two fantastic bars on it, we had a great time. If you chose you can have three meals a day prepared for you, by a lovely lady that has worked at the property for over 25 years. If not there are many great bars and restaurants within a short drive and in some cases a short walk. There’s a security guard at night as well as a cleaner there in the day. The house it lovely, it’s got a very authentic feel about it. It could do with a little bit of TLC however the location of the property makes up for it. My only complaint would be that the Wi-Fi was unusable, so if you’re planning on working on your holiday then the beach bar next door has good internet or alternatively purchase a good mobile data plan.

We absolutely loved Barbados, and our stay at the Blue Door Beach House greatly contributed to our enjoyment! The location is unmatched! Being right by a beautiful beach and also right by lots of happening nightlife was ideal for our group's preferences, and we rightly took advantage of both! Since I was celebrating my birthday, I took the master bedroom, and it was perfect for me! The bed was comfortable, and I loved that it the room has a full length mirror and its own TV. The place is very well stocked with supplies for the beach, including a large number of towels and a washer and dryer for laundry as well. I would definitely stay at Blue Door Beach House again on a future visit to Barbados!

Great location by the coast. 5 minute walk from St. Lawrence Gap and the beach. Supermarket 5-10 minute walk. Good restaurants nearby. Complex is very safe and the apartment itself was amazing. Everything you need for your stay.

We had an incredible experience at the Sapphire Beach Condo in Barbados! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a lovely welcome basket with a bottle of rum punch and local snacks. We were also greeted by a beautiful ocean view. The condo had everything we could possibly need. It was stocked better than most homes! There were so many thoughtful touches, like a fully stocked laundry room, good quality hair dryer, Bluetooth speaker and Alexa. We rented a car from across the street which was very convenience but if you need a taxis we recommend Anderson who is across from the property. We used him to go to the airport. My son realized he left his expensive camera in the car rental. We called Anderson and he retrieved the camera for us. That kind of kindness and reliability is rare. We were beyond grateful. All in all, this was a great vacation rental. The attention to detail, hospitality, and thoughtful extras made our trip unforgetable. We highly recommend Sapphire Beach Condo.

Saudia is an amazing host that is responsive, helpful, and proactive. This was the easiest check in and check our process that I have ever experienced through Airbnb. Her beautiful property was everything I could have ever imagined and more. Her recs and attention to detail only elevated the trip.

Kevin was warm, welcoming and kind. He met us as we arrived from the airport and was very generous with some little ‘welcome’ items for us to enjoy as well as some local recommendations. The apartment is beautiful with a great size balcony directly overlooking the ocean with access to a lovely pool & steps down to the beach. The rooms were clean and we had plenty of spare towels and linen for the beds which was great. Cleaning products supplied but we replaced what we used to ensure the next guests had some :) Overall, we had an amazing holiday and Kevin checked in on us to ensure all was OK - a nice touch! He’s also very responsive which is always reassuring! For anyone visiting - Would really recommend the street food market behind the gas station opposite the apartment - some great food in there. If you’re into breakfast, try out ‘park cafe’ in its own little haven behind massy store - GREAT food. To summarise - THANK YOU, Kevin - we will 100% be back!!

This was our first time in Barbados and this property made for a great trip. We would definitely stay there again. Great location right in the middle of all the St Lawrence Gap action and restaurants, but still felt secluded and private when on property. We were greeted at the location when we arrived and given a thorough walk through of the property as well as local recommendations. If you are looking for a place to stay on the south coast look no further!

We had a lovely and relaxing stay at Maxwell Beach Villas! Yonette was an excellent host- always prompt in answering our questions. We were welcomed with rum punch and fresh rum cake! The pictures accurately describe the layout of condo and it was extremely clean and neat upon arrival . The view of the ocean and pool really blew us away, we never got tired of sitting on the terrace and enjoying the ocean view. It is important, though, to mention that the beach directly in front of the property is much smaller than shown in the pictures. I do wish the photos were more accurate to the current state of the beach. There is a large amount of seaweed there as well. For this reason we didn’t use the beach directly on the property but luckily it’s a short drive to many gorgeous beaches which we enjoyed throughout the week. The condo is also situated near many restaurants and stores. Our children loved the pool on the property and swam every day. Overall this was a very relaxing vacation!

GREAT location - direct access to private beach - we saw a turtle swimming our last day and spent 15 mins following it.. was so cool. Paynes beach is actually where the Catamarans stop to see the turtles and swim. Lots of really nice restaurants around too.
