Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Rio Frio

We stayed a week at the river hollow retreat. We got lucky recent rains had the river over a two feet high in most places the fist couple of days. The property was beautiful and if you want peace and seclusion with no other people in site this is a great option. We had a 5 yo boy and a dog and never did we worry about where they went in the river. The location is great close to anything you may need but far enough away from kerrville to feel you are in total seclusion. The hosts were great and very tentative to your needs if they arise. My family will go back to the river hollow retreat.

Oh my goodness! This is one of our favorite stays ever! My husband and I love to go somewhere quiet where we can just enjoy our time with the littles and each other. Well this hit the nail on the head for everything we wanted. The location and the river were incredible. The water was sooo pretty and was not too deep where the house is. However, there are many deeper, cool swimming holes on the trails that we enjoyed too. The house is a quaint little cabin that is perfect for where it is. Our little kids had so much fun in every aspect. We floated, hiked, snorkeled, fish, and swam swam swam! It’s near a little town but don’t expect a lot of people or anything. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place this is the spot. Alan was amazing and communicated everything we needed to know. We will definitely be booking again in the future.

This place absolutely exceeded all our expectations! The cabins were fantastic, and the sunset views from the hot tub were truly unforgettable. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, the living room offered plenty of space to relax, and the beds were very comfortable. The host was exceptional—responsive, easy to work with, and made sure we had everything we needed for an amazing trip. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be returning!

The one night stay made me want to stay longer. The place was peaceful and very clean. Thank you for the perfect stay.

Rooms with a View! Incredible views off the deck of this 2 bedroom house...in fact I wanted to just stay out there all the time! It was gorgeous! Very private home at the top of the hill country, with views as far as you could see. Simply breathtaking and relaxing!! The rooms were all exactly as described...and all were clean and in perfect condition. The kitchen had everything you could need to cook, and had fantastic stove/oven, dishwasher, and microwave. It's a beautiful space that pulls the whole living room and kitchen into one, and with the patio and the view, it makes it seem even bigger!! We loved the deck...and I would definitely love to come back here. The instructions on how to enter thru the gate were very helpful and specific, and it made it easy to get in and enter the home. Close to Comfort, and not far at all into Fredericksburg. You will love this place if you go!!

We had an amazing time at this house in Kerrville. The photographs of this house just don’t do it justice - It’s even better in person. The location is 10 minutes max from town and has the most lovely views from the backyard. The kitchen has everything you need to make meals from scratch- probably the best equipped kitchen we’ve ever had in a vacation rental. The beds are very comfortable. The living space was roomy and had such interesting artwork. The back porch was a delight to sit out on any time of day. The pool was a little chilly the weekend we were there but that’s just because a big storm system had gone through the night before. We still had a fun afternoon in the pool. If you are not there in the height of summer and want to swim, you might want to consider paying to heat the pool- but remember that you need to do that in advance. We would highly recommend this rental home and hope to return.

The house is nice and cozy. you immediately feel at home, the lake is very low. there's no way to swim in it. if you're looking to walk around and have a hiking adventure then you're in luck at Pebble Creek Park. there's nice restaurants and bars and around Dollar general is about 4. Melissa has great communication skills, we really enjoyed the pool that has a gazebo over the top of it and a barbecue pit right next to it. overall we had an amazing time, it was quiet and we were able to hang out, relax and have a great time. they had plenty of supplies inside for us as well. as in towels, toilet paper, soaps and etc. Overall, it was very worth it

Jairo’s was very clean, well stocked and well taken care of. The view and breeze made for a wonderful stay. His photos do not do it justice. 10/10! Thank you for opening your beautiful home to us.

We absolutely loved our stay. Didn’t get to see the stars because it was storming at night, but the place was amazing.

We definitely enjoyed our stay! The decor/style was very trendy & cute. The beds were oh so comfy! We loved having the cowboy pool & hot tub. A beautiful space outdoors to hang out & relax. We would definitely recommend!

Great peaceful quiet place love the atmosphere very peaceful. I can’t emphasize on beautiful and relaxing.

Even before we step foot inside, Danielle was the most incredible host. She was very communicative, flexible and accommodating. The place itself is incredible! The pool is gorgeous and the photos don’t really do it justice, there was also a working hot tub. The kitchen is excellent and equipped with everything you would need and there’s also a grill. I totally Loss over the fact that there is an incredible soaking tub on the top floor! The top four bathroom is huge, and the perfect place for a group of girlfriends or a family to get ready together. Everything about this place was wonderful and I will actually be coming back again someday because I loved it that much.

They stay was amazing. We had everything we needed and it was absolutely spotless. I would recommend this to everyone. The host is the perfect example of a great host.

We left our home after Hurricane Beryl and no electricity Kelli was very helpful in letting us check in early. We almost didn’t make the trip and she was already asking us about changing dates. Highly recommend staying here or other places Kelli has

Relaxing and peaceful stay with views outside every window. The saltwater pool was refreshing after some time in the sauna…(comfy robes provided) what a treat! Able to walk the property (the hill is a doable work out) and enjoy the sounds of nature and new view scapes. My dog loved it with a fenced yard! Mostly put my feet up, read, and relaxed…even though there are so many options for playing games or catching up on movies with tvs available in almost every room. Definitely a destination for anyone wanting a peaceful getaway or large family reunions with something for everyone. So special to truly feel like I was in the heart of the hill country but with all the amenities and close to the lovely town of Fredericksburg. Hope to make Galaxy View a regularly retreat.

Right on the water, easy to Find, great place for a family!

Our whole family loved the Nueces Oasis. Was very peaceful and the kids had a great time in the water. Will definitely book again.

Our stay at Betty's Airbnb was perfect and location is great. The pet friendly aspect was the biggest highlight for us. The pups had room to run and play and expend all of their energy. The only caveat is that the property is very close to Ranch Rd. 337 which is a busy road, and is not fenced off, so do not expect dogs to free range unless they have superb recall or E-collars. The kitchen is well equipped, the home very clean, and the the front and back outdoor space is very nice. It would be great to have a gate closing off the front porch for kids or pups but we did fine. Also a door closing off the upstairs bedroom for privacy would be ideal, but again, we had no problem with it. Our only challenge was the rude "Karen" neighbor who owns the land between the home and the river, so river access is not as easy as it could have been and they claimed to also control who swims in the public waterway in front of their home. Despite that, we had a blast and highly recommend.

This was the perfect getaway. A beautiful home surrounded by hills all around and the creek make this place a desirable place to visit. We enjoyed the peaceful environment and loved just being outdoors the whole time 10/10 recommend!

Cabin fit most of our needs. Peaceful surroundings with lots of wild turkeys and deer. We found 3 different water areas that were enjoyable…1 is walking distance and about 3ft in depth at its deepest, other 2 are a very short driving distance and about the same depth at the deepest. Kitchen has basic items so bring additional seasonings/baking sheets/etc if you plan on doing a lot of cooking. Blanca was quick to respond to all of my questions. The cabin is on a ranch with other homes surrounding it but you won’t even notice; all you hear are the birds and deers calling.

We loved our stay. Had everything we neaded in the house. Very comfortable & cozy. Loved the peacefulness & serenity of it. Was a little further out than we anticipated from anywhere but was told that in advance. The wildlife was awesome. The kids loved the outdoor shower. Definitely recommend to others.

This place is exactly as listed. Very secluded but not too far from all the downtown shops of bandera Texas. We were lucky to be the only ones on the property for most of our 5 night stay. Ellen was super friendly and very clear with instructions and communicated with us throughout all of our questions and needs. The sunsets here were magical and we were also able to star gaze on some of the clear nights. Our two dogs enjoyed themselves to the fullest during our trips to the creek. Some recommendations if you’re bringing a dog, be mindful there are plants that have stickies that can get stuck in the fur. We had some issues with our toy poodles and mini Aussie getting a lot of stickies. Luckily the tractor supply less than 3 min away had a do it yourself dog washing station for $9.99. The summer days are hot so spending time at the bandera park or at the creek at the property was a great way to beat the heat. We loved our stay and hope to come back!

We had a wonderful stay. We felt like we were able to unplug and enjoy the lakes and hiking trails. The home itself was clean and comfortable. We had a great time!
