Beach house holiday rentals in Rio del Mar

We loved our time here and wished we could have stayed longer. The location is so serene and peaceful, but just a short (beautiful!) walk to all of the action. The house is well stocked with everything you could need. Terri is a great communicator. We would highly recommend and hope to return!

Had an amazing time this weekend! Location was quiet and a quick walk to the beach. The home had everything we needed from cooking utensils and a BBQ pit, to a highchair along with toddler spoons/folks, games to play and so much more. It was clean, inviting and a definite must! Thanks for being responsive to all of my questions.

I feel so lucky to have been able to spend 2 nights in this awesome cottage!!! It was my second time in Capitola and I didn’t really understand what Lawn Way was when I booked it. I was so excited when I realized that we would be staying one of these cute colorful historical cottages! Cottage was so clean, comfortable and described exactly. I loved learning about the family history of this cottage... Makes me feel so lucky to have been able to stay here. Bed was super comfy. Super cute inside. Location is unbeatable. The lawn was plush and so nice to lounge on. Perfect!

Property is Spotless inside and outside. Love how clean the bathrooms are! Kitchen was lovely with the retro feel and easy to find things! Beautiful backyard! Overall, I love the house This place is bright and clean! We will be back!!

We loved staying in Susanne’s place. It felt so homey and welcoming. We especially loved the family photos and real live plants. 😊 It’s in a great location with easy access to the beauty of Santa Cruz’s nature.

Beautiful location and beautiful home. Nice kitchen, living room, very spacious. The private parking spot was a fantastic bonus so close to the village.

We had two families with young kiddos and Kate's place was perfect for our weekend stay. The driveway is a bit narrow, and the street you enter from can be busy due to beach traffic, but it's totally worth the effort. Once you're in the Kate's Airbnb, you feel comfortable and relaxed, with the beach and the ocean visible from the front of the house and the front yard that was perfect for the kiddos to hangout in. Kate was super responsive and incredibly pleasant and made our stay as comfortable as can be. We love visiting Santa Cruz and will definitely keep Kate's beach house on our list of places to stay the next time we're in town!

This place was exactly what my family needed for our beach getaway! The layout of the house is so cozy and it felt like a home away from home. The 180’ of ocean views was truly amazing. We watched a pod of humpback whales go back and forth throughout the day and got to watch a feeding frenzy of thousands of birds all from the balcony! We drove 20 minutes to Henry Cowell Redwoods State park and walked around Pacific Ave in Santa Cruz. From the spot we walked to the beach (with all our boogie boards, sand toys, towels, umbrella, etc.), took advantage of Venus’ happy hour and really didn’t need to use our car for two days! This will definitely be a spot we stay at again!

Beautiful location. House is amazing. One afternoon a family of 3 owls were resting on the house roof. We saw a dolpine swim by, courtesy of the excellent binoculars provided by the house owners and lots of wildlife in the really colourful sand dunes. Very happy to recommend.

The heated pool and hot tub were the focus of this very successful vacation. There were 8 of us: a family of 4 from Oakland, (Mama, Papa, girl 7, girl 3), from Chicago - a couple 37 & 40, and from Martha's Vineyard, us, 75 & 79. The 3 bathrooms were great, and the kitchen was well equipped. We ordered out mostly, from Hawaiian and Mexican restaurants. We spent a day on the boardwalk, and another on the trail at Wilder Ranch, where cliffs overlook ledges with MANY sunning sea lions, The house is easy walking distance from a couple of beaches. During our winter stay, there were high tides, wind and surf warnings. The views were spectacular. Also instructive. The father took his daughters an early morning walk; they saw a woman swept from the beach across the pavement. She had bloody knees, but was otherwise fine, but she and her two equally insane friends came off the beach. I hope the girls will remember this vivid lesson when they grow up to be invulnerable teenagers. Doubt it.

Wonderful host and an ideal place in a very quiet neighborhood with friendly and helpful neighbors. The provided area guides and home instructions were extremely helpful and the provided beach supplies were ideal to keep our personal packing nice and light! Would definitely stay here again ⛱️👍🌊

It was beautiful, private, and a hidden gem! We had lots of fun and enjoyed all the views throughout the house. The house is even better than the pictures. We had our 2 boys, had plenty to do between the beach, books, basketball, spa, ping pong, and games! We definitely recommend and would go back! Not to mention I love artichokes and this house is located in artichoke city!! So amazing!! 10/10 you won’t be disappointed!

Outstanding location and great condo. Condo was just as advertised. It was clean and very comfortable. Cheshire Realty was easy to deal with.

My family of 6 stayed here when we attended my son’s graduation from UCSC. It was absolutely perfect. It had enough rooms for everyone and plenty of extra linens and towels. Because we were on the go so much, celebrating the graduation and Father’s Day the next day, we couldn’t take advantage of all of the amenities like the hot tub and the bicycles. However, the spa bath tub and shower with the steam option in the master bedroom was amazing! We definitely enjoyed that. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to prepare some meals. The surrounding area was absolutely beautiful! We would love to book Denise’s property again when we visit Aptos! I highly recommend it!

The house is in a great location, close to the boardwalk, beach, shopping, and restaurants. Very comfortably fit our group of eight. The hot tub was very relaxing, we enjoyed making s’mores in the fire pit, and took many trips to the beach on the bikes. The hosts responded quickly and were very friendly as well, would definitely recommend staying here!

From the beginning everything went very smooth, the owner was responsive friendly and very clear with instructions. As you enter the house immediately you know it’s unique and special. The living room and dinning room face the ocean and can be viewed from the big window, perfectly setting the Beach house mood. The kitchen is huge with stainless steel appliances and all the utensils. The house has 3 bathrooms each one with its beautifully unique decor. The 2 bedrooms upstairs were very spacious and the beds were comfortable. Both had oversized windows overlooking the ocean. You could hear the ocean and the waves breaking allowing to naturally be relaxed. The balcony was breath taking, we had an impeccable view of the ocean with perfect sunrises and sunsets. The coziness and relaxation of this Beach House make you fall in love with it and wanting more. The owner was very thoughtful and provided lots of good amenities as well. Giving you the feeling of a five star resort.

We were impressed by how clean the house was. It was a great location to walk to some restaurants and the coast. We parked one van street side and one van in the driveway as it was really tight to get out of the car on one area of the drive. There were chairs, bikes, and beach towels available. We didn’t get a chance to use the hot tub or fire pit. Wish we had more time there. We had one issue but Veronica was quick to reply and resolve it. We would stay again!

This was the perfect weekend getaway for me and my classmates! The whole process was easy and the house was the perfect place to recharge! Definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing and beautiful getaway! Thank you!

The location of John's place was awesome - was able to walk to the beach, get ice cream, and coffee in the morning. Right next to the freeway, so it was super quick and easy to travel to other places nearby, like Santa Cruz.

This is my second year renting. Kim’s place works well for my little family. We loved access to boogie boards. Just perfect for my 6 year old granddaughter who tried it for the first time. Also used a couple of beach chairs. I don’t remember them at my past stay.
