Absolutely loved my stay here, wish I could come back every weekend, owning something like this is a dream!

We had a great time. The house was the perfect size for us. The view of the lake was very beautiful. Sandy was amazing to work with and answered all of our questions about the area and places to eat.

This is my second time staying here and it was just as peaceful. I look forward to our next visit.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful 3-bedroom beach house at 401 Admiral Drive in Gun Barrel City, TX. The property is perfect for a family getaway — our group of 10 stayed comfortably for two days and had an amazing experience. The house was clean, well-maintained, and had everything in great working condition. The backyard is truly a highlight — spacious and peaceful with direct access to the water, a fishing dock, and a beach volleyball setup. We also enjoyed water sports right from the property, which made it even more special. The owner, Shinu, was extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay. You can tell they really care about the guest experience. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing, fun, and family-friendly escape. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Great stay with the family! The house was just like the pictures clean, cozy, and with a beautiful view. The kitchen had everything we needed, and there were fun games for the kids. Only downside was the outdoor grill and furniture, which needed cleaning before use. Overall, a great experience!

Great vacation! The pool is much larger than appears in the photos - our family of 4 enjoyed it very much several times. Right on the lake with lots to do - canoes provided. We had a lovely time and will definitely remember this location for future Gun Barrel City vacations. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay at Selah’s Place in Athens, TX! This cozy 2-bedroom villa was the perfect getaway for our family. The home was well-equipped with everything we needed—from comfortable beds and beautiful bathrooms to a fully stocked kitchen with a French press, Keurig coffee maker (with plenty of pods!), and a fridge/freezer that made ice. The outdoor furniture on both levels was a great touch for relaxing mornings or evenings. It was also incredibly convenient to have a washer and dryer on-site, along with cleaning supplies and laundry detergent provided. A true home away from home! Our grandkids had the time of their lives fishing and releasing fish and feeding the turtles—they’re still talking about it! Selah’s Place offered not only comfort but also some great memory-making experiences for the whole family. Highly recommend staying here, and we will definitely be back!

Our stay was amazing! Ngan was extremely responsive and accommodating. The house is clean, cozy and well equipped with everything we could possibly need. The kitchen had all the essentials such as cookware, spices, coffee, tea and even small appliances like a rice cooker and an air fryer. There were plenty of fresh towels, extra pillows, blankets, toiletries, laundry supplies, and thoughtful extras. One of the highlights of our trip was the access to kayaks and being able to fish right from the property. It was such a fun and peaceful experience. We would definitely come back

If you’re looking for a nice, quiet, peaceful stay then this is the place. The host was more than accommodating for all of my stay. Anything that needed to be taken care of she got it done and quickly. Everything was clean and nicely organized. Instructions were clear and she even provided a few snacks to get me started. There are gas stations, stores, restaurants and even local parks close to the area. It’s a cozy place with lots of charm. I will absolutely be booking again. Blanca is super friendly and will surely earn the title of super host in the near future.

This is a perfect little guest house, very clean, lots of amenities to choose from. Host responded within 10-15 minutes when needed. Great location, easy to find and a short distance to town and First Monday Grounds. Highly recommend H&J Guesthouse.

I’m so glad we went. It was one of our best weekend trips. Needed some peace and quiet. The property was well maintained and they really made us feel at home. Constantly making sure we had all we needed. We got to see their homestead and the beautiful craftsmanship and love that Doug had put into their home. It’s a place that you can go and spend some quality time with God and be near His beautiful country. We really feel like we made some great friends and will definitely return again. We originally went there to go to canton first Monday. Honestly we were only at Canton for around maybe 1 1/2hrs and spent the remainder at Connie and Doug’s place. It was so much fun staying in the studio apartment above the barn, just like in heartland! Thanks again for great conversations and friendship! Go check it out you won’t be disappointed!!

The upstairs cottage was everything we needed and more! Russell and Nancy were beyond friendly and welcoming! Everything inside was so clean and comfortable! Outside was beautiful, between the garden, hot tub, and pool it was stunning. There was even the sweetsweetest little garden watcher cat that made friends as well. The next time we're in Ennis this will definitely be a repeat booking for us! We came down to go to the Motorplex and it was also right down the road conveniently located around local shops and food!

I really liked staying at the house for a month. It’s in middle of the woods, more private, there’s patio that you can sit and put up guard to let your dogs hang out in the patio. The shower is wonderful, one of the best shower ever. It’s really small, but it’s doable for one person with a dog or two. It’s a good place to get away. I can live in anywhere and I would stay here again.

This space is super cute, with accessibility to all the things in downtown Ennis. Will be back!

Beautiful location on the lake, communicative host, comfortable condo! I will recommend to family & friends.

We brought our two young children to this condo for a long weekend and it exceeded our expectations. It was super easy to check in and the condo was so welcoming and clean! We felt like we were staying at a friends house instead of a rental the whole time. It was very cozy. We endured a pretty serious storm while we were there and never lost power even though that storm was wicked! The pool was absolutely fabulous. We barely were out of it. The harbor restaurant next-door has some of the best food we’ve ever had. We tried tons of stuff on their menu and it was all so delicious. The beds were comfortable and did I mention how clean it was?! Melissa was wonderful and was only a text away the whole time. The only thing I would make sure of is the elevators working. They were semi functional during our stay and we made do, but it was difficult. It would be hard if not impossible for elderly people or some others to physically get by without the elevators. Absolutely will be back!
