This is my 2nd stay at Vicki’s. I love the Victorian home she grew up in. It like stepping back in time and the surround area, farmlands, and towns are lovely to explore. Easy access from major road yet feels off the beaten path. I highly recommend staying here. I will be back.

Staying at the Green Farm is truly a joyful and must-have experience when in the Troy area. John is an exceptional host, providing meticulous care and attention not only to his guests but to the home itself. From the beginning, you are welcomed by beautiful greyhounds and a thoughtful host who prepares the most delicious breakfast! I stayed in the John Waters room, which was amazing—very eclectic, remarkably clean, and the perfect little nook to rest after scouting around town. Whether you’re there for work or leisure, all the amenities provided are top-notch. I definitely will be going back, dreaming of another little getaway!

Susan was a wonderful host! Even if I was out and about the whole weekend, she made herself available when I had questions, provided suggestions for cities to visit around North Chatham. The house is beautiful and peaceful, a heaven for birdwatchers and nature lovers!

As the other reviews have mentioned, John is a beyond excellent host!!! And very responsive! He is also very knowledgeable and helpful regarding shops and restaurants in Troy. Nigel and Margaret (John’s greyhounds) are also very good companions at this Inn! The decor in the rooms and in the shared rooms and hallways is just beautiful and very interesting! And he serves delicious homemade breakfast! With alfresco dining as an option in the warmer weather.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I found the inn last minute and couldn’t have been more pleased. The place is gorgeous and clean. John is the most kind and gracious host, and breakfast was delicious. We stayed because we had a concert in Saratoga Springs. What a beautiful and comfortable place to come home to for the night. We hope our adventures bring us to Troy again soon.

We could not have loved the Gardner Farm Inn and John more! Everything was perfect - both our air-conditioned bedroom and bathroom were spacious, beautifully appointed, and extremely clean. The king-sized bed in our room was deliciously comfortable and quiet. Our breakfast was sumptuous and delectable. John is a delight, and went out of his way to accommodate our arrival. His two dogs are the sweetest, gentlest creatures imaginable. And you will fall in love with the 1790's era house and its amazing collection of curios. Highly recommend staying here - it's a real treat!

He adds thoughtful touches to your stay and is very accommodating. Relaxing music plays in the background downstairs, making sitting in the living room with a glass of wine and cheese very inviting. Not to mention the food! John truly spoils his guests with a delicious breakfast. If you didn't know it, you would think you're the only guests in the inn just by the special treatment you receive. Staying at the Gardner Farm Inn was a perfect way to spend Valentine's weekend, yet something tells me a stay here is special any time of the year.

Second time staying with Charles and I will continue returning on my annual trip. Lovely host, both rooms have been great and just what I needed after driving all day. Well appointed rooms, great bathrooms and stellar showers on both stays. Nice small breakfast in the morning as well, usually with nice pastries from the local Italian bakery! Well worth a stay if you are in the area of just passing through as I am. Thanks you, Charles!

The inn was beautiful inside, the door to enter is down a little brick paved alley so it is set back from the street, which is very nice. The street itself is still a work in progress. There is still a lot of fixing up going on so it may seem a bit disconcerting, but step inside the inn and all your worries will melt away. It was quiet (because it is set back from the street) and very clean, beautiful and comfortable. We had a great night's sleep and a lovely breakfast the next morning: nice yogurts, fresh fruit and granola, juice and tea and coffee and muffins, fresh from a bakery that morning! We will certainly stay there again when we visit our son at RPI!

Anita was friendly, hospitable and thoughtful. Her place is well curated for guests. The bathroom and bedroom is impeccable with a lot of thought into the comfort of those staying. The home is in a lovely neighborhood and within 10 minutes drive of the city center. We enjoyed our stay.
