Peaceful and private, this large 720 sq ft loft studio is a charming, comfy getaway. During the day go hiking or just relax on the deck overlooking the stream. At night open the windows and let soothing nature sounds lull you to sleep. Just 11 miles from Harrisonburg. Internet, Netflix. A meditative retreat and home base from which to explore the area.
“Omi's Stream Side Guesthouse was completely wonderful! It is located in the most gorgeous area - basically inside the GW National Forest! There is a lovely stream running right next to the house. There are several beautiful trails that you can walk to right near the house. There are also some swimming holes right near by! (In fact, on our last day - we discovered that if you walk to the gravel road from the guesthouse, make a right, and walk down to the end of the road just 3 minutes, you arrive at a lovely swimming hole, and the beginning of a trail!). The guesthouse had everything we were looking for - a relaxing quiet space, all kind of cookware for making food, an AC unit that was helpful for cooling down the space on the hot summer evenings, and a lovely shower with warm water - great for taking showers after hikes in the area. Omi left us a ton of great food items to enjoy - cereal, coffee, milk, sugar, salt, spices, cooking oil, and farm fresh eggs! Since we came in the middle of the pandemic and were not planning on going out to eat too much, we did some cooking in the guesthouse, and all of these items were so helpful. We were such a close drive to so many wonderful hikes in the GW National Forest. The guesthouse is also a very quick drive to Harrisonburg, where we were able to pick up some groceries, and get some take out on one of the nights we were there. There was also a fantastic gas grill that we used, which was so fun to use on one of the nights we were there! Omi was extremely communicative and so helpful as we arranged our trip. Check-in and check-out was super easy. The guesthouse was extremely clean and very welcoming. We had a wonderful time, and we would definitely come back! Thank you so much Omi!”
Welcome to Old Hill Cider House! Located just steps away from the first row of Summer Rambo Apple Trees at Showalter's Orchard. The thoughtful renovation was just completed in early July. The former wash house could be a base for all your Shenandoah Valley Travels or this light airy and romantic little house is a comfortable and cozy place for your farm vacation. The kitchen is small but has all the basics, one queen bed, one bath. We look forward to making your acquaintance.
“Our stay at the Cider House was nothing short of fantastic. The place is beautifully decorated and if you're looking for a cozy, romantic getaway look no further. The property the house is on is even more stunning as you drive up onto the orchard with rolling hills of apples and peaches all around you. The cider tasting house is right on site as well, so grabbing a crisp cider is literally steps away. We went hiking (recommend Church Rock hike), went to wineries in the area and just spent days reading and playing board games with the beautiful view this stay has to offer. I could not recommend this stay more! 10/10”
Nestled in the valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this secluded Hobbit House makes the perfect private getaway.
“We weren’t expecting such a fancy hobbit house! The level of craftsmanship is amazing with high end materials and fixtures. It has the perfect amenities for a great stay, including an above and beyond kitchen stocked with yummy waffles ingredients, bottled water, yogurts, juices, oranges, coffee, tea, fresh cut flowers, and homemade kettle corn. It’s a unique space with modern amenities including usb charging ports, a rain shower and even outdoor fire pit. Marlon met us when we pulled up, gave us the lay of the land, then let us be. The quiet was blissful, but we also traveled about 30 minutes to Harrisonburg to check out the JMU arboretum and downtown dining. I’d recommend this stay to anyone—it was fantastic.”
