“This place is just stunning. The pictures do not do it justice. It is idyllic, so tranquil and peaceful and the setting is beautiful. Everything about the barn just oozes character. It is so quaint and relaxing. Beautifully positioned on Lough Swilly. We could see the waves crashing against the pier at night from the sitting room with a roaring fire beside us (which was already lit for us on arrival!! - such a nice touch). We were never wanting for anything and we got extra coal for the fire whenever needed. We also had a visitor for breakfast one of the mornings :) The lovely dog came up to say hi. She is a darling and very friendly and docile. Can highly recommend this gem to anyone. One of the most unique accommodations I’ve stayed in.”
Situated in the picturesque, Lough Swilly, this apartment sits on the edge of Fahan beach, with fantastic views of the Marina and Inch Island. It possesses its very own private pathway to the beach. It is only a 5 to 10 minute walk from very famous pubs/restaurants, such as the Firebox Grill/Railway Tavern and the Red Door as well as Lisfannon Golf Course. The Inishowen Gateway Hotel is a short drive away and the apartment is located only 10 minutes drive from Derry City.
“Rhona's apartment is so lovely, small and compact, but has everything you need and was so clean! view was excellent ! And so close to the beach to go for a walk and explore. It was easy to find and close to other shops. We didn't get to go out as the weather was bad but would love to come again when the weather is better as there is so much to see.”
En-suite room to rent with light breakfast provided. (cereals, toast, fruits and tea & coffee). Enjoy the sunset on a walk to the beach, visit the world famous Inch Wildlife Reserve with its seasonal migrating birds and resident Black Swans, visit the Grianan of Aileach ringfort, just 10 minutes away, play a round of golf at one of Inishowen's many courses or enjoy the scenic natural beauty of Inishowen by driving along the Inishowen 100 to Malin Head along the Wild Atlantic Way.
“Had a fantastic stay at Bernard's place. This is a very scenic and quiet location on Inch Island in Donegal and Bernard's house is quite spacious and spotlessly clean.. Bernard is a very friendly host and a great conversationalist. Would definitely recommend and revisit if available when I am staying in the area again. Thanks Brendan for sharing your home with me.”
