Family-friendly holiday rentals in Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui

My friend and I really appreciated Ana Maria's hospitality and her family's gorgeous home. We loved the special personal touches including the jungle of house plants and well-stocked library with board games and books. Having the fireplace stocked with wood made it possible to have the perfect ambiance for reading in front of the fire on a misty afternoon! We found it helpful to have earplugs at night, as the home is close to a transit road, and earplugs did the trick to help us sleep soundly.

Really beautiful place to stay and so easy to get to. Martin and Lorena were both really great. Would love to come back and stay here again. Kids both loved the pool.

This place is excellent and I would recommend it in a heart beat. It looks just like the pictures, it is super private and has an excellent location, walking distance to several restaurants and close to grocery shops. The instructions provided to access the place are very clear and everything was so clean and neat.

We loved our stay at Magdalena’s house. It was like a private tropical paradise and Magdalena is the perfect host. Max planned our excursions for us and was SO helpful. The house was lovely but the backyard was amazing. The house features a wrap around porch with a comfy couch and chairs and large outdoor dining table. There is a separate large outdoor kitchen area with grills, additional seating and a hot tub. The infinity pool is steps away. The view from all vantage points is breathtaking and the grounds are landscaped beautifully. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms clean with rain showers and plenty of hot water. The AC worked perfectly and kept us cool. Esmeralda came daily and even did our dishes and laundry. The house is a 40 minute drive to the Arenal area. The main roads into La Fortuna were well maintained. The drive was long but easy. Shopping was a bit of a challenge but there are local “supermarkets” and a Maxi Pali in La Fortuna. Enjoy!

A absolute privilege to spend a few days here as a family. A gem of a house that felt immediately like a home. We loved the quirks and the passion for enjoyment. Top of our price range but to us it was worth every penny. Thank you Tucker.

Another great stay at this apartment in Escazú! Everything was perfect, as always. The place is spotless, well located, and the hosts are incredibly responsive and helpful — super quick to reply and always ready to assist. Definitely a 5-star experience, highly recommended!

My husband, three-teenaged kids, and I had an amazing stay here! The condo is a great location close to the main strip for restaurants, shopping, groceries. The resort is well kept and the pool is top tier. The view from the balcony is breathtaking! The condo has washer/dryer and A/C which was necessary for our family of five. Communication with host was easy. We had an issue with water leaking from master BR’s A/C unit and Phil immediately had the issue rectified. We rented a car and drove from SJO airport, and we are so glad we did! Getting around is easier with the Waze app. It took us about 2 hours to get from SJO to condo due to afternoon traffic and about 1 hour and 15 minutes for return to airport in the early morning with less traffic. We give our stay at Anik and Phil’s a strong five star!!

We kicked off our honeymoon in Costa Rica at Axel's place for 4-nights. When we arrived, it was the evening so it was dark out. The following morning we were totally blown away by the beauty of this lovely farm! Gorgeous green trees, flowers, monsteras, & mountains are surrounding you. The view is spectacular (even when it is raining or cloudy). The house has hammocks to relax in, a kitchen equipped with everything you need to make a delicious meal, a very comfy bed, and views to die for! Toucan-spotting over coffee in the morning was a highlight. Axel was not only a great host but a lovely person to chat with! If you are looking for a more remote Costa Rican experience, this is the place for you. Highly recommend and are definitely planning to come back to this wonderful place! Thanks again Axel!!

The gardens were a wonderfully peaceful respite. It was like taking a vacation while on vacation. The room was great, as described, and even had a dehumidifier available. The property is away from the city (we were able to Uber in and out of the city without too much issue - just a delay in finding a driver one night. We loved exploring and having our morning coffee in the gardens. We didn’t meet Phil, and we weren’t able to get a gate opener for our stay, but it worked out OK with two of us (one to drive the car and the other to get out and operate the gate).

Caro + Iñi’s place was a great spot, in walkable distance to many great restaurants in Manuel Antonio! They were very helpful, giving great recommendations of local things to do! They went out of their way to make reservations for a birthday boat tour for me and referred me to an incredible surf instructor for surf lessons. They made my visit comfortable and fun!

The place is very nice and it feels a lot of peace, it is a cabin to go with family or friends since it is quite large and has everything

This house has an amazing setting. Just out of town on a hill with views over the rain forest. There is a great pool with an undercover outdoor seating area and a wonderful garden to watch the wildlife in. We spent one night sat outside after all the birds had gone to bed and watched a storm with lightning for about 3 hours. Fantastic 😁

We had an amazing time at this property! The house was incredible. The views were absolutely breathtaking and made every morning feel special. One of the most memorable moments was when a toucan came to visit us right on the property. We were lucky enough to snap some photos. Hopefully I can upload them here somehow. Everything about the stay exceeded our expectations. Ana was very responsive and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. if you are looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, this is the perfect spot. Highly recommended and would love to come back.

We had a fantastic stay! Yves was amazing, super responsive and incredibly helpful throughout our trip. The location was perfect, with easy access to beaches and great restaurants nearby. The house had a warm, homey feel and plenty of space, which was perfect for our big group. We especially loved the pool and all the thoughtful amenities. Highly recommended!

Everything was perfect! The location and the house all met our expectations. Danny & the team were always kind and approachable. When we found that wasps were building a nest at the house, the team was there within an hour and the issue was resolved immediately. The pool was clean and in the best condition. We had the best vacation and would be happy to come back!

Carlos and Val were great hosts! They had so many great recommendations for food and activities and helped with transportation. The place was beautiful as depicted in the pictures too. Very responsive if you needed to reach them.

A very unique place. The house was wonderful and the property with amenities was very relaxing. Lots of birds and Howler Monkeys to view right off the balcony. Will definately stay again.

The Property keepers Jefferson and his mom were wonderful and kind! super sweet and always helpful. amazing fish tacos, recommend having them cook for you one night. soo good!! gorgeous property and so very enjoyable. felt it was prime location for things addy los suenos adventure park, Jaco, Manuel Antonio, Quepos. Right in the middle with a relaxing place to go back to.
