Beachfront holiday rentals in Puerto Escondido

fantastic small house with tranquil and almost abandoned beach at the end of the Costa Rica, just friendly reminder, if you’re not renting the whole house owner is staying downstairs, which was not problem at all

Absolutely amazing this home is! For a surfer it’s heaven. Located near the point at Pavones it’s a short walk to an easy paddle out at the point and let the current take you the length of the wave. Also centrally located where you either walk across the river or bridge to the local town center or market and few restaurants that are in town. Loved the random dog showing up to say hi too! The property is like a jungle setting. Gorgeous! The home was big enough for my teenagers and young adult kids to roam around and feel at home. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean as well! The kitchen was perfect using gas rather than electric portable stoves too. There also was an outdoor bbq which we used almost everyday. When in the jungle surfing all day it was an absolute joy to cool off in the pool! Overall an amazing stay at this paradise of a home!!! If it’s available this sanctuary will be top of my list of places to stay in Pavones!!! Paraiso Pura vida!!!!!!!!!

We loved staying again! The location is perfect for us - both on the beautiful beach, and near the point. The house is set up just right to enjoy with friends with large gathering spaces, and still have some space of your own. We appreciate the care taken before arrival - the house is spotless, and has a homey feel with coffee and staples to get you started. Thank you for another terrific extended stay! We'll see you again!

Nos encantó el lugar estaba muy lindo y limpio y en general bien descrito. Está muy cerca de la playa y cuenta con un buen espacio para parquear. La cocina está completa, solo que no hay sal ni aceite. Tiene una linda terraza, donde compartir y comer. En la descripción no lo dice, pero solo tiene un AC, y está en la sala. Las almohadas de las camas son MUY incomodas, fue lo único que nos disgustó.

The location is great, few doors down to a supermarket and few restaurants. The property is beachfront and private. It’s more worth than what I paid for. Ana is a really nice person and eager to help. I’ll be back!

Absolutely amazing spot! We felt right at home from the moment we arrived ! The grounds were just gorgeous and full of wildlife! We loved the outdoor kitchen which is so roomy and lets you hear all the monkeys and birds! The kayaking near the place was fantastic! We had fun fishing and seeing all the mangroves! We can’t say enough good things about the hosts who cooked many delicious meals for us and were just generally amazing! Room was perfect and comfortable with great decks for looking out over the grounds! Just a wonderful experience in some of the best natural surroundings!

We stayed here for one week during our two week honeymoon. Drake bay appealed to us because of Corcovado and unspoiled natural surroundings of the Drake Bay Area. The Airbnb is in a fantastic location, situated just outside of Drake Bay. It felt very private, right on the beach. The property is beautiful, we loved being visited by scarlet macaws and white face monkeys. Our host, Alexis, was absolutely phenomenal. She helped with all our tour bookings, local recommendations and checking in each day to see if we needed anything. Alexis went above and beyond, and was the best host we’ve ever encountered. I would highly recommend staying at La Joyita, it’s a little piece of paradise that we will remember forever.

Magical and thoughtfully designed spaces in a tranquil area away from the surf crowd but just a short drive away from more populous areas if you wish. Yoga deck is perfect and looks out to Golfo Dulce so you can listen to waves as you flow. 💯% recommend.

Paz is a special place and Roberto is a wonderful host. The floor to ceiling screens in the living room/dining room situate you right in the secondary forest. Heaven for nature loving bird nerds. If you’ve spent time on the Osa before, you know Howler monkeys wake you at 4:30am. We watched howler, spider, and squirrel monkeys from bed. The beach is a minute walk. A covered porch with hammocks and chairs to enjoy the beautiful Gulfo Dulce. And a small pool to cool off in (key) and watch Macaws, capuchin monkeys, hermit crabs & the waves. We bought groceries in Puerto Jimenez and cooked most of meals for the week. Kitchen has big fridge, sharp knives, and worked well for us. Marluna Lodge (5 min drive) for Taco Tuesday. Visited local surf breaks and surfed the right point break out front of Paz. Tide dependent. Roberto can help you figure it out. Roberto was very attentive, warm, and helpful. He’s created a beautiful space in a beautiful part of the world.

We absolutely loved our stay here. It was the perfect place to unwind and truly be together as a family. The animal life was incredible. We woke up to monkeys in the morning and playing throughout the day just outside the house. Both john and Oscar were super helpful and friendly. And if you have a chance to have Jackson’s cook- she was incredible. If you’re in for a rustic, full of nature, full family time then this is your place! Also don’t miss out on scheduling a horseback ride with Carlos at finca tropical! It surpassed our expectations and my husband used to guide horseback rides in Colorado. Enjoy the time together and this charming place in Cabo matopalo!

We had a wonderful stay in Playa Blanca!! I had no cell service/communication on my end due to data issues with my phone for several days before our arrival, but we found it without issue with the original directions Amanda has on the listing. Amanda and Jay were very friendly and welcoming. Our kids loved playing with their kids on the jungle gym and in the pool. This stay was at the end of a 10 day stay for us in Costa Rica and was the perfect cap for us to rest/reset and enjoy the last few days in the Osa. Its a large property and very quiet and peaceful (well except for the beautiful macaws making a ruckus in the almond trees!) We paddle boarded each morning on the calm gulf and saw sea turtles daily! They have built a wonderful little school house on property as well and have unique opportunities for kids to attend school/study abroad so to speak for those that may be interested. We highly recommend this property!

La casa está justo al frente del mar, el sonido del mar es increíble que se une con la vida silvestre, es algo increíble poder ver tantos animales y poder tomar une café frente al mar por las mañanas. La casa es toda una experiencia para poder vivir esa vida silvestre. Chicky quien cuida la propiedad es súper atento, muy amable y anuente a ayudar en lo que sea necesario. Lleve su comida y todo lo necesario porque no hay nada cercano para comprar.

Casa Cielo is a amazing place to stay if visiting Pavones!! Very peaceful, safe, and beautiful place to relax in between surf sessions with great food close by! My go to spot when visiting Pavones!!

By far one of my favorite stays in Costa Rica! The house is great, exactly as seen in the photos. The house’s open air concept, proximity to the beach with its ocean breezes, and the 2 ceiling fans in the common spaces, kept the house very cool and comfortable. Also the fact that each bed had a private fan made the nights very comfortable as well. The kitchen is well stocked and easy to cook in (we cooked almost all our meals at the house). Although there are a couple good restaurant options nearby as well, which is a bonus. The host and property manager (Patricia and Anthony) were very responsive and helpful. We will definitely be back as soon as we can!!

Awesome spot for relaxing and adventuring in the Costa Rican jungle and beach. We love love loved the porch overlooking the canopy and the ocean. We spent hours watching the birds (macaws, toucans, hummingbirds, tanagers, and more!) and listening to the sounds of the waves. Bring binoculars! The rooms are really nice with AC in every room, nice bathrooms and nice beds. The kitchen is great with everything you need to cook. There’s a restaurant and bar a few mins down the path if needed. We booked a night tour with Carlos, snorkeling tour, and day wildlife viewing tour with Adrian when we arrived. Susan arranged it all and it was amazing! We saw so much wildlife in the forest during the day and night, and had a great time snorkeling. Our six days at the place were wonderful and we highly recommend this spot. Please note there are two rivers to cross if you come by car. They were low enough to cross for us but it is a consideration depending on the season you book (rainy or dry).

Die Lage ist wirklich super und die Kommunikation im Vorfeld war sehr gut. Wir kamen etwas zu spät an, der Check in war trotzdem kein Problem. Vom Balkon aus konnten wir viele verschiedene Tiere sehen. Als Minuspunkt ist zum einen zu nennen, dass die Küche nicht sehr gut ausgestattet ist, vor allem für größere Gruppen (wir waren zu fünft). Zum anderen muss man wirklich damit klarkommen, dass man einige Kakerlaken in der Unterkunft hat.

Nous étions déjà venu l’année dernière chez François. Notre séjour a ete beau, reposant et magique. Si vous aimez la jungle, la nature et la sensation d’être loin du reste du monde....c'est l'endroit parfait:) Le golfe Dulce est aussi un endroit très spécial....nous avons fait une excursion en bateau avec Osawild pour voir des dauphins....et nous avons eu un moment extraordinaire...Un petit paradis de jungle ou beaucoup d’espèce d’oiseaux et certain singes viennent naturellement sur la propriété.

Jose es un excelente anfitrión y su alojamiento también es excelente. Sobre todo nos encantaron las habitaciones y la ubicación inmejorable ya que es prácticamente enfrente de la playa. Todo muy bien.

Sabrina & Edu couldn’t have been better hosts! Their “end of the world” paradise is quiet & peaceful. Their home cooked meals were delicious & plentiful. The bungalows had thick netting so we could feel the cool night air as we slept. It was fabulous to wake up to all of the birdsongs every morning, They made a special effort to show us birds & animals. We really enjoyed the use of their boat to explore the River where their diverse ecosystem shines in the jungle. We also liked taking the boat on the lagoon to the beach. If you want a quiet and peaceful getaway, this is the place. However, Sabrina is happy to help you with any tours (and there are quite a few to choose from). We will always treasure our time here. :)

This was our first time renting an Airbnb in a foreign country, so we were a little nervous. Charles was super helpful and responsive during the whole trip. He gave us great recommendations, scheduled our excursions, and answered all of our questions. The main thing we wanted to do was to go offshore fishing. Charles hooked us up with two great captains (Louis and Donald (Dos Mas), and we had a great day of fishing. The house is located just a very short walk from the pier where you catch the boat. There are also several good restaurants that are within a short walk from the house. We also did an off-road drive and a short hike to the King Louis waterfall, tour of chocolate farm, and went surfing with Keilor (Lakos surf shop in town). We would recommend all of these activities highly. This was a great trip and we had a party of 6 from age 7 to 71. The fishing was amazing.

We loved our stay here. It’s beautiful and quiet. Just a heads up when people say you need a 4x4, YOU DO! The roads are rough! And don’t go at night! We had a hard time finding it, But once you get there it’s glorious! Never worried about animals coming in. What an experience! Would come back again but next time we’ll bring some games.
