'Adam se Huisie' is a wonderful place where you can truly unwind. The setting is fantastic with the wind blowing through the poplar trees, birds singing, the Nels River right there, and the quiet valley that surrounds you. You can go for endless walks, there is a micro-brewery within walking distance, or you can spend your time in the quiet pool. The pictures of 'Adam se Huisie' are a good reflection of what you can expect. There is a fireplace inside, as well as a little Weber braai if you want to braai outside. The drive along the dirt road that leads to and past 'Adam se Huisie' is also worth exploring. The lanterns create a wonderful atmosphere in the evening. Although there is no electricity, there is a fridge with a little freezer section as well. Gerrit, the host, is very friendly and exceptionally helpful. Personally, we look forward to spending time there again.

We stayed one night in the Old School Cottage and then we extended our stay to one night in the Birds Nest Cottage. Altough the Old School Cottage had a very special flair, we preferred the Birds Nest, we thought it was more cosy. The location of both is great, we could enjoy a wonderful starry sky.

The area is just beautiful and great walks to go on all around. The braai packs was made with so much love and the stuffed ostrich truly delicious. Breakfast on the stoep also lovely. The interiors of the cortèges could do with a bit of a update but at the same time they have everything you need and the 150 old rock formations and friendly hosts make it a incredibly worthy place to visit. I will be back for sure to explore more. My dogs loved it and safely fenced in too.

Centrally located, well equipped self-catering. A number of small touches make it feel more like you are in a guest house. Excellent value for money, and pet friendly, too!

a very cute house with a beautiful garden, away from the centre of town. Sue was very friendly and answered any question we had. The kitchen is fully equipped, which is always great.

Petro was a gracious host and so lovely. She has the cutest 7 month old puppies, unfortunately they stayed behind the gate so we couldn't play with them :) The rural area has incredible WiFi and while the home was originally built in 1888, it's amenities are perfectly usable. The indoor fireplace was so cozy, the beds were very comfortable and there was solar when we had unexpected loadshedding! Definitely recommend to walk the 5km hike route, take some dry socks as we walked through a overflowing stream (so beautiful!). Highly recommend Die Tuinhuis in Calitzdorp for a delicious brekkie, too!

What a lovely cottage! We are regular visitors to Prince Albert and this is our new favourite place to stay. It just has everything one could wish for, whatever the season. A lovely pool and barbecue area, a fireplace that really warms the house, quality beds and linen, all the amenities one could wish for - and those little touches that elevate the experience to one of real hospitality. We will definitely be back.

The property is beautifully restored and stylishly decorated, offering a perfect blend of charm and comfort. The swimming pool and air conditioning in both rooms were exceptional, providing much-needed relief from the Karoo heat. The lush green grass and inviting braai area added to the overall appeal. The kitchen, though basic, was well-equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location is ideal, within walking distance of the hotel and nearby restaurants. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to returning. The adorable dogs were a delightful bonus!

We had the most magical time at the French Cottage. Such incredible views and the cottage is full of charm and character. The little touches throughout made it such a special place to stay and we felt completely at home here. Philip was a fantastic host - kind, responsive and a super nice guy. River View Cottage is one of the best places I have ever stayed. We stayed a week at the change of season, it was wonderful on hot days and even in the rain. The setting is extravagantly beautiful. There are really worthwhile walks/hikes from the doorstep. Pack your hiking boots and even a stick if you are less sure-footed. It is a pleasure and privilege to swim and canoe on their long stretch of safe river, accompanied by abundant birds, eapecially the colourful bee eaters who seemed to follow us everywhere. Thoughtful and beautiful picnic places have been made at the riverside. River View is also the ultimate place to do nothing, on the stoep, gazing out at the glorious views. The cottage is very stylish in a laid back way, well equipped and thoughtfully designed for relaxing. Bronwyn and her son Cole are very warm and welcoming. We plan to return.

Lovely accommodation, with everything one can wish for to make one's stay pleasant. Jill was super friendly and even offer to book our restaurant, which she recommended! And what a superb recommendation! The food was superb. I would definitely be back for a longer stay. Thank you, Jill

Best Airbnb ever!! We've travelled a lot and stayed in really nice places, but this place has without a doubt the most amazing view! Loved it so much that we didn't want to leave. The cottage is cozy and beautiful with 2 large ensuite bedrooms. Before you go to the cottage buy everything you need, because it's really in the middle of nowhere but it is more than worth it! Wishing Gerrit and his family all the best!
