We had a lovely stay celebrating a friend's birthday. One suggestion would be to equip the kitchen with a few more platters and larger serving bowls to enable cooking and serving larger groups of people. Also perhaps some lamps in the lounge to create more ambience. It was either very bright lights while eating at the dining table / sitting in the lounge or in the dark with just the kitchen lights as lighting. Other than that we had a lovely stay and highly recommend your establishment for a comfortable stay for large families.

Spekboom is truly a gem in Prince Albert, lovingly renovated and seamlessly modernized, it’s bright, airy, and more than spacious enough for six people. There’s no better spot for those seeking peace and inspiration. Elam is an exceptional host! Always accessible and incredibly knowledgeable. Her attention to detail is remarkable and her warm and open personality creates a welcoming andand comfortable atmosphere, making you feel right at home from the moment you arrive.

Definitely great value for money ... As neat as a pin! Extremely clean. Don't be chased away by the lower price compared to others ... This one offers value for money ... Definitely will visit again.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The complex was quiet and the unit was very comfortable. I highly recommend it for your stay in Oudshoorn.

Wir hatten mit unseren Kindern eine tolle Zeit auf der Berluda Farm. Die Farm ist wunderschön gelegen, sehr idyllisch und vom Pool aus kann man Strauße beobachten. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr reichhaltig und die Terrasse sehr schön gelegen. Das Cottage war groß und sehr sauber. Wir können es aufjedenfall weiterempfehlen und kommen gerne wieder.

We had a very comfortable stay here. The room is beautifully laid out and decorated with lots of attention to detail, including a little bottle of sherry to warm us up on a chilly evening. 😊The location is perfect for a stroll around the block and easy access to some excellent restaurants. The staff are warm and welcoming. Altogether a highly recommended guest house.

We had a wonderful stay! Amazing location, the drive itself to the guesthouse is worth staying there. Beautiful walks in the neighbourhood. Good food in evening and morning. Great place to relax. Yes! Go!

We had a one night stopover in Marie's place on our journey from Stormsriver to Paternoster. The accomodation was spacious with the usual amenities - fridge, kettle, microwave etc. We had access to the swimming pool which was lovely. Breakfast was substantial with several choices available all served to your table looking over the swimming pool. Marie arranged dinner for us in a local restaurant inc transport which we thoroughly enjoyed. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Mein Aufenthalt bei Carmen und Dario war das Highlight meiner Südafrika Reise. Beide haben mich sehr herzlich bei sich aufgenommen, sich sehr gut um mich gekümmert und mit hervorragenden Tips für meine Reise versorgt. Ich habe mich direkt Zuhause gefühlt. Wer einen privaten und individuellen Aufenthalt abseits des Massentourismus in ländlicher Umgebung sucht, ist hier im Straussennest genau richtig. Vielen lieben Dank Carmen und Dario, dass ich bei euch zwei unvergessliche Tage verbringen durfte.

What a little gem of a spot. Did a mtb race in the area (36one mtb) and decided on Raw Karoo. They were kind to accommodate me with a late check in and the place itself was beautiful and welcoming. Everything you need in the unit and they do a great breakfast too! Hope to be back.

An absolute pleasure and delight to spend time with John and Esme. In equal parts welcoming and knowledgable with fabulous stories and great local advice.
