Ideal location if cycling or walking the South Downs, visiting Glyndebourne ,doing tours of either Rathfinny vineyard or the Long man brewery,exploring the beautiful National Park or just escaping the city for a weekend . They have own area for sitting and alfresco meals but are welcome to potter around the garden which is in its infancy and gardeners are welcome to add their advice on planting etc ! I am delighted to meet guests and am here to answer questions .I have been in the tourist trade for twenty three years running Centres at Bewl Water and SevenSisters Country Park so am happy to help with advice on where to visit ,best places to eat locally etc .However I am also very aware that guests come to relax,chill out and enjoy their privacy.So I will not intrude unless invited to 、 The hut is in the Village of, about 15 miles east of Brighton, in the South Downs National Park. Directly on the South Downs way;ideal for a stop over for cyclist and walkers. It's close to castles, stately homes, vineyards and, The High street offers colorful shops and excellent cafes and restaurants Close to mainline station to and from London. This quiet, charming retreat a step away from the bustle of village life offers privacy and relaxation. A little gem of an oasis! Parking is available in my drive.There are bus routes to Seaford and Eastbourne.The Railway station at Berwick is main line to Lewes, Gatwick and Victoria London . If you are visiting at the weekend you are advised to book if going out for a meal.I am happy to recommend places to eat .arriving by train Berwick station is only ten minutes away (mainline from Victoria) but remember to book a taxi to get to Alfriston ,Polegate and Seaford are the nearest taxi services.

Light and spacious self-contained Annex, separate from the main house with it's own private entrance. Being within two miles of the South Downs National Park and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, we are surrounded by idyllic countryside, lovely villages and pubs, and only 6 miles from the sea. The Space: Our Annex is comprised of a spacious double bedroom, with king-sized bed and luxurious bedding, a large lounge, a shower room, and a kitchenette, equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, tea & coffee making facilities, washing machine and dryer. Breakfast included. We have two friendly dogs, who have access to our garden and house, but not The Annex. Guest Access: Private entrance. Disabled accessible throughout, including shower. Ample parking. Access to the back garden and patio on request, due to our two friendly dogs. Interaction with Guests: We are a friendly couple, who love to make our visitors welcome, and will also respect your privacy, as you prefer. The Neighbourhood: We are in a rural village, with a small railway station, two pubs, a Post Office and garage. Perfect for walking, cycling and exploring the many local sights, Berwick village train station is only two minutes walk away, with easy access to Brighton, Eastbourne and Lewes. Ample on-site parking means you can leave your car in our drive whilst you explore by foot, bicycle, or train. Local sites include the historic village of Alfriston; Beachy Head, the Cuckmere Valley and the Seven Sisters; Charleston Farmhouse; Firle Place; and Glyndebourne, to name just a few!

Walking distance to nearby bakery, supermarket, fast food outlets, post office and a florist make this flat the perfect place for a short stay.

Local cultural attractions include Glyndebourne, Drusilla's Park, South Downs Way. This spacious artist's home is located right on the South Downs Way, and it is only about an hour and a half walk to the coast at Exceat. There is a tree house for kids, a couple of swing seats for chilling out on, and the Cuckmere runs through the bottom of the garden.

Jo, Kevin and Billy are a delight and we felt looked after and right at home. An absolutely beautiful location with everything we needed to be comfortable but to feel at one with nature. The shepherds hut was romantic and cosy with everything we needed. Log fire and outside camp fire. What a joy to unwind from hectic life and just stare at the sunset over a bbq. Can’t wait to come back and have more time there. Thank you Billy and Kevin for settling us in. Thank you Jo for your instructions and warm words that I will always remember. Can’t rate our stay high enough x

Had an amazing stay here and would 10/10 recommend to anyone. Good proximity to quiet spots in the countryside and by the beach as well as local towns for restaurants and nice pubs. Immaculately clean place, super comfortable beds and sofas. Spacious hot tub in the garden for a relaxing evening. The only thing I could suggest is possibly a clearer sign to the entrance of the property off the A22 in order to find the location and but otherwise had a perfect stay for my birthday!! Would happily return.

The cabin was just perfect for our night away from it all. We loved the bbq, cooking stove, all all the bits we needed. the cabin is perfectly arranged in side, cosy but it works - even two armchairs. my boys loved the fireplace and the marshmallows. There is a lot more than the photos show. Claire is a great host. I recommend the bacon from the farm shop too!

Wendy-Jane was an exceptional host, her home was beautiful and very cozy, with a gorgeous and very friendly cat. We loved the surroundings and the scenery. Wendy had a stunning selection of books on her shelves and CDs in her collection. The home was perfect for us, and we would love to return. The hot tub is an great addition and it was lovely to chill out in at the end of the day. There's lots to do in the surrounding area with a very charming in right opposite the house and another pub down the road with an abadondoned castle next door. And a short drive from both Hastings and Eastbourne made for a perfect weekend get away!!

We only had 2 nights at Badgers Rest but wished we’d had much longer! It’s in a beautiful location - very peaceful and quiet. The cottage is spacious, the bed really comfortable and it’s all really well-equipped with luxurious furnishings. We met Fiona on our last day there and she was most welcoming and friendly, as were all of her communications prior to our visit. She had left supplies for us on our arrival which were much appreciated. I would highly recommend Badger’s Rest as an outstanding property.

Had such a lovely 2 night stay with friends,clean and so much space massive stand alone bath!.we really enjoyed the hot tub overlooking the lake was just beautiful! there was ducks and baby geese! Would highly recommend and hope to come back and stay again.
