Very easy to find and close to funicular that ran every 30 minutes on schedule. At least 5 restaurants for lunch and dinner. Small store for basics. Terrace facing northeast was wonderful in the morning. Umbrellas for shade if needed. Washer with folding clothesline to dry inside or out. We only used the main bedroom and bath - both on second floor. Very nice. The second bedroom was on the second floor and second bath was in the basement - did not use those spaces or the sitting room in walkout basement. Kitchen stocked with basics for electric coffee maker (a bit noisy) and hand brother. Gas stove for heating milk. Toaster oven. Large grid freezer with many ice trays. Enjoyed the cat that showed up A few times. Easy 20 min walk from main train station (not Centro) to funicular. Main station also had many bus connections like to Grotta Giusti but only to swim in outdoor pool. You can’t swim in the cave - too bad. Would love to come back.

Der Aufenthalt bei Antonella war sehr schön, wir waren 10 Tage bei ihr. Die ruhige Lage und auch der an der Ferienwohnung angrenzende Pool haben zum Wohlfühlen eingeladen. Antonella ist sehr freundlich und hat uns Empfehlungen für die Zeit in der Toskana gegeben.

Min mand og jeg har nydt alle vores ti dage i Motrone. Vi befandt os helt fantastisk godt i stenhuset med den simple, men gedigne og holdbare indretning. Alt fungerede perfekt og vi fandt i heden ud af, hvordan vi kunne lukke for solen med skodderne, hvornår myggene ville ind, så dørene skulle lukkes osv. – for os var det en stor del af det at være i Motrone, det at leve med naturen - midt i naturen. Vi har nydt godt af værtsparrets måde at være værter på. Jenny kom med ekstra køkken udstyr, så vi kunne bage brød og stege kylling i den ovn, der opvarmes med træ og ild - og Geoff krydrede vores ophold med masser af lokale historiske og kulturelle input. Vi anbefaler klart værterne, hytten og det at holde ferie i en bjerglandsby i Toscana og vi kommer gerne tilbage for blot at nyde og være.

Hermosísimo departamento. Impecable todo. Estadía increíble. Recomiendo 100%. Caterina super amable, reactiva, flexible. Lucca es una ciudad hermosa.

The place was excellent, the first week we felt no need going places. So much to do in and around Barga. The house gives you the time to relax and on top of that Laura was more than helpful! Top host and we are certainly coming back and for a longer period so we can explore a bit more and maybe even visiting Sienna or Florence. Sound of Barga has another hidden gem: a separate appartment in the back which is not shown on Airbnb but available if you are with 4. Paolo and Laura, thank for this wonderful experience. Oh, luckily we took our e-bikes: cycling in Lucca and convenient in Barga. We love this place!

Maurizio e Giulia ci hanno accolti calorosamente nella loro bellissima casa. Tutto esattamente come nelle foto, ambienti accoglienti e puliti, il posto perfetto per chi cerca relax e tranquillità. Consigliatissimo!

Wir haben 11 Nächte Anfang Juni in der Unterkunft verbracht. Der Pool ist riesengroß und es gibt einen Whirlpool. Der Garten ist komplett umzäunt und somit perfekt für Hunde und kleine Kinder. Es gibt eine tolle Außenküche die wir hauptsächlich fürs Kochen benutzt haben. Das Haus ist perfekt ausgestattet. Die Lage ist fantastisch. Der Ausblick in die Apuanischen Alpen ist einfach traumhaft. Der Weg zum Haus ist teilweise tatsächlich etwas schmal, aber wir haben mit einem Minivan durchgepasst. Das Beste sind aber tatsächlich die Gastgeber. Carlo und Elena sind so warmherzige, liebe Menschen und haben uns ganz wunderbar empfangen. Carlo bringt immer wieder leckeres Essen aus der Umgebung mit, hat super Ausflugtipps und unser absolutes Highlight: Carlo und Elena haben uns zu einem selbst gekochten Abendessen zu sich in die Berge eingeladen. Ein wunderschöner Abend, wahnsinnig gutes Essen und ein toller Abschluss für unseren Urlaub. Elena und Carlo, danke für alles. Wir kommen wieder☺️

The most beautiful house in quiet surroundings, with magical views. Rachel has decorated the house thinking of every little detail. She has respected the old (beautiful old wide plank floors upstairs, tilefloors downstairs and beams both upstairs and downstairs), still she has managed to make the house modern in a right way. I warmly recommend this place to everyone who want some peace and quiet in their lives, with a hint of magical fairydust. I left a piece of my heart here, and will most certainly come back! The surroundings offer a lot from stunning hikes to hustle and bustle in Lucca. Rachel greeted us very warmly, she gave us great advice, and the welcome basket was awesome!!
