Holiday rentals with breakfast in Penobscot Bay

We had a perfect stay at David’s house. The home itself is beautiful and cozy. We had everything we needed and spent a lot of time around the house, taking walks, sitting on the front porch, and enjoying the yard. The location was wonderful; we found many beautiful hikes and scenic spots within half an hour and explored a different area every day. We would definitely stay again! I can’t recommend it highly enough. David was a wonderful host and very kind and responsive.

Cuter and bigger than anticipated from photos. Had everything we needed. A few areas needed a bit more TLC, but overall we were very satisfied. Thank you!

The house was clean and organized, comfortable!! Centralized for all areas of things to do!! Close to casino!! Very nice place !!

It is a home, not another place set up for visitors. Its warm, inviting, beautiful and perfect location. We will return, if not many more times in the future.

What a beautiful and completely unique home. So glad Johnathan was able to share this amazing place with us. We had my sisters bachelorette weekend here, and she said it was exactly what she wanted. We actually spent more time enjoying the home than we thought. We did a lobster bake down by the shore, watched the sunrise, and hunted constellations at night. A perfect weekend spent on the lake in Autumn. Does it get any better? Johnathan was always there to help, and so friendly and caring. We appreciated all the family history, and every cozy detail of his home. We were sad to leave, but maybe we will have a reunion in the future here! I hope so!

Rachel’s place was perfect. Being new to the island, I had lots of questions during my planning to take my family to Matinicus for a week and Rachel responded quickly and kindly each time. She even bought a new and improved blender for us in case the other two in the kitchen weren’t quite right. The house suited us to a tea. Comfortable and peaceful. The perfect place for my family to reconnect after being spread out during a busy summer. But here is the best example of Rachel’s kindness: We forgot our car key in the house and only realized once we were on the boat back. We called Rachel from Rockland make sure the key was still in the house. She quickly found it and ran it to the mail plane who was able to get it us a few hours later. It was amazing.

Overall great stay, the inn keeper and staff were so helpful and friendly. The gourmet breakfast provided every morning was extraordinary! My only complaint was the bed mattresses were awful, and extremely uncomfortable. For that reason alone I’m glad we only stayed 2 nights bc my back was killing me and I did not sleep well. My husband, in laws and my kids said the same thing about their beds except my teen who slept on the large sofa upstairs which he said was extremely comfortable. Other than that this place was amazing, the patio was a great place for morning coffee, even with the cold, rainy weather we made the best of it! The employee at the inn were so helpful and truly enjoyed talking with them about the area etc . The breakfast every morning was so good and better than most restaurants ! We will be back in the future! Having the washer/dryer on site was also super helpful !

The house was great, beautiful surrounding, great amount of privacy, beautiful and clean on the inside. About 20 minutes into town and 45 minutes to Acadia. The kitchen was spectacular as well as 2 great living room type spaces to hang out. In addition to two bedroom, the pullout couch is great for an extra person or two. Do not worry about the reviews with shower water pressure. It is not bad and the shower itself is really great! Overall, I would definitely stay here again. I loved this house!

We had a great stay here! Only two notes are that it is not a great choice for light sleepers or individuals with mobility issues. Have to go up a flight of stairs to get to the room and because it is located across from restaurants/near downtown, there’s a lot of street noise. Aside from those things, we loved our stay. The space is large, clean, and inviting.

Nice place and very roomy!

The feeling of being on this beautiful estate is amazing. We felt like the Duke and Dutchess of Bristol. The grounds are beautifully manicured and invite strolls through the orchard, down scenic walking paths, and down to the large pond for a swim or glorious paddle on the provided canoes and kayaks. Timothy is thoroughly delightful, warm and charming. It felt like we were staying on the estate of a treasured old friend. We look forward to returning again and again.

We enjoyed staying with Trudy and Michael! Very responsive to all my questions/requests. It was a unique experience in the treehouse that met all of our needs! We looked forward to the homemade muffins and fresh fruit every morning! Easy walk to the footbridge and all the attractions/restaurants/shops. Definitely recommend to those looking for a quiet place that is close to the harbor!

Staying at Jin and Wayne’s place was truly restorative. BEAUTIFUL property, LOVELY hosts, PERFECTLY appointed. We were amazed at all the thoughtful touches and calming atmosphere. The beds and linens were the most comfortable we have ever slept in. We stayed in lilac, peony, and iris blooming season - their gardens are spectacular. We met Jim and she was so friendly and lovely. We felt welcomed and guided. Rockland was charming, quiet, with great walking trails, shops, and activities. They have a good selection of Wyeths and other Maine artists at the Farnsworth Gallery. VERY friendly town and we will return to stay at Salty Cape. Thank you for a PERFECT stay.

We were 2 couples staying for a week. Rooms were spacious and had several comfortable lounging areas. The bedding was clean and looked like new. Ralph is a fantastic cook and had homemade breakfast items most mornings. I highly recommend!!

Couldn’t say enough great things about our Airbnb experience here! Cozy place that was walkable to many great shops and restaurants. The free breakfast accommodation at Everyday Joes was an awesome perk - loved the food and service. Diwas was responsive and helpful. Would recommend staying here!

After an extremely busy and somewhat stressful day of searching for real estate arriving at Kathryn's Airbnb was somewhat of an oasis. We couldn't be exactly sure of our arrival time but Kathryn was flexible and very helpful with local dinner suggestions. The space was perfect for us: comfortable, peaceful, with everything we needed including breakfast makings. Thank you Kathryn, we would definitely stay there again.

Margaret was fantastic and we enjoyed visiting with her in the mornings while drinking our coffee. Breakfast was fabulous every day and Margaret went out of her way to provide delicious food that everyone liked. We loved our visit here!

The perfect stay for an Acadia Park home base - location can’t be beat! Breakfast each morning was delicious, room was very cute and comfy, staff was friendly! We would definitely stay here again!

We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend. We have two young children and this was the perfect couples getaway. The Airbnb was so quiet and cozy. We slept so peacefully after long hiking days. Sue is an amazing cook and breakfast was delicious! Early hikes and travel plans didn’t allow us to always eat in person, but Sue and Eric thoughtfully prepared delicious baked goods and fruit for us. They were quick with communication and extremely organized. Everything was very clean too. I would stay here again and hope to in the future when we are back to visit Acadia.

It's a new listing and had no reviews. We took our chances and boy was this a great bet:) The house is 100 years old and it has been a B&B for decades. Best location. Wonderful host. Charming atmosphere. Great breakfast. Unbeatable views and access to the lake. We will come again for sure.

This place is historic and lovely! Great location on the way and close to another great location: Monhegan Island! It's quiet and relaxing and Leslie is a wonderful hostess! This was a return trip for us and we recommended it to our family!

What a wonderful time we had staying with Libbey and Jeep. It was a beautiful house in a beautiful setting, we were comfortable and very happy with the accommodations. Most of all, we really enjoyed talking with and getting to know our hosts!

Even though I had been to Acadia area several times, I never realized what a sweet town Southwest Harbor is. This is a prime location for anyone wanting access to the national park. It's a relief to stay on the "quiet side" of the island. This accommodation is amazing for its value, roominess, hospitality, cleanliness, and ease of parking. Carol provides a lot of tips regarding local "must-sees" from the point of view of someone who really knows the area. She has thought of everything that will make your stay comfortable and convenient.

We really enjoyed the Creekside Crib. The space was great—super clean, very nice decor, large and very well laid out. They really thought of everything you might need. The hosts were super nice—friendly, responsive, generous and good communicators. They even provided delicious home made breakfast items, nibbles and fruit for our stay. The hosts were quiet, respectful and non-intrusive. We really enjoyed the local surroundings around Green Lake, the Great Brook, etc. and know it very well from decades visiting. In sum — a great place, great hosts at a great value.
