Holiday rentals with breakfast in Paquera

We really LOVED Calamocha Jungle Lodge – and can recommend it highly. Everything was perfect: The beautiful bungalow surrounded by trees and with a view to the ocean. The monkeys that passed by daily. The iguanas chasing each other down the trees. The infinity pool and its view are spectacular. The breakfast so tasty. The other guests and the staff so nice and kind. And last but definitely not least: Vero! She was so kind and nice and hospitable. We will come back, that’s for sure!

Absolutely wonderful stay! We would have stayed longer if we could. Great atmosphere, homelike feel, and the proximity to Hermosa beach is unbeatable – just a leisurely two-minute stroll away. The surfing lessons offered are both professional and super fun, really recommended ! The food, especially the included breakfast, is superb, and I highly recommend opting in for dinner as well. Being a surf camp, there's always a vibrant community of like-minded individuals to connect with and plenty of activities to join in. Overall, it was a wonderful experience that I highly recommend to anyone looking for active relaxation and genuine hospitality.

The whole property was absolutely stunning and peaceful! Vero has done an amazing job at creating a secluded and relaxing stay. We spent 2 weeks in Costa Rica and only 4 days with Vero - we said we wished we would have spent the whole time at Calamocha! We will 100% be staying here again. Amazing stay and amazing host!

I loved this space at Dream Sea Surf Camp! The design and decor of the room was so inspiring, and I loved the open shower! The common areas of the surf camp are welcoming and beautiful - the landscaping is amazing! On top of all of these positive attributes, the best part was: the vibe, the guests and the employees!!!-- oh and also- the proximity to the stunning nearby beach, Playa Hermosa! Congrats to Dream Sea for bringing a beautiful vision to manifest form--- and through that, giving others the opportunity to create beautiful memories in a gorgeous location!

My stay at this Airbnb was truly magical. Nestled in the heart of nature, it offered the perfect escape from the noise and pace of daily life. The setting was absolutely beautiful—surrounded by trees, birdsong, and peaceful stillness. It felt like a hidden gem where time slows down. What made it even more special was the staff. They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and full of amazing local recommendations. Thanks to their tips, I got to experience some of the area’s best-kept secrets—places I never would have found on my own. If you’re looking for a serene retreat where you can reconnect with nature and explore like a local, this is the place. I’ll definitely be back!

Casa Zen is just what we needed to end our Costa Rica stay. Overlooking the local jungle with views of the mountains and the sea, this is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the visit of capuchin monkeys, hummingbirds, bats, iguanas and hear howler monkeys in the distance! The sunsets from the balcony are also something special… Veronique is a great host, very communicative with great local recommendations (muelle del marisco was delicious!) and very friendly, makes you feel right at home. To get here you would need a 4wd, the road from the Playa Naranjo ferry is mostly paved by it turns into dirt road towards the end and there are a few steep inclines that would be challenging without, specially if it rains. The road from Puente Amistad vía National 160 is mostly dirt road, with 3-4 river crossings (with the car). This route definitely needs a 4wd but was super fun to do. Rivers appear low at this time of year. And the infinity pool…the perfect complement! Don’t miss it!

Villa Alta has the most remarkable hosts and is a very spacious, clean, and inviting home! This home is in a very quiet neighborhood, and yes there are lots of dogs at all the homes, but I never heard them when I was sleeping. There are beautiful views of the mountains and the bay, you can sometimes hear the mono congos in the nearby forest when you sit on the deck, which I did often, enjoying the cool breeze or the rain falling. I would suggest you have a vehicle as it is not easy to get to a market or the nearby towns, which have some interesting history and sometimes shows. Hope you catch the local dancing demonstrations in Esparza! I will return if just even to visit with Jose and Leda, who everyone should take time to get to know! Best examples of Pura Vida!

Danny è un ragazzo super disponibile e gentile. Ci ha dato anche molte informazioni utili per ristornati e spiagge… I signori che abitano sotto all’appartamento sono molto dolci, ci hanno preparato la colazione e lavato i vestiti con molto piacere. Super consigliato per la casa e sopratutto per l’ospitalità

The place is beautiful and well organized. Close to the Los Sueños Beach club, and Marina. Sometimes you get to see and hear the scarlet macaws near by, but the condo itself is very quiet. Host is wonderful, very helpful and responsive to our questions.

Unser Aufenthalt in der Casa del Conde war zwar nur sehr kurz, aber sehr schön. Die Unterkunft war wie beschrieben und sehr sauber. Wir haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt und würden wieder hier übernachten.

We had an incredible stay at this bed and breakfast. The owners, who also run the place themselves, have put so much care into every detail—right down to the beautiful, functional furniture they built themselves. They truly nailed both the “bed” and “breakfast” aspects—we left feeling completely rested and refreshed. One tip for future guests, especially during the peak of the dry season: embrace the afternoon heat rather than fighting it. Take advantage of the thoughtful amenities—make a refreshing glass of iced tea or water (everything you need is provided), turn on the air, close the shades, and relax on the exceptionally comfortable beds. Even a nap isn’t a bad idea! By around 4:00 PM, it cools off enough to fully enjoy the pool, play darts, or challenge someone to a game of billiards. This is a truly special place, and we’d absolutely stay here again!

This place is so special!! Wonderful hosts, gorgeous nature/property. We did the bioluminescent kayak tour and it was so magical - don’t skip it! Hosts were super communicative and helpful in our getting there, and made it so easy to arrange the tour and the breakfast add-ons. They recommended a walkable dinner spot for us that blew our minds it was so great. The unit is so cute and rustic in the best way, with the most incredible view. The steps down to the water and hangout/breakfast area are no joke, so definitely make sure you are prepared to go up them at least 1x per day.

What a stunning location, and a fabulous welcome! Anne and her daughter Oceane, were fabulous hosts. This is a beautiful setting , with amazing views over the Gulf of Nicoya. It is quiet and peaceful with a lot of bird life. As described, the track to the accommodation requires a 4x4 , but although it is quite rough in places, it was an easy drive in the dry season. We decided to drive out to a restaurant for our evening meal ( Aroma del Mar, which we highly recommend), and driving back in the dark up the steep track was no problem for us - although we are used to driving in Costa Rica. It was great to have breakfast provided, which was very nice. We only stayed for one night, but would highly recommend this place if you love nature, peace and quiet, and like being off the beaten track.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour (10 nuits) chez Mauro et Julio ! Ils sont très sympathiques et disponibles, n’hésitez pas si vous avez des questions, ils pourront vous conseiller et vous recommander grâce à leurs connaissances de la région. Santa Teresa étant à 2km, il est facilement possible de s’y rendre en quad/scooter, à pied (30 min), en bus (lignes directes et régulières) ou même en stop. Le logement est donc un bon prix pour la région. De plus, le petit déjeuner compris est frais et très bon (même si un peu redondant pour un long séjour) et servi par la gentille et rayonnante Anabel. Il n’y a pas d’air conditionné, mais le ventilateur est efficace. La salle de bain privée est correcte et il est très pratique d’avoir un frigo à disposition! Le seul petit bémol est le matelas, mais cela ne nous a pas empêché de passer des nuits reposantes!

If you want to sleep listening to the sound of the waves, walk on what feels like you’re own private beach, breath in the nature and eat amazing food whilst being in a creative space, this is the place to visit. For me it was also a slice of heaven / escape from the madness and dust of Santa Teresa.

Tuvimos una estancia maravillosa con Julio y Mauro! El alojamiento estaba muy limpio y acogedor. El desayuno cada mañana fue delicioso y fresco. Nos encantó tener una cocina bien equipada, muy práctica. Julio y Mauro son anfitriones muy amables y atentos – nos sentimos bienvenidos desde el primer momento. Definitivamente volveríamos!
