Charming Victorian Home Near Beach

We had a fabulous time at the historic Pink House! It’s better than pictured with its historic charm (incredible stained glass windows throughout) and modern comforts - everything we needed including a fully appointed kitchen, super comfortable beds, and a washer and dryer. The neighborhood was quiet and just a very short walk away from many restaurants (we loved Passion Fish), Lover’s Point (we definitely enjoyed watching the otters eat) and the waterfront walk/bike trail. We were there for the Big Sur marathon and it was a great location for that - just 7 minutes from the Monterey Conference Center and downtown Monterey. We loved all of the books detailing the history of the home. Communication was amazing - we’ll definitely stay here again if we’re in the area! Snag this spot if it’s available - you won’t be disappointed.

The Santa Cruz A-frame was such a serene retreat into the mountains for us, and an antidote to our overly digital and urban lives. Things we appreciated: easy parking, both an upstairs and downstairs bathroom, full kitchen supplies, private balcony, gorgeous forest views, creek in the back, and easy access to Loch Lomond (peddle boating on the lake was so peaceful), the redwood state park (hiking in the largely shaded trail was great on an otherwise sunny day), and local groceries and food (enjoyed the cute outdoor patio in the back of The Grove cafe and bakery). We had a wonderful rest!

PG House: Modern Ocean Bungalow Amazing Location

Mimi and Alan’s is a wonderful home base in Monterey/Pacific Grove. This was a last minute trip for us & we really lucked out that it was available. The home itself is beautiful, with everything you need in walking distance. We walked to the aquarium, the grocery store, the cute restaurants up the street, & the trail along the ocean to Lover’s Point - so many seals and otters visible along the way! The only little blip that we had, & it’s no one’s fault, is that the kitchen breaker had tripped before our arrival. This wasn’t obvious to us as we hadn’t used anything in the kitchen, except the microwave which remained unaffected. It wasn’t until late in the afternoon the following day that my husband decided to investigate because the fridge was not cold. We did end up having to throw away some of our groceries that we bought upon arrival. If helpful, there are green lights on the outlets that let you know they’re working & breaker box info is thoughtfully included in the house guide.

Perfect spot for a birthday getaway with my family of four. Chris’s home in Pacific Grove is situated ideally for easy access to Carmel, Monterey, and Big Sur. What we also discovered is that PG is a destination in itself—with quality restaurants, a beautiful coastal trail, and unique shops. Chris was a friendly, helpful host-offering us terrific recommendations for restaurants and activities in the area. He also was kind enough to let me know we could check in early and check out a bit later, if we needed to. Finally, he was so thoughtful on my birthday, delivering a box of delicious baked goods to me. Chris’s descriptions and photos of his home were accurate; I love the front room’s natural light, the wood floors, the solid wood furniture, and the home’s layout. We didn’t do much cooking, as we wanted to try the restaurants in the area, but it was modern and well-equipped. The beds were very comfy and the shower heads had great water pressure. Top ratings! Thank you, Chris!

Amazing place in a quiet neighborhood. There is a fully fenced in yard that I was able to let my 8 month old GSD run around in. The pics actually make the unit itself look smaller than it is. There was plenty of room for an XL dog crate. Highly recommend!!
