Mara Lodge - Family Suite with Private Bathroom

GillRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Our stay in Mara Lodge was a dream! Stunning view from the guest lounge, super-comfy bedrooms, luxurious bathroom, lovely breakfast and the most relaxed, welcoming hosts ever. Dounby is a great, central location, not far from the two main towns and close to dramatic sea cliffs, prehistoric sites and more. This was a perfect base to enjoy the folk festival and Orkney's magical landscapes. Thank you Amanda & Neil!

Eastbank house, room 4 (twin room)

KaiaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Malcolm was very helpful and friendly, even offering to pick us up from the airport. The kitchen is well stocked with breakfast items (including coffee beans and a grinder) and the house is an easy cycle from the centre with great views from atop the hill. The entrance and stairways smelled a bit damp but the room was clean and comfortable.

Kirkwall, Orkney. Spacious double with breakfast

AlexisRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Ian and a Fiona’s place is fabulous. The room is spacious, well appointed, comfortable and private. The bathroom is large and spotless. The breakfast supplied is simple but delicious and plentiful. The corn bread from a local bakery was very good indeed. Driveway parking takes the stress out of finding a park after a big day exploring. The property is an easy walk into Kirkness and an easy drive to anywhere on the main island. As a rule, I only ever book an entire airbnb place as we like our privacy, but there are absolutely no issues here with that. This place comes highly recommended on all levels.

Eastbank House Hostel, Room 7 (single room)

KatieRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Malcolm’s space was better than I could have hoped for. It was quiet and filled with thoughtful touches: breads, teas, coffees, milk, a phone charger in the room (which saved me my first night, as I didn’t have a converter). I think most importantly, the entire building was so very clean. I swear the carpet in the hall was vacuumed every time I returned to my room. Every space was just … so clean every time I went through. The building has so much character through thoughtful art, old quirks, and a fantastic staircase. And Malcolm himself was cheery, helpful, and welcoming. I loved everything about my stay. This is where I’ll stay when I return to Kirkwall. Every time. Thanks, y’all!

Kirkwall. Large single/small double with breakfast

PavelRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Lovely room and great hosts. Fiona made herself available for a late check in and was available throughout my stay if I had any questions. The room is spotless clean. There is also a small breakfast area next to the room with fresh local produce, which was really appreciated. Thank you again!

Esviken 2 in heart of Kirkwall

EeroRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Anushka’s place was amazing! This 2-floor stay was extremely spacious with a wonderfully modern bathroom, cozy living room, comfy bedrooms, and a fully stocked kitchen. The location was perfect. You could easily drive around the islands and explore historic sites during the day but still make it back to walk around the main street in Kirkwall to grab dinner. (We were celebrating a birthday so we walked to grab drinks and dinner at Twenty One, highly recommend if you’re looking for a hip and fun atmosphere with great food!) There are lots of shops, restaurants, and cafes within walking distance. Anushka was an extremely responsive and helpful host. Thanks for having us!

Stay in the rural heart of Neolithic Orkney

PaulRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Comfortable stay in pleasant bungalow close to main prehistoric sites of Orkney. Quiet, peaceful, scenic spot, but you need a car. Andy was exceptionally welcoming and hospitable. The bedroom, bathroom and private sitting room were spotless. All breakfast requirements were well provided for in the private sitting room. We would stay here again and recommend it to others without hesitation.

Graemeshall House double ensuite

MargaretRating, 5 stars1 week ago
A beautiful historic building and grounds and a lot to do in the area. As we only had two nights on Orkney and were busy seeing the sights we unfortunately did not get to spend any substantial time exploring the library full of interesting books. The breakfast options were fresh and delicious and the service and presentation were impeccable. Would recommend a longer stay if possible. It was closer to many of the attractions than we anticipated.

The Ried Hall Rm#1

RosieRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
We loved Linda and Adam's place! It was all perfect - the garden, the gorgeous big room with teas and coffees left our for us, and they served up a delicious and very hearty breakfast in the morning. We really felt like we could call the place home for our short stay, and lived in maximum comfort and cleanliness.

Deborah could not have been more helpful, in spite of our long list of quirky queries and requests, going beyond anything we could have expected, to help make our itinerary work for us. Plus a stunning view while eating breakfast. Thanks so much Deborah!
