Family-friendly holiday rentals in Ōhope

We enjoyed our stay very much! The place is located on a elevated spot above Whakatane with breathtaking views! Lorraine was extremely accommodating and making us feel like home! The place is very spacious with more than enough space for our group of six adults and two kids - they even had a kids toy box! Thank you!

From my Mrs: My partner and I LOVED our stay. I was in awe of everything, we had a bath underneath the stars, had a nice hot meal in the little kitchen at the top — waking up to the nice golden light in the morning and being able to see Whakaari UGH perfection. The beach is a 7 minute walk away and it’s so cool! The horses there are beautiful. Just everything here was so good and relaxing, felt really sad to leave but definitely keeping this place as one of our go-to’s for some time away from home. Thank you, Sarah! Thank you for a beautiful stay at the Farm Grove Stay Yurt. Comma beforehand were super clear and helpful, made a check in a breeze. Checking in, incense was lit, welcome chocolates with a guest book of helpful instructions for the venue and food recommendations. The place was a heavenly getaway weekend for my partner and I with lots to do from a hot tub soak under the stars, a 5-10min walk to the beach from the access with a stunning lookout view. Also we loved the bday cake it made everything all that much special. Thank you again & would love to come back again 🤗

Thank you Rachelle and family for an incredible stay at your bach. It was the most beautiful location for our get together. The surrounding native bush, tidy spacious lockwood and all the amenities you could ask for (right on the lake, spa, flying fox, kayaks) and a wonderful host to create an awesome holiday. You won't want to leave. If you are considering The Barefoot lodge - BOOK NOW! You won't regret it!!

Perfection…in every way. Great communication and Paul was very responsive and accommodating. The place was a slice of heaven and we will definitely be using it every time we travel to Whakatane. Super close to town, with 180 degree ocean views and very respectful quiet neighbours. 10/10 for anyone looking for an amazing place to relax and unwind. Beautiful spot right across from the beach. Quiet and peaceful, just what we needed.

What a beautiful space. If you a looking for a fantastic holiday home for a couple or small family this is the place to be. Right across the road from the beach. So tidy and warm very clean. Mark was amazing! We enjoyed our stay and will be back for sure!!! Thanks for making our trip to Ohope special.

Janet is a wonderful communicator. She was extremely helpful throughout and we really appreciated all the help she provided. In terms of value for money, this was somewhat disappointing. While we were aware of the rules and preconditions of our stay before our holiday, having to cater for our own linens, towels, rubbish and recycling, etc. reduces our star rating and our value for money considerations.

What a beautiful place to stay! It was perfect for what we needed and we loved being able to bring our dogs. Communication was excellent.

The location was beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! We loved our stay! Beach front and walking distance to park. There is a life guard station at the end of the road. We chose to go there to swim. Nadene was so nice and helpful! She recommended we stop by Monty’s. That was great. We ate dinner and listened to live music. Overall great trip!

Our stay at Ash and Vanesch’s unit was great, very central for the things we wanted to do. The beach was just across the road and the Ōhope club well within walking distance, their menu was good too! We would recommend this stay to anyone however be prepared for a little road noise. Maybe we noticed it because we live in a quiet cul de sac. Thanks Ash and Vanesch.

House was warm and cozy, its a older home but has 2 heat pumps which easily warm the space. The toilet is just outside of the back door but the night was warm so the extra walk did not bother us. The back door is still covered with plywood and a window in the small bedroom is covered with cardboard but me and my group were not worried about security. We let the host know we would be arriving late and the outside light and heat pumps were left on for our late arrival.

Amazing house in an even more amazing location. We loved the deck and chairs and easy beach access! Spent a lot of time sitting on deck watching waves, surfers and beach goers. Unit was spotless and kitchen was very well stocked - and I mean very! Loved the Nespresso and frother. Great bed and comfortable living room with a good TV. Had a fabulous dinner at Cadera. Wish we could have stayed longer. It was a bit of a splurge for just the two of us but so worth it!

Fantastic place just as you enter Ohope. Beautiful little spot, and nicely located so you can either conveniently surf where you feel along the beach. Will hopefully stay again for another weekend getaway. Cheers

Great location for a relaxed, quiet stay. Right opposite the beach, it is a lovely venue for beach walks and plenty of bush walks if you have time! Restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and Whakatane is just a few minutes down the road for more shopping and amenities. Robin was a great host who gave us plenty of ideas of places to go and things to see and pointed out the best café for a morning coffee fix! The room was very comfortable and stocked with tea/coffee for a morning cuppa, with fresh delicious New Zealand milk in the fridge. Highly recommend this property for a relaxing beach stay with great host!

What a gem!!! Situated in a peaceful and lovely part of Opotiki with a very helpful host!!! Unit was just a described and felt quite at home... Bed was very comfortable!!! Will be back 😀
