Absolutely brilliant stay - if you are planning a trip to Gangtok please stay here! There's so much going for the place - the quiet surroundings with a stream flowing by the private garden, the well appointed and squeaky clean room and common area, amazing hospitality and warmth from Allen and his wife! It's the small things that make the difference - when we arrived late on the first night, Allen had a sumptuous home cooked dinner ready for us. We also looked forward to the tea and local snacks twice a day. Allen also helped us get in touch with a reliable local driver to get around, as well as nearby restaurants and home chefs who could deliver food. All in all, extremely superlative experience and can't wait to be back!

Perfect place if you want a peaceful place to stay at. Sandakphu peak is 1 day trek (~14 kms) away from this place. Ideal if you want to go to Sandakphu from an offbeat route. The hosts are very helpful. The food provided at the stay was delicious.

I had a lovely stay at Sangdup's countryside homestay in the hills of Upper Dzongu. There are walkable trails and the surrounding is quite nice and peaceful. The altitude of the place is lower than that of Gangtok, so it's not as cold and high-altitude-exotic/stunning as some of the other North Sikkim tourist destinations, but I enjoyed the vibe of being in nature. Sangdup and his family are quite helpful and try to create a good experience for you. It's worth noting though that in order to reach the homestay you have to climb some 130 stairs. Everytime you need to go down for a car ride or for a hike you have to climb stairs.

I would recommend people to come here and just stay a few days, don't plan anything, just stay at this absolutely amazing home stay with hosts who can be described just the same. There are 12 dogs and 6 kittens I believe, and all are vaccinated, extremely friendly floofs. The walnut cabin is really well decorated, loved the interiors and the view of all of Gangtok from there is breathtaking at night. There's place for bonfire and grilling food right in front of the cabin which is that we did, invited the others guests and that's even Priya joined us and that was a night to remember. The absolute gems that are kumar bhaiya (the caretaker) and Kumari didi (the cook) really went above and beyond for us and made the stay very comfortable. Food was delicious, proper home cooked without too much spices and oil.

The place is very nice with beautiful view. We thought it would be a very cold place but apparently not. Our 9 months old boy enjoyed the place a lot, seeing greens and having fresh air on morning walk, swam in the river with cool water, etc. The host, Anuj and Deepika (Pabitra's family), were very helpful and responsive to our concerns and their daughter was very fun when play with our baby, felt like family.

If you are nearby to Jorhat district, please do yourself a favour and give them a chance to host you and in exchange you will get lifetime memories. Uncle and Swapna aunty they both are so nice, full of love, very caring and willing to help you with any doubts you have. You will feel like at home and will have access to every corner of their house. They have huge space to accommodate family, friends and groups. Swapna aunty can win anyone with her homely cooked finger licking foods. She is an amazing cook and even better host. Place, Food, Host all are to die for.

Had the most amazing time at Norbu Gokyil in Darjeeling! The place is super peaceful, tucked away just enough from the town to feel calm but still close enough to everything. The best part though was the lovely family hosting us — all four of them were so kind, welcoming, and genuinely sweet. You really feel like you’re staying with friends rather than just renting a place. They were always happy to help, whether it was with local tips or just chatting over tea. And their three adorable dogs made the stay even better — super friendly and so cute! The room was clean, cozy, and perfect to come back to after a day of exploring. The food was also really good and homely — just what you’d want in a place like this. Would 100% recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful, heartwarming stay in Darjeeling. Already missing it!

Though reaching there was a nightmare, staying there was heaven. Cook Lam made us sumptuous thali. I recommend this place if you are looking out for a peaceful village life. The bedroom, cloth hanging room, and washroom were cross ventilated. While going there, one has to be very clear about the route as Google map can take you through long muddy roads with dead ends.

Kalimpong Village Retreat, tucked in Kalimpong's serene Iche village, is a hidden haven run by the warm and attentive Siddharth and Suprina. Meals here are authentic and flavorful, made with locally sourced ingredients, from Sel Roti to tree tomato chutney—Nepali cuisine at its finest. Siddharth and Suprina's care, alongside their hardworking neighbor, Anita (“Bhauju”), makes every moment feel like home. Adding charm is Brownie, their lovable dog, who becomes an instant friend. Siddharth’s close-knit community ties ensure all needs are met, from evening transport to local recommendations, despite the secluded setting. For anyone seeking an escape from city life, Kalimpong Village Retreat offers a soulful, peaceful stay with heartfelt hospitality. I left rejuvenated, grateful, and eager to return to this special place.

Where to begin… Staying at Sristi’s farm was such an authentic and unforgettable experience. I had the chance to live alongside Sristi and her lovely family, and it gave me a genuine glimpse into their way of life. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely at home — Sristi has such a warm, welcoming energy, and we connected really naturally. She quickly felt more like a friend than a host. We shared some amazing moments together, including a trip to a beautiful river. There’s so much to do around the farm — whether you’re in the mood for hiking, exploring the nearby village (don’t miss the best samosa in West Sikkim!), or simply unwinding and soaking in the peaceful nature all around. And I can’t forget to mention the food — absolutely delicious, every single meal! Needless to say, I highly recommend staying here. It’s a special place, and one I’ll carry with me for a long time. This place was a beautiful blend of traditional and modern aspects. You get to stay in a beautiful countryside in traditional Sikkimese tribal cottages, go hiking in the nearby village, but also unwind in a restobar with great food and live music. The host, the staff and even the other guests made us feel so warm and welcome. We strongly recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience a blissful rural life.

If there ever was a paradise lost, never fret because you'll find it again here. A home away from home nestled amidst pristine pine and fern canopy hugged by the mountains - Rabten and his warm family made every bit of our stay in kalimpong a moment to cherish. We were properly spoiled with cooked food (sumptuous), spacious beds and copious rooms, a view to behold, misty mountain weather that transported us to a fantasy novel, a brilliant hall room to congregate and singalong. Rabten personally ensured we had all the right contacts and logistics sorted out for our sight seeing and transport. Rabten's mum was extremely generous to us, and kind. His crew were engaging and always available to help and assist. I would strongly recommend the homestay, and we definitely made friends here whom we want to visit again, soon!

Although I never met Arpita, she manages her parents home online - Arpita is excellent at communication. Arpita's English is excellent and she communicates clearly and concisely. I never had to wait long for a reply. This listing offers extra services like prepared meals and arranging excursions and transportation. All of these services were delivered with excellence. I brought a colleague with me, with the two of us we had quite a list of foods we didn't eat. All of the meals were delicious and met our dietary needs. This home is located on a very busy road. The rooms on the exterior wall facing the road experience road noise which was difficult for sleeping. You can hear loud noise going on in the upstairs bathrooms in the early morning. The family's staff are all wonderful. I felt welcomed and well cared for and enjoyed my stay.

Kinley's Homestay has a traditional Bhutanese interiors and we liked it. It felt like we travelled back in time. Her family has been waarm to us and had a great time interacting with them

Besides being a great Airbnb host, Sonam happens to be an outstanding and super safe driver. Highly recommended to not only stay, also use Sonam as driver too!

Just the right place for philanthropists and nature lovers. The place is right in the middle of it. Manab and his young team mates are just lovely hosts who will go all the way to make your stay delightful.

This is a beautiful serene place to stay with great coffee and great views of the Himalayas. Our accommodation was clean, private and secure. Sarah is a wonderful host and nothing is too much trouble. We highly recommend this place.

Hey Keshav & Franc, although I've stayed in tea estates earlier, this was a double surprise - great food and great hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed your knowledge and the time you've shared with us. And above all we've bonded well throughout our stay in Sapoi. Out an out must visit as keshav & frac is not hasitant to put their best foot forward to make you feel at home. A very modern but rustic stay, very colonial feel - reminiscence of yesteryears of British architecture and tropical climate. Added bonus, vegetarian food too taste awesome at Sapoi Must visit.

Yangsum farms highly recommended. Great locales,ethnic food, above all great host. It's worth every penny u spend.
