Cottage holiday rentals in Nishikyo Ward

A cozy comfortable refuge from the busy streets of Kyoto. Checkin was easy and the location is ideal - just a few steps to Kiyomizudera. In spite of the crowds heading up local streets, this house is set back and very quiet. A beautiful forest is visible out the back of the house, with a wonderful tub to enjoy the view. We also appreciated the immediate responsiveness of the hosts by text. Highly recommended.

We had the honor of staying at this magnificent property. The host was extremely responsive and even offered to pick us up and drop us off from the Kyoto city center. We prepared our own groceries and had a wonderful time barbecuing at the indoor fireplace. The house was equipped with all the necessary amenities. We also thoroughly enjoyed hiking around the property to take in the beautiful mountain views. Overall, this was a truly pleasant and peaceful stay in the Kyoto countryside, and I highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys being immersed in nature.

accommodation is spacious, clean and in a very peaceful area. the hosts were very helpful. they picked us up at the train station, gave us great tips about the area and insight in the Japanese farm life. they drove us to interesting areas outside of the village.

ワンコと還暦夫婦で宿泊しました。 前日、小浜に泊まって京都への戻る途中、もう一泊したくて見つけました。 湖西道路沿いの別荘ゾーンにあります。なので静かで、散歩にも困りません。 夕方の散歩では湖西道路のサイクリングロードを歩いて、対岸の雪景色を眺めることができました。 部屋もゆったりしていて、家事もしやすく、ワンコともども、とてもくつろぐことができました。 おススメです。

Het huisje is erg mooi in een fantastisch mooie omgeving. De verhuurder is erg vriendelijk en spreekt erg goed Engels. Het huisje ligt erg afgelegen in de bossen maar dat is waar de meeste mensen die boeken denk ik naar op zoek zijn. De dichtstbijzijnde supermarkt is 50 minuten rijden. We hebben genoten van ons verblijf in het huisje!

Really nice place with ample provisions and even filtered coffee for the mornings. step right up next to beautiful lake with nearby mall for all that you need. Host came to check in on us when we had a flat tyre. Most helpful gentleman Loved the stay...

部屋の窓から眺める湖畔の景色は非日常的で最高でした。 ハンモックにゆられながら湖畔で遊ぶこどもたちを眺めるのも最高に贅沢な時間になりました。 ありがとうございました！

This place is an absolute gem! With a warm and welcoming host, you’ll feel right at home. Nestled deep in the jungle, you’ll wake up to the delightful chorus of birds chirping, creating a truly serene atmosphere. If you’re craving an adventurous getaway, this is the perfect spot! I can’t wait to return for another unforgettable experience!

My mom and I stayed here for four nights, and of the three different places we stayed during our two weeks in Japan, this was our favorite! The architecture and custom carpentry and beautiful touches (like a bamboo ceiling!) made it feel like we were staying in a work of art. The balcony overlooking the forest was so serene. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. You’ll need to take a cab to get to the more bustling parts of Kyoto, but for us that wasn’t a problem. The host was warm, helpful, and so quick to respond if we had any questions. They had a cleaning service come halfway through our visit, which was a nice bonus. Highly recommend staying here and hope to have the opportunity to do so myself again in the future.
