Family-friendly holiday rentals in Nishikyo Ward

This is the ideal spot for your stay in Kyoto! It's just a stone's throw from the train station and the local shopping mall, making it incredibly convenient. We rented bikes nearby, allowing us to easily explore the beautiful city. The apartment is equipped with top-notch appliances, and the host has anticipated every need to ensure your comfort. Communication with the host was outstanding. I would definitely come back without hesitation!

From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home in this wonderfully clean and well-equipped apartment. Everything was thoughtfully arranged—having a washer-dryer was a real bonus. The tatami bedroom added a lovely traditional touch, and the bathtub was perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. The location was excellent, with many major sights easily reachable by direct bus or train. Even traveling from Kyoto Station with our luggage was no hassle at all. The area is peaceful and quiet at night, ensuring a good night’s sleep. Our host was exceptionally friendly and generous—there was even water, noodles, and rice provided, which was such a nice surprise. All in all, a truly fantastic stay. Highly recommended!

Great location! Nishiki market was a 2 minute walk. Family mart was just around the corner. Everything was close and convenient. We love the free refreshments and some nice gifts when we arrived. We love it so much we’re already planning my next trip. LOL

Place is very spacious, very clean and good air conditioner. Very comfortable bedding. Shower is plenty big. If you are 6ft or over you’ll need to occasionally duck but tat all over Japan. It’s definitely not a problem. Way better than staying in a hotel as I could sneak downstairs as I am always up before my family and could get work done before activities. Cabs and Ubers go right by, 7-11 is baseball throw away and an excellent I Indian restaurant on the corner. If you have a kid who wants McDonald’s it’s right there too. You’ll have to take a cab or Uber unless you want to walk 20 minutes to things but as I said they are readily available and only cost $10. Highly recommend super spacious and I felt a much better option for us than a small hotel room. Also it had a good washer for clothes.

Wow, a great little house in a quiet area. We've been so happy to stay at Mayumi's place, where everything was just fine. And a host who was sweet and communicative. Definitely a huge recommendation!

Amazing stay here in Kyoto. We were in a lovely neighborhood that felt like we were living there. The space was clean and tidy and had all the amenities we needed. Highly recommended!

We had a good stay. Mineral noise since it was in a residential area. Walkable to public transit and Nishiki Market. AC was very good. Washer and dryer worked well for small loads.

We had a wonderful stay at the Cozy Cottage. The house was very clean and spacious. For us, the best part was the location. It truly felt like we were locals living in the community where Cozy Cottage is located. All of the staff were also very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time, and the stay definitely made our time in Kyoto extra special. I would recommend this stay to anyone looking for a bit of a slower pace in Kyoto.

Nice house in a quiet neighborhood. Location gives fantastic access to the city through the Green Line (Karasuma). Easy to access from Kyoto Station shinkansen. Less than ten minute walk to the Aeon Mall. All facilities in working order. The washing machine is very useful in extending the usefulness of your carried clothing.

I can’t say enough great things about Uzu’s place. It was so clean and comfortable. When we checked in she was very thorough about the house and also about the surrounding areas and places to go. She had a great hand drawn map of the area that we actually used a lot! The traditional beds we chose to sleep in were very comfortable. Everything in the house is labeled which makes it very easy to find things. Uzu went out of her way to show us local restaurants and spots to try. She is a very friendly host that cares about making her guests stays very enjoyable! One thing we found was that it was a bit out of the way of central Kyoto. However, if you want to experience a quiet traditional neighborhood this is the spot! It’s about a 10 min walk to the closest train station or bus stop. The location is very quiet, near the river and less 5 minutes by walk from the station and konbini. Everything you need is provided inside the house, so you don’t have to worry about

One of most special Airbnb i've stayed. two adjoining parts—one a lovingly kept 100-year-old beauty, the other a slick, modern build—linked by a garden walkway. Inside, the highlight is a dramatic lounge filled with antique pieces and original details, while on the living side, the shower room is enormous. The setting is a calm, local neighborhood with easy bus and train access, and the host is unfailingly friendly and quick to respond.

This listing was an absolute dream come true. It’s very spacious, cozy, well-stocked with towels, linens, etc. Our host so kindly let us check-in a bit early and was so sweet and accommodating. The bathrooms and showers were so clean and had cool features. This was a wonderful stay and we really appreciated how close this listing is to various tourist spots and shopping areas like Fushimi Inari Taisha, LoFt, Nishiki Market, etc. Many places are easily accessible by train or walking. Overall we cannot rave about this Airbnb enough and we thank the host so much for her hospitality! :)

Shogo was an amazing host!! His home was clean and he had so many great directions in english for me and the other guests. I would highly recommend this to anyone staying in Kyoto! I know we will be back :)

At our arrival it was raining and we were lost. I didn’t know we had to meet at the office it’s about a 10 min walk to the villa but the host was so kind to walk to us and gave us a tour to the villa. Overall the villa was nice and clean. My friends and I enjoyed our stay here

Very homely place to share with 4-6 friends. Very accommodating and comfortable. The Open Air Bath was to AMAZING! HIGHLY RECOMMEND My only gripe is that we were looking for it at night and the Google address does not show you it is in a little alley off the main street.

Great location close to a train station and convenience stores and restaurants. Perfect space for our family of 5 with enough beds and space. The stairs were very steep and no bathroom on the 2nd floor so just be aware if those might be issues for you but we were fine.

We had a wonderful stay in this very clean and comfortable home, which had everything we needed—whether we were relaxing inside or heading out to explore. After a week of travel, we especially appreciated having laundry facilities and helpful supplies on hand. The space felt roomy for the two of us, especially compared to other places we’ve stayed in Japan. May and Milan were very responsive, and the detailed instructions made it easy to use the Japanese appliances. The location was excellent, just a 10-15 minute walk to Nishiki Market, with plenty of great restaurants and cafes nearby. We’d love to return and would happily stay at May’s place again!

I had the pleasure of staying here about eight years ago and everything was perfect again! Great location across the street from a gorgeous Kyoto icon, Toji Temple, nice and close to public transportation including the city’s mega train station, and wonderful, gracious hospitality from the host. We felt right at home with the personnel check in. They were very attentive, helpful and kind with great restaurant recommendations! The house with a traditional feel was impeccable clean. The cherry on the cake were the 5 bicycles provided which you could use for free. also a easy to park parking spot if you are driving. 6 out of 5 :)
