It is easy to go towards Nagano. Mt. Nagamine, abandoned lines, Daio wasabi, swaths, etc. are close by. Nishimura Residence is an old-fashioned Nara-machiya that has been standing on a piece of Nara-machi for more than 100 years. I was a “grandmother” for a long time when I was a child. In Nara Town, there is a pleasant despicable feeling that never changes. "I want to be filled with this pleasant contempt even for future generations." With that in mind, I took care of the empty Nishimura Residence. - Nishimura-Tei is originally a traditional Japanese house which has been here in Nara-machi town over 100 years, where my grandmother used to live in. My mother and I decided to renovate this house to preserve and pass down the virtue of good old days in Japan to the next generation as well as to show it to you.

It is located in a quiet and local neighborhood; a perfect location for those who wants to base in Osaka and visit Kyoto, Nara and Kobe. Also, it is a space for those who appreciates art, interior design and architectures. Opened on October 1, 2016!(The second store, Makotoya Ohjin, opened in May 2024.) It is a traditional Japanese house in a very convenient location. It is about 3 minutes on foot from Takayama Station and about 5 minutes on foot from the old town. When you enter the house from the front entrance, you may feel as if you are in an old Japanese house. You can also enjoy the "horigotatsu" and "open-air bath". Our guesthouse is located in the old town called Nara-machi. There used to be many traditional wooden townhouses known as Machiya. We restored Machiya while keeping the original structure in order to provide you with a traditional Japanese experience with local atmosphere.This house is for only private use and has only one floor with Japanese style room, shower room, washroom, sink and small garden.

There are 2 bedrooms(Tatami-room) and 1 living room, gameroom, bathroom, shower toilet, all of the room are only for you. *Children is free of charge if your children don't need a bed and break fast. There are air conditioners in bedroom and livingroom.
