Inuyama Castle is the oldest castle in Japan and is very popular. In addition, the castle town is full of delicious things, so it is crowded with many people. There is a convenience store within walking distance. There are also many chain restaurants such as yakiniku and conveyor belt sushi, as well as eel shops and delicious restaurants that can be lined up. We have free rental bicycles, so you can go to many shops. Sorry, there are no children's bikes for children 9 years old and younger. This is a condominium-type accommodation that can accommodate up to 4 people. The first floor is exclusively for guests. Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

I came to Gifu in 2018, I think it was it’s unpretentiousness that attracted me . The people here seem relaxed and easy going, hospitable and very much in love with their hometown which in the Gifu park area retains much of the (Kyoto like) feeling of traditional Japan with it’s castle and a host of well maintained shrines. I don't think many people have heard of Gifu, even Japanese people, inspite of the Great heritage sights like Shirakawago, beautiful mountains and clear water rivers!
