Kuono at Volcano

RavenRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This was the perfect jump off spot to the national park. Jeff’s house was a wonderful space with attention to detail that made us feel at home. A long soak in the outdoor tub was perfect after exploring all day and the kitchen well appointed.

World Class Vacation Home

JenniferRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This place is probably one of the most unique and beautiful places I’ve ever stayed. The inside and out are decorated beautifully. You can see the ocean from the front porch and the lush vegetation surrounding the place is magical. No dishwasher and no A/C but with the windows open and fans provided in each bedroom, it was perfectly fine. The sound of the coqui frogs was also delightful at night. Just know that you will be driving about 20-30 min to get places but it is so absolutely beautiful - it is worth it to stay there. Michael gave us a tour of the property and was very responsive any time we needed anything, which wasn’t often. Highly recommend this place as long as you are willing to drive a little ways to get to things. Make sure to do the scenic red road drive, which is close by.

Hale Mauna Loa Volcano Vacation Home Upper Level

We are so lucky that we found this place! We needed somewhere to stay that was family friendly and close to the park and this checks all the boxes. Lots of space for the kids to run around and we enjoyed barbecuing on the spacious deck. We will definitely be back here.

Volcano Cabin - Nene

GabeRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We did a quick father and daughter get away for a couple nights and the place was perfect. We had room in the yard to set up a couple yard games and walk around looking at flowers. The cabin was cozy but spacious and the proximity to the National Park was perfect. We met one of Gary's employees on the property by chance and he was extremely polite and personable, I believe his name was Andrew. Sorry buddy, if I'm wrong. I look forward to bringing my whole family next time! And I enthusiastically recommend checking this place out if a cabin style getaway is what you are looking for. Gabe

Volcano Rainforest Lodge

RhiannonRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home very much. Plenty of room for our family of 5, and the kitchen was fairly well appointed for cooking in. There were also many extras that we appreciated as well, such as flashlights (the property is remote, so very dark outside at night), laundry detergent, books and games. etc. One thing to note is that there was a slight musty smell; I suspect due to the wall-to-wall carpeting in the bedrooms and the tropical climate. This did not bother half of us, but the other half of us who are more sensitive to smells were a little bothered. I think a change of flooring would be a good idea (not an easy fix, I know).

Magical Na Moana Mele- Magical Songs of the Sea

CherylRating, 5 stars2 months ago
If you want to be one with nature, this is the place! Waze took us right to it without any problem. It is DARK so the stars are amazing but bring a flashlight or headlamp. Stock up on groceries before you arrive. We prepared most meals in the well equipped kitchen and enjoyed our peaceful stay very much. There are some great hikes, beaches (with sea turtles!) and hot pools nearby.

the apartment is a very great and special place. Surrounded by the nature you live in a big cozy apartment. You can listen to the animal sounds around you in the night. Jim was very friendly, he gave us helpful information about the area. Check-in was flexibel.

Hale Maluhia

EmmaRating, 5 stars5 months ago
This was our second time to the island but first time with 2 toddlers. We wanted something more peaceful on the more rural side. This home did not disappoint! The directions were really easy to follow to get there and unlocking the place. This was a perfect size for our family. We were so happy to see a screened in Lanai that was attached to the living room so it opened up into one long room. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. Its very close to Volcanos National Park (we got to see it erupting on the 24th). 30-ish minutes from Hilo If you are looking for island time (slow paced, family, go with the flow) kind of stay book this place! .

Enchanted Volcano Forest Escape 3BDRM Rental House

StephenRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Lucky to grab this location for a few days. Accommodations were great for three parties of folks. Especially great one couple could bring their dog. Unfortunately, we missed the volcano eruptions, which started the day we checked out for home. They seemed to have everything you might need and super cozy, including the reclining couch sections were comfortable enough to sleep in!!

Off-Grid Tropical Boho Cottage Close to Ocean

SteveRating, 5 stars2 months ago
One of my favorite AirBnB stays ever! It was a magical place, designed so thoughtfully. I felt deeply connected to the beautiful tropical farm and natural garden surroundings, yet had all of the conveniences to be totally comfortable. It was such a pleasure to wake up to a chorus of birdsongs and gentle warm breeze blowing through the loft windows. The garden shower was also amazing. Melissa and Jeff were so friendly, and I felt at home instantly. I cannot recommend this place more for a retreat in nature!

Best Hilo Beach Area. Swim w/Turtles

CareyRating, 5 stars5 months ago
The view! What an amazing location. We saw whales in the bay right outside our lanai a few mornings. The space worked perfectly for our group of 7 girlfriends. Plenty of beds and bathroom space. The home is quite old, but we loved the character and evident history. Everything was very clean and tidy and well stocked. Really nice updated kitchen was wonderful. We were close to everything we wanted to do and enjoyed relaxing at the house in the mornings and evenings while enjoying the view. Though right across from a public beach, the house felt quiet and safe. Richard’s recommends ahead of time were spot on and helpful in making plans in advance. Thank you for a fabulous stay! We’d love to return someday!

Puna Rainforest Retreat Hotspring: Green Bamboo

KaoleeRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The green cottage I stayed in was really cute and dainty. This was a perfect personal rainforest experience right in your backyard and if you are looking for peace and serenity. Her entire property was gorgeous and I am still dreaming of it as I am back home on the mainland now. 😊 At night, you will hear the Cokee frogs (LOL! I thought they were birds till I learned that they were frogs!) but I just closed all the windows and that helped me sleep through the night. Her dog, Kalo, is the most sweetest dog I have ever met. He is quiet and calm. He came up and cuddled up next to my legs when I arrived. She is very attentive to messages and questions. If you get lost and lose wifi connection you can contact and call her. The GPS was a little challenging for me once on the road to towards the cottage since my cellular carrier does not have the greatness reception. A nearby neighbor was kind and redirected me in the right direction. 🤗

Puna Rainforest Retreat Hotspring

ParthaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Puna Rainforest Retreat Hotspring is truly one of the most beautiful Airbnb properties I’ve ever stayed at. Nestled in the lush rainforest, the property features stunning orchards, a thriving vegetable garden, and a serene trail that made our stay feel like a true escape into nature. Our host, Jacklyn, has clearly poured a lot of love and care into maintaining this special place. She was incredibly warm and welcoming, generously offering us fresh fruits and vegetables straight from the farm. It was such a unique and thoughtful touch that made our experience even more memorable. Our whole family had a wonderful time here, enjoying the peaceful surroundings and the natural beauty of the property. If we return to the Big Island, there’s no question—we would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a magical and relaxing getaway.

Luxury family w/pool sleep 8/5 minute walk 2 beach

BrianRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Such a beautiful hale and peaceful area to relax with family. We had a total of 8 adults 1 toddler and twins (16) months. We are from the Big Island so this was a staycation for us. We loved the open livingroom area as we were able to set up our 79×79 play alrea for the kids and still had enough room for everyone to hang. Pool and jet master spa were great! We loved the convenience of the pool bathroom and outdoor living space. The master and guest master rooms were spacious and simple which we liked. Bottom rooms also plus! We cooked all of our meals there it was great! We loved how big the area felt. Everyone had a place to go. We especially loved the adjacent beach!!! Did some fishing and took all the kids swimming and exploring. Lots of tide pools. (bring good reef shoes/nonslip/fish poles/head light or flashlights if going at night-FUN! Close to hilo mall and downtown area. Robert and his staff were respectful and helpful! Definitely enjoyed and appreciated them. B back Mahalo

Pool House In Paradise

ErikRating, 5 stars6 months ago
Great home for a large or multiple families. Excellent for a reunion or holiday. Brand new kitchen and beautiful custom furnishings. The house was very clean and well furnished. The beds and linens were very comfortable. We visited in November so the cool evenings were perfect with some fans. However a summer visit may be a bit warm for some people not used to the tropics. The house is on a small coconut farm so there are chickens roaming about. Between the chickens, coqui frogs and the geckos, it was a perfect slice of east hawaii living This house is split into 3 expanisve and distinct wings. Two bedroom wings and a main living/kitchen area all surrounding the pool. One wing has a single bedroom with a private lining area and bath. The other wing has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Every bedroom has 2 beds. The spacious ness of the house gives everyone privacy and space to relax after a long day of island life. Pahoa has everything you need though the prices are a bit high.
