Family-friendly holiday rentals in Monção

We would like to thank Architect Paulo Gomes for the sympathy and attention with which we were received in his magnificent villa in Monção, through the Airbnb platform. It was truly well spent days, in a fantastic space where there was nothing missing. The villa has excellent conditions, which exceeded our expectations, providing unique moments of comfort and leisure. As a constructive suggestion, and with all due respect, we believe it could be even more enjoyable if hosts made us slightly more at ease, avoiding going around the house while our group was present. Anyway, this is just a light recommendation, as everything else was just fantastic. We reiterate our thanks and congratulate us on the wonderful villa and hospitality.

A truly memorable stay. The landscape was breathtaking — wildflowers, birdsong, horses, and morning mist over the valley created a dreamlike atmosphere. The spa facilities and infinity pool, set against stunning views, were especially restorative. The cabin is compact but surrounded by natural beauty. We loved waking to the sounds of birds and nearby waterfall — simply idyllic. There was occasional noise from grounds maintenance, but it didn’t detract too much from the overall impression. The host was communicative and flexible with our arrival time. Thoughtful touches like the welcome wine and chocolate cake made us feel right at home. Everything was smooth and easy, and we found some fantastic local restaurants. The surrounding area is full of charm, with quiet walks, friendly people, and views we’ll never forget. We spent our days exploring and simply soaking it all in. This place made us fall in love with Portugal — we’re already looking forward to returning. Thank you!

This is a stunning place secluded away from anything nearby. Great for a retreat to be restful, listen to nature and admire the beautiful horses. Cheila was an incredible host, super responsive to any questions or comments and gave us some beautiful lemons from her tree. The house is really well throughout and all amenities are included. Thank you so much for a beautiful stay. ❤️

Amazing Space! Perfect for a few days of rest, surrounded by nature. It's exactly like the pictures. It's really worth spending a few days here. And we couldn't ask for a better host, super available and cozy. We'll definitely come back!

We had a wonderful stay with our family with two young children. Esteban was so accommodating and provided us all the amenities we needed for our children to make our stay comfortable and child friendly such as a stair gate, step stool, before we arrived. We arrived very late in the evening and Esteban waited for us and had bought us some essentials to eat and milk for our toddler. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. The swimming pool was a lovely bonus and a welcome escape from the heat. The most beautiful beaches were a 5 minute drive away as were all local convenience stores. Esteban was always available if we needed any advice or recommendations and was quick to answer to help. A fabulous host! Wish we had stayed longer!

Relatively easy access (mountain roads), located in a small village 5 minutes' drive from a supermarket and cafes/pizzeria, stone house completely remodeled inside, equipped kitchen, well-decorated living room, a large balcony with a spectacular view and a very cool pool with cold water.

Dear Ana, Thank you for a great vacation with you. You are very nice and helpful. The house is like a little oasis in the north of Portugal. Ideal place to relax and contemplate nature.

We rented this house for ten people and we had a fantastic weekend! The house was spotless and even nicer live than the pictures. The pool area is simply fantastic, apart from being very well thought out to enjoy it. The pool was super clean and well cared for, they also left us some pool towels in case we needed. The fantastic rooms and bathrooms, the kitchen great and super spacious....a ten of the truth. The common spaces are multiple and very spacious so we could all be together comfortably. Apart from the hostess was super friendly and flexible with us at all times, so thank you very much. Wonderful.

Perfectly equipped and tastefully decorated house in the heart of the Rías Baixas. Residential and quiet area. The photographs do not do justice to the views from the balcony, which are wonderful. Rosario is an excellent host, attentive and kind, she gave us a multitude of directions and recommendations so that we lacked nothing.

excellent stay, only issue was with sleeping as the double bed mattress had plastic wrapping which can be noisy. no washing machine. Definitely would stay again.

The house already looked beautiful in photos but being there it was even more spectacular, dreamy, the hosts were super attentive and we felt very cared for.

We really enjoyed our stay at Tue’s house. It is a great size with good bedrooms and plenty of living space. Ideal for our family of 7. The house is well equipped with plenty to do - swimming pool, bikes, pool table, large garden etc. The local area is very quiet with a good beach and some nice local walks. The weather wasn’t great while we were there, which was unfortunate and meant we couldn’t make full use of the pool etc. but it was great on the sunny days. It could perhaps be improved with some soft covers for the sun beds and maybe another sun umbrella. All in all though we had a great stay.

We enjoyed ourselves very much! The place is lovely, very good for relaxing and listening to the birds! Definitely recommend! 😊

We had a great time in Afife and enjoyed our stay at Joaos place. The location was very quiet (except the Honda shop across the street in the daytime) and Afife has not much to offer, which was okay for us but should be known in advance if you plan on eating outside. Porto is great to be reached by train and the beach is very close. With 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms there’s enough space for a big group and everything was very comfortable. The pool was open already and was cleaned during our stay. The only thing which I would point out on the negative side is that when we arrived it smelled a bit mouldy, probably due to the rainy weather and the fact that 3 of the bathrooms don’t have windows. The staircase to the lower part of the house is very steep. That’s a fact you should know when travelling with small kids. Joao was perfect to contact and always responded quickly whenever there were any questions. Thanks for having us. We would totally recommend to stay at his place.

We had a wonderful stay with Stefan and Lilian. The sweetest hosts! The house and the place are even more beautiful in reality than in the pictures. A perfect place to slow down. The hosts grow the most delicious vegetables, which you can buy from them. The warmest recommendations from here.

The house with garden, chickens, cats and turkeys seemed like a little paradise to us. We enjoyed the pool incredibly charmingly and were able to cook deliciously with the equipment. It is incredibly green in the area and a swim in the river (Lima) was a wonderful experience. A good starting point to go to the mountains or to the coast, as well as sweet towns around and also not far from Porto. We can absolutely recommend the accommodation and were all totally satisfied. Enjoy the place and the time there, it's not difficult at all.

We had a great stay, we will definitely go back. The house is extremely comfortable, beautiful and versatile, it gives both a warm and cold height. The location is perfect, both for those who want to know Gerês, and for those who just want to rest and enjoy the amenities of the house. The accommodation is cozy and beautiful. We found it very clean. Well-kept and pleasant garden to enjoy. Good location to get around the area. Fidel responds quickly and is available if you need him. Worth repeating.

We really enjoyed the space. Ideal for those looking for a quiet stay. The pool is very good, the water temperature was great. As for the hosts, they were friendly, gave good suggestions for local restaurants. I recommend it and hope to return in the future.
