House holiday rentals in Mission Beach, San Diego

I am a San Diego local, but my family was coming to town and we needed more space. I picked this place because I knew my sister and brother-in-law would love being able to walk to all the restaurants and brewery nearby and my 6 year old nephew would get a lot of use out of the pool. The place exceeded my expectations, it was perfect for everyone. We spent a lot of time in the backyard swimming or playing board games, and my Mom got a lot of use out of the hot tub. Communication with the host was excellent and the place was comfortable and clean. The only downside is my family might visit too often now!

We had a fantastic week in La Jolla! John’s place was charming, spotless, and perfect for our family. The home was well-stocked with thoughtful amenities—including beach gear—and had everything we needed to feel comfortable. The location is unbeatable: a quiet, family-friendly neighborhood within a few minutes walking distance to the beach, great restaurants, coffee shops, and more. John was a friendly and responsive host who made everything easy from start to finish. Honestly could not have asked for a better host. Highly recommend for families looking for a relaxing, convenient stay in La Jolla. We’d love to come back!

Stay at Katri’s was great. Had delicious cookies waiting for us when we checked in, which was a breeze. House was spacious and entire lot was very big. Pool was great and even after we had told them that no heated pool would be necessary, Mother Nature had a different idea and gave us some more than unexpected chilly weather, so they had no problem throwing the heater on for us. Freeway in the background was hardly a noise problem for us personally. Just far enough that it didn’t affect us, and was nice to see what our morning commute was going to be like. Brought two dogs with the group that absolutely loved everything (after one of them finally got over his fear of the staircase). All in all a great stay in a great neighborhood. Cant comment more how quickly they responded to us in the days leading up to the trip, and while we were there. Great hosts!

We loved our stay at Mari Katherine’s Airbnb for a girl’s weekend in SD! It is a beautiful home that was spacious and thoughtfully designed and decorated to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The home feels private, but was in a fantastic location in North Park that was easily walkable to coffee shops, restaurants, etc. Mari Katherine sent clear instructions leading up to our stay, so the logistics of check in were clear and easy! When some logistical challenges came up during our stay, Mari Katherine was very responsive (even late in the evening) and offered solutions - we would be thrilled to visit again!

Quiet location, exactly as pictured and described. Parking could be a challenge if you have a large vehicle but being able to park in the garage made it easier. Great communication!

The location is unbeatable, and the views are breathtaking. Mark was responsive and thoughtful throughout the whole booking process. Once we were checked in, he reached out to make sure we were all good and had what we needed. I would love to come back here. Thanks for having us, Mark!

If you have a family with children this is the PERFECT place! Not only are there plenty of toys and board games to keep the kids entertained, there is also a pool and jacuzzi. This rental even had toothbrushes and toothpaste along with sunscreen and aloe in case you forgot.

Alyssa was the perfect host. She was easy to communicate with and was flexible on check in and check out. She brought an iron right away when I asked if there was one in the apartment. Her place was clean and perfect with tons of towels and blankets available. The bed was also super comfortable. I highly recommend this space if you are looking to stay in OB.

We absolutely loved this home! Literally just steps away from the beach and so many restaurants! The home was clean and the kitchen was stocked with everything you would need! The beds were comfortable and the home was spacious! Also, the home was stocked with all the beach necessities which was awesome that we didn’t have to bring those things! Lots of beach chairs, boogie boards, wagon and even bikes! We had so much fun and can’t wait to visit again!

Maureen was a wonderful host! She was very kind and always super responsive. This home was the perfect location for a relaxing beach vibe. Every room was very clean and tidy when we arrived. We loved our stay and would definitely pick this place again!

We were at the beach constantly! We didn’t even have to wear shoes over there! If we ever forgot something that we wanted, we could just run back in less than three minutes to grab it. Such a game changer with young kids. Also, she was such a great host. We forgot something and she happily sent it to us in the mail. Highly recommend!

My family and I truly enjoyed staying at your beautiful home! Doug and Shawn really thought of everything for their guests! They are very professional, kind and responsive. The home is very close to the beach, restaurants and shops. We walked everywhere without having to move our car which was a big plus! If you’re traveling with a baby they have a pack and play and high chair you can use. We only used the pack and play and that was super helpful for us. It was one less thing we had to pack for our trip. If you’re looking for a beautiful, comfortable and relaxing home this is the place for you! The outside patio is absolutely stunning! We sat outside for dinner one night and truly enjoyed it! The home is very clean and organized as well! I highly recommend staying here when visiting San Diego. Being so close to the beach is what sold us, especially when you have to walk there with little kids! Thank you once again Doug and Shawn for hosting us! We really appreciate it!

Our family absolutely loved staying here! The pictures of the home were accurate, master bed was comfy, and we loved that each bedroom had its own designated bathroom. There was so much space within the home and we never felt cramped. The only “weird” thing about the home is the master bedroom has an attached sitting room - which faces a half wall that is open to the stairs leading up to the bedroom. So the bedroom door does provide visual privacy, but does not provide much of a noise barrier. This is definitely not a deal breaker, as we would absolutely stay here again!! The home was conveniently located between Mission Beach and Mission Bay, and my adult children had a great time utilizing the beach toys. I would highly recommend this property for families with adult children or group of adults needing separate spaces.

Perfect location and close walk to the beach and Belmont Park. The directions to check in and out were easy, and the place was clean! We would definitely stay again for our next family vacation.

Chris's place is in a prime location, steps from Mission Bay and a short walk to the Beach. It is close to many restaurants and a few blocks from Belmont Park (which our kids love)! Checking in was easy and the garage was big enough for two vehicles. The house was clean and spacious. We have a family of six: kids, parents and grandparents and there was plenty of space for all of us. The rooftop deck had beautiful views and the 3rd floor loft was a great place for the kids to hang out. We had to contact Chris with questions and he responded quickly and kindly helped us. We have stayed at many hotels and Airbnb's in the Mission Bay area and I would definitely recommend Chris's place!

My stay here was exactly how I wanted it to be. The home was very clean and had a lot of necessities like cookware, silverware, shower products, and so much more! Everything was super neat and organized. The bed was extremely comfy. The host was very easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed, also made sure all our questions were answered. I am looking forward to staying here again when I return to San Diego. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is thinking about staying here. You definitely get your moneys worth.

Great stay and amazing location! Less than a block away from Mission Bay, a stones throw to the beach, and walking distance to dozens of bars, restaurants, and cafes. Really appreciated the hot tub, grille, and extensive beach supplies.

Great location! Very walkable to lots of spots in Mission Beach and right by the beach. The space had everything we needed and the outdoor seating made for a great area to hang out!

Location was great with short walk to beach and bay. Well-appointed unit with everything we needed. Was very clean! We had a couple of questions and waited a bit for responses, but figured things out. Would likely stay again.

Really is 2 minute walk to the beach down a safe neighborhood. Perfect for kids. AC mini split in every room. Our family had a great time using this place as a base. Short drive to grocery store and other things (we drove). Surrounding restaurants were pretty good too.

Edward's listing was exactly as described. It was extremely spacious and comfortable. You can't be the location either. There was a small hiccup with parking and Edward was extremely responsive. The issue was sorted out immediately. I would definitely stay here again!

Gorgeous Airbnb on an almost private beach. Location is great for those who know the area. Only one bedroom and patio space is shared with other unit. But the view and serene environment made up for it :)
