Mains Cottage on Vindomora Roman Fort

CarlRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Absolutely spot on. Comfortable bungalow with plenty of space. Very clean and well appointed. Friendly and helpful hosts, needed to stay an extra night quick response from Chris and Lynne and extended stay sorted. Great location, very easy to get to and from. Handy local shop opposite. Would highly recommend and definitely a return visit.

Cheerful, comfortable 3 bedroom cottage

PeterRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Just a perfect place to stay if you want to be close to Hadrian’s Wall, Vindolanda or Hexham. Immaculately clean, the cottage is spacious and comfortable. It has high ceilings and lots of little nooks, so that all the family can find space to read a book or play on their phones. The cottage is supremely well stocked with every supply or amenity you could think of. All our family remarked on how super comfy the beds were….we all slept like logs every night. The cottage is set next to the owner Georgina’s farmhouse. She popped round to say hello at the start and finish of our stay and was really friendly. The cottage has a private garden laid to lawn, which is big enough to kick a football about, or just let young children run about on. The location is really peaceful, with only the sound of lambs and bird life to be heard (including a cuckoo). All in all just a brilliant and totally relaxing place to stay. We’ll be back….

Prudhoe Cottage -17th Century-5 bedrooms-Sleeps 10

Wonderful hosts, super helpful and friendly, they even decorated for us as we were celebrating a birthday! The house has absolutely everything you could need and plenty of it (loads of towels, spare toiletries, cleaning supplies, loo roll and kitchenware which is sometimes lacking in holiday homes!) The garden was perfect for our dogs and the house was super clean even though it's dog friendly. Great location. Wish I could give more than 5 stars! Thank you for such a lovely weekend :)

The Cottage

Perfect stay...I needed a peaceful, comfortable environment to attend to family business and was very busy. It was a delight to stay and a relief to come back to a clean, welcoming space each day. The bed was super comfortable and the house cosy yet airy. Rosie is a brilliant host and had loads of local knowledge. The Feathers gastro pub opposite serves a limited locally sourced menu cooked beautifully and an extensive wine list. Open Thurs-Sun. Not far is Corbridge with other places to eat and drink, so very well served. I did a couple of lovely evening runs so imagine very easy for long hikes. Much to recommend and will definitely stay again.
