Family-friendly holiday rentals in Matrei in Osttirol

Chalet of dreams! We had the most perfect stay at Lina’s place and it exceeded all expectations. Pristinely presented and amazing facilities. Only 15 mins drive to Kitzbuhl for skiing and it was then the perfect place to unwind with friends for a relaxing evening. Hot tub/pool/sauna were all amazing and such a joy to use after a day out. The chalet has everything you need and more and Lina is incredibly hospitable and thoughtful. Highly recommend to stay here, we loved it and really hope to come back at some point

An outstanding place to stay! It's huge and perfectly set up. The interior design is amazing, a great modern interpretation of traditional Tirolian style. The huge hot tub, which was ready to use when we arrived, and the Finnish sauna are amazing highlights.. The apartment is located in the center of the small town with stores, restaurants, and wonderful trails in easy walking distance. This stay was a special experiance that we will remember for a long time to come! 10 out of 10.

We rented Arthur's two large apartments with a total of 4 couples (2 kids). We had a great week! The apartments are very spacious and because each couple has their own bathroom, there was a lot of privacy! Also enough space in both apartments to dine/sit together with everyone. Walking distance to the slopes (tow lift Nives). There is storage space with heated elements for ski boots in the garage, but we chose to keep our belongings in the depot next to the ski lift. Within walking distance of the village, supermarket, restaurants, and so on. One of the bathrooms has been recently renovated, the photos show an old bathroom with bathtub, but this is now a very nice new bathroom. Arthur is a very friendly host, he is very responsive and very helpful. In short, we had a great week and booked again for next year!

We had a wonderful week. The cottage run by Maikel and Britt is beautiful and very well located in a medium mountain setting (1350 m) located at the foot of the Hochkönig in a bucolic and relaxing setting. Maikel and Britt are very welcoming and friendly, always present for good advice. The cottage is very clean, spacious, well-equipped and tastefully decorated. The sauna is very useful after a good walk. The village of Mühlbarch am Hochkönig is located downstairs 5 km away in a small valley in the center of many hikes and also a family ski resort. We would recommend it.

Wow, wow, wow this place is so beautiful and magical. Views of the Dolomites straight out your window. Beautifully appointed cabin with everything you need. The spa and saunas are fantastic after a day of exploring this incredibly gorgeous part of our planet. Ilaria is the most welcoming host even offering fresh eggs and locally made cheese. This portion of our Italian holiday will remain etched in our memories forever.

We absolutely enjoyed the apartment with our two children (2 and 5). It is absolutely clean, child-friendly, and has really everything you could need. Especially the connection to the Falkensteiner Cristallo was great for us - we could use the pools and children's pools and the children's program. Just perfect for families We definitely want to come back.

We feel lucky to have stayed at this house—the views really are just as stunning as they are in the pictures. Boža and Dušan were very welcoming and we had everything we needed to really settle in for a few nights—the kitchen, for example, was very well furnished with all sorts of practical implements for real cooking (i.e. not just a few dull knives and a single ladle rattling around in otherwise empty drawers). We really appreciated the house's easy access to Italy, Austria, and of course the rest of northwestern Slovenia—it offers a great combination of dramatic mountain views and easy road access (so no daredevil driving up and down steep and rocky rural roads every time you want to get some groceries). I'm sure the house is lovely in all seasons, but it was especially enjoyable to take a dip in the jacuzzi with an overnight frost settling in and then cozy up by the fireplace inside.

We had a nice stay at the house slate. Check-in was flexible and easy. The entire place was very clean and there was everything you need, incl. Cooking and grilling utensils, you almost feel like home. The spa area was spacious and as described. Despite other guests, we also had some moments to ourselves. On our first day, however, the sauna was switched off shortly after 9 pm (instead of 10 pm), too bad for us as we could only arrive in the early evening. The app was very helpful for hiking tips and also answered all questions about the services for us. I might have liked an extra towel for the sauna (no extra charge), I just recommend bringing a towel and bathrobe myself - otherwise they can also be rented at an additional cost. I find the check out at 10 am a little early, but I also understand that it takes its time to clean the place. We will be happy to come back!

Roman and Milena were very gracious and frendly hosts. They had special treats when we arrived and were very informative about the local hikes and restaurants. The location is just magical. So peaceful and beautiful! The cottage is well equipped and spotless! There are even slippers available for guest use! Very thoughtful. We hope to come back sometime for a longer stay. We were in Maria Alm in January 2025 to ski. The apartment is very quietly located on the northern edge of the city center of Maria Alm. Oliver was a friendly host, the apartment was in perfect order, clean, spacious and very nice, especially with the most necessary things, furnished. We felt very comfortable. Oliver had good tips for restaurants and shopping. A parking place is also available. It's just a few minutes' walk to the Natrunbahn. At the valley station there is a super modern ski depot and you don't always have to carry the skis back and forth. All in all, excellent. Thank you. We will be happy to come back.

We had a very nice vacation in Elfriede's apartment. The apartment was very nice, everything tip-top and clean, everything you need was available. There was also a very nice large terrace. There is a small supermarket, a village café, a restaurant by the lake where you can eat well. Everything is easily accessible. Our dog also felt very comfortable. The two nights following our Italian holiday brought an incredible amount of peace. An absolutely relaxed, helpful and super sweet host who was able to take care of a lot of worries and we could just enjoy ourselves, even the dog relaxed, like never before in a foreign environment :) clearly - we will come back! Our stay at Lisa’s farm apartment was absolutely unforgettable. The view from the balcony was unreal — expansive green fields, majestic mountains, and total tranquility. It felt like stepping into a painting every time we looked outside. The apartment was clean, cozy, and perfectly situated for a peaceful escape. It’s clear Lisa has put a lot of thought into making guests feel at home — she left a list of fantastic local recommendations that really helped us experience the area like a local. This is the perfect place to relax, unwind, and soak in the beauty of the Dolomites. If you’re looking for peace, nature, and a truly memorable view, this is it. The accommodation of Birgit and her family is perfect. We visited for the 2nd time and everything was prepared with so much love again. Thank you for the wonderful time at your place. We'll be back. 5*****

The accommodation is cute, very pleasant, well equipped with in addition to what to occupy on rainy days (books, board games...) not to mention the ancillary activities available (swimming pool, sauna, solarium, fitness, children's game room, ping pong table). In addition it is conveniently located at the crossroads of cities such as Munich, Salzburg and Innsbruck. Oberaudorf alone is worth a visit and especially as Tyrol is within reach to vary the excursions. We highly recommend this listing for a relaxing stay in Germany. It was a little piece of paradise.

The stay was very calm and peaceful surroundings. You just hear the sound of birds and mountains look like they also sleep in the night and you get up in the morning with fresh air from Nature. 100% Recommended.

Loved the view and the nature around the place

We stayed at the property for 4 nights. We enjoyed it very much, the apartment is just right in terms of size. The swimming pool was also always a rest after long hiking days. Especially the view from the balcony to Watzmann and Jenner is definitely worth a mention. Depending on where you want to go, the city center was also easily accessible on foot in 10-20 minutes. All other attractions were reachable by car in 5-10 minutes. The building is on a slope, so you have to go up to load by car and park it a little further down. That went smoothly. In short: really recommended!

Francesca was a delightful host. We enjoyed talking with her when we checked in and she made our entire stay easy and enjoyable. The apartment was perfect for us. It had all of the necessities and is located right in the center of town. Francesca also made some restaurant recommendations.

Gregors place is a wonderful place to stay. It is a working farm so there are horses, chickens, Rabbits etc in the grounds which was lovely to see. The apartment itself was spacious, with 3 bedrooms, a separate toilet, shower room, nice kitchen diner and lovely peaceful veranda where we spent half an hour each day listening to the silence. I would thoroughly recommend Gregor and Elizabeths Airbnb !!!

Katrin's place is great for a getaway. She made us feel right at home quickly and provided lots of recommendations in the area. We will have to visit again as there were so many nice things to do. The house was cosy and the outdoor space was great to relax.
