Family-friendly holiday rentals in Mason County

My sister and I had a very relaxing stay. The house was cozy and very clean with fabulous views. The lilac was in bloom so everything smelled wonderful, too. The handbook is a bit vague in places (no list of recyclable items and no instructions for the for the hot tub) but the hosts were very responsive to questions. A very peaceful escape.

Rented this cabin out a few years back and had to come back a second time because it was that good. It’s located in a peaceful, quiet, and clean location that overlooks the beautiful view of the bay. Cabin was very clean and organized, hosts were friendly and responsive; they answered every question I had before, during, and after the trip. Cabin provides a good amount of everyday items, including but not limited to utensils, seasonings, linens, kayaks, paddle boards, etc. All in all, another great experience here and our group has decided to make this a new yearly tradition. We can’t wait to go back in the following years.

My wife and I were looking for a peaceful weekend getaway as our kids were out of town. This looked like it would check off the boxes we were looking for. The space was just right for us. Waking up to the incredible beauty of hood canal, easy access to the water so we could drop our kayaks and go. Beautiful wildlife including many bald eagles, harbor seals, sea stars, sea cucumbers, octopus, oysters, clams, the list goes on. We cannot wait to come back!

Beautiful stay right by the water! Would highly recommend to anyone visiting around Olympic National Park area. Close proximity to great oysters and hiking.

We loved being at Mason Lake and the lake house was well represented in the pictures. The kitchen was well stocked, beds comfortable, plenty of linens and supplies. Plenty of space for our multigenerational group of 8. Nice to have kayaks and canoes to use. Bruce responded to any questions promptly and with good humor. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return!

I planned a boys trip with my nephews and cousins and chose Bruce’s place. He did mention that he usually only allows people with three or more stays but after telling him about myself and the trip he allows me to stay and I have to say it was a great trip. The air bnb was great and me and my family made great memories. Bruce was very kind and responsive. The internet was a bit dodger so communication was a bit tuff but manageable. If anything this helped create a better trip getting out of the city and spending much needed time at a great place with great people. This trip has encouraged me to try and do this annually with my family whether it be at Bruce’s or another air bnb. Thanks again Bruce!

My husband and I really enjoyed this little cabin! It’s a beautiful spot right on the hood canal. The size was perfect for a short stay with 2 people. It was a little noisy with the cabins right next door, but it was memorial day weekend so there was lots of celebrating going on. We would stay here again!

The house and cottage are comfortable and lovely, and the views of Eld Inlet and Mt Rainier are fabulous! We enjoyed the hot tub and being just steps away from the beach where we saw otters pass by one morning and lots of bird life. Our family enjoyed making our meals and eating on the large, beautiful deck - a highlight! A special place - we hope to return.

Quaint place. Quirky but clean. The loft is up a ladder-not stairs. Must feel comfortable going up a ladder. Not suitable for young kids or pets Very clean and several areas to walk

The wife and two kids spent two nights at Mikes Beach Resort in July. The cabin, although a little smaller than what we expected was peaceful and the surroundings beautiful. Although we spent most of our day outside, the cabin was very welcoming when we got back.

we love to stay at the cabin in the woods for a private little get away,but still near the water for kayaking crabbing and oysters. they have music and food every Saturday, great place to stay

Kenny & Kelly’s place was absolutely lovely. We stopped there as a place to rest and relax for a few days during our cross country road trip from Massachusetts with our dog, Fox. The water right outside our door was a dream. We did find some small pieces of glass and there are sharp rocks on the beach/yard. Not the fault of the owners, just the nature of a WA beach. But definitely recommend watching out for children’s feet, wear water shoes as well as dog paws. Our dog did cut his paw pretty bad on some glass while swimming, unfortunately. But again, this just comes with beach play. We brought our paddleboard and went out one day and that was absolutely perfect. We saw so much wildlife. The sun room was where we spent most of our time. Our dog, and we, loved watching the wildlife and the tide go in and out through the big glass windows. We would definitely stay here again if in the area!

The view from the master, kitchen, living area and porch are amazing. Host generously gave us 2 hours early for checkin since our flight was really early.

Yes it's old but they've kept it up very nicely. Huge windows overlooking the water? Yes amazing. We loved the area, so much to do, great hikes, great places to eat, great place to hang out to just chill. The Saturday night shindig was a lot of fun, enjoyed it quite a bit. We had never been to that area so didn't know what to expect but will go back again when we can.

You really can’t complain with free access to fresh oysters right outside your doorstep. The cabins are perfectly simple, private feeling, and include a soothing view of the water. We can’t wait to come back!

This home is located in one of the most beautiful locations -- gorgeous Harstine Island! The home is decked out (not to mention the wrap around deck is amazing!), spacious and as comfy as home in a fabulous beach community with trails for hiking through the old growth forest and beaches with firepits and excellent beachcombing. We absolutely give this property 5 stars and we'd give 6 if we could.

Dawson was an excellent host, my family and i enjoyed every moment spend at her place. She was able to accommodate me and my large group of family members at such short notice. The place is lovely, cozy and warm and had everything and much more that we needed to cook up a meal. The huge deck was a great place that we used to entertain and have games and food, the swimming pool was huge and amazing. The Hot tub was great to soak and hang out in the evening. The entire deck is lit up with string lights and we enjoyed it throughout the night. This place was perfect for our family gathering and getaway and will definitely book again. Thank you Dawson .

What more could you ask for, with a place by the lake. Propane gas ready for cooking on the grill, a nice seated area overlooking the lake. And big window outside of each room for good views. Very comfortable, very easy living, by the lake.

Peter is an excellent communicator! When we drove up to the home's gate we were very pleasantly surprised!!! The house is beautiful, very clean, and has an amazing view, plus we thoroughly enjoyed the pool and hot tub. There's also a two-person hammock, pergola, various outdoor chairs and tables. The kitchen was very well-stocked and we loved all the art and cookie jars throughout the indoors. We've stayed at many Airbnbs and this property is the very best! You will not be disappointed. Near there is the Wild Felid Advocacy Center (book a visit online) that shelters tigers, mountain lions and other large and small cats. If you go there make sure you watch road signs and addresses since our navigation took us elsewhere. The only marker for WFAC is a cat paw print at car-height. What heartwarming memories we built there during our vacation. Paradise, simply put. Thank you, Peter.
