What can we say.. We spent a glorious, relaxed week here at the end of August, a truly special place a beautifully renovated original stone house with high ceilings and original features. Paul was a generous, friendly and knowledgeable host, and the views are spectacular. Apartment 3 was a good size for our family of 5 (kids 17, 14, 11) comfy beds, en suites for each bedroom and a stunning balcony. The pool was an extra treat, beautiful, and again with panoramic views across the valley. Oh, and the WiFi was speedy too. Brace yourself for the drive, it gets easier and it’s 100% worth it! Would happily and heartily recommend ❤️

Peter is a charming host; attentive, cares about you, adorable while being discreet. He offers good advice. Regarding the accommodation, nothing to complain about, everything is impeccable, clean, and the view is breathtaking. It's ideally located. Very comfortable accommodation with small terrace for dining! Fortunately, the air conditioning is there in case of high heat which was the case for us!! Pay attention to the 3rd floor for the elderly and sometimes noisy in the evening due to the proximity to bars but good insulation in the room! We plan to come back …Thank you for the welcome!

We loved our stay!! ! If you are looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful area this is the place to go!! The house and the view are beautiful! Last but not least Paul was such an amazing host!!Very friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Gave us local recommendations which made our trip even better. 10/10 and absolutely recommend it :)

Great place located centrally to everything. Restaurants, cafes, bars, park and shopping all walking distance. Host was lovely and very attentive.

My young daughter and I stayed with Maria for two nights. The experience was absolutely incredible. The photos do not fully capture the stunning beauty of the gardens and the surrounding landscape. We felt like we were in a fairy tale. Maria was so kind to provide us with breakfast foods in the fridge with breads we could bake ourselves so they would be warm and fresh and all sorts of coffee, juice and tea. The space itself was beautifully decorated with antique furniture pieces and artwork. We still had the convenience of very fast internet which was great! The bathroom was super clean and modern, the bedroom was spacious and had everything we needed. I cannot wait to find the opportunity to come back and stay in one of the most magical places I have ever been!! Thank you Maria!!

It was a great stay, the apartment is great, and Filipe is always responsive. A superb view of Amarante and the surrounding area, an accessible and clean pool. Very good restaurant not far away run by Filipe. We look forward to coming back next year.

The owner Peter welcomes you himself, he makes the effort to express himself in your language, the accommodation is impeccable, quiet and with all the comfort mentioned, to be recommended it is for sure.

The place was one of the best and cleanest on our entire round trip. It's a little off the beaten path, so you shouldn't expect special restaurants or English-speaking service staff. But it was a great fit for transit! Pedro and his family were partly on site and super nice and accommodating.

An incredible place, recommended to unwind and have an incredible stay!! The host is always attentive to everything you need. The accommodation is a paradise, breakfast is left at the door of the room, it really is an incredible place and we will surely return!!!

Overall a good stay, expected the whole space to be part of the property but it’s actually split in half, even if common areas can be shared, I did not expect it to be like this. Regardless, still a pretty good calm place to be at

Staff was wonderful, very helpful and responsive. We had a delightful wine tasting. They set up a taxi to take us to town and told us where to have dinner. The small village was extremely charming, we had a great dinner and our taxi driver was waiting to take us back after. The room and property were top notch. the only minor issue we had and it may be our fault, is we were further away from the Douro Valley than we thought. The directions were correct, but I missed my turn into the property, it isnt much of a road and it sneaks up on you. It would be challenging to find at night. But in the end, we were extremely pleased with our experience and very glad we stayed. We would wholeheartedly recommend it!!
