Holiday rentals with outdoor seating in Marco de Canaveses

This was a dream vacation - we had just moved to Portugal and spent 2 weeks getting setup. We wanted a quiet week as a family to rest before school started. This place was perfect: perched on a mountainside in the middle of vines, the space was quiet, peaceful and beautifully designed and appointed. Paulo, the husband, is an architect who refurbishes vintage designer furniture. Teyna, the wife, is an amazing chef. Her breakfasts (included) we delicious and the dinners they offer in their adjoining restaurant and well crafted and tasty. Their place is pet friendly - we brought our dog, and they have a dog, two cats and two birds. We did outings to Porto, nearby Roman ruins, historic villages and swam in the rivers running through them. It was delightful.

The house and its surroundings are truly designed to give a family everything they need to have fun and rest. Nothing is missing and everything is very tasteful. House with good appliances and outdoor spaces that motivate and help good living. Wood oven, stove and rustic kitchen, barbecue with crockery and cold support, beautiful tables that can accommodate everyone. Children's playground, toy house, swimming pool with wonderful lawn, good loungers to relax. Shaded spaces with rocks and trees, a small tank with fish for the children to say good morning, a background music of silence and birdsong mixed with the laughter of children and at night a starry sky. I enjoyed staying. From the location to the stylish furnishings it was what I was looking for. Although quiet in regards to food offerings there were two local eateries and a cafe. All I needed! Being close to the river I spend mornings with coffee and evenings with a glass of wine along the waterside. A (large) supermarket is only a short 15 minute drive allowing me to use the well equipped kitchen. I don’t hesitate to recommend Casa Douro!

Everything perfect, Mr. José responds very quickly. Casa excellent, check-in with Mr. José who was very attentive.

This home is absolutely beautiful, we felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. Everything we could possibly need was there, from a fully equipped kitchen to thoughtful touches throughout the house and garden. It was spotless, and we especially appreciated the fresh citrus and eggs from the birds next to the property waiting for us. Carolina and her husband are exceptional hosts, warm, generous, and incredibly helpful. All their recommendations were perfect. Do note that a car is essential, and confident driving is a must in the area. The game room with the pool table was a great bonus, especially on rainy days. The nature, the views, and the garden were all stunning. Our only regret was not staying longer.

Thanks again for a lovely place to stay! Hopefully we will be back next year.

It was an amazing weekend. We felt at home. We enjoyed the cold nights by the fireplace and with family games. Our pet was super happy with the green areas. Clean and comfortable linens. In addition to excellent communication with the host, always available and polite.

What can we say.. We spent a glorious, relaxed week here at the end of August, a truly special place a beautifully renovated original stone house with high ceilings and original features. Paul was a generous, friendly and knowledgeable host, and the views are spectacular. Apartment 3 was a good size for our family of 5 (kids 17, 14, 11) comfy beds, en suites for each bedroom and a stunning balcony. The pool was an extra treat, beautiful, and again with panoramic views across the valley. Oh, and the WiFi was speedy too. Brace yourself for the drive, it gets easier and it’s 100% worth it! Would happily and heartily recommend ❤️

Peter is a charming host; attentive, cares about you, adorable while being discreet. He offers good advice. Regarding the accommodation, nothing to complain about, everything is impeccable, clean, and the view is breathtaking. It's ideally located. The apartment is superb..The setting ,the environment is wonderful and the Portuguese are humanly so good..So touching..I felt like I was on a cloud of tranquility and peace... I would come back..The Douro Verde half marathon is really, already unforgettable...

Wishlist for this home amid the Douro vineyards. The view in the evening from the terrace is incredibly (lights). Gite decorated with care, and very clean.

Very good rental apartment, they have several, the only pega would be the parking, it is somewhat complicated to find a place to park

My young daughter and I stayed with Maria for two nights. The experience was absolutely incredible. The photos do not fully capture the stunning beauty of the gardens and the surrounding landscape. We felt like we were in a fairy tale. Maria was so kind to provide us with breakfast foods in the fridge with breads we could bake ourselves so they would be warm and fresh and all sorts of coffee, juice and tea. The space itself was beautifully decorated with antique furniture pieces and artwork. We still had the convenience of very fast internet which was great! The bathroom was super clean and modern, the bedroom was spacious and had everything we needed. I cannot wait to find the opportunity to come back and stay in one of the most magical places I have ever been!! Thank you Maria!!
