Cottage holiday rentals in Mar Vista, Los Angeles

We had a great time and stay, arrived around 9:30 PM, Darrell met us at the carport and helped with my bag when he did not have to. He lead us up about 50 steps and gave us a tour that was super helpful. Arriving after sunset is highly recommended by us. House is comfy, Private Hot tub was wonderful to use daily. Day bed outside was awesome to star gaze. Fire pit adds a nice touch as well. Private sauna too. Plenty of beautiful greenery, water, tikis and nature sounds. Keep in mind this is set in the Topanga Canyon and is basically a forest/jungle so there are bugs, slugs and wild animals so if you are scared of bugs and whatnot you have been warned. FYI there are grounds keepers on property during the day so you are not totally alone. Darrell lives on a property up the hill and is available at all times. Side note, We have a EV vehicle and we found chargers in Calabasas and Santa Monica. Thank you Darrell and team.

Beautifully landscaped mountain house with rustic charm and an abundance of views and moments. Lynne is also very communicative and attentive. Dog friendly. Overall a delightful stay!

Definitely wanted to stay longer! Connie made us feel welcomed before our stay even started and was even more of a delight to meet in person. The property is beautiful! Cottage was perfect for us and our pups. Neighborhood streets are nice to walk down with stores and restaurants easy to walk to. I can go on and on about the positives so I’ll just say that we will always check availability here first for any return trips.

5 stars – A Perfect Stay! 
I cannot recommend this place enough! From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The cottage was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities I could possibly need. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches like fresh coffee, extra towels, and a helpful guide with local recommendations. The location was perfect—close to everything, yet peaceful and quiet at night. Communication with the host was seamless; Linda was very thoughtful, responsive, friendly, and went out of her way to make sure I had a great experience. I especially appreciated the little things that showed she cared like the personal welcome and farewell notes. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Connie was truly the perfect host. Responded so quickly to request for hot tub heat-up each eve (enjoyed the pool, too). And her written words were warm and generous. There was everything you could need in the kitchen and bath…including extras you wouldn’t even expect in other Airbnbs we’ve stayed. Syrup for our pancakes, for example, and toothpaste! Wonderful ambiance in our sweet cottage, lots of comfortable places to sit and covered front porch to snuggle up in next to the gorgeous home with beautiful gardens. Loved the lights strung across the yard; SO pretty each evening. We were fascinated by the Pasadena Parrots twice a day; fun to try and spot them in the mature trees all around. We are grateful for Connie allowing us to experience this exquisite property and we really hope to return!

Magical place! Best experienced in real life. Don’t wait book this home. Beth was a doll, brought us fresh picked flowers and creamer upon request.

MK is a fantastic host! Her place is in a wonderful, central location that allows you to easily get around LA which is saying a lot as LA can be a tough city to get around in. The home matched the description and photos. MK was very accommodating, flexible, kind, and responsive - thank you for a great stay!

This is a paradisiac place. Very secluded and surrounded by nature, ideal to really unplug. The outdoor kitchen is beautiful, as well as the swimming pool and the suite. Karen was an excellent host, always available when we needed something. We are looking forward to come back soon!

Not only was this place beautiful clean and as described, it was one of the nicest in quietest Airbnb I’ve stayed at in Burbank! Patricia was responsive and easy to deal with!

Absolutely loved staying at David's place. It was perfectly peaceful and quaint and very unique. David was also great in that we left an item by accident when leaving. He immediately let us know and helped coordinate a pick-up of it later that day. Was super appreciated. Would highly recommend staying at this or one of his other properties!

Small, but beautiful and well equipped

Our most recent visit was our third stay at Kristin and Richard’s place. We love the location. Great for visiting the entire Pasadena and LA area. Their place has tons of character and many thoughtful touches. Kristin and Richard are very friendly and super responsive.

Don is a wonderful host! He was extreme responsive, very kind and caring, went above and beyond, e.g. by checking in frequently how we were doing, recommending the most lovely places to go and eat in the neighborhood, and sending detailed instructions on how to manage the traffic in the busy city. The location and the beautiful apartment exceeded our expectations by far. We loved our time there and will definitely return.

Wow. This place is magic. Perfect for a quick solo getaway and I’m already planning my next trip back with my partner. There is so much to do and enjoy. The majestic oak tree out back, the outdoor soaking tub, the outdoor daybed, and the breakfast Maggie made for me were highlights. I felt totally immersed in the wild nature of Topanga. This was truly a 10/10 experience. Only note is that there are mosquitos right now, so plan accordingly :)

We had the most magical time at this treehouse! From the moment we arrived, we were enchanted by its charm peaceful, immaculately clean, and surrounded by nature. It was the perfect escape, and we left feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated. A few things to note: The treehouse is accessed by about 40 steps, so if you’re bringing large suitcases (like we did), be prepared for a bit of a climb. But trust us it’s so worth it! The seclusion and beauty of the space make every step worthwhile. Our host was absolutely incredible.. warm, welcoming, and incredibly responsive. Her instructions were clear and detailed, making check-in and our entire stay seamless. She went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, and her kindness truly made our trip special. We fell in love with this little oasis and can’t wait to return. If you’re looking for a unique, serene, and unforgettable getaway, this is it! Highly, highly recommend ❤️

We very much enjoyed our stay. Very peaceful and secluded, yet close to shops and restaurants. Parking was sometime on the side streets but no problem at all. Kitchen is well stocked, and we enjoyed dinners outside. We hope to be back.

Craig was friendly, helpful, responsive, and provided great local recommendations. The Airbnb was exactly what I needed for a solo trip, and the location was quiet despite being only a few blocks south of the busiest part of Hollywood. I highly recommend staying here.

Very comfortable stay close to the Redondo beach pier. Walking distance. Accurate description. Second bedroom bed is tiny. Well stocked kitchen. A lot of restaurants nearby. We had a wonderful time at Wendy's place.

Very nice stay with friends at Melissa's place! It was super clean, beautiful and cozy: perfect for 2 people. I love the terrace and the little lights! The street where the accommodation is located is super quiet and close to several major roads to get to the city's points of interest. Mélissa responded quickly to messages and gave us good recommendations during our stay. Thank you for everything 🫶🏼

Had a great stay here for work great kitchen and nice tv so a nice place to relax and then a very big bed to enjoy.
