Holiday rentals with a kayak in Mackinac County

Absolutely amazing hosts!! The home is gorgeous with so much room. We took the whole family up to celebrate dad's 70th birthday and there was tons of room for everyone.

Lisa was a very responsive host. We had everything we needed for a family of 4 with 4 separate bedrooms, 2 full baths, and a mudroom with laundry. We easily could have had twice as many guests and still felt comfortable. The best part about this place is the privacy, seclusion, and beach along Lake Michigan just steps away. The views of lake Michigan were incredible and 3 of the 4 bedrooms and living room all had amazing window views of the lake especially waking up in the morning. While the weather was a little cool during our stay, we still enjoyed hanging out on the beach and had a latenight campfire. We are already planning another trip back during warmer summer months. We also enjoyed fishing at nearby Brevort Lake and caught a ton of perch and even some smallmouth bass and walleye. We also made a day trip to Mackinac Island and the ferry in St. Ignace was only a short 20 minute drive away. This spot was perfect for our Memorial Day long weekend family getaway.

It was a beautiful location and stay. Everything was as we expected. Great communication before we arrived to help us find everything.

Tracie was very responsive to all of my questions and also very helpful with anything I asked or needed. She moved dates for me when we wanted to come in earlier and leave earlier. The place was beautiful inside and out. Beds were comfortable and all of the amenities required were there. Definitely would stay here again!

Very nice setting. Home was well equipped. Larger than it seemed in pictures, kitchen and living room are open spaces. Nice screen porch sitting area over looking the water. Only about 15 min to mackinaw city

My husband, 2 toddlers and 2 dogs stayed here for 4 nights and it was a perfect UP getaway. The house was well-stocked and everything matched the description and pictures. The lake was gorgeous, and it's a great location to explore other UP destinations.

Great home in a beautiful private location right on the water. Great amenities, inside and outside of the home. Tons of space for large families and very cozy. Sweet and thoughtful touches all around the home. You can tell a lot of thought went into the decor of the home. Master suite has beautiful lake views to wake up to in the morning. The hosts were prompt as far as questions and concerns went.

Very nice location, easy access to lake as well. Nice and relaxing with lots of wild life. Outside was a bit messy but overall great experience.

The place was incredibly cozy and comfortable, making it feel like a home away from home. I also appreciated the convenience of having gas stations, stores, and restaurants all nearby. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a great stay.

Tom and Kitty were excellent! The island is gorgeous and the beach area is perfect. The water does not get too deep which was wonderful for the kids and my sanity. Perfect spot for a family getaway! They allowed us to use their kayaks, canoe and swimming platform. Tom also put out children at play signs which was such a thoughtful touch. All together an unforgettable family experience. Just lovely!

Honestly a great place! My fiancé and I had a fantastic weekend. We used the kayaks and the row boats for sunrise/sunsets and it was wonderful. However, don’t expect the Wi-Fi to work 100% of the time. In cabin 1, we could only connect to the internet while standing outside in the driveway to the place. And it would only actually work sometimes. I would still absolutely recommend this place! Just make sure to bring a paper map : )

Located in Melody Beach Cottages, this place is worth the price when you watch sunrise on the first morning with your cup of coffee overlooking Lake Huron. The cottage is well designed and cozy, with a deck and walk out beach access. The check in and check out instructions are very clear. Overall, this was a 5-star experience, and we will be booking again on our next trip up north!

The cabin was clean and it looked the same as the pictures. Very convenient for Mackinaw and the surrounding areas. We loved being able to kayak and use the row boat for fishing. My boys caught a crappie, perch, and a blue gill. We saw a Bald eagle, a pair of Loons and other wild life in the lake. The was shed was stocked with water toys, fishing pole, stores sticks and so much more. I thought this yard was one of the best I saw while kayaking. The cottage had limited Tupperware and measuring utensils but we made due. The space was tight but I already read in the description and expected it. Nothing we couldn't manage for a few days!

Great no frills place to stay! We liked the convenience of location to the attractions on the Eastern side of the UP. It’s a rustic fishing cabin that was tastefully done. Price was on par with cabins in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, maybe slightly cheaper. Sunrise and sunset on the lake were amazing!

This was a wonderful place overall! The plentiful firewood and kindling was a major plus. The whole unit was very clean and well stocked with cleaning supplies, coffee, and basic cooking items (oils, salt, pepper). There was plenty of eatingware, cookingware, and towels. The only issue we had was non-functioning wifi and fridge, but this was resolved after several hours, and the host kindly compensated for the items that spoiled. The host was very professional and responsive, so we would love to stay at one of their properties again! Although on the pricey side, the privacy was well worth it. Ferry ports to Mackinac island are also just ~17 minutes away, so the location was excellent for what we needed.

Such a fun place to stay! There is plenty to do within an hour of the cabin as well as great fishing on the lake. The cabin was perfect for two people.

Very nice view & nice cabin

This place was rustic- Host was wonderful, View was amazing and the amenities near by were just what we needed. There was a private fire pit for each cabin and the Lake was right outside the back door. The weather could have been better whaile we were there, But it was just as enjoyable. We will be back again!

Our family really enjoyed our stay at King's Cabin. Excellent location on a beautiful lake. Hosts were very responsive when we contacted them.

OH it was just like ‘going up to the lake’ that I remember as a kid!! Staying at the cabin was a wonderful reset, the lake was crystal clear, the grounds were quiet and peaceful, and the bridge is less than 10 mins drive. I absolutely loved it, and I will be back for sure!! Thank You, Ritchie, for keeping the spirit of “Up North” alive 🙏♥️

The Location was perfect especially being close to mackinaw city! Quiet area and walking distance to local restaurants!

Beautiful stay. Small town but close to a lot of fun things. Kim was amazing and was very communicative. Couldn’t have asked for a better host.
