Family-friendly holiday rentals in Maalaea Bay

This condo was a gem in Maui! We loved how close it was to the Wailea shops and restaurants, but also great beaches (5 minute drive or 15 minute walk) and had a ton of beach gear provided. The pool was very close to the unit as well which is great with young kids and parking spot is right out front of the first floor unit. Spotless condo and awesome stay all around!

We came here for our 20th anniversary. The views and beach are unparalleled. It is a more private setting and not walkable to downtown Kihei. This was perfect for us because we just wanted a chill place to be. It is still very accessible to the entire island and Kihei is really easy to get to. We will absolutely stay here again when we come back to Maui!

Wonderful Airbnb! Katie was very responsive, helpful, and kind. It was a plus for us that this place had a washer dryer, because we didn’t want to check bags. Had beach towels, umbrellas, and boogie boards for us to use as well!

Mike's place is exactly as described. So close to the beach! He provides all sorts of things like beach chairs, a few beach towels, paddle boards a cooler, etc. Fully stocked kitchen with everything you could imagine that you need. He let us check in early which was a huge help! He's kind and fast on the replies. One thing to note, it can get toasty in the front bed room. He has a big fan which we used to suck in the air and that worked well! I highly recommend his place.

Great place to stay, have stayed here multiple times it is hard to beat Koa Resort! Paul was such a great host, always responsive and friendly. I would definitely recommend working with him and staying in his perfect condo!

My stay in Kihei was exactly what I needed—peaceful, comfortable, and effortless. The space was beautifully maintained, with everything I needed to fully unwind. The lanai offered stunning views that made mornings and evenings especially memorable. I couldn’t have asked for a better setting to relax and recharge. Highly recommended Tracy & Marco’s place.

Beautiful place and area. Right on the beach, which was amazing. Lots of towels, no need to bring your own shampoo, etc. as those are provided. Well stocked kitchen too. Beach chairs, etc. were also provided. Great trip! We will be back!

Has an awesome view with a relatively short walk to the beach. (We actually saw sea turtles there!!) The location was not far from wherever we wanted to go. The beds were comfy (a big plus for us after multiple back surgeries), as was the sectional sofa. Plenty of room for us to hang out. The kitchen was well stocked and having a washer/dryer available was extremely helpful. I may have missed this in the posting, but the first floor is a separate rentable area than the second floor. Luckily no one was in the first floor so we basically had the place to ourselves. We'd definitely stay again and had a wonderful time!!!

The stay was special to say the least. It was private and the walkable beach was quiet and beautiful. The town of Kihei has everything you need with close stores, restaurants, gas stations and snorkel rental. The house was perfect for our family with a space our child could sleep free of noise from the rest of the house while we were awake so we could enjoy the ocean from the porch and the jacuzzi tub. Would definitely stay again while on Maui!

Our ohana had the best time at Pookela Paradise. Mark was extremely helpful and so much aloha. Our family was well accommodated and was so nice to have a place for us to stay in Makawao. Mahalo again Mark! We will definitely be back

Beautiful condo, had everything we needed. Well stocked kitchen, condo was clean and comfortable. Air conditioning unit in living room and bedroom kept us cool and comfortable. Great location with park and beach right across the street and walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops. I'll definitely be coming back.

Jordanne's house was was perfect. Open and comfortable. Fully equipped kitchen. fenced in -making it feel private even out doors. good parking area. waking distance to restaurants or really anywhere in town.

Great location. Had a minor issue, but Lisa was on top of it . Making sure we were enjoying our trip. Would recommend to anyone visiting Maui! Mahalo!

The resort is older but well maintained. Beautiful landscaping, friendly staff. nice pool area, BBQ & sand bottom hot tub. we did not have a lanai but there is a group BBQ area. I enjoyed the gym and the peaceful surroundings. The beach is across the street. All in all a wonderful vacation experience.

Great location. Very close to the shops at wailea and other resorts for restaurants. The unit was very spacious and loved the bathrooms. The beds were comfortable. Great for family stay.

We had a wonderful stay! The location couldn’t have been more convenient—just a short walk to the beach, shops, restaurants, and a grocery store. It made getting around with my 7-year-old so easy and stress-free. The place itself was clean, comfortable, and felt like home from the moment we arrived. Jon was a fantastic host—very responsive, thoughtful, and accommodating. He provided clear instructions for everything and went above and beyond by offering great suggestions for kid-friendly activities we could enjoy during our stay. This was truly a perfect home base for our time in the area.

The place was just as described. It was within walking distance to a really nice beach. The chairs/umbrella for the beach were great and we used them extensively. We really liked that the washer and dryer were in the unit so we had fresh towels when needed. Would definitely come back

Our stay in Kihei was lovely. We enjoyed walking the quiet beach each morning and getting into town was easy from the Airbnb. We did not have any issues with parking on site despite a very late (overnight) arrival. It was a quick trip down from the airport as well.

This condo is where you want to stay at while in Maui. You will have absolutely everything you need to be comfortable and more. The floor plan is spacious, very well decorated with details that make you feel at home away from home. The kitchen has everything you need to cook and bake. The bedroom has a very comfortable bed, amazing views of the ocean, full closet with hangers and all sorts of things the host provides so you can enjoy yourself at the beach or parks. Things like a cooler, beach chairs, tennis balls and rackets, you name it, it’s in there. The bathroom is very practical and well designed too. The shower has amazing water pressure!! The lanai is one of the best parts, IMO. You can get to it through a glass door in the living room or the bedroom. The windows and glass doors are floor to sealing giving you natural light all day. I didn’t tun on the TV once, but there is one. I’m running out of space in this review and want to say so much more!! I’m coming back for sure!

Enjoyed our stay in Kihei ! Breathtaking view. A walkable neighborhood. The other beaches we checked out weren’t a far drive either. Communication was reliable when needed. Area was quiet. All the included beach items made our beach days super easy. Instructions for arrival and departure were clear and helpful.

We stayed for 6 nights and overall we were very happy at Jay’s place. Liked: - Easy to find, conveniently located in West Maui, and close to lots of beaches (Kaanapali, Napili, Kapalua) and restaurants. - Phenomenal view, and we really enjoyed looking out from the balcony/lanai. - Well-appointed, spacious for two people, and had a lot of convenient/thoughtful amenities (toiletries, extra towels, beach gear, etc). - Comfortable: bed/bedding, AC, shower water pressure. Notes: - On the third floor of a walk-up which is a bit hard with luggage, but we came to appreciate the extra exercise every day. - Right next to a well-trafficked street, so you can hear car noises, but it didn’t affect us. Room for improvement: - While the apartment was tidy, organized, and clean on the surface, it could use a deeper cleaning. The furniture was dusty, the shower curtain had buildup mildew, and the toilet had visible stains (which I cleaned on our first day). Didn’t materially impact our stay though.
