The Magical Cabin on Back Creek

Magic is the word most people use when they visit this hidden gem. Built in 1939 as a fishing cabin by a gentleman who incorporated box cars as rafters and beams, dates still visible since removing the attic. By far the best place I've ever lived. I decided to share it with others who love to explore, who love listening to the voice of the creek or who come just to sit on the porch high above the creek with a spouse, friend, family, or alone. Meade Cottage

Lovely 1940s cottage located in beautiful downtown Charlottesville. Less than 1 mile to the downtown mall, with coffee shops and top Belmont restaurants close by, some within a 5 minute walking distance. The cottage is across the street from Meade Park and the Wednesday farmers market from May to September. Perfect for a romantic couples getaway or a family vacation. The space is ideal for a traveling professional in Charlottesville and needing to be close to the University or the Hospital.

Our cabin was originally a grainery. We moved it to sit on a wooded knoll on our working sheep farm. Mornings can be spent relaxing on our front porch while watching lambs play. We offer a firepit and outdoor furniture to better enjoy the peaceful seclusion of our slice of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Guests are just 10 minutes to downtown Lexington, Virginia Military Institute, Washington & Lee University, Southern Virginia University & the Virginia Horse Center. The owner is a VMI alumnus.
