Nettles Nest is a rustic cabin nestled in the piney woods of northeast Texas in the small town of Redwater, just outside of Texarkana. It is located on a 5 acre lake. It's a great place to unplug. No Wifi. Fish (bring your own pole,etc.), swim, paddleboat, kayak, relax on the deck or under the pavilion. Good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families , and pets (up to 2 at no additional charge) . $30 fee per day after that, up to maximum of 4. No large groups. No parties.

Plenty of room for horse or boat trailers to park. 5 to 10 minutes from restaurants and stores if your not in mood to cook. Daily pet fee $5.00 per day per pet limit 2 pets. 30 lb. limit unless you talk with us first. NO CATS. You will need to provide animal crate if pet is left alone in cabin. The Blue House on Cross Lake

This cottage was built circa 1926 on Cross Lake as the home for Lonnie Erwin who owned a catfish restaurant next to his home. Back in the day it was popular to drive up from Shreveport if they caught enough catfish to serve. The restaurant closed in the mid 1940s and it and the cottage fell into disrepair. We renovated the cottage and restaurant (also on Airbnb as The Red House on Cross Lake) and brought them up to date.
