Great views, great food, cozy fires, and peaceful energy. This place had everything we needed and really enjoyed the weekend. The weather was amazing and started to rain as we were leaving and the rain sounds were so calming. Hot tub was a huge plus as well! Highly recommend!

My two best friends and I stayed at the fabulous Refugio Graziella for a relaxing girls’ weekend and it. was. perfect. Most of the weekend was spent lounging and chatting in all the many wonderful spaces the home offers: sipping coffee on the peaceful screened-in porch, relaxing in the hot tub, roasting marshmallows at the serene fire pit under the string lights with ample firewood and supplies, doing crafts and playing games at the inviting dining room table, cooking meals in the fully equipped kitchen, and listening to music in the cozy living room. We did not end up using the sauna (just didn’t have time), but are already planning a winter getaway to RG. We absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend it if you are looking for a quiet getaway, surrounded by nature but still a short drive away from anything you need or want. Clearly, so much thought was put into anticipating the needs of their guests, and that makes Refugio Graziella a place you immediately feel comfortable. 🥰

Great private and very clean space, only about 10 minutes from downtown, met them as we were arriving and they were very nice and helpful, would stay again without hesitation

We loved our stay here. It was exactly what we needed for the weekend. Lots of ways to spend time outside (deck chairs, hammock, fire pit with firewood, close to the Mississippi and wilderness areas). The interior was the perfect respite from the heat with high functioning AC. The house had a lovely scent and was beautifully decorated. Everything felt very thoughtfully designed and high quality. The beds were so, so comfortable. The kitchen was really well stocked. No notes! Plus, David was proactive with directions and very responsive. Some thoughts for future renters: downtown De Soto is cute, but a little sparse. Nearby Veroqua had a little more shopping, including a really great coop grocery store. We didn’t have any kids with us, but the house was well suited for kiddos (bathtub in the upstairs bathroom, safety gate on the stairs, kids cups and dishes in the kitchen, and lots of room to play).

Home is very accommodating inside and out, the lake was perfect for kayaking and we visited downtown shops and a short ride to House on the Rock. Great place to reconnect with family!

This was the nicest rental I have ever stayed in! The quality of everything was top of the line, and Joe and Kelly spared absolutely NO expense to make this space truly fabulous. From the quality of the appliances and furniture, to the beautiful details in every room, to the handwritten card welcoming us and local chocolate and wine (which were delicious)...there was absolutely not a thing that could have made our stay better (other than staying longer!). We saw rabbits, tons of birds, turkey vultures, hawks, deer, chipmunks, and squirrels, and enjoyed seeing the animals in their natural environment. What a spectacular view! My boyfriend (whose birthday we were celebrating) said it was the nicest house he's ever been in, period. If you're a fan of FL Wright, you will adore this house and all the details that show the love and appreciation for his work. We will most definitely come back, it was worth every penny! Thank you, Joe and Kelly, for being as amazing as your cabin! :)

Our stay at the cottage felt like a true retreat from the city. It honestly was more than we expected. The peaceful surroundings were like no other property we’ve stayed in. The home itself is beautifully built, thoughtfully decorated with all the needed modern amenities and spotless. The hosts were also welcoming and kind. We do hope to return!

I loved my two week stay at the farm! I came looking for a peaceful getaway from the city and to get a taste of life out in the Wisconsin countryside, and was definitely not disappointed. The farm is way up in the hills surrounded by nothing but land, and always an enjoyed the 10-15 minute drive down into town for supplies. I worked remotely while there, my first time using Starlink internet, and was very impressed with the speed. The place is very homey and cozy, with great amenities, comfortable bed, and warm heat. It was fun being able to watch the cows from the window, too :) Kayla had great suggestions for the area which was appreciated. I was wishing I could stay longer, and also wish I had taken the opportunity to purchase and grill the fresh beef options available! I definitely do hope to return one day.
